Before the Erito guards could even react, one of the Norito’s soldiers kneed Stalsbourg – adding the confusion. Why the heck would Stalsbourg’s own man attack him? Mutiny? Spy?
Then the bewildered soldier who kneed his own boss (Stalsbourg), kicked Vanessa in the torso, who groaned loudly in pain. Stalsbourg attack only worked because her defences were low. However, the gauntlet an artefact class weapon and amplified the damage. Hence, Vanessa took damage and now lay on the ground groaning in pain.
Before the confused looking soldier could explain what he was doing, one of the Erito soldiers simply sliced his head off. The two Erito forces were Vanessa’s bodyguards and right now they failed to perform their duty; Vanessa was lying injured and needed to be moved to a safer area.
Seeing one of his comrade die and realizing the seriousness of the situation, the remaining Nortio Milite quickly moved to defend the shocked Stalsbourg. Stalsbourg in fact was so shocked with his own actions that he could barely speak let alone move. What made these circumstances even more adverse for the Norido soldier and commander was the fact that it was happening in the Erito’s encampment. It was likely that neither of them would be able to escape from this unscathed.
The clanging of swords grabbed the attention of two or three Erito’s archers who were guarding the encampment from roof tops noticed below Vanessa lying on the ground covered in blood. They understood very little except that Norito’s commander and a soldier were fighting their comrades below and their own commander lay on the ground injured. Like any sensible and rational man, the archers did what they knew. They fired several rounds of arrows at the enemy; the Norito Commander.
However, Stalsbourg was able to dodge most of them. He had regained his senses and was no longer in shock. He just attacked a fellow commander for absolutely no reason – if Vanessa dies then he would be executed as well. Stalsbourg was scared and he knew he had to save Vanessa for his own sake. Stalsbourg did the only thing he could do at the time; retreat. As he retreated, he got hit by two arrows in the shoulder – luckily they only pierced his armour and not his flesh. Stalsbourg would forever remember the body guard who was still holding back the Erito forces as he made his escape.
Stalsbourgh tripped several times as he ran back. He had taken quite a few wounds while escaping from the Erito soldiers. With great difficulty he returned to his own encampment and shocked the Norito soldiers who were packing up. There was a long silence as everyone stared at Stalsbourg.
The Commander of a legion of soldiers was bleeding and had arrows protruding from his back. The site of their commander injured while being chased by some Erito soldiers only summed up to one conclusion; the Erito have finally shown their true colours.
Before Stalsbourg could say or do anything his soldiers rushed past him and began attacking the Erito’s soldiers. It would have been enough if they just defended their position but seeing their commander injured, the soldiers were enraged and lost all reason. In fact, since majority of the Norito forces hated the Erito forces for their special privileges and treatment for being ‘Elite’; this was the Norito’s forces revenge. This was their spite against the discrimination they endured.
The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
In fact, more soldiers from the Norito joined in after hearing the clamouring of weapons. Most of these soldiers had no idea why their friends and comrades were fighting the Erito but this was a rare opportunity, so more Noritos joined the attack which was happening at their base.
So blinded by rage were they, that they could not hear Stalsbourg’s scream imploring them to stop. Realizing his efforts were futile, Stalsbourg retired to the medical tent to get healed and then take care of the situation.
Surely it can’t escalate further than this.
***
If Stalsbourg thought this was the worst, he couldn’t be more mistaken.
With the help of magic crystals, communications were quickly set out that the Norito and Erito were fighting each other. So quarrels broke out at everywhere.
Even before word got out through magic crystals, the scene unfolding in Feladonia…was rather unexpected….soldiers fighting soldiers? It started with a slap from the Norito to the Erito….and then a punch….and a few kicks….soon enough swords were drawn out and soldiers were exchanging stabs.
Then the Erito forces received word that Vanessa had been killed by Stalsbourg and Norito’s forces received word that Stalsbourg was gravely injured. Essentially, rumours began surfacing on both sides and tensions escalated….sorry it would be wrong to say tensions escalated, it was already past that point.
The Erito and Norito were now involved in a full blown war with each other. One side was a magic specialist and the other a martial arts specialist. One side held the advantage of quality of soldiers but the other side held the advantage of numbers. There were nearly a thousand Norito soldiers and only two hundred Erito forces.
Initially it seemed the Norito would win, however Ramona turned the tides for the Erito with her continuous poisonous spell cast. Ramona was originally searching for Sora but when she received word about Vanessa being injured she and Sliver returned back to the Erito base. Ramona only had one look at Vanessa while she was being treated and stormed off. With the Vice Captain of the Erito forces launching the counter offense, the Erito began a complete coordinated mission to take out / capture Stalsbourg.
Ramona always had a foreboding feeling about Stalsbourg; he had now finally shown his true colours by attacking Vanessa.
The Erito forces were swift and decisive, unlike the Norito who had been fighting the slime, the Erito had been only watching. Thus, the Norito had expended their energy the Erito were still quite fresh.
Alongside Ramona, who was monstrously adept in magic, the Erito forces now pounced upon the Norito.
This was no longer a scuffle, where soldiers would get away with a few injuries. Soldiers were slaying each other on both sides. Thankfully, residents were not involved in the commotion unfurling out on the streets. Most residents still believe the soldiers of Feladonia were still fighting the monster slime and hence stayed indoors.
In the midst of all the chaos and confusion that ensued, nobody noticed a skeleton walking about picking up organs and chunks of slime.
