The new metal soldiers that rained down from the sky began to rush towards Constantinople. The Revenants responded by charging right back. BAM. The sound of metal being smashed could be heard as the Revenants began to crush the Dust Devils. Even though numerous Dust Devils rained down from the Storms, they were vastly weaker and inferior to the Revenants that composed most of Garnet's forces.
BOOM. A large metal soldier crashed into the ground. It was one summoned by the Storms that flew in the sky above.

It began to walk towards Garnet as if it was drawn towards her. More were being summoned. "Even with our greater strength, they greatly outnumber us," said Sunny.
"We have to win though," said Garnet. "We can't let them claim this place."
"I agree," said Zedd. "When an Invasion takes hold of an area, they can use it to begin their conquest of the world."
"They're being summoned faster than we can destroy them," said Serena. "We're just too outnumbered. At the same time, retreating is not an option."
"Transform: Fire Form!" Sunny transformed his entire body as fire began to radiate outwards from it. "I'll just have to push harder then!" he shouted.
With the automata and the Spirits protecting the city. It was okay to charge forward into the Invasion for now. As long as nothing else too big surprised them, it should be okay. The attention of all the monsters were being drawn to their group. As strong as the enemies were, most undead were not very smart and the Lich that led them were too distracted by the constant battling around them to focus on anything more than evasion and summoning.
Garnet now joined the main fight. They had to take out the summoners before anything could be done. The Revenants could help contain things for now, but eventually, they would be overwhelmed by the numbers. With her sword in hand, Garnet charged towards the Dreadnought. "Lightning Fire Bolt!"
BOOM. The explosive bolt knocked the Dreadnought back just a little, but not even enough to cause it to take a step back. The most it did was push the torso back just a little. "Icicle Lance!"
Serena followed with her own attack. KA-CHUNK. The large icicle pierced right through the metal armor of the Dreadnought, causing it to fall over.

The Arch Lich jumped on top of the fallen Dreadnought and placed its hand on top of it. Glyphs appeared on the body of the Dreadnought as it sprung back to life with a wide open mouth. ROAR!
"Is that a resurrection spell?" Ganet asked.
"No," said Zedd. "It's most likely a berserker spell meant for a quick recovery and augmentation of power."
The enemies that Garnet and her forces defeated were not staying down. Instead, they were coming back stronger. "Fusion Summoning!"
The Arch Lich on top of the revived Dreadnought used it in a summoning ritual. The body of the Dreadnought began to glow with a blue light. On the opposite side was the impaled Undead Hypoptophis. The two of them combined together.
From the light stepped forward a smaller Dreadnought armed with a large axe made of bone. Its body was covered by a layer of dark grey or black rocks. Underneath it was still metal. Its mouth spewed out a black mist.

The Undead Machine King was emitting some kind of aura from the black mist, but it looks like Garnet's abilities protected her and her companions from it.
Garnet took out the earring that Anna had given her. If there was any time to use it, now would be it. She channeled her mana into it. The earring dissolved into a magic circle onto the ground underneath her. Garnet stood back and watched as from the ground, a humanoid golem emerged and took the form of Anna, but it was entirely silver in color. In her hand was a single black and gold sword.

