„Yes, sure, Captain! We’ll wait for you here. Absolutely!” DooSan said, right before hanging up the phone. After that, seeing SolHi approaching him, he asked. „Something happened?”
„Yes, we found out the name of our „friend,” the lover of Parkour. Gu SilGi, 27-year-old. A good „friend” of the Juvenile Reeducation Center, by the way. The last time he’d been closed there was at the age of eighteen. Since then, nothing illegal has been registered in his name. Yet…”
„…this could be a coincidence or someone is helping him to hide his illegalities.”
„Exactly. More than that, both times he’d been caught by the police were for data theft and property cheating.”
„The same as Park Yu Ra,” they heard Gi’s voice behind him. After DooSan hung up the phone, still at the cemetery, he decided that they would need help and more people to investigate that case. That’s why he asked for the Kanam police’s help and Gi and his team were appointed to help DooSan’s team. It was decided this way because they knew that Gi and Kan’s team worked very well together.
„The second time when Gu SilGi was caught by the police, Park Yu Ra was arrested along with him for complicity. She was his girlfriend already,” Gi continued to read from the report he had in his hand.
„When did this happen?” DooSan asked.
„Eight years ago. Yet, we couldn’t prove the guilt of any of them then. That’s Why we had to leave them free after a few days.”
„Then, what happened a few days ago was a good play: the wound, the suffering for her missing friend, and all this to buy some time and find a place to hide,” DooSan said in an irritated voice.
„It seems to be so. Yet, what they didn’t take into account was that we would find out about the crime,” said Gi.
„You are right. What’s important now is to find out who was buried as Park Yu Ra. And… it’s GhiYon,” DooSan said, answering the phone call. „Tell me that you have good news, GhiYon.”
„Better news than these I couldn’t have,” GhiYon’s voice was heard in the speaker. „The victim died because of a heart attack. This probably happened when she had been attacked. Her name was No SuDjin. She was 24 when she disappeared, a year ago, around the 24 of May. Her family says that SuDjin came to Seoul waiting for a heart transplant because of a severe form of tachycardia, something that was life-threatening for her.”
„The 24th of May. The same day Park Yu Ra was declared dead,” murmured SolHi. „Yet, did they know each other? It would be too much to find out that Kim Ha Na, No SuDjin, and Park Yu Ra walked to the same school.”
„You are right, Detective Ian,” GhiYon said. „No SuDjin is from Busan. She came to Seoul waiting for the transplant. Kim Ha Na and Park Yu Ra are from Kongido, where we exhumed the body.”
„Something is strange about this,” said Gi. „The reason for the crime: if the two of them didn’t know each other, why did they kill No SuDjin then?”
„Because they wanted her money for the transplant,” Kan said, approaching them along with Yu.
„For the money for the transplant? But… How did Park Yu Ra find out about the transplant?” DooSan asked, confused.
„Ask him,” said Kan, pointing with his head to Yu. „Actually, who found out about this and investigated later was his son and the new member of our „family,” said Kan, grinning.
„SuJin?” SolHi asked.
„Mmm. SuJin and Gu SilGi have the same friends. And you, Detective Gi, know one of these „friends,” explained Yu, staring at Gi.
„Do I know him? From where?”
„Because he’s still here, in your custody. It’s the same person you arrested the same day as SuJin for trying to enter the National Bank Database. According to SuJin, they had to deal only with small transactions. Yet, a small part of the grouping takes care of the big fish and human trafficking. This is not only a supposition. Look here: A Rim found out that No SuDjin withdrew from the bank about 75 thousand euros the same day she disappeared. She transferred the same amount to a ghost account, money that was for the transplant as her family explained. Finding out this, I don’t think she used them for something else when her life was in danger.”
„Maybe you are right, Inspector, but… how did you find out all this? We just found out about Do SuDjin.”
„It’s because SuJin suspected that something was stinking in this story since he saw Gu SilGi’s face, SolHi. Nevertheless, he said nothing about this because he wasn’t sure. Now, finding out about the transaction and that Park Yu Ra might be a fake person, he made some conclusions and…”
„Now I understand why SuJin named himself „The Black Unicorn,” Gi jokingly said. „Your boy is good at this, Inspector Yu. If he decides one day to enter the police, I won’t let him work with you for sure. Now, let’s go to talk to his friend. I’m sure we’ll find out more details about this by talking with him rather than guessing.”
***
„Hey, Ko Gi Hiok, think before answering. This can help you to get only a few years behind bars,” SuJin told his friend, staying face to face with him.
„The traitor among us decided to be a hero,” Gi Hiok growled, staring at SuJin. „Anyway, I’m out of this. We are talking here about the Black Market, dudes! Even if I don’t go to jail, I won’t breathe after this. Why? Because they aren’t playing. They can kill me in front of the police station only to give an example to the others.”
