You are in Sorachan’s rule proximity! You are governed by the rules laid down by Sorachan.
A message popped up in front of Vanessa. She took less than a second to skim through it and closed it.
“ADVENTURER!” She screamed out to alert her comrades and then jumped back away from Sorachan.
You are no longer in Sorachan’s territory.
“FIVE FEET RADIUS TERRITORY!” Vanessa added as she quickly drew out her blades.
There was a proud smug look on her face.
“So you aren’t a dredger…” She said as she began circling Sorachan.
“A what?” Sora asked as he turned around just to keep up with her circling. “Could you not circle….it’s rather making me dizzy…”
Vanessa looked at Sora in disbelief. He was like a prey in the predators den….yet he was so completely aloof of his surroundings. Right, at this moment she was like a vulture circling the weak…and here he is telling the person who is about to kill him not to circle him because its making him dizzy? Just who does he think he is?
Vanessa took a step backwards. If the enemy is so casual about her attack stance and is jesting with her, it must be so that the enemy is strong.
In fact wasn’t it established that Sorachan was strong after having survived a direct hit? No, that was before. Before, everyone thought he had died and was brought back to life. A dredgers are strong. However, this logic only worked if Sora was a resident and not an adventurer.
The fact is that Sora is an adventurer and adventurers have rules. More the rules an adventurer weaker the adventurer….or so the general thumb rule. If Sora survived a direct hit from an attack it maybe because a rule was activated moments before the strike, not because Sorachan was strong.
“Tsk…” Vanessa whispered under her breath. She held out two twin blades; long and curved in the shape of a sickle. The problem was adventurers were more troublesome than dredgers; figuring out their rules and ways around their rules during a battle required genius level intellect. There were less than hundred people in the entire Empire who could completely subdue an adventurer with relative ease….unfortunately Vanessa and her team were not those hundred.
Her team was a specialist for dealing with enemy residents. There are more enemy residents than adventurers. Adventurers are rare within this world. Vanessa closely looked at her opponent, to the best of her knowledge there were ten Class S adventures in the entire world and her opponent wasn’t one of them. She let out a sigh of relief.
Class S, was the worst class of adventures. They could wipe out a city like Feladonia in a single blink, the only reason they haven’t already done so is because they feared the Old Emperors wrath. If they made a move like that, it is given they would never live to see tomorrow. The Old Emperor is somewhat Class X if put in terms of adventures class. Rumours have it that originally there were fifty Class S adventurers who ganged up and tried to kill the Old Emperor however it was the biggest upset imaginable. Of the fifty, only ten now remain. The old Emperor’s power is indomitable and fearsome. A man who can transform lush green lands into deserts in the blink of an eye…is a man worth fearing.

Vanessa’s comrades who had packed up their gear, had now unpacked their weapons and staffs and were aligned by her side. An adventurer who dared to waltz into Feladonia was unheard of.
“Is he class S?” Ramona asked.
“No. Definitely not class S. Never seen him before.” Vanessa replied.
Sora heard their words but barely understood it. They were intentionally speaking a different language. He knew that they were talking about him and could guess that they were trying to recognize him…maybe estimate his strength…at least it seemed they were measuring him up.
“Class A?” Ramona asked again. She was giving off all her killing intent. She just needed one word from her commander and she would move in for the kill; even if it meant her life.
“Class E…” Vanessa said slowly as she summed up the atmosphere and the information she had gathered about Sorachan.
Ramona looked at Vanessa, just to reconfirm. “Then we should be able to handle it…and the Cardinal won’t have to be involved….”
“Five feet radius territory, visible rules and in Feladonia….” Vanessa presented her arguments. “No magical abilities and below average stats…”
Ramona loosened her guard. “You sure about this?”
“Certain.” Vanessa said as she lowered her guard.
“Excuse me…” Sora spoke as he tried to interrupt their continuous whispering. He had a bad feeling whether this was leading up to.
“He also spoke in their native language…” Vanessa kept piling on the proof. "Polite to an enemy....speaking to an enemy in the hopes of talking his way out...essentially we might be dealing with an idiot."
“Plan of action?” Ramona asked as she realized that there was no need to be tense.
“Adventurers usually have lower stats….it would be best to avoid mana based attacks as well….we should go with physical attacks for the best results with minimum collateral damage…”
“In that case…I have a favour to return.” Zacque said as he joined in the conversation.
Zacque sped past the ladies and soldier formation and plunged his hand into Sorachan’s chest.
“Claw Strike.” He said as twisted his arm in Sora’s torso.
Sora winced in pain.
“Geh…” Ramona showed a disgusted expression seeing the move Zacque just pulled off. He was more of the martial arts person and very gruesome.
Zacque smiled like a devil and ripped out Sora’s heart.
“That’s for breaking our record.” He said while he held the heart up in the air, while trying to maintain a cool pose.