"It's a copy with only a fraction of her power," said Garnet. "At least, that's what she told me."
The Guardian Replica charged towards the Undead Machine King, dispersing the mist before it. The sword in her hand slammed against the Undead Machine King and the Guardian Replica moved on to the next target. "She's not finishing them off?" Garnet thought.
The Undead Machine King had stopped moving since the Guardian Replica struck it. It was frozen in place. "Quickly, we must finish it before the enemy forces are able to build momentum," said Zedd.
The Guardian Replica along with the other three Guardians were holding out against the superior numbers for now, but there were still too many. Even though the Guardians could take out the powerful creatures, the problem was that there were too many for the three and the Guardian Replica. The Revenants could only continue to feast on some of the corpses as they began to accumulate their power from the numerous dead creatures. Some of them were able to gather in large enough numbers to take down a large creature, but the Invasion was starting to push back against the large numbers of undead creatures on Garnet's side.
BAM. Zedd smashed the blunt side of a large blue blade onto the Undead Machine King, tipping it over. He went to work cutting off its arms.
"Fusion Summoning!" A pillar of blue light surrounded the Undead Machine King and pushed Zedd back.
BAM. Zedd smashed his blade against the pillar of light, but was unable to do anything against it. The fragments of the Undead Machine King broke apart and lined up in a straight line across the sky. A red pillar of light appeared as the image of a skull descended upon it. From it, a large six armed skeleton armed with sickle shaped blades appeared. "There's more?!?" said Zedd who was surprised by this.
Garnet was surprised by this as well. The enemy forces were continuing to increase their strength. Their fallen comrades simply became resources for the next summoning, resulting in fewer numbers, but an overall stronger enemy.
The metal fragments attached itself to the six armed skeleton, giving it a strong protective armor. Red skin and black scales began to overlay the bones of the skeleton.