„They? Who are they?” DooSan asked. He was with SolHi behind SuJin.
„I don’t know their name and I also never saw their face. It’s because I didn’t want to get involved in something like this. I have enough only with the small „things.”
„Not even if I ask for only 5 years instead of 10 behind bars?” DooSan ironically asked.
„This won’t help me in the grave,” Gi Hiok murmured, looking elsewhere.
„What do you want then? To help us, I mean,” SolHi asked.
„Minimum security jail. And… if it’s possible, only a few years there, it’ll be great. Anyway, I’m damned already!”
„Okay!” DooSan said after a few moments of thinking. „I accept seven years in a minimum security jail. Anyway, we weren’t after you while you were an accomplice only in this case.”
„Ia, Han DooSan, an accomplice only?” SolHi asked in a whisper. „They’ve been about to take the money of an invalid child. The only income he had to survive. How could you call him only an accomplice? He got a bonus for that service.”
„I also know this, trust me. Yet, it’s the child’s father who asked for the „service.” He also accepted that Ko Gi Hiok and the other guys didn’t know whose account it was.”
„You are the prosecutor. You know better.”
„What should I do?” Gi Hiok asked eventually.
„Help me to get to the Black Market!” SuJin responded instead of DooSan.
„Are you crazy? If those find out who you are, you are dead, dude. And not only you but the rest of your family too. It doesn’t matter to them that your father is a cop.”
„They won’t catch me and you know that.”
„They caught you already,” DooSan murmured. He was really happy that he was able to get revenge on SuJin for „My beautiful Nuna,” which he heard so many times before. Then, receiving an elbow from SolHi, he stopped smiling.
„Now you are wrong, Prosecutor. If they caught SuJin, it was because of me. I’ve been greedy and…” Gi Hiok said. „Anyway, SuJin: you are out of this. I owe you too much to let you in this dangerous game.”
„Then?” DooSan asked.
„I’ll do it. Anyway, I don’t have anybody to cry for me if something happens to me. And, if something happens, I can blame the police only to take revenge on you. More than that, Prosecutor Han: it’ll be a real pleasure to see you behind bars, paying for my death,” said Gi Hiok, grinning.
„It’s up to you if you want to lie to yourself about something like this. I… behind bars? Never!” After that, DooSan left the room, followed by SuJin at SolHi’s request. She, only with Gi Hiok in the Interrogation Room, put the laptop in front of him, telling him in a cold voice:
„Prepare everything and don’t even think to deceive me because I swear that you won’t ever leave the prison if this happens.”
„Your threats leave me cold, Detective Ian. Why? Because… this isn’t the first time I’m listening to them. What I’ll appreciate instead is if you take the cuff off my hand. It bothers me and… I won’t do too much with them,” said Gi Hiok, pointing with his head to his left hand that was cuffed by the table.
Reluctantly, SolHi took the cuffs off. After that, he stopped behind Gi Hiok, with her arms folded on her chest and staring at his hands that were writing fast, but she still could read, „I’m out, boys! Let the party start!”

Face to face with SuJin, in the Interrogation Room, two hours after he agreed to cooperate with the police, Gi Hiok squinted at his friend at first. Then, he hissed through his teeth, „Did someone tell you that you were a damn stubborn donkey? If they catch you, you are a dead man, dude!”
„They won’t catch me and you’ll take care of this,” SuJin replied, laughing.
„I’ll take care of this? How?”
„Check the „visitor” from the shadow,” said SuJin, smiling. Only then did Gi Hiok notice that there was someone else logged on to his account.
„Damn worm!” Gi Hiok hissed through his teeth.
„I haven’t heard this sweet word from you since long ago! Now, should we start or not?”
„We’ll start undoubtedly. Before that, tell me: did you explain to them well the rules of the game? If not, if something goes wrong, we are all dead.”
„Do you think they are new in this or what? Ia, Ko Gi Hiok, we are working here with the best! Trust me!” SuJin winked eventually.
Seeing his son so calm while doing bad things, Inspector Yu face-palmed. Then, gnashing his teeth, he hissed, „If he gets out from here one day, I’ll twist his neck for sure. I didn’t teach him this, he… damn…!”
He winced eventually, hearing Kan’s cheerful voice to his left. „Are you sure, Inspector? As far as I know you, your boy might copy you!”
„Whose friend are you, by the way?” Yu growled at Kan.
„Undoubtedly mine! Yet, he is right! The other one and not your son, I mean: if any of us fails in this game, we can end up God knows where.”
„Because of this, Prosecutor Han organized this charade, for us not to fail. What about A Rim and Yoon Suk? Are they in the hospital already?”
„Not yet. They’ll get there soon, and you follow them.”
„I? Why?”
