A painful slap knocked SolHi down. While falling, she hit the corner of the desk that was so close to her. Yet, she’d been lucky because she saw it on time and could protect herself with her hands. Otherwise, she would have hit it with her head for sure. Because of this, she felt the anger sneaking into her soul because she’d been slapped because of nothing by San DuSik, who suddenly stormed into the office and, before SolHi could react or understand what was going on with that crazy man, she saw herself on the floor.
The same hatred felt the forty-five-year-old man for SolHi. Maybe, he hated her more than she hated him. The reason? Nobody knew this, only San DuSik, who kept staring at her like a mad pitbull that saw a bloody prey. And, when he felt the anger boiling inside him with even more force, he took a few steps toward the place where SolHi was still on the ground, hissing through his teeth at her, „I can’t believe that such trash like you could do something like this to a decent man.”
„Watch your tongue, Prosecutor San,” Kan shouted at him, the moment he entered the office and heard what DuSik said. Then, when he finally understood what was going on there, mad, Kan tried to pounce on DuSik, yelling at him, „Damn idiot, I can’t believe that you did that.” Yet, Kan hadn’t been able to approach the prosecutor because of Yoon Suk, who knew very well what Kan could do when he was mad. And, because of this, when he spotted the sign SolHi made him, he hugged Kan from behind to impede him to make things worse. Just in time because Kan, who didn’t see and hear anything at that moment, was about to grab a chair by its back and hit the prosecutor’s head with it. He was definitely mad, yelling at DuSik that he wouldn’t allow that one insult his men and hurt them without reward and that he was more than able to protect them from such trash as San DuSik was in his eyes.
Driven crazy by Kan’s yells, DuSik turned to the detective, yelling at him too, „Keep your mouth shut!” Yet, seeing that Kan kept insulting him and struggling with Yoon Suk to approach him, DuSik, as though looking for the devil at any cost that day, took a few steps toward the detective, intending to punish this one too, just because he had dared to defend Ian SolHi.
Thus, turning his back to SolHi, he gave her the chance to stand up. Then, just as mad as DuSik and Kan were, she stared at him, throwing fire through her nostrils while squeezing her fists and gnashing her teeth. She was definitely ready to break him into pieces, barely holding herself away from him while shaking like hell. SolHi did that because she understood that it would bring her more problems. Yet, only God knew how badly she wanted to pounce on San DuSik and hurt him. She wanted to teach him how to treat a woman because, although she was a criminal in the eyes of everybody in that town, nobody ever had the right to hit her. More than that, she worked for the Prosecution at that moment and did nothing wrong, as far as she remembered. At least she didn’t do anything to deserve such treatment on San DuSik’s part.
Suddenly, when she less expected, DuSik turned toward SolHi, and, grabbing her by the clothes, he slapped her once again. Yet, to his unpleasant surprise, SolHi didn’t fall to the floor as the first time, but stood still on both feet, staring with hatred into his eyes. This definitely drove DuSik crazy and wanted to slap her once again. The third attempt was a failure, however, because SolHi grabbed him by the wrist and squeezed. She squeezed it so hard while hissing through her teeth, „Don’t ever touch me again, Prosecutor San, or I won’t be responsible for my acts!”
Hearing her talking so confidently, DuSik started to shake because of anger. „Are you threatening me right now?” He yelled eventually.
„It’s up to you to think what you want. Yet… don’t touch me or I won’t be responsible for my acts. Did you hear me, San DuSik?”
Grinning, even if he wasn’t that eager to do that, DuSik released her hand. He did that not because he was afraid of her, but because he saw that everybody in DooSan’s office was ready to break him into pieces if he had done something to SolHi. Yet, the moment he took a few steps back, to show his anger, he kicked the chair on which SolHi was sitting at her desk generally and it fell on the floor with a bang. Before falling, it hit SolHi’s knee, making her gnash her teeth not to moan because it hurt like hell. Even so, she didn’t move from her place but only glanced with anger both at the chair and DuSik.
In the end, when the pain from her knee was already gone, she looked straight into DuSik’s eyes, to whom she told, grinning, „As far as I can see, I just stepped on a snake’s tail if you act like this, Prosecutor San.” A hint right away understood by DuSik, who squeezed his fist to punch her. Yet, he didn’t hurt her eventually due to Kan, who, finally escaping from the trap of Yoon Suk’s arms, appeared in front of him, protecting SolHi this way. Kan has even raised his squeezed fist toward the prosecutor, letting him know that if he does one more step toward her or does something else, he will punish him not only for slapping SolHi but also for everything he said to her.