It immediately turned its attention to the Guardian Replica, which had frozen numerous large creatures in place, allowing Garnet's Revenants to feast on. The Revenants were not absorbing the physical characteristics of what they ate, but they were at least absorbing their strength, becoming faster and stronger with each enemy they defeated. However, none of this would matter if they could not defeat Gunther, the Arch Lich. Gunther was continuously using the corpses of the dead to summon new and more powerful enemies. They would eventually be overwhelmed regardless of how strong they were.
The Guardian Replica leapt towards Mortarion. A black ball condensed in front of one of its arms. It was a spell of some kind, one that Garnet had never seen before. "Don't get hit by that thing!" Zedd shouted.
"Funerary Rites!" The black ball disappeared and wrapped around the Guardian Replica. BAM. The liquid black substance wrapped around the Guardian Replica and crushed it. The Guardian Replica fell onto the ground as metal goo.
"What was that?!?" Garnet asked.
"Death Magic," said Zedd. "It can cause instant death on most things. You absolutely must not get hit by that thing."
The Guardian Replica glowed with a silver light and reconstituted itself. It picked itself back up and charged once more. "Quickly, we must take advantage of this to stop that thing!" Zedd shouted.
Garnet prepared the strongest attack she had. "Final Strike!" Garnet pulled back on the arrow that formed in her hand. The Mortarion was a very large target. She released it from her hand. FWOOM. In an instant, the arrow flew forward, piercing the chest of the Mortarion.
ROAR. The Mortarion bellowed with a powerful battle cry. It was not dead. There was an enormous hole in its chest from Garnet's attack, but it was still holding strong. "Shivering Trident!" Serena launched a sharp spear of ice at the Mortarion. KA-CHUNK. The entire spear embedded it in the chest of the Mortarion.
The Mortarion swung its arms around wildly, throwing fire everywhere. Sunny enlarged his staff and swung it overhead. BANG. The staff smashed against the head of the Mortarion, sending it face first into the ground.
The Mortarion's two highest positioned hands readied black balls. It was going to use its Death magic again. "Divine Arrow!" Zedd released a white bolt of lightning that penetrated the center of the Mortarion's chest.
"Ugh…" the Mortarion groaned as it collapsed.
"I need more power!" Gunther shouted. This was the first time the Arch Lich actually spoke. Yellow lights descended from the blue eye in the sky, surrounding Gunther and engraving a multi layered magic circle onto the ground. A long thick mist purple in color descended from the black star in the sky. The tip shaped itself like a snake before entering Gunther's body. Gunther placed its hand onto the ground and activated the magic circle. "Call: Mortarion!"
Two more large six armed and red skinned creatures appeared. There was now three of them. The green eye in the sky vanished with that, but the black ball that floated there remained with a blue eye still watching over them. The Invasion was not over. The three Mortarions continued their advance.
"Any ideas?" Serena asked.
"Venom Tail!" KA-THUMP. A green liquid icicle pierced the body of the Mortarion. It fell over as the green liquid dissolved and began to spread over its body.
As Garnet turned to look at where it came from, she saw that it was Xiaomei. She had returned. "I told you I would help," she said.
Garnet was still concerned. After all, Xiaomei was from the Dark Mage Guild that had basically declared war against her. For now though, Garnet would just keep an eye on her. After all, Garnet needed all the help that she could get. "I thought you were bringing help?" Garnet asked.
"I was only able to convince one other person to help," said Xiaomei. "He should be here soon."
Two other people from the Dark Mages was not as much as Garnet was expecting. She was hoping the Dark Mages would join, but that was unlikely. After all, Murad was more concerned with his own survival. It was unlikely they would send a lot of help.
"Ground Dasher!" The ground beneath the other Mortarion began to break apart, moving up and down like a wave. The Mortarion lost its balance and fell onto the ground. Garnet saw that it was Quinton, one of the other Dark Mages that was with Xiaomei from before. They were only two, but they were two at least decently strong people. "I can't believe I actually betrayed the Chancellor to do this," he said.
The Guardian Replica jumped towards it with its sword, stabbing the Mortarion several times before it stopped moving.
All around, Garnet's Revenants were being incapacitated. As strong as they were and despite their ghost like bodies, they could only take so much punishment as well. They would recover over time, but not fast enough to deal with the number of enemies.
"Where's the leader?" Xiaomei asked.
Garnet pointed to Gunther, the Arch Lich who stood out with its shiny metal armor. "That thing," said Garnet. Gunther was continuing to jump around, calling forth more creatures using its fallen allies. This was in addition to the other summoners that were still calling forth more machines and undead. "We have to stop it from summoning the stronger ones."
Garnet, Zedd, Xiaomei, Quinton, Serena, and Sunny all ran towards the Gunther. Gunther called the other large creatures to block the path, creating an artificial wall between them. Zedd, Serena, and Sunny charged first, knocking the creatures aside to create a path. Xiaomei quickly jumped through the path that opened up. "Serpentine Art, Second Verse, Serpentine Strike!"
The bright green liquid cloak around her body wrapped around her arm and transformed into a spike as she dived straight for Gunther. Gunther was moving backwards in an attempt to gain distance to summon another creature, but Xiaomei was much faster. BANG. Xiaomei's fist connected with Gunther.
Gunther did not look like he took any damage, but when it came to Xiaomei's poisonous attacks, that was always deceptive. The metal on his chest began to melt from the poison. Gunther quickly detached the metal parts that were affected, but this would leave it open to the follow up attacks.
"Quagmire!" Quinton created a pool of mud underneath Gunther's feet that trapped it.
"Lightning Fire Palm!" Garnet struck Gunther's now exposed chest with her strongest close range attack. BOOM.
"Gah!" Gunther groaned.
Gunther was injured, but he was not dead. Garnet took her sword in her other hand. "Triple Slash!" Garnet quickly followed up with multiple strikes against Gunther's chest. "Lightning Fire Palm!"
BOOM. The sound of a second explosion came with the sound of cracking. Garnet saw that the bones on Gunther's chest had been shattered. Gunther collapsed onto the ground on his back, with his feet still bound by Quinton's Quagmire.
"Essence Absorption!" Gunther's dissolved into a black mist and entered into Garnet's body.

Now was the main problem, the other Lich creatures turned themselves inward and focused their power in a single magic circle supported by the Machine Spirits circling from above. Together, they created two magic circles that connected with each other. The magic circle from the sky began to descend as the magic circle from the ground shrank. As the two began to meet, a pillar of light connected the two. A small black cloaked humanoid figure began to rise from the ground.