„Because your prostate problems are bothering you, man! And… you are already admitted to the hospital. That’s why, I don’t understand why you are still here.” After that, pushing Yu from behind, Kan kept asking what that one was doing there and not dying in the hospital.

While DooSan was checking a file with Gi, both too focused on the data they were checking, he felt someone tapping his shoulder. Looking at that person, he saw SolHi staring into his eyes. After that, she pointed with her head, letting him know that she wanted him to follow her and, without waiting for his answer, she headed toward the door.
Her behavior confused DooSan. He definitely couldn’t understand what was in her mind at that moment. Even so, he followed her when he noticed that she looked back right before exiting the police station. Before following her, DooSan told Gi that he would return soon and gave him the file they were studying at that moment.
Out of the police station, DooSan looked around but didn’t see her at first. Only after taking a few steps, he saw her sitting on one of the wooden benches that were not that far from the entrance to the Kanam Police Station. Looking at her and seeing her so serious, DooSan understood that something happened. This made him cook his nose because the last thing he needed at that moment was to fight with her or more problems. Yet, having no other choice than to approach her, he did that eventually.
„Are you looking for a romantic date or something?” DooSan decided to tease her while approaching her. Yet, the moment SolHi showed him her phone, he kept silent and read the message Dja Iun sent to her, „Baby, sorry for today, but I can’t see you. What about having a romantic meeting in three days? I assure you that it’ll be damn hot.”
Reading that message, DooSan saw only the first word. „Baby?!” He suddenly growled. „Does this one see himself as your boyfriend already or what? And… I think that too many „babies” are around you lately.”
SolHi reproachfully squinted at him. „Is this everything you have seen in this message… that he called me „baby?” If yes, then… I assure you that you have some problems with your self-esteem, Han DooSan. So, it’s not my problem, just as I don’t have time for your nonsense remarks. The date Dja Iun talked about in this message…”
„I understood this from the beginning,” DooSan growled. He was pissed off. „It’s good that he wrote now. Thus, when Captain Lee comes, we have time to prepare the operation very well.”
„Captain Lee? Who is he?”
„From the Organized Crime Department. I also barely know him. We just…” DooSan stuttered, suddenly looking elsewhere.
„Forget it, okay?! I got the point. You should better tell me if you think that we’ll be ready with the operation before the date Dja Iun wrote in the message. It seems risky to me to…”
„I told you already: we have the Organized Crime Department’s support. As they are already on the way here, we’ll have more details when they come.”
„This seems too much to me, DooSan. To involve those from the Organized Crime Department is already too much. I think we could solve this problem alone if we had focused on the problem. This might be a fake alarm eventually.”
„I don’t think that’s only a fake alarm, SolHi. For God’s sake: we have a dead girl already and one is missing. We are also talking about human trafficking. This isn’t something we can handle alone. That’s why I called for backup: to make sure we won’t find Kim Ha Na as we found No SuDjin. Damn!”
„And do you think this is what I want? Of course not. Even so… I don’t know, DooSan, this seems too much for me. I feel that we are missing something in this story.”
„If it’s so, we’ll find out sooner or later. Anyway, I informed prosecutor Iun not to close the case.”
„And has he agreed with this charade?”
„Let’s say he had no other choice than to accept. Why? Because we are talking about human trafficking. He found it impossible not to agree. More than that, I just gave him the perfect reason not to close the case as others wanted.”
„I only hope we won’t regret this. Yet, as I see that there’s no chance to step back, we have to move on. So, tell me: if the Prosecution asks so insistently for this case to be closed, do you think that one of your bosses might be involved in this?”
„There is a probability for one of them to be involved, yes. At the same time, I don’t think that only my bosses are involved. The police can be involved in this too.”
„And this is concerning.”
„I know, but… there is nothing we can do. For the moment…”
„Prosecutor Han, someone is looking for you! Captain Lee and his team are here,” said Detective Mo. After that, without waiting for DooSan’s answer, Mo entered the building.
DooSan hesitated for a few moments. He was worried. Seeing him so concerned, SolHi asked, „Something happened?”
„Yeah, I would like to have another job. Yet, as I can’t choose now… just, let’s go!” After that, he headed toward the entrance to the building.
SolHi didn’t follow him right away. She still considered that the operation they organized was too risky for everybody. Even so, she wrote Dja Iun the answer to his message, „I’ll be there, baby! I assure you that I won’t lose the fun for nothing in the world.” After that, sighing, she rushed to catch up with DooSan, who was waiting for her in front of the door.

The monitor from Intensive Care was insistently peeping, telling everybody that there was a person whose condition was bad. Who was on life support was Yoon Suk, who played the role of a sick person. He, sitting on the bed and wearing hospital clothing, was trying to make himself look like a person on his deathbed. Nevertheless, no matter how much maquillage he didn’t put on his face, he still considered that it wasn’t enough.