While staring at DuSik in anger, Kan definitely looked mad. He wanted to kill the man in front of him, who dared to hit one of his colleagues. A woman, who shouldn’t have been touched even in such cases. Thus, seeing and hearing nothing because of anger, Kan decided to punish the idiot in front of him by punching his nose. Something that didn’t happen eventually because of SolHi, who grabbed Kan by the arm and whispered into his ear while looking straight into DuSik’s eyes, „It’s not worth, sombe. Just let him bite his own tail, poisoning himself this way.” Then, simply turning her back to the two men, she walked out of the office.
DuSik, unpleasantly surprised by her reaction, pushed Kan from in front of him, following SolHi. He did that not to go to his office, but to catch up with her, punishing her for the insult because he felt offended by what SolHi told him before leaving the office. Yet, out of the office, he didn’t see her in the corridor. This made him roar like a maniac, calling her name and telling her to be careful wherever she would have gone or something bad could have happened to her. A roar that brought the other workers out of their offices, staring in amazement at the dement prosecutor that was insulting someone, and who didn't care at all about justice.
Eventually, seeing all those eyes focused on him, but nobody by his side, DuSik gnashed his teeth and turned his back to them to head to his office. Not before staring at Kan, who told him to be also careful while crossing the street because that world was a savage one and whatever could have happened to him while being in the street. After that, staring with hatred behind DuSik, Kan told Yoon Suk, „No word about this to SolHi, did you hear me?”
„Yes, sombe. But… I don’t understand why. She deserves to know what this idiot plans to do.”
„No. He won’t do anything. He’s only a dog that barks, but never bites.”
„Why are you so sure, sombe? He doesn’t seem to be a not dangerous man.”
Kan grinned. „Yes, he’s definitely a snake as SolHi has described him. One that bites when others less expect this and always only from behind. Nevertheless, he won’t touch SolHi.”
„Because of prosecutor Han?”
„Yes, because… even if Han DooSan considers SolHi his enemy and threats her badly whenever he has the chance, she’s still someone working for him. A worker that can’t be touched by anybody else except him. This makes her untouchable for others.” After that, turning his back to the others, Kan walked away. He did that to calm down because he knew that if he had stood in the office and had had enough time to think about what had just happened, he would have definitely been able to kill San DuSik after that.

1H BEFORE. INTERROGATORY ROOM.
Alone with Mire, who kept looking at SolHi with superiority, convinced that the police wouldn’t find anything against her and she’d be released soon, SolHi smiled. She did that when she understood that Mire kept silent only because she thought that she was safe. Yet, Mire didn’t know something SolHi knew. That’s why, when SolHi threw a pack of photos in front of her, on the table, Mire winced. Then, seeing that there were photos of Ha Ni and Shi Yon’s dead bodies, she swallowed hard and looked elsewhere. Mire did that because she had always been afraid of dead bodies and never liked to see one. Something she’d been forced to see in those photos… two dead women, but she recognized only one… Lee Ha Ni. Photos that made her shake like hell in the end because this made her remember that night when she killed her.
Yet, the moment she understood that by acting like this she could have given herself away, Mire straightened her back and looked straight into SolHi’s eyes, trying to intimidate her. Mire even said at one moment, pointing with her head toward Shi Yon’s photo, „Who’s she? Someone whom I should have also known?”
„Absolutely,” responded SolHi right away. „And do you know why? Because she’s also dead because of you and your lover. Cold-bloodedly killed by you two while trying to hide the truth behind Lee Ha Ni’s death.” SolHi said all this very calmly even if the hatred was boiling inside her. She was furious to know that Yun Shi Yon died because of her and DooSan, something that made her feel remorse too.
Mire ironically grinned. „Because of us? Have you lost your mind, Detective Ian? We never killed anybody. Don’t talk rubbish!”
The moment SolHi slapped the table with her fist, Mire winced and stared at the detective’s right hand, which was still squeezed in a fist and slowly shaking. This happened because SolHi disliked the manner Mire talked to her. Moreover, when she realized that even if two souls had been killed because of her, Mire felt no remorse.