"It's a Guide!" shouted Serena. "Be careful, there might be more than one of them!"
Garnet had heard that word before from Riley and Assad. A guide was a person from another world who intended to take over a world in order to shape it a certain way. His level was far higher than the others. "How do we stop him?" Garnet asked.
"This is a battle that I've been preparing for a long time," said Serena. "Transform: Ten Armed Buddha!" Serena's water tentacles began to shape into hands. Each one was armed with a different weapon. The ground beneath her feet began to freeze as a crest of ice appeared on her back.
This was the first time Garnet had seen Serena activate this transformation before. For the most part, she stuck to her water tentacles, which were always enough for the job.
Apollo opened his eyes as he began to look around. "You!" he shouted as he saw the Guardian Replica.
Serena and the Guardian Replica both began to rush Apollo. "I'm not making the same mistake as last time!" Apollo shouted. "Avalanche!" Liquid metal poured from the sword in his hands and began to spread everywhere. "Magicraft: Iron Golem!"
The pools of liquid metal transformed into twelve metal humanoid soldiers.

The metal soldiers began to march towards Garnet and company. Even though they were smaller in size, they were much higher level and most likely more dangerous as well. "Thunder Hammer!" BANG. Zedd struck the first metal soldier with a powerful bolt of lightning from the sky. The metal soldier was sent crashing into the ground face first.
The metal soldier picked itself up and continued moving forward. "Ticking Death!" Sunny wasted no time in launching the first attack. His staff transformed into a scythe and released a circular shaped spinning shockwave.
BANG. The blast connected with one of the metal soldiers, knocking it over. A few seconds later, it picked itself up again. Like many of the other creatures that attacked this Invasion, they were extremely durable. "Let us take care of this," said Quinton as he stepped up with Xiaomei. "Against anything with a strong defense, we can slow it down."
"Alright," said Garnet. "Open up a path for us to the Guide."
"Quagmire!" Quinton again dissolved the ground underneath the metal soldiers. Their weight caused them to sink into the ground, trapping them.
Xiaomei ran forward and created a green sword in her hand. "Serpentine Art, Third Verse, Venomous Swipe!" The blade stretched out in an arc towards the target.
FWOOSH. The blade splashed onto the target and began to dissolve into it. HISS. The sound of something burning away from the poison could be heard. Xiaomei's poison was very effective against high defense targets because it just ate right through most armors.
Garnet, Zedd, Serena, and Sunny ran through the metal soldiers and pushed towards Apollo, who was already fighting against the Guardian Replica. "I will not fall for that trap again!" Apollo shouted.
"Again?" Garnet thought. "Did Anna fight him before?"
Apollo raised his large two handed sword and activated an area of effect aura. The sword split into two smaller one handed swords. "All Divide!"
Garnet could suddenly feel strength leaving her body. When he looked in the corner of her eye, she saw an icon that showed that all her stats had been decreased. Even her health and mana were cut in half.
CLANG. Apollo was now fighting evenly with the Guardian Replica. CLANG. There were numerous swords that were stuck in mid-air. Every time that the Guardian Replica's sword struck Apollo's, Apollo's sword would get stuck and he would create a new one in his hands. "Double Strike!"
Apollo quickly thrusted his sword forward. CLANG. The strike quickly countered by the Guardian Replica who blocked the first one and negated the second. "Gungnir!"
Several spears rained down from the sky towards the Guardian Replica. The Guardian Replica quickly retreated backwards. Apollo was now switching to long range combat because he could not win up close.
Zedd began to channel his mana. "I'm going to try to restrict the hooded man," he said. "Let the two fight and do not interfere unless it looks like Anna is losing."
"Alright," said Serena.
Garnet and Sunny stood by and watched as Apollo and the Guardian Replica continued to clash. Their fight was escalating into another level. If they got close, it was likely that they would be caught up in the fight as well. "Is she even human?" Sunny asked.
"I think so," Garnet replied. "Or at least she used to be human."
Apollo and the Guardian Replica continued to throw blades at each other. Every single weapon that Apollo threw was countered by one from the Guardian Replica. The entire battlefield became littered with their weapons. "Lightning Crucifixion!"
Zedd released his spell. A pillar of lightning came crashing down on Apollo. BAM. He was smashed face first into the ground. Four more pillars of lightning came crashing down. One on each hand and one on each foot. "Quickly!" he shouted.
The Guardian Replica jumped towards Apollo. "Blaze Beat!" BOOM. BOOM. BOOM. The Guardian Replica was struck by several purple bolts of fire.
"You're late!" said Apollo.
As Garnet looked up into the sky, the second eye had disappeared, but the black star still remained floating in the air. A second robed figure with his hood down appeared. His robe was a deep blue, different from Apollo's. There was some kind of purple marking covering the right side of his face. He was older than Apollo.