Seeing Yoon Suk putting so many cosmetics on his face, A Rim squinted at him. Then, she asked him in an ironic voice, „Are you sure you did that before?”
„Yeah, every single day!” The young man responded in the same sarcastic manner. „Ia, Kan A Rim, do I look like a guy that adores wearing maquillage? No, right?! Even so, I also have a sister and I know how to do that. Yet, I won’t say no to a woman’s opinion. So, tell me: should I put more or no?”
A Rim sighed. In her opinion, his maquillage was really bad. Even so, she was afraid to tell him about this because she didn’t want to upset him. That’s why she only said eventually, „Use more purple. Especially on the lips.”
Unauthorized tale usage: if you spot this story on Amazon, report the violation.
„I’m already looking like Death!” Yoon Suk hissed through his teeth.”
„And?” A Rim carelessly said. „Does it matter that much if you put more purple or not? You are already dead in case you forgot this,” she added, pointing toward the noisy monitor.
„As though something like this can be forgotten. Not when you have such an „alarm” next to you,” he growled. „Anyway, I don’t understand why we had to be here and not others.”
„Because we are the only ones enough naive to be considered „stupid?” A Rim hissed through her teeth. „At least this is what that idiot thinks about us, Ko Gi Hiok.”
„Remind me to twist his neck when this is over,” Yoon Suk murmured, feisty.
„Stay in line. I’m sure that others also have such wishes.”
Both of them kept silent the moment Mina and a doctor of about 40 entered the hospital ward. Seeing them entering, Yoon Suk and A Rim stood up to greet them. This made Mina burst into laughter while Yoon Suk squinted, not understanding how she could laugh in that situation. Seeing him so pissed off, although she was still struggling with her laughter, Mina said, „No offense, detective, but… will you do the same when you are dead? I mean… will you stand up, bow in front of those who came to say goodbye to you, and take your own coffin on your shoulder just to head with it toward the cemetery?” Only then did Yoon Suk understand that he’d been wrong in getting out of bed when he was „dying.”
Even if he didn’t want to accept this, especially in front of a stranger, who so suddenly burst into laughter, Yoon Suk had to accept that he messed it up. Yet, he accepted his mistake by cooking his nose and saying, „Well, I might have exaggerated a little, doctor…”
„Pack Mina, psychologist,” replied Mina, still smiling. After that, she shook Yoon Suk and A Rim’s hands. Then, she turned toward the doctor and said, „He is Doctor Kion Gion Nan, the surgeon who works with similar cases that you… are playing tonight.”
„Nice to meet you. Kan A Rim, and our… „Sick person” is Detective Oh Yoon Suk. Well, sick is only a name,” she scolded her younger colleague.
Yoon Suk growled. „Did you have to bring me into the spotlight too?”
„I’m here for this, remember? To piss you off and bring you into the spotlight. Even so, I’m still afraid that you’ll give us to those who might come to „check” us! If they had been here and not the doctors, what would you have done, huh? Would you have just stood up and, bowing in front of them, you would have told them: sorry, boys, I’m here as the main clown?”
„Would you mind not to exaggerate now?”
„Am I doing this? No, right?! Why? Because you are still standing when you should have laid already. Or… should I say this louder?” A Rim hissed through her teeth. Thus, she managed to make Yoon Suk return to his bed. Yet, he did that mumbling „pleasant things about her.”
Their childish quarrel made Mina and the doctor smile while exchanging glances. After that, the doctor told A Rim, „Don’t be so rude to him, ma’am. Not everybody knows what pain means. More than that, he doesn’t have to feel it, but only to pretend to feel it when someone comes here. For the rest, he can act like any other day: talking to you or lying. Anyway, for the moment, only two nurses will have access to this ward and they know about the operation already. Thus, the police and the prosecution can act freely here because our patient was already transferred to the Hospital Hanil while other patients haven’t been assigned to this area yet.”
„May I know at least what he has? It’s to know what I should accuse in case we are „checked,” said Yoon Suk, sitting on the bed.
„Acute renal impairment. Actually, he’s waiting for his turn for a renal transplant. He’s also doing dialysis. That’s why the machine is working all the time. I hope it’s not too noisy because I’m used to hearing it every day, but others might be pissed off because of its noise,” said Doctor Kion.
„It’s bearable, for the moment. I just hope I won’t need another kind of doctor after this,” said Yoon Suk, smiling while looking at Mina. She, understanding the hint, smiled too.
„Don’t worry,” she suddenly said. „I have the perfect medicine for such „cases,” she murmured, punching her left palm.
„I must go now,” said Doctor Kion when his phone rang. „If something happens, you can call me. Doctor Pack, please explain to them the details of the case.”