That’s why, staring straight into Mire’s eyes, who kept weirdly grinning at her, self-confident, SolHi asked, „You didn’t kill her, you say? And who killed her then? Santa Claus?”
„What do I know?!” Asked Mire in a slightly mockery tone. „You should ask Santa Claus and not me.” A mockery that didn’t intimidate SolHi but enraged her. That’s why she grabbed the photos of the two dead women and, grabbing Mire by the neck, she forced her to look straight at the photos, hissing through her teeth:
„I ask you, not Santa Claus. So, be obedient and answer, Mire! Why? Because you are the only one who had a reason to kill Lee Ha Ni.”
„Maybe! Yet, I don’t understand why you blame me for others’death too. Or what, do you need a patsy for her death too?”
„No, I don’t need a patsy, but a criminal. The real assassin of two women. You.”
Suddenly, pulling herself back, Mire managed to release herself. Then, staring with hatred at SolHi, she hissed through her teeth, „Don’t look for criminals when there are only normal people, idiot!”
„Idiot? I and not you?”
„Yeah, right! Why should I be the idiot in this case? The one who talks nonsense is you and not I. Why am I so sure? Because you are accusing me of crimes that are only in your damn sick brain.”
SolHi burst into laughter, taking Mire by surprise. After that, when she calmed down a little, SolHi said, still smiling ironically, „You are definitely an idiot, Park Mire! Why? Because I never say something without evidence.” Mire frowned. „Yes, I have evidence that you are a snake that attacks from behind while cold-bloodily squeezing a golf stick in your hand. This happened in Lee Ha Ni’s case. With Yun Shi Yon you acted differently. You simply took advantage that she couldn’t defend herself and threw her into the water after drugging her. This makes you guilty for two crimes and you’ll pay for them two. Nobody else will be judged and sentenced for this.”
„Of course not! I didn’t kill anyone!”
„Maybe, but still… you’ll pay for this. Not Min SinJu, who maybe did that, but you. And do you know why? Because he chose to save his ass and not yours. He, to protect himself, got rid of witnesses, those who could have helped you to escape prison. Thus, you are the only one to blame for two crimes: Lee Ha Ni and Yun Shi Yon’s death. And I don’t say this just for saying! You are guilty because you’ve had a reason to kill Ha Ni: jealousy. In this poor woman’s case… you’ll be judged as an accomplice, who could have sent an assassin to kill her just because she knew something about the first crime. Thus, you will never escape prison, Park Mire. Never. Yet, why do I put myself into trouble, trying to explain the obvious to a mistress, who’s nobody even for the one for whom she killed someone? A nobody, as he thinks.”
„Nobody?" Said Mire, grinning. „This is what you think I’m for my Oppa? No, b…ch! You’re wrong now because he’ll take me out of here for sure. Just wait… he’ll do that for me!”
„Really?!” SolHi asked her ironically. „He’ll take you out of here? When exactly: before or after you’ll be serving your time? I’ll rather say never because he’s definitely not preoccupied with you. Moreover, he’s happy now that he got rid of you and… other flies that were driving him crazy. Thus, your Oppa betrayed you. And do you know in which way? By telling us that who killed Lee Ha Ni is you and not him.”
„You’re lying!”
„Why should I do that? I don’t win anything lying to you. I rather lose something because… I’d have definitely liked to close that rat and not you. Even if… you aren’t as innocent as you try to seem. And… to prove that I don’t lie, I’ll show you this.” Then, turning the laptop’s screen toward Mire, SolHi turned on the video with Min SinJu’s interrogatory:
„She asked me to pass by her apartment that night, telling me that she had something important to tell me,” said SinJu.
„And… you just believed her, huh?” Said Kan in mockery.
„I didn’t have a reason not to believe her, detective. Eventually, she’s the woman with whom I spend certain nights. Yet, I must accept that I’ve never got to know her for sure because… instead of telling me something important, I’ve seen Lee Ha Ni’s body on the floor after entering the apartment. Actually, I tried to call the cops, but she threatened me with killing me too if I say something. Then… she said she’d take her life too.”
„This is not true,” murmured Mire. „I never said that. Why is he lying?”
„Because he’s trying to save his ass and not yours. Yet, don’t worry: even if his lawyer saved him this time, with the Prosecution’s help, of course, I’ll find a way to send him to jail too. Thus, he’ll be yours forever, I assure you.” Saying this, SolHi stood up, intending to leave.
