CHAPTER 1: HELLO, MONSTER! HOW ARE YOU?

CHAPTER 1: HELLO, MONSTER! HOW ARE YOU?

„Just stay where you are, motherfucker!” SolHi told Chan Choli, an idiot she was chasing on the street at that moment.

How not to chase him when that crook has given her a headache lately?! More than that, she’d been forced to look for him everywhere in the last two years, not being able to find him. Only that day she could smell his track. And yes, he smelled… so bad that she could feel his stink from far away while chasing him, forcing her to wonder if he stood hidden in the den of a wild boar or something all that time or it was his natural stink.

Actually, she knew Chan Choli very well - a man about 25, who spent a big part of his short life in jail, known as a very important figure on the streets. Why? Well, it was so because of his ability to steal things. He started to steal at the age of fourteen while being part of a gang or something. In time, however, he started to like that job and did many shits after that, being considered a kind of golden mine among the thieves.

Yet, not this impressed SolHi, but the fact that it was very hard to catch up with him. That’s why she eventually screamed, „It’s so fast, this motherfucker.” After that, taking off one of the shower shoes she was wearing at that moment, she threw it after Chan Choli. Even so, she couldn’t hit the man’s back as she intended because of the big distance between them, but, because of the effort and not being attentive, she stumbled and went head over heels.

Rolling on the asphalt, right in the middle of the street, SolHi saw, in amazement, the lower part of her body - she was completely naked, something that made her wide open her eyes and think, „Damn, I did it again!” And yes, she did it. She ran after Chan Choli wearing only the jacket of one of her colleagues, too big for her. Because of this, when she went head over heels, the jacket opened, revealing the beauty of her naked body to the entire world. Even so, she was lucky and she should thank God for this because there were only a few old women and no men. Otherwise, her boss would have killed her for sure.

Thinking normally again after rolling on the asphalt, SolHi raised her head and saw Chan Choli jumping over the hood of a car that suddenly stopped behind him. Poor driver, he had probably been in shock to see an idiot jumping in front of his car from nowhere, forcing him to hit the brake pedal to the brim to avoid the impact. However, not the same thought Chan Choli had because, when he'd been on his feet again, he crossed the street as fast as he could.

Seeing him acting so confidently, SolHi reproachfully shook her head, mumbling, „He’s looking today for his death for sure.” After that, still mumbling, she stood up, and hissed through her teeth when she was also to her feet again, „Ah, son of a bitch, just wait! I’ll kick your ass so badly today that you’ll walk like a duck for your entire life, boy.” Then, when she felt that such words had cooled her soul, she ran after Chan Choli again.

Actually, that race, of the cat after the mouse, was an extremely difficult one. Why? Because Chan Choli wasn’t stupid at all: he knew the streets of Seoul City very well and, because of this, he afforded to jump over the hoods of the cars still in motion, at all bothered by the drivers’yells, who „blessed” him with all the good words that crossed their minds, such as, „Mentally impaired!” „Watch where you're going, idiot!” or „Are you looking for your death, motherfucker, or what?” Questions that received a very simple answer when Chan Choli showed them his middle finger. After that, he simply walked away.

Not the same fate SolHi had. She, suddenly stopping in front of a car that was heading toward her at full speed, saw her entire life passing in front of her eyes. Yet, she’d been lucky because the driver wasn’t at his first ride and stopped the car before injuring her. Of course, he told her something „nice” after that, something that SolHi didn’t have enough time to wait and hear what he said. She only waved her hand as a sign of apology and ran as fast as she could toward the Bridge that was crossing the River Han when she saw Chan Choli already on it.

In a couple of minutes, she was on the bridge too. Yet, to her great surprise, she saw that Chan Choli stopped, and did not keep running. He even looked at her grinning, something that confused her. Even so, SolHi also stopped, sketching a triumphant grin in the end while the thought „I caught you, motherfucker,” crossed her mind.

Yet, something in Chan Choli’s glance made her take thoughts: the fact that he was staring at her and grinning as though he was seeing a stupid naked girl in front of him. Well, not that it wasn’t true: SolHi was almost naked, but it wasn’t the point of that grin. Even so, not losing her temper, she told him confidently, „What, motherfucker, did you finally understand who you are dealing with?”