„No problem, Doctor Kion. I don’t have anything else to do while my patient is here,” Mina made a joke. Seeing Yoon Suk’s sour face, she hinted to him to give her the makeup bag. „Did you make it?” She asked when Yoon Suk stopped squinting at her and gave her the makeup bag. „The maquillage, I mean.”
„Beautiful, isn’t it?” Yoon Suk happily asked.
„Like hell! Even a child can realize that you are only playing a role. So, allow the experts to take care of this. Otherwise, you can have a permanent one if others find out about your play.”
Although Yoon Suk knew that SolHi and Mina were friends and that SolHi could have told her about the operation, it still seemed weird to him that Mina knew that much. Because of this, he kept staring at Mina. Eventually, he even asked, „How to be sure that you won’t make this permanent maquillage to me?”
Mina, understanding the hint and that the detective didn’t trust her, smiled. Then, taking care of his maquillage, he said, „Simple: praying and asking God for me not to be the traitor.”
„Ha-ha, but not funny,” Yoon Suk murmured. „And if talking with the truth?”
„SolHi gave me some details about the case. Let’s say she did that because she knows me and she needs someone whom she could trust for this operation. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have told me anything ever.”
„And… since when have you two known each other?” A Rim asked.
„More than ten years. Why?”
„Let’s say I’m just… curious,” said A Rim, squinting at Mina. She would have liked to tell the doctor that she didn’t trust any of them since she found out that SolHi was involved in Han YuSan’s death. More than that, because of the same reason, she got to suspect any of those with whom SolHi had contact.
Although she was focused on correcting Yoon Suk’s maquillage, Mina hadn’t been deceived by A Rim’s „I was just asking.” Because of this, she continued to look at A Rim’s reflection in the monitor because she found the woman’s behavior suspicious. Thus, she saw that although A Rim pretended to be reading the magazine, she was spying on her from the corner of her eye. Looking at each other this way, the two women seemed about to explode because of anger. Even so, Yoon Suk didn’t seem aware of that. He simply closed his eyes and allowed Mina to spoil him with the touch of the makeup brush that was so gently touching his face.

„Have you lost your mind?” Mina shouted into the receiver when SolHi answered the phone call. „How the hell could you send this cobra to me, SolHi?”
„Cobra? Who are you talking about?” SolHi calmly asked, leaving the police station.
„Kan A Rim or what her name is,” Mina shouted again. „I have just met her, but I have a bad desire to twist her neck.”
„Already?” SolHi asked, laughing. „Don’t you think that’s too early, Mina? More than that, I don’t understand why you are so against her. She didn’t do anything to you, as far as I remember.”
„Yeah, she didn’t do anything to me, but this cobra seems to suck all the blood from your veins with the speed of a snail. And… I think she’s keeping an eye on you.”
„Nothing new anyway.”
„Do you mean you knew that?”
„Mmm.”
„And you didn’t do anything to impede her?”
„Why should I have bothered with that? Eventually, she won’t find anything to link me to the crime and will give up. I have enough problems already to waste my time with her. Especially with Han DooSan around me.”
„Maybe, SolHi! Even so, I don’t like this woman. She seems suspicious to me. More after she asked me since when we have known each other and…”
„Ia, Pack Mina, forget this, okay?! She only asked some questions. That’s all.”
„It didn’t seem like this to me. I think she and the sexy vampire are working together to find evidence against you.”
„It might be. Although I doubt this.”
„Why?”
„Because… Han DooSan is the kind of guy that works alone and from the shadows. A Rim instead is someone who gives herself away very quickly. And, trust me, I haven’t dealt with her only once at the office. Thus, as I got to know her a little, I think she’s working on her own to find out if I’m involved or not in Han YuSan’s death.”
„And this miracle? Don’t tell me she’s in love with the vampire.”
„Nea, I think it’s more about loyalty in her case. Why? Because… Kan A Rim and Han YuSan worked together before his death.”
„Now I understand,” said Mina drily. „She tries to win some points with Han DooSan while helping him to discover who his brother’s assassin is.”
„Honestly, I have no idea. Yet, it might be as you say. Anyway, I don’t think that you call me only because of A Rim, or yes?”
„Not only because of her. I just wanted to tell you that everything goes according to the plan and that you shouldn’t be worried about this. If something happens, I can handle this. Okay?”
„Yes, mommy!”
„Ha-ha, but not funny! What are you doing?”
„I’m listening to the crickets singing. And, as I’m busy, I say bye!” After that, SolHi hung up the phone.