Nevertheless, she’d been incapable to take even two steps away from the prisoner when she’d been attacked from behind by Mire. Thus, hearing the noise behind her, SolHi managed to grab Mire by the arm right in time and throw her over her shoulder, trying to protect herself. Then, pressing her arm over the prisoner’s throat to immobilize her while staring with hatred straight into her eyes, SolHi told Mire:
„Nobody ever told you to get involved with such trash as Min SinJu is. One that never cared about you and who never had mercy on anyone. Yes, he never cared about you or others. He cared about himself only. Because of this, Yun Shi Yon died, killed by his gorillas only because she knew something about the night when Lee Ha Ni was killed. Thus, he made sure nobody ever would find evidence against him. And, to be sure of this, he chose you as his patsy, sending you to a maximum security prison… to pay for what he did. Well-deserved though because… you are a monster, Park Mire. A real monster.”
Releasing Mire, SolHi lifted the things from off the floor, heading toward the door eventually. Right before walking out of the room, she stopped, hearing Mire saying:
„You’ve passed through something similar, detective. Because of this… you aren’t a saint or different from me.”
SolHi deeply breathed in. Then, sketching a bitter smile, she looked at Mire, telling her, „Of course, not, Park Mire. We are different. And… do you know why?” Saying this, SolHi took a few steps toward Mire. Then, two steps away from the prisoner, she squatted and looked straight into Mire’s eyes, who was shaking like hell at that moment while staring into SolHi’s eyes too. „We are different because I’ve never dared to look into a detective’s eyes then. I felt miserable thinking that someone died because of me. This stopped me from thinking I was important or lying to myself that I deserve more than others, just as you are doing right now.”
„Nay. Who is wrong now is you, detective. We aren’t different. If carefully thinking about this, we are so alike. Why? Because both of us have sent someone to the other world.”
„Do you have evidence? That I killed someone?”
„I don’t really need them. Why? Because everybody knows whom you’ve actually killed that night. Someone important.”
Hearing Mire talking like that, SolHi suddenly burst into hysterical laughter. Then, when Mire didn’t expect this, she punched the wall behind Mire, making this one shake like hell. A shiver that didn’t impress SolHi at all because, still staring with hatred at the prisoner, she told her, „Don’t be stupid, Park Mire. We aren’t similar for the simple reason that I’m free now while you aren’t. And… something else makes us different right now: the fact that we have evidence you killed someone while I’ve been left free because of lack of them. Something that sends you to jail forever while I’m free forever.”

Saying this, SolHi stood up and headed toward the door. She stopped again the moment she heard Mire roaring like a mad person. And, slowly turning toward her, SolHi barely could avoid the hit of the chair the prisoner threw toward her, a chair that hit the wall to SolHi’s right, falling to the floor with a bang eventually. After that, like a mad person, Mire yelled:
„I’ll show you all what means to mess with a sweet girl like me. Why? Because you all are fools. Yes, I accept that I’ve been the one to hit Lee Ha Ni first. I did that,” Mire proudly said this, savagely grinning, something that still didn’t impress SolHi, who kept carefully looking at the crazy woman in front of her. „Yes, I hit her,” Mire added, cunningly grinning this time. „But I don’t regret this. I won’t ever regret this because… that bitch threatened me. She told me that she was able to take what was mine. She wanted SinJu. She… she… a pros…te, with whom he only spent some nights, thought that she deserved more. No, she deserved only what she got in the end: death because nobody will ever take what’s mine. Yes, I showed her that she didn't have to mess with me. I only defended what’s mine. Why should I pay for this though?”
„Because she’s dead and you are still alive?” SolHi asked in mockery. „Thus, if someone dies because of you, you pay. At least… you should have shown that you are sorry for what you’ve done.”
Mire burst into laughter. „That I’m sorry? For what? For defending my honor and my pride? Of course not. And, if I have to trample others under my feet to defend what’s mine, I’m capable to do this lots of times,” responded Mire, shaking like hell.
SolHi, only a few steps from Mire, looked at the crazy woman, thunderstruck. She felt confused because she never thought that someone could be as shameless as Mire was, who felt no remorse for killing someone. Yes, maybe it was true and she also killed someone, but she did that to defend herself and not her pride. That’s why she couldn’t believe that what Mire said could be a real reason to kill someone.