Instead of a verbal answer, he raised his right hand and, soon after this, he showed her his middle finger. Seeing this, SolHi frowned: she was unpleasantly surprised to see him showing her his middle finger. Moreover, when she heard the verbal answer, „You want this, bitch!”

„Bitch??” Yelled SolHi, ready to break him into pieces. She looked like a fighting dog at that moment: her jaw was shaking, just like her hands while her eyes widened too much, much more than she could generally open them. After that, she growled at him, „Wow, you definitely look for your death today. Why? Because nobody ever called me bitch and survived after this to tell others that he called me like this. And you… you won’t be an exception, Chan Choli! You won’t definitely survive after this.”

Saying this, SolHi was about to pounce on him when she’d been surprised by Chan Choli’s attack. Thus, he demonstrated to her that he knew how to fight and that he was pretty good at this. Yet, SolHi wasn’t an easy opponent either. She was well trained and knew how to fight, for it wasn’t the first time she was dealing with idiots like the one that attacked her. Thus, when he least expected it, SolHi kicked his stomach.

Her kick forced the man to crouch, feeling the pain deep in his stomach, like a sharp knife that was cutting him inside in very small pieces. However, this didn’t impress SolHi. On the contrary, looking at his face, she grinned with satisfaction. Yet, taking a few steps toward him, intending to cuff him, she’d been the surprised one eventually, hearing another „bitch!” coming out of Chan Choli’s mouth.

„What did you say?” She asked. Yet, not this was the question she should have asked though and she understood it soon after this when she heard Chan Choli yelling at her while spitting fire all around him:

A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation.

„You heard me, bitch! Damn! You are like a hunting dog: if you stub your teeth into someone’s throat, you won’t ever let him breathe again!”

„Should I take it as a compliment?” She tried to tease him.

„Yeah, sure! Why not?! Take this!” After this, SolHi had been forced to see his middle finger in front of his eyes again.

„You…,” she said, also spitting fire through her nostrils. Yet, after taking two steps toward Chan Choli, intending to teach him some manners, she stopped, seeing him climbing on the bridge’s rails. And, in just a shake, he jumped into the water.

His decision made SolHi slap her forehead and reproachfully shake her head while mumbling, „Oh, God! You are definitely a Saint if you can bear up with all the idiots that live on Earth.” After that, she made a large cross and whispered, „Amin!” right before jumping off the bridge.

„Damn, she’s in the water!” Kan yelled at his partner, Yoon Suk when he saw SolHi jumping off the bridge.

The forty-five years old detective was barely breathing while heading toward the bridge. Unlike him, Yoon Suk, who was younger than him, about 25 at that moment, quickly caught up with him while approaching him from the left. A speed that made Kan shook his head in the end, mumbling, „I’m definitely old.” After that, he stopped to catch his breath.

Yet, he right away frowned when he heard Yoon Suk’s question, „Who?” More than that, he cooked his nose when he noticed that Yoon Suk didn’t stop to wait for him but forced him to run again. Even so, he couldn’t keep his mouth shut, but told his young partner, „Who, who?! Our psycho, who?!” After that, roaring like a lion closed in a cage, Kan made the sign of a mad person by touching his temple while with the other hand, he pointed to the bridge off which SolHi jumped.

Surfacing, SolHi didn’t see Chan Choli. That’s why she frowned, hissing through her teeth, „Ah, damn idiot! Don’t tell me that I must save his ass right now too?!” After that, she sank into the water again to look for him. A difficult mission because it was almost impossible to see something underwater.

Yet, it seemed that she was the only one seeing nothing underwater because, suddenly, she felt someone touching the back of her head and pushing her to the depths of the river. Even so, even if this took her by surprise, SolHi didn’t lose her temper but started to fight with the enemy while a lot of thoughts, with the same message, „This idiot is trying to drown me!” were running through her mind. Nevertheless, not being too eager to die, SolHi suddenly stretched her arms to the sides, fighting with the water and with her enemy while trying to grab something. A difficult mission, but not impossible because she finally could grab Chan Choli’s coat even if it was wet and slippery. Then, by grabbing him by the coat and dragging him after her to the depths of the river, she managed to force him to surface too, looking for air.

