Chapter 4.1: Mortifying

SoraChan’s POV

I think I used my two hours pretty wisely. I wasn’t sure how many FPs I would need for a suitable power but I am sure I would need quite a few. Just to be on the safe side I kept 20 points aside for another guardian and another 20 points for power. In all I spent 55 points on my new body.

I click the display for confirming my new body. I took a bit of everything I could find. Initially, I was replacing body parts but then I realized I could transfer specific attributes if I wanted to. However, that wasn’t such a good idea. If you only transfer all the good features of a specific creature and none of the bad ones you lose more FP.

Here is an example: If you add werewolf strength without the conditions of moonlight etc. It costs a whooping 5FP. However, that same feature only costs 2FP with the constrain.

I also ran into another issue; compatibility issue. While it seems you can combine attributes the same is not true for their flesh.

Example: I tried using a cursed mummy’s hand with a holy sage’s heart. I received a message saying that either organ might stop functioning due to compatibility issues.

As common sense dictates, I avoided as many compatibility issues as possible.

This issue was not limited to just flesh but also properties. Like I could have one property that said can cast black magic and another that said is completely immune to holy magic. The two properties ended up cancelling each other.

I was initially slow but I think I managed to do a pretty good job of it.

With my two hours nearly finished, I click on “Accept new body”

Another blow to my head - what the hell is up with this game? Does it like giving players pain?

When I woke up I found myself in complete darkness. My body was searing with pain all over.

Compatibility issues?

Three creatures detected. Distance: approx. 250 meters

Ah that was a new feature of my body. I smiled in delight. A map opened up which displayed all the obstacles in front of me; there were none. I was in an empty room with one way out.

Scent picked up.

Scent recognized: Abbe Faria, Maylon, Garzala.

That too is another feature of my new body.

Pretty cool right?

I can see light at the end of this corridor.

Adjusting night vision.

Woah! Suddenly my vision got a lot better! Yes! You guessed it! This too is a new feature of my body.  I went all out with making my body pretty amazing.

As my vision adjusts I can see my guardians in the distance. Were they always this short?

No I guess it’s my legs…

I can see Maylon; with my new eyes I can see her up close even from a further distance…even in the darkness! She looks delicious.

“Master?”

Oh her voice is so sweet. I want to gobble her up; literally.

“Coming…” My voice is really husky now.

Pheromones released

Oops - purely accidental there.

The Abbe stepped up. “Dispel”

Is this guy a mage? I am liking him more and more….he smells delicious too…but NOT that kind of delicious! My nose is tell me that he is strong…but the Garzala next to him is even more delicious…I am hungry. I want to eat them.

Yeah….this is also a new feature of my new body. Remember, how I noticed that constraining my body increases total available FP? This is a constrain. I maybe over powered but there are chains which make me vulnerable if not dangerous.

I really need to control myself.

I am finally out of the corridor and into the light.

“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA” Maylon’s screaming is LOUD! But this is only so because my ears are now more sensitive.

Lucky for me she faints.

The Abbe Faria is looking at me with fear.

The young Garzala has two daggars drawn out. He is hissing.

Target 1: Unconscious. Target 2: Frozen in fear. Target 3: Threat.

I am not sure how I look in the mirror but it must be pretty bad. Maylon just looked at me and fainted. Sorry, let me correct that, she screamed and then fainted.

“Abbe, it’s me.” I finally speak.

After some time…

“For the love of God…” the Abbe whispered. “I have never seen something so frightful in my entire life…”

I smile helplessly.

“AAAAaaAA” The Garzala screamed when he saw my teeth. They weren’t pretty…more like fangs…crooked fangs….got them of something called the bog monster.

The Abbe too took a few steps back. “Is that really you SoraChan?”

I simply nod. Best idea is not to smile right now. My teeth must be looking pretty bad.

“I REFUSE TO SERVE SUCH A MONSTER!” The young Garzala boy declared from behind me.

Now I must say it was a weird sensation being able to see both in front of me and behind me at the same time.

“In all my life I have never seen such a monster…” The Abbe kept repeating the same words.

I think he was in too much shock. He was turning white in colour.

The young boy was carrying himself bravely as he tried encircling me.

However no matter where he went my eye simply followed him. I think it might be better to describe it as snail like eyes?

They sort of protruded out of my head….

The Garzala boy rushed towards me. Oh  boy. He’s attacking me in fear.  “Hey stop!...” I try warning him…

He stabs me in the torso with one of his daggers.  It hurt slightly. But I think I hurt the pride of the young boy more. He was also looking very shocked. His entire hand went into my torso along with the blade and was stuck there.

“Can you stop moving…” I move my hand closer to pull him out but the little b*stard sticks his other dagger into my torso as well.

Great now both his hands are stuck in my body.

The Abbe watched all this unfold before him; petrified like stone.

I think I like the boy the best. He doesn’t seem to be a wimp. He also seems to be the most delicious. I can taste him now.

The boy looks at me terrified.

Fine I am letting you go.  I let go of his arms from my torso.

Thankfully,  most of my body is slime.

At this point, I think it might be best to say I am a monster.

The Abbe and the Garzala fainted.

I think I am really liking Ruler of Rules.