What overwhelmed SolHi eventually was what came next, „She came to my apartment that night, telling me to disappear. To me! To vanish from my house! Then… she attacked me. She attacked me and not I attacked her. I… I only defended myself because I couldn’t allow her to trample me under her feet. I even tried to make her leave, but she kept provoking me, attacking me. I even fell because of her. And yes, this made me understand that it was me or her. That’s why I grabbed the golf stick and I hit. Only once, I hit because… she had to vanish from the earth’s surface once and for all. She fell then. She fell because I hit only once. Something incredible because… I never thought that it was so easy to get rid of her. If I had known this… I would have done this long ago. Thus, I would have been free and happy.”
„And? Was it worth it?” SolHi asked in a calm voice. „To kill her, I mean. And… it wasn't only one hit. It was at least two: one that hit the back of her head, killing her brain, and the second one on the occipital area. Something that…”
„Who told you that’s me who hit her after that?” Mire said suddenly with that sick grin on her face. „I hit only once. Then… someone else hit her. Someone that wanted Ha Ni dead more than I wanted this. And that person… yes… hit her… repeatedly, enjoying those gasps and moans of pain.” After that, Mire started to laugh like a dement person. „It was actually funny… to see Ha Ni shaking and wincing each time she felt a blow on her head. It was delicious to hear the stick hitting her, hurting her.”
„What?” SolHi asked, thunderstruck because she definitely couldn’t believe what she heard.
„What you heard. Lee Ha Ni was still breathing when she was wrapped in that carpet. Yes, she was still breathing, but not for long because… that someone mistook her with a punching bag after that and hit… till he felt powerless.” After that, still laughing like a dement person, Mire sat on the floor.
Seeing her acting like that, SolHi looked at the camera that was still on. She was definitely overwhelmed by everything she heard by then. Yes, she couldn’t think normally at that moment. That’s why she looked for answers from DooSan, Yoon Suk, and Yu, who were still in the Monitoring Room.
Instead of answering her, DooSan happily grinned. „Ah, finally Min SinJu!” He said eventually. „I put my paw on you and I can’t believe that who has sent you to me on a golden tray is exactly the one I’ve always tried to get rid of. You don’t even know how happy I am that I can get rid of you both this way.” After that, with his hands in his pockets, DooSan left the room. Behind him, Yoon Suk and Yu exchanged glances because none of them understood what DooSan really meant by saying what he said.

ROOF. PRESENT
Sitting so close to the edge of the roof, SolHi looked in the distance. She looked sad at that moment, even if she didn’t feel this way. She only felt disappointed because life kept slapping her from all over even if she didn’t deserve that. Yes, she was sure of this: that she didn’t deserve to be treated like trash by San DuSik because… all she wanted was to make justice to Yun Shi Yon, who died because of nothing. She did everything to punish the criminal, but the punished one was she eventually.
All this made her understand that the entire world was unfair to those considered guilty of something, and she was guilty of someone’s death. At least this was what others thought about her and she couldn’t prove the contrary. That’s why, everything she could do at that moment was to look in the distance while hiding on the roof, swallowing her pride. Then, when she was again ready to fight against the entire world, to stand up and move on. Something she was sure she’d do eventually. Yet, she needed more time for this because… being treated like trash hadn’t been ever something she could get used to.
Eventually, when she heard DooSan’s voice behind her, who asked, „Are you trying to understand the whole world right now or what?” SolHi winced and looked to her left. There, she saw the man. He was stopped a few meters from, but he did not stay there for long. When she looked at him, DooSan continued advancing until he got only one-step from her. After that, smiling, even if SolHi thought he’d look like a predator at her for what happened in the office when he asked her not to get into trouble, DooSan looked straight at SolHi, who was staring at his right hand, which was bandaged at that moment.
Catching his glance focused on her in the end, SolHi looked elsewhere, mumbling, „At least the walls aren’t punished because of my madness by staying here.” A remark that made DooSan smile, even if it was meant to provoke him in one way or another.