„Wow, I can’t believe how shameless this woman can be. I’m worried about her and I’m calling her to tell her what I’ve found out while she… Ah, Ian SolHi, ah! I’ll swear I’ll show you one day who I am and what I can do. More than that, I promise you that I’ll show you what it feels like when you hang up the phone while one is talking to you. First, I’ll start with the Cobra from Intensive Care. What? Since when have SolHi and I known each other? As though this is something she had to know. Or what? Does she think we killed Han YuSan together and, to save our asses, we invented the story of amnesia? If she thinks so, I’ll show her how wrong she is. Moreover, I’ll show her what it means to step on the tail of a psychologist.” Angry, Mina suddenly entered the hospital. Doing this, she didn’t see the motorcycle that stopped for a few moments in front of the building. Not for long that motorcycle stood there: only until one of the motorcyclists got off it and headed toward the entrance without looking left or right.

„I’m in,” Gi Hiok said, making DooSan and Captain Lee attentive. They, right behind the young man, waited to see what would go next.
On the other side of the table, SuJin continued to write so fast that SolHi felt dizzy at one point. Because of this, she took a step back and rolled her eyes, something that made Kan smile. „What now?” She asked, feistily.
„Nothing. I just can’t get used to your habit.”
„Habit? Which one?”
„To look at me like a duck with only one eye?” Seeing SolHi about to say something nice to him, Kan smiled again. „I was just kidding you. Don’t take it personally. And, related to habits, I was talking about your obsession with controlling everything. Don’t even think to tell me that I have visions or I swear I will tear your eyes out. Why? Because… I’m sure that since SuJin has started to change the data of the patient with Yoon Suk’s data, you keep an eye on him. Or what, do you try to get a new job?”
„Absolutely. I even think of breaking into NASA’s system just to make sure the vampire over there has a reason to send me behind bars.”
„Actually, I hear you!” DooSan murmured.
„I didn’t say anything wrong but the truth. Anyway, let it go! And… you said you were in,” she told Gi Hiok. „Or were you simply boasting?”
„You should try it if you think that it’s that easy,” Gi Hiok ironically said. „Who knows?! Maybe we make sure this way that we see the light of the day tomorrow.”
His commentary drove SolHi crazy. Yet, she couldn’t get at him eventually because of DooSan, who stepped in front of her. Seeing her sparkling eyes because of hatred and understanding that she was more than capable of making Gi Hiok pay for his words, DooSan told her in a demanding voice, „You looked for it! So, accept the consequences now! More than that, he said the truth because, as I know you, you are ready to pounce on the traffickers too just to make sure you win.”
„Is it my fault now?”
„Did I say that?”
„Yeah!”
„Are you sure? And, more than that, why do I have the feeling that you blame me now?”
„Because it’s true? Or what, did you already forget that…?” She kept silent eventually, seeing the others insistently looking at them. Because of this, she told herself that it was wiser to leave that argument with DooSan for later because it wasn’t the right moment to turn him into a bald man. Not that she didn’t want this after she found out from Mina that A Rim was investigating the case on her own. She, although she let Mina think that she wasn’t bothered by A Rim’s investigation, it was only a mask. SolHi simply couldn’t believe that Han DooSan had fallen so down allying with the „secretary” as she called A Rim just to piss her off.
And, as she was about to explode, looking more like a time bomb than a human, she showed her fangs to Kan when this one decided that it was the right time for jokes and said, „What about showing your love later?” Seeing them squinting at him and ready to break him into pieces, Kan quickly changed the subject, „I was talking about the operation. Right, SuJin? Tell me you finished,” he begged the young man, looking for salvation.
SuJin, who was always on SolHi’s side, innocently looked at Kan. After that, continuing working, he told him, „Detective Kan, I’ll be grateful to you if you don’t make me part of your troubles. Not the other, but I have enough with those I’m looking for on my own.”
„At least you accept this,” DooSan mumbled.
Lee squinted at DooSan. Then, in a hissing tone, he told him, „At least you should stay away from this.”
„What did I do?” DooSan tried to defend himself.
Maybe they would have argued for a long time if Gi Hiok hadn’t asked them to be quiet. Then, Lee said, „The boy is right. He needs concentration for such things once he’s been accepted in the system.”
„And you should be grateful for this,” said SuJin, proudly. Seeing the others squinting at him, he decided to explain what he had in mind. If not, he would have been punished by Yu for sure. „I was talking about the fact that they accepted him so fast into the system. This is because many know Gi Hiok. Otherwise, you would have waited for months or maybe years.”
„Years?” DooSan almost shouted, staring at SuJin.
„That’s right! This is because they are suspecting everybody who tries to enter the Black Market,” Gi Hiok explained. „For the same reason, there are only a few intermediates in this system. The majority of those who are accepted as new members are only couriers as SilGi is.”
„Couriers? Do you mean that not the one whom you „made the order” brings the „goods?” SolHi asked.