"You were too careless again," said Yarik.
"We need to take out that thing," said Apollo as he pointed to the Guardian Replica. "Her sword freezes anything it touches, so watch out."
The two of them rushed the Guardian Replica. "We have to help," said Garnet. "If we lose it, we don't stand a chance against the Guides."
The Guardian Replica was the only one that was holding strong against one of them. Against two, it was going to be difficult. Serena was the first one to make it as she transformed her entire body into water to move quickly. "Thousand Blades!"
Serena swung the weapons generated by her arms of water, quickly slashing against Apollo. "Another?!?" he shouted. A few strikes landed on him, but he was able to block most of them with his sword.
Sunny was the second to make it. He transformed his staff into a mace and went for an overhead smash against Apollo. "Sinking Star!"
BOOM. A loud sound and a powerful shockwave erupted as Sunny's mace slammed against Apollo's sword. "Gah!" Apollo cried as he his feet dug into the ground.
If they all teamed up, they would stand a chance. "Spiral Dance!" Apollo countered by spinning several metal fragments around himself, forcing Sunny and Serena back.
"Lightning Bind!" Zedd released a continuous bolt of lightning from his fingertips. It wrapped around Apollo, following the metal fragments that he had made around himself.
Apollo quickly reacted by dropping the metal fragments. The lightning around him scattered as well. "There's quite a lot of you for such a weak world," he said.
Eleven more pools of liquid emerged from the black star in the sky. Each one took on the shape of Yarik.

Each of them also had the same stats as Yarik. They were barely dealing with one, but now, there were twelve more. "Crap!" shouted Serena. "There's no way we can win this."
"We won't know unless we try!" Sunny shouted as he charged forward.
"Stop!" Zedd shouted.
Sunny ignored Zedd's words. "Recall!" Garnet immediately pulled Sunny back.
"Why did you stop me?!?" Sunny shouted. "I've fought people like him before."
"But twelve of them?" Garnet asked.
Sunny had a sudden realization. He was too hot headed and would have charged into his death. He too had to acknowledge that this was a battle that he could not win. "Against one or two, I think I could."
"With all the Guardians and spirits, I think we might be able to handle five or six, but not twelve," said Serena. "We have to retreat."
"What about the city?" Garnet asked. "We can't let them get their hands on it."
"What's important is in the Ark under the city," Serena replied. "As long as the Ark and the Mana Core is there, the city can be rebuilt any number of times."
"What about you?" Garnet asked.
"Us Guardians can be revived any number of times as long as you have the book and the power to do so," said Serena.
"Fifty thousand mana," Garnet thought. It was the cost to resummon a Guardian. However, it meant that they could still live, even if they died, so death was really not the end for them.
The twelve Yarik formed a magic circle between them. The magic circle descended from the sky and a small red skinned, horned humanoid appeared in it. In its hand was a large sword.