That smile wasn’t because of happiness anyway, but because he understood the hint. She saw his bandaged hand and, probably, she understood what happened, even if she didn’t know the reason why a wall had been punched by him. Even so, even if he guessed that she was wrong in thinking about his fit of anger, DooSan decided not to make things clear, but sat by her, on the edge of the roof, something that took SolHi by surprise because she knew that Han DooSan was terrified by heights. Yet, at that moment, he sat next to her. A movement that made her frown eventually and say, ironical, „This is the edge of the roof, Prosecutor Han. A place from where one could land down there, upside down.”
„Why?” DooSan asked her, innocently, a question that made SolHi confused. „I mean why do you clarify this to me? Do you intend to get rid of me this way?” Yet, even if he said this jokingly, looking down, he started to shake slowly because he definitely hated heights. Something SolHi seemed to adore and one more thing that made them so different from each other. Understanding this, for the x time, DooSan looked at the woman that stood silent by his side, looking in the distance. She didn’t seem eager to talk or explain things. That’s why he rushed to do this in her place, „Well, if this isn’t your intention, I’ll stay here too. If you don’t mind, I mean. Or yes?”
SolHi finally smiled. „As though if this bothers me, you won’t do it. Anyway, why are you here, Prosecutor Han? I don’t think you’ve just passed by because you wanted so badly to see the roof. Something you definitely hate.”
„And you are right again: I hate this place. Yet, as this roof is something you adore, a damn dangerous place, in fact, I decided to check it because… I’m not that eager to find your body on one of the cars after jumping off here. Because of what happened today.”
SolHi squinted at him. „To jump? I? When?”
„Today?! Tomorrow?! What do I know?! It’s something you seemed to have intended while you stay here. Or… is this a kind of hobby? To sit on the edge of the roof, I mean.”
„No, this isn’t a hobby, but something that relaxes me.”
DooSan stared at her like an idiot. „It relaxes you? To know that you can plunge upside down any moment, aware that down there isn’t a pool or something to land on or in? Wow, damn expensive pleasure, in my opinion. I, for example, adore the fried meat, not landing on the asphalt.”
„Keep your bad jokes to yourself, Prosecutor Han, ok?! Why? Because I’m not that stupid to do you this favor. To you or to anyone else, even if it seems like I have enough reasons to jump. Something I won’t ever do. Why? Because I love life and I’m not stupid to end it. At least not until I’ll prove to everybody that they’ve been wrong about me and I didn’t kill anybody that night.”
„What if you can’t prove this ever? What if you remember that you really killed someone that day?”
„Then: I’ll jump. Right from here if necessary. Yet, the day I’ll decide this, it’ll be because of a strong reason, aware that all that I suffered all these years had been well-deserved. I’ll do it… with no remorse, no regrets, without even crying. Thus, you’ll get your revenge, Han DooSan, for losing your brother that night.” Saying this, SolHi stood up, intending to go. She stopped eventually when she felt DooSan’s hand grabbing her arm. A movement that surprised her a lot and made her stare at him, in amazement.
When he grabbed her hand, DooSan was still sitting. That’s why, the moment he felt SolHi’s glance focused on him, he looked at her and saw her in a different light. She looked so important at that moment while he looked so small. A perfect illusion that made him doubt for a few seconds who of the two was the guilty one and who the victim was. Yet, not being able to clear his mind so fast, he practically jumped to his feet the moment he understood that he didn’t want to look small in front of her. For an unknown reason, DooSan wanted to be important in her eyes, a real man.
Seconds of staring into the other one’s eyes, DooSan finally reacted. He bent a little over her as though intending to kiss her. A movement that made SolHi lean a little back, trying to avoid a kiss this way. Yet, instead of a kiss on her lips, she felt his cheek touching hers, something that made her shake a little inside. Then, she heard his whisper into her right ear, „You won’t ever have this pleasure, Ian SolHi! To jump off here and finish what it seems that you’ve started. Not until you’ll really feel what it means to be punished for killing a man like YuSan. And, if it’s necessary to die while being here, I swear that you won’t jump, but you’ll fall. Why? Because I’ll take care of you landing off this building upside down, over a car. Only this way I’ll definitely feel I’m revenged. I swear.”
Hearing him talking like that, SolHi swallowed hard. She reacted like this not because she was afraid of him, but because she understood that he’ll make her suffer even more from that moment. A thought that impeded her to notice that DooSan said one thing while acting differently. His own heart betrayed him at that moment because it madly beat in his chest when DooSan tried to look serious and self-confident. It happened because of the last-night kiss, something he remembered so well, something that he wanted to repeat because of that lavender scent he felt coming from her. And, so suddenly, moved by an unexpected impulse, DooSan kissed her again.