„Yes, Nuna. Let’s say that the intermediates prefer not to let others know who they are. They prefer to sacrifice others,” said SuJin, sweetly smiling at her, something that made DooSan cook his nose and Kan smile when he noticed the Prosecutor’s sour face.
Suddenly DooSan winced when he saw another message under the one Gi Hiok had written already. „Oh, Ko Gi Hiok, back to businesses? I knew you behind bars.”
Gi Hiok answered at DooSan’s command. „As though the cops can keep me closed for long?! I gave them someone else and I’m out.”
For a few minutes, nothing else happened. „Do you think they are suspecting something?” DooSan asked and Lee shook his head.
„They are just playing the field. That’s why, if we rush, they can „smell” that we are trying to frame them up and will vanish. So, boy, don’t rush! Give them some time to be the ones who ask you why you try to connect them,” Captain Lee told Gi Hiok, who nodded eventually.
„Even so, I don’t know why I have the feeling that someone is keeping an eye on us,” murmured SolHi, looking around. The others, too focused on what SuJin and Gi Hiok were doing, paid no attention to her. This didn’t bother SolHi but gave her time to carefully look around. Thus, she saw the camera turned on when Lee told the other detectives that it had to be turned off. And, seeing it, SolHi touched Kan’s arm, showing him the red light of the camera and letting him know to follow her to the corridor.
Getting out of the Interrogation Room, they saw nobody in the corridor. Even so, SolHi was sure she hadn’t been wrong in thinking that someone had spied on them. She, to make sure of this, entered the Monitoring Camera, but she found nobody there. This seemed weird to her because, even if nobody was in that room, the camera and the mic were on. Checking the seat, she found it warm.
„Something happened?” Kan asked.
„Yes, sombe! Someone has been here not long ago.”
„It might have been one of Gi’s men or the Captain’s.”
„No, sombe, I’m sure of this. Why? Gi knows that he has to keep his men away from this place while Captain Lee, well… he records everything in another way.”
„In another way? What do you mean?” Kan asked her, extremely surprised. Looking at her, Kan saw SolHi showing him to look at Lee’s chest. There, he finally saw a small red light, barely seen, at the right part of Captain’s chest. „To be damn! He recorded us all this time and I didn’t even know about this. This is illegal.”
„Of course not, once you’ve been informed about this.”
„When?”
SolHi squinted at him. „Should I take this as a yes to my thought that you don’t read anything of what you sign? Sombe, it was written in the contract Lee gave us to sign. Yet, forget it. Can you find out who was here?”
„I can try! Yet, as I know those who work here, in the Kanam Police Station, I’m sure they won’t betray each other.”
„Even so, sombe: we should try to find him. And, let’s return to that room until Han DooSan doesn’t notice we are missing. If not and if something happens, he’ll blame us for sure.”
„I won’t even be surprised. Why? Because he’ll have the chance to get revenge on all of us.” SolHi, reproachfully shaking her head, left the room. „What? What now?” Kan shouted behind her. SolHi, even if she heard him, didn’t look back even for a second. This made Kan growl. Then he returned to the Monitoring Room and deleted the record. After that, still mumbling that SolHi didn’t appreciate him, he returned to the Interrogation room because he was also curious to find out how that charade would end eventually.
Too focused on mumbling, Kan didn’t notice the one who was spying on them from one of the corners. And, when Kan closed the door of the Interrogation Room after he entered, the spy returned to the Monitoring Room to check what they were doing there. Who was that person? It was a mystery because only his feet were seen while he headed toward the door at that time.

Focused on the camera, SolHi didn’t notice DooSan’s insistent glance. When Kan touched her shoulder and pointed to look at DooSan, she finally saw him asking her with his glance, „What was going on?” SolHi didn’t answer. She only shook her head and returned next to SuJin. Even so, behind the young man and pretending to be attentive to what he was doing, SolHi still glanced, from time to time, at the camera. Yet, in none of the cases, she saw the red light turned on again. However, this didn’t calm her down because she felt that someone was still spying on them from the shadows. Even so, even if she felt all this, she decided not to get out of that room again just not to give others a reason to suspect something.
Eventually, she winced the moment DooSan shouted, „Finally! They bit the bait! I can’t believe this.” After that, DooSan bent over Gi Hiok’s shoulder, reading once again the message they received, „And… what are you after this time?”
Gi Hiok didn’t answer right away because of Lee, who told him, „Don’t rush, son! Just talk to them as you used to do. Even if this means we’ll need more time than we expected.”
„Got it, boss!” Gi Hiok ironically replied. Then, he responded to the received message, „Pasta!”
For another few minutes, no answer was received. Only in the end, they saw the question „Which one?” on the screen.
„2+5. I had a hankering for it.”
„2+5?” DooSan asked in amazement.
