Pack Mina noisily sipped the last drops of beer left on the can. „Hwa,” she said. „Now I can relax! Today has definitely been a crazy day. And, if I had stood one more minute with my boss, I swear I would have been able to kill him for sure, for yelling at me.” Nevertheless, even if she waited for an answer from SolHi, Mina received none. That’s why she looked at SolHi, who was deep in thought, and asked her, „Something happens? SolHi? Ia, Ian SolHi, who am I talking to right now?”
„Aaa?” SolHi’s dumb answer came shortly after this, staring at her friend as though she never saw her before. After that, understanding that Mina was talking to her, SolHi forced a smile and said, „Nothing out of the ordinary. Except for the fact that I must see the Hunting Dog every day while having a gun. Otherwise, nothing else happens right now.”
„The hunting dog? And, with the „Hunting Dog,” you mean?
„Nobody other than prosecutor Han DooSan, of course,” responded SolHi, ironically grinning at Mina, who was staring at her with wide-open eyes.
Then, suddenly, drowning with beer, Mina coughed, spraying everything around with bitter drops. After that, when she finally regained her normal breath, she looked straight into SolHi’s eyes, to whom she asked, „And… Did you sleep with him already or not?” A question that made SolHi widened her eyes so much that she looked like an owl at that moment. Unlike her, who was about to pounce on her friend for asking such questions, Mina looked so calm, staring at SolHi with her little black eyes that seemed so similar to a mouse’s eyes at that moment. A glance that expressed so much at that moment, but nothing good for SolHi, who felt that she once again had been the target of her friend’s spicy jokes. Yet, understanding that she had no other choice than to enter her friend’s game, she said shortly after this:
„Yeah, and I have two kids with him already. Ia, Pack Mina, did you lose your mind or what? How the hell can you say something like this? Before entering the bed with that… demon, I rather twist his neck.” After that, deforming the beer can, SolHi threw it right into the trash. „Bingo!”
„Damn bingo! You should better answer my question, Ian SolHi: why should you and Han DooSan work together? And… Why do I have the feeling that you two, working together, are the perfect personification of the cartoon „Tom and Jerry?!” And, yeah, I’m fucking curious to know who Jerry is.” After that, folding her arms on her chest, Mina stared into SolHi’s eyes, waiting for the desired answer.
An answer that she heard right away when SolHi said, „I don’t know, ok?! I don’t know who the fucking Jerry is and who’s Tom. I just…”
„Talk nicely, Ian SolHi! You aren’t a man in a rock bar right now and it definitely won’t sound nice even there.”
„I don’t know about talking nicely, but I'm definitely sure that I don’t intend to lose in front of that idiot. Not after all the shits he’s done to me in the past, „favors” I intend to return to him one by one. And, if something bad about me crosses his mind, I swear that he won’t remain unpunished this time because… it has been enough for me. Especially… I’m tired of being his punchbag all this time. Now… I’ll go till the end, Mina. And, if one of us dies after this, then… lucky he.”
„I don’t know about luck or not, but I think you should quit your job, SolHi! Working as a detective, under Han DooSan’s command, I’m sure that won’t bring you anything good. Especially if he’s involved because we both know what he’s looking for: to see you in jail.”
„Then… he has a long way to wait for this because I don’t intend to let him enjoy seeing me on my knees in front of him, Mina. More than that, I’m tired of hiding or running, and you know this very well, just as you know that if I quit my job, I’ll let him know that I’m afraid of him when I’m not. And… nothing guarantees me that if I go, he’ll forget about his obsession with me to see me knocked down. I’m his target, remember?! I do, just as I remember everything he has done to me in these last 7 years. I don’t want to give up, not now when I’m sure he’s after me again. I won’t give up for anything in the world. At least not until one of us is out of the game.”
„And… with „out of the game” you mean dead, right?”
„I like when you make smart conclusions, Mina. Not for nothing, you are a psychologist. You definitely know how to think logically.”
„Ha-ha, it didn’t sound nice, even if it came out of your mouth, addressed to me.”
„I told you already that I like it when you think logically.” After that, for the first time that night, SolHi smiled.
„Whatever,” said Mina, waving her hand. „Now let’s think a little about this. Better saying… I’d like to know what you intend to do because I still think that’s better to make him your lover than your enemy. And… you won’t lose anything if you do that, I can assure you because… that bastard, he is so hot. I’m sure that if not because of the problems between you, he’d have been the perfect lover.”
„I also think so,” SolHi replied, surprising Mina. „He’s definitely sexy, like a bat that sleeps upside down during the day while, at night, he’s the boss of the vampires. You know the famous one, right? Dracula, I think this was his name. Well, Han DooSan is his copy after more than half a century.”
Unauthorized duplication: this narrative has been taken without consent. Report sightings.
„What I think is that you also know what the vampires can do to their women,” responded Mina, grinning, making SolHi stare at her. „You know the famous series „Twilling,” right?! Yeah, you know it because we’ve seen it together, like the scene with the broken bed. Something that can happen if you and Han DooSan…”
„Yah,” SolHi screamed so loudly that made Mina’s ears buzz. Because of this, Mina covered them with her palms. Otherwise, she’d have gone deaf for sure.