The kiss took SolHi by surprise. Because of this, she took a step back, trying to move away from the man that seemed so involved in that kiss. Something she couldn’t avoid eventually because DooSan, feeling her moving back, touched her back with his palm and pulled her toward him, sticking his lips more of hers. Thus, with his eyes closed, he enjoyed that moment. He enjoyed the kiss with the enemy he swore to kill. With that enemy whom he threatened to push off that roof only seconds ago, but who seemed to be someone who helped him to reach Heaven at that moment.
While staring at his eyes closed, SolHi looked confused. She couldn’t understand the reason why DooSan kissed her again. Even so, the moment she felt the warmth of his chest touching her chest and their hearts beating at the same time, she closed her eyes too, falling prey to that moment, allowing that kiss to control her desire and mind.
Yet, even if she wanted it to last forever, that kiss ended so soon after that. It lasted only moments, even if it had felt as though it lasted forever… the moment DooSan allowed her to take that step back, afraid not to fall for her irredeemably. Yes, DooSan started so suddenly to be afraid of losing himself in her dark eyes, in the warmth of her body, driven crazy by her arms that touched his arms, and because of that lavender scent that was felt on each inch of her skin. It was something that really made him feel strange. Because of this, he touched his lips with his fingers after licking them a little. Thus, he felt that kiss more intense. One he never experienced before, he was sure of that. Only… „Only with that stranger,” he caught a thought crossing his mind the moment he remembered the kiss with the stranger in that motel room. „No, it can’t be!” He suddenly chased that thought away, loudly telling SolHi, „It has been only a kiss, Ian SolHi. A kiss of death. So, don't get your hopes up too high, ok?! I kissed you because I wanted to send you a message: enjoy this life as much as you can, but never relax. Always think about me, the one who’s around you, breathing down your neck, and waiting for you to take a step wrongly and fall. When this happens, I’ll be right there, to kiss you one more time, right before throwing you off this roof.” After that, he turned his back to her and headed toward the door, to leave that roof as soon as possible because, even if he said those words to hurt her, the only thing he managed to do was to hurt himself more because… he felt exactly the opposite of what he said.
He didn’t turn back, not even a second, to look at the woman he left behind him. A woman that seemed thunderstruck after that kiss, which got on top of her, and who was incapable of doing at least something to control her emotions. DooSan did that because he was afraid. Yes, he was afraid not to fall into her arms again and kiss her hot because this was what his mind and his heart yelled at him to do at that moment, „Just kiss her, DooSan! Allow yourself to be bewitched by that lavender scent and by her skin! Be happy because… you deserve it!” Yet, being stubborn, DooSan just ran away because more intense than the desire to kiss her again was his revenge, something that controlled him for years and didn’t allow him to give up.
The moment the door closed behind DooSan with a slam, SolHi’s eyes filled with tears. It wasn’t because of fear or because she felt hurt after being kissed by DooSan, who seemed to use her only. No, she cried because her heart yelled at her to be happy too. Yet, she couldn’t be while she wore a big black cross on her shoulders… a cross that reminded her of someone’s death.

Practically running down the stairs, DooSan was thinking about a lot of things at the same time. Especially, he remembered the fact that he climbed onto the roof to make sure she was fine and not to hurt her more. Instead, he kissed her, something that made him feel weird because… he started to think about her more and more, and, instead of hurting her as he imagined when they started to work together, he wanted to make her happy. „As though you’ve lost your mind, Han DooSan,” he scolded himself in the end. „I really don’t understand what’s wrong with you lately. First… you kiss her. Not only did you kiss her, but you did that involving yourself so much. Then… you saved her, afraid to lose her. After that, to top it off, you punch someone, protecting her. This is what makes me think you are crazy, idiot!”
Yelling all this in his head only, DooSan stopped. His breath was shaky and his heart was madly beating in his chest while a strange buzzing was heard in his ears. It wasn’t because of the run onto those stairs, but because he felt weird, so suddenly, that he left her behind. A thought that made him look back and want to turn to the roof, hold her hand, and force her to follow him. Instead… he just descended those stairs, one by one, in a slow step.