„The second kidney, area five, back, down,” SuJin explained, smiling. Then, he kept silent the moment he saw SolHi’s reproachfully glance focused on him. This made him understand that she was damn interested to find out how he knew all that.
„I can find it. Delivery?”
„Intermediate,” replied Gi Hiok. Two minutes later, they received another message with four photos attached, under which was written „courier.” In one of the photos, they saw SilGi, whom Gi Hiok chose at DooSan’s command.
„Order received. Delivery on the 5th or 6th this month.”
Finding out the date, SolHi took the phone out of her pocket and checked the message. Then, reading Dja Iun’s message again, she told DooSan, „Prosecutor Han, it’s the same date Dja Iun indicated in his message.”
„Dja Iun? Who is Dja Iun?” Lee asked.
„A friend of Detective Ian. And… an informatory in this case. We asked him to help us with the investigation. What we didn’t expect was that they would choose the date for delivery the same day when the Parkour competition would take place.”
„This complicates things,” said Lee. „Just as I consider now that it has been a wise move to use another „patient.” They’ll play the field for sure.”
„I also think so,” said DooSan. „Detective Kan, tell the others that they might have a visit tonight. And… be very careful because we have only one chance to convince them.”
„Got it!” Said Kan.
Before leaving the Interrogation Room, SolHi grabbed Kan’s arm and whispered into his ear, „Also, find out who spied on us.” Kan nodded. Then, spotting DooSan squinting at them, Kan left the room.
DooSan didn’t allow Kan’s rush to deceive him or tell him that nothing happened. Because of this, he approached SolHi and asked her, „What are you and Kan planning this time?”
„We? Nothing. Yet, I’m not sure about others.” DooSan looked at her, confused. Then, he looked at the camera when SolHi pointed with her head toward it. „That camera was on not that long ago, something that hints to me that someone is damn interested in this case.”
„Did you leave the room for this?”
„Mmm. We tried to find out who was there. Yet, we found nobody in that room. Even so, we could check that the seat was warm and the camera was on. And… I’m also sure that he returned after this, although I don’t understand why he didn’t turn the camera on again.”
„It might be because he was afraid to give himself away. Yet, I’m sure he didn’t give up on his idea to find out as much as he can about this case. That’s why you and Kan should take care of this and not allow anybody to know what we found out. I’ll inform Lee about this too.”
„Got it! Now, I’ll get out of here and see if I find out something more.” After a few steps, receiving another message from Dja Iun, she read it and, smiling, showed it to DooSan.
„Don’t forget to take the „leash” with you,” Dja Iun wrote in that message. „We’ll need it to take the „dog” out for a walk.”
Reading the message, DooSan cooked his nose. After that, approaching SolHi’s ear, he hissed through his teeth, „Leash?! Remind me to twist his neck when this game is over.”

Wearing hospital clothing and having an IV fluid drip next to him, Inspector Yu was sitting on one of the chairs from the corridor of the hospital, not that far from the entrance to the Intensive Care. He seemed focused on the book he was reading, but even so, he was still spying on the corridor carefully. Because of this, the nurse from the reception kept an eye on him, considering him suspicious. Eventually, she approached him and told him, „Patient, I think it’s late already and you should go to sleep.”
Reluctantly, Yu looked at his wristwatch. „02:30,” he murmured. „Yes, it’s late already. I didn’t even realize how fast time passed. Yet, I can’t sleep. My roommate is snoring.”
„I can give you a sleeping pill if you want.”
„No, I’ll be just fine. As soon as I feel tired, I’ll lay on the bed and I’ll sleep like a baby. That’s why, don’t worry and take care of your work. I’ll go to sleep when I am ready.”
„Okay, sir! In case you change your mind, don’t hesitate to call me,” the nurse said, then moved away from him. She did that just in time as Yu thought because, while talking to her, he saw a doctor appearing in the corridor, a doctor that seemed weird to Yu.
The doctor seemed weird to Yu because he was just staying in front of a ward, spying on them from the corner of his eye. Yet, not only did this seem weird to the Inspector, but also the big ring he was wearing on the pinky of his left hand. This hinted to Yu that it was time to go to bed and yawned. Then, closing the book, the inspector stretched his back at first and, „struggling” to stand up to make sure he’d be considered a patient, Yu entered the ward and closed the door. He didn’t close it completely. Thus, staying by the door, he saw the guy sneaking toward the Intensive Care when the nurse went somewhere and left the hall unguarded.
Looking at the guy, Yu carefully investigated his features. Thus, he spotted the gun that the guy was hiding under the white coat, too tight for him. This let Yu know he was exactly the guy they were waiting for. That’s why he right away took the phone out of his pocket and wrote a message to A Rim, „We have guests! Be careful!” Then, when the individual looked at his door, Yu completely closed it to make sure the other man wouldn’t see him.
