"Monica!" Chloe and Ramone screamed as they hustled to the swordswoman who lay on the ground beside Vinnie the Eel.
Chloe's heart raced with great dread. That level of electricity could murder any regular mortal human being, and as far as she knew, Monica was completely mortal. The swordswoman's long dark hair stood high up, frizzed with electricity into a perm, but, much to Chloe's relief, Monica was still breathing.
"What did you do to her...you eely slimeball?!" Chloe demanded harshly, but it was Vinnie's stooge who answered her.
"He paralyzed himself and her," Barnacle Barney said with a grave look on his face.
"So he didn't aim to kill her?"
The stern demollusk swordsman crossed his arms. "Our leader has a soft spot for women...and so he lowered the voltage to simply stun them both."
As a green ooze seeped from his tuxedo suit, Vinnie the Eel made finger guns as he drifted into the unconcious. "What can I say, I gots a stunning effect on da ladies!"
Barnacle Barney reached backwards to grab his broadsword. There was a vindictive sneer on his face. "Looks like it's up to me to finish the job…"
"Ready to take on another goon, Rose?" Chloe asked her demon eyeball.
Rosemary swiveled around excitedly in her head. "I'm gonna rip that coral off his head and stick it where the sun don't shine...."
Rosemary was cut off by a vigorous, "Laaaaaand ho!"
Everyone turned around. Out of the distance, several pink and white naval vessels with lanterns burning, arrived from the Mainland and stormed the beach front in the dark. A particularly large, beige vessel, piled high with cannons in a tank-like manner laid anchor on the sandy beach, right by the Dainty Danish. Several men swiveled down ropes tossed from the tank-boat. Strudel Svend and Annie-Fried stood still, watching the reinforcements arrive. "Chief Inspector!" one of them shouted. "We've made landfall!"
It was then the largest woman Chloe had ever seen dropped from the ship. She was bulky but muscular with a dark plume of spikey jet-black hair. Half her body was wrapped in a poncho but the other half was as well toned as a professional wrestler. She wore a dark tank top and smoked a pipe. "Wow!" Chloe exclaimed. "I want to be like her when I grow up...only a pirate version!"

"This is Chief Inspector Valcom!" the woman shouted to the innocent civilians. "We have come to rid you of the pirate menace that has invaded your shores! Care to tell me where they are?"
"Over there, ya!" Strudel Svend said pointing at Chloe and her friends along with Barnacle Barney. "Those fiends ramshackled our poor pastries!"
Chief Inspector Valcom gave a hostile snort from her prominent nose and glared harshly with her orange sunburst eyes.
"Wait a minute!" Ramone cried. "Strudel Svend! How could you do this to us! We protected your bakery!"
"Ahh…" Strudel Svend said as the detective marched towards her former friends. "Wait a minute, big lady. There are good pirates too...yah!"
But Valcom did not stop. "There is no such thing. Only felons who defecate on the law! Those men and women...are worthy of punishment!"
"Uh oh…" Chloe said…"I don't know how we're gonna take on Barney and this big lady all at once...but…"
Barney suddenly drew his sword and looked directly at Chief Inspector Valcom. Sporting a look that could kill, his writhing broadsword began to exhale hungrily. "You are not harming my sworn master!" the Demollusk said. "You lot, take Vinnie away from here until he recovers!"
Chloe looked over the unconcious eel gangster. His face reflecting in the candle light. "Leave him!" Rosemary snapped. "He will be nothing but trouble to us when he wakes up…"
But, Chloe thought, I could really use his powers and besides, he did spare Monica.
"There's no way you can tame a Demollusk!" Rosemary said back. "I say we dump him and feed him to the sharks!"
"A pirate," Chloe remarked. "Is ruler over her own destiny and that includes deciding who is worthy of her crew. What happens with eely mouth here, is my decision. You will listen to me, witch!"
Rosemary sighed. "Should I book the funeral now or later? Just remember, I can't do that after he kills us."
A purple vein surged through Chloe's arm and she picked up Vinnie's entire body on her arm.
"Postpone!" Chloe shouted. "I'm having a burial at sea when I'm a hundred years old!"
Chloe commanded Ramone and Abacab to pick up Monica's body and head out. All the while, Barnacle Barney nodded at them. "Bring it, wench of the law!" she shouted.
Chloe couldn't help but look behind her. There was a flash in the detective's eyes and an enormous anchor blasted out of her overcoat. It was a large harpoon like gun attached to her arm. It smashed right into Barnacle Barney sending him flying into the sea. "Save...the captain…!" he screamed as he vanished beneath the waves.
"I prefer, Mother of the Law!" Inspector Valcom said in her husky voice.
"Everyone!" Abacab shouted. "To the Whaleboat! Then I can change my pants!"