While doing this, DooSan remembered that, half an hour before, when he turned back to the office after being in Court, he found out what San DuSik did to SolHi. Actually, it was a secret known by everyone in that office already. That’s why it hadn’t been hard for him to find out this too. Moreover, after entering his office, he heard Kan yelling like a desperate man, that never in his life had he met such an idiot, capable of slapping a woman, a detective, just because she did her job. And, on top of it, that idiot, San DuSik, who named himself prosecutor, working for justice, called a detective criminal, even if she was free because the Supreme Court of Justice decided this, for which it was supposed he worked too.
Hearing this, DooSan decided that it was time to stop San DuSik, whom he already hated so much after he found out that DuSik did a lot of shit to YuSan while they worked together. That’s why, after throwing the files on the desk, making everybody in the office wince and stare in amazement at him, DooSan left the office, slamming the door behind him. A reaction that made his colleagues stare at each other, confused because they never saw DooSan acting like this. At the same time, none of them was sure if DooSan did that because of what happened to SolHi or because of something else that could have happened that day.
Yet, DooSan did that because of SolHi, even if he tried to convince himself that he acted like this because of something more. Inside him, a big storm started after he found out that another man dared to touch her. Yes, he didn’t want anybody to touch SolHi, even for such things. Moreover, he simply went crazy the moment he heard she suffered. It happened because he considered SolHi his, even if, in front of everyone, he called her his enemy.
Thus, even if he wasn’t able to clarify his own feelings, DooSan decided to show everybody that his people were untouchable. Even his enemies. That’s why, five minutes after he left the office, DooSan entered DuSik’s office, slamming the door by the wall when he opened it. This amazed DuSik a lot, who was sitting at his desk at that moment. And, while staring at DooSan with pumped eyes, he saw him approaching him like a mad bull that saw red in front of his eyes. A reaction of DooSan that finally made DuSik understand the reason why his colleague was there: Ian SolHi.
DooSan’s madness made DuSik understand that it was time for him to run away if he wanted to live. Yet, he’d been unable to leave office because, after standing up and surrounding his desk, trying to surround DooSan too, DuSik had been grabbed by the collar of his jacket and pushed against the wall. After that, pressing with his elbow on DuSik’s throat, DooSan stared into his eyes while hissing through his teeth, „If you allow yourself to touch what’s mine at least once again, I swear I will kill you, San DuSik. Did you hear me?”
DuSik ironically grinned instead. „I can’t believe that gossips are real,” he said in mockery.
„Gossips? What the hell are you talking about?”
„That you and… your brother’s assassin love to play certain bed games?” After that, winking at DooSan, who looked at him, confused, DuSik touched DooSan’s tie, pretending to tie it. „Actually, it’s not something to bother me eventually. You definitely can play with her. Even sleep with her, you can. I, however, do everything to make her pay for what she did. So, instead of acting like… this, you should say thank you to me for slapping her. Eventually, I did you a favor because… your brain doesn’t think right now. Only your… lower one?” Said DuSik, glancing in mockery at the lower part of DooSan’s body.
A punch knocked DuSik down eventually. While falling, his head hit the wall twice, making his ears buzz and his brain feel dizzy for a few seconds. Even so, DuSik clearly saw DooSan approaching him. Then, he saw the man in front of him squatting and, while threatening him with his fist, DooSan hissed through his teeth, „I hope I seemed grateful enough for what you did, San DuSik because… I love to say thank you to others for such „favors.” And, to inform you about something: I hate when others poke their noses in my business, and I can thank them only this way. Especially when others try to make a profit from my work. So, San DuSik, keep this in mind when you decide to do something similar in the future: I’m not YuSan. I’m not a nice person as he’d been because… maybe he was able to forgive you for every single shit you did to him, but I won’t. I, if someone touches what’s mine, I’m able to kill. So, stay away from me or my men, idiot, if you want to live.” After that, so suddenly that DuSik started to shudder, DooSan punched the wall to DuSik’s right, leaving the office seconds later.
Shaking like hell while staring at the red mark of blood left on the wall, DuSik sighed. He was definitely terrified and confused at the same time because he never thought DooSan could act like this. Yet, it happened and he had to get revenge for his bloody lips, which he touched in the end, making a phone call. „She talked,” DuSik said when the person he called answered the phone. „Park Mire told everything to Ian SolHi. Something that makes me think it’ll be a good idea to get rid of both of them.”