After that, when SolHi kept silent, Mina said, laughing, „You’re definitely the perfect copy of the other one. Why? Because none of you knows what happened that night, but… even so, you still prefer to suck the other’s blood than to find it out. This is what turns you into crazy vampires because the world is your mirror, SolHi. You still remember this, right?! I’m sure you do, just as you remember that others copy your movements, just like this life does, which returns everything to you, like a boomerang. Something that wouldn’t have happened if you had told Han DooSan about what you lost that night.”
„Never. Did you hear me, Pack Mina? I won’t ever tell Han DooSan about this. I don’t need his mercy. The only thing I need from him is to leave me alone, and, if this isn’t possible, then… I’ll fight with him until one of us dies. And you, Pack Mina, you’re… a traitor!” After that, SolHi simply went away, leaving Mina staring behind her.
Eventually, when she could realize why exactly SolHi called her traitor, Mina smiled. Yet, she did it bitterly because she understood that they were only two perfect idiots, just as she always told SolHi, „From love to hate, it’s only one step left, Ian SolHi. And… remember this: your friend is your enemy and… also, it works in reverse too. Always.”

An impressive building, in a neighborhood for rich people, which was stretching in front, was something to admire for sure. Yet, even if that street was so beautiful it was so empty, even if it was a late hour, when people generally got home from work. Then, suddenly, a minivan with the inscription, „Fast delivery, Duck Pan!” stopped right in front of the building. After that, the deliveryman, who was also the driver, got out of the car and opened the rear door, taking a big box with a red bow above it out of the trunk.
Seeing the box, An Sook, the deliveryman, smiled and said, „Someone will definitely have a great surprise today.” After that, also taking the inclined plane out of the trunk, he struggled for a short while to put the box on it. Something that made him mumble eventually, really upset, „What the hell is in this box?” Then, breathing with difficulty, he pushed the inclined plane toward the entrance to the building, still mumbling, furious, „Some people never think when they send such boxes. Neither do they care about those who carry such boxes on.” After that, getting in front of the door, he opened it and got in.
Once in front of the elevator, he pressed the button several times, calling it. Yet, seeing that the elevator was stuck on the eleventh floor, An Sook turned nervous and mumbled again, „What the hell this shit doesn’t come? I have more important things to do than to wait for it.” After that, nervous, he pressed the button so hard that he felt his finger hurt. Even so, he kept pressing that button while yelling at it, „Come one, idiot, come at once!”
Suddenly he winced when he heard the voice of a woman behind, who told him, „It’s broken!” A voice that made him turn his head left where he saw a woman about 35, in a wheelchair, heading toward him. „You should press it gently if you want it to work,” she told him once she got next to him. Then, she gently pressed the button and, 3 minutes later, the elevator’s door opened in front of them, something that made her smile and say, „I told you it’d work this way.” After that, pushing the wheels of the chair, she entered the elevator first. An Sook, still cooking his nose because he wasn’t satisfied with being taught by a woman, followed her right away.
Entering the elevator, the man forgot to press the button. He only waited until the young woman asked, „Which floor?”
„Five,” he rushed to say. After that, smiling, he pointed with his head toward his hands that were „occupied” with holding the inclined plane, as though he tried to excuse himself for not being the one pressing the button.
The young woman, understanding the hint, just smiled and pressed the button five. After that, the elevator started to climb. Yet, it was climbing so slowly that An Sook felt irritated again. More than that, what made him feel uncomfortable was the young woman that kept staring at him, as though trying to remember his face. This made An Sook finally look elsewhere, trying to avoid her glance while he kept yelling in his head, „Did nobody tell her that’s so fucking impolite to stare at the others? Especially at those you don’t know?” Questions that remained unanswered because An Sook, right away the doors opened, jerked out, dragging the inclined plane with the box on it after him.

„503. 503,” mumbled An Sook, looking for the apartment with the number 503 on the door. A number he finally saw at the end of the corridor, toward which he right away headed. Once next to the door, he left the box on the floor because it wasn’t necessary for the recipient’s signature while he didn’t need a talkative client to keep him in place. That’s why he only rang the bell, announcing to the client that a box was waiting for him, and went away because he needed to rush for other deliveries.
When his client opened the door, An Sook was far away already, closing the door of the stairs room behind him. He decided to descend the stairs instead of waiting for the elevator because he was afraid to meet that young woman again, a woman whose glance asphyxiated him. Actually, because of this, he was rushing so hard to descend those stairs: he needed fresh air, as soon as possible.
Unlike An Sook, who was damn nervous that night, his client was exactly the opposite: calm and lazy. He was about 40, not very tall, but still having an athletic body and blue eyes, which made him adorable. Thus, aware that he was very handsome, the man didn’t look surprised to receive such a box as a gift, probably considering it a kind of routine or something. That’s why he just opened the door more, dragged the box inside the apartment, carefully closing the door after him.
Once inside the apartment, he dragged the box next to the sofa, sat on it, and, bending a little over the box, he read the note next to the red bow, „Oppa, just for you! Open it when you are alone!” A note that made him smile eventually, this time pleasantly surprised by what he read. After that, in a soft voice, while holding the note in his hand and looking at it, he said, „Silly girl! It seems that she decided to surprise me tonight!” A true thought actually, because he definitely had a big surprise that night, finding inside of the box, as a gift, the dead body of that silly girl.