In the light of the day, SolHi saw the bleeding wound on Chan Choli’s face and grinned, „He probably hit something when he jumped! This gives me the chance to take advantage and force him to accept his surrender.” She thought this not only because she was sure of her success, but also because she saw him constantly opening and closing his eyes, bothered by the powerful light that was bathing his face.

Thus, taking advantage that Chan Choli didn’t pay too much attention to her at that moment and that he was dizzy, SolHi fought against the cold water until she got by his side where she took him by surprise again, punching his nose several times. She didn’t stop even if she saw his nose badly bleeding and that he was barely standing at the water’s surface. Only when he stopped fighting against her, SolHi grabbed him by the collar of his coat and dragged him after her toward the river shore.

While SolHi and Chan Choli fought in the water, Kan and Yoon Suk stood on the bridge, staring with terror at them and asking God for a miracle. One that happened eventually when they saw SolHi dragging her opponent toward the shore. Then, they started to run toward the shore too, yelling at the other officers to go there too and help her with the prisoner.

Seeing SolHi struggling to take Chan Choli out of the water, Yoon Suk forgot that he was still with his shoes on and entered the river. Yet, he didn’t advance too much, only until the water got up to his knees, when SolHi could finally force the prisoner to stand up and, staggering to his feet, she pushed him to Yoon Suk, who grabbed Chan Choli by the arm and forced him to follow him to the shore. Once on the shore, Chan Choli couldn’t freely breathe but has been forced to walk again, this time toward the patrol cars that were waiting for him at the entrance of the bridge.

There, after Chan Choli had been taken by one of the officers, Yoon Suk looked back when he heard Kan telling SolHi, „Are you happy now?” while the detective helped her to get out of the water too.

„About what?” SolHi asked Kan, confused. Yet, she right away understood the hint when Kan touched his nose - he was talking about Chan Choli’s bleeding nose, a sign that made her exclaim, „Aaa, this… well, just precautions! I couldn’t allow him to kill me, right?” Then, not taking Kan by the arm as he intended, she got out of the water and passed by him, heading toward Yoon Suk, who was still waiting for her.

Her boldness made Kan shake his head and slap his forehead eventually, trying to calm down. Something that didn’t happen in the end, thanks to one of the officers, who gave SolHi a towel, which she intended to wrap around her body and take the jacket off. Seeing what she intended to do, Kan yelled at the officer and not at her, „Not a towel, fool! Or what… are you trying to kill us all or what? Just… put her inside o a car! Now! Oh, God, jail cries after us for sure.”

Seeing Kan’s cheap play, SolHi frowned. Then, she reproachfully shook her head and gave the towel back to the officer, looking at Yoon Suk this time when he approached her and looked at Kan too, asking the young detective later, „What’s wrong with him?”

„With Kan?” Asked Yoon Suk innocently.

„Yeah! Or what, did you see another clown around us?” After that, not waiting for her colleague’s answer, SolHi entered the car.

Her remark made Yoon Suk smile. After that, he approached Kan, staring at that one in amazement because Kan’s face was something definitely interesting to look at at that moment. Yoon Suk even asked Kan, in mockery, shortly after that, „Something happens, sombe?”

„Yeah, tell me we have a new uniform! Please!” Kan begged him, staring at Yoon Suk with wide-opened eyes.

Confused, Yoon Suk suddenly shook his head, „Uniform? What the hell are you talking about because…” He grinned eventually when Kan took his jacket off and threw it at the young man’s feet. „Aaa, you are talking about sombe Ian and about…”

„Yeah, it’s exactly what I’m talking about: about our psycho Ian SolHi and that jacket for men she’s wearing right now. And, honestly, I’m damn curious to find out where she took it from,” yelled Kan in an irritated tone.

Still smiling and extremely calm Yoon Suk replied, „Sombe Gi gave it to her!” After that, without paying too much attention to Kan’s acting, who was pretending to have a stroke at that moment, Yoon Suk turned his back on his boss, telling him in mockery, „I’m going to bring your medicine, clown! You’ll need it. Moreover, after finding out that before that jacket was a simple towel.”