ROAR. Belphegor screamed as loud as it could. "What is it Master?" he asked.
"Kill everyone," Yarik ordered.
"As you wish," Belphegor replied as he picked up his sword. His eyes turned towards Garnet and he began his advance. Belphegor raised his hand and pointed his index finger straight out. "Inferno!"
A ball of fire appeared in front of his finger. PEW. As it was fired, it continued to expand. "Glacial Wall!" Serena countered by raising a large block of ice between them. BOOM. The fireball broke when it came into contact with the block of ice. The block of ice was shattered, but the fires were scattered to the sides of the ice. "I'll hold them off as long as I can," said Serena. "You guys should run and prepare to fight another day. If it's within a year, I don't think they will have a large enough army to take over the world yet."
With that Serena, charged towards Belphegor. With her tentacle arms, she began to clash. Belphegor had superior strength, but Serena was able to match it by committing multiple arms to counter an attack. Since Belphegor only held one weapon, he opened him up to Serena's other attacks. Slowly the cuts built up on Belphegor. However, it was not enough. "Restoration!"
Belphegor's wounds suddenly healed thanks to a healing spell from the Yariks. They were supporting Belphegor and simply watching the fight unfold.
Two of the Yariks charged flew forward using wings they had sprouted from their backs. The remaining ten maintained the magic circle. With the strongest of the group fighting off the hordes of monsters, it was up to Garnet and the summons that she could call out to fight against them. "Transformation: Lightning Fire Form!"
As Garnet approached the two Yariks, each of them pulled out a Phoenix Lance. Not only did they have high stats, each of them also had high end equipment. "So, they sent a child to face me," said Yarik.
Garnet held her sword in front of her, ready to face the two of them. "I'm more than a match for you," said Garnet.
"We'll see about that," said Yarik. "Demon Fangs!" A pair of blue fire bolts flew towards Garnet at incredible speed.
Garnet dove downwards to avoid it, but the bolts curved and followed her. "Water Wall!" The two bolts of fire collided with the Water Wall, instantly fizzling out when it came into contact with the water.
One of the Yariks rushed Garnet from behind. Garnet turned around and prepared an attack. "Horizontal Slash!"
CLANG. Garnet's sword slid against the Phoenix Lance as it slid off to the side. From the other side, the other Yarik approached. Garnet reached out her hand. "Shadow Bind!"
Black stripes appeared all around Yarik, slowing him down. "Phoenix Force!"
BOOM. Yarik reacted with his own ability. An explosion of flames wrapped around Yarik, engulfing his wings in fire. Flames began to slowly circle Yarik. Yarik continued to push forward.
Garnet took out the Excalibur Replica that she kept in her ring. Against two opponents, she needed to be able to use her swords independently to deflect their attacks.
The first Yarik renewed his assault, thrusting his spear forward. "Spear Rain!" His spear began to speed up and the tip of the spear shot a beam of fire with every strike.
The two Yariks coordinated their attacks. Garnet was not used to fighting two highly skilled opponents at once. When she was able to block one attack, another would strike at her arm or her leg. If it were not for her incredible mana regeneration, she would have been dead several times already. As long as neither of them were able to land a clean blow, she should be able to survive. "Recall!"
Nian suddenly appeared underneath them. Garnet needed help. Nian was the only one left who might be strong enough. "Flight!" Nian sprouted a pair of wings from his spine. They were made from bones and were connected by some type of pink flesh.
"Recall!" Yarik reacted as well, calling four more Yariks to their location. There were now six of them against Garnet and one Nian.
"Flame Tornado!" The Yariks all twirled their spears in front of them, creating a beam of flames.
"Water Wall!" Garnet countered by surrounding both her and Nian in flames.
The flames began to surround them, trapping them in a pillar of flames. "Ice Beam!" Nian fired a beam of blue from his mouth. The beam itself was able to pierce through the wall erected by the flames.
One of the Yariks reached out his hand. "Fire Beam!" The two beams collided in mid-air and neutralized one another.
"Lightning Fire Bolt!" BOOM. A large bolt suddenly struck Belphegor from the sky.
"What was that?!?" shouted Yarik as she looked up at where the shot came from.
Garnet looked up and saw that the black star in the sky still remained, but two more figures stood in the sky above them.

It was Riley and Anna, but their stats and levels had changed. All of Anna's status information was hidden now. Riley continued to fire several more shots at Belphegor, striking holes into his arms and delaying his regeneration.
As Anna fell from the sky, she jumped towards Garnet. "Tempest Turn!" Anna began to spin, increasing in speed and finally releasing a wind blast in every direction except for directly above and below her. FWOOSH. The flames were not only dispersed, but the Yariks were all scattered as well.
"Quickly, make me a Guardian," she said.
Garnet wasted no time as she reached her hand out. "Guardian Contract!" The magic circle with the animal symbols appeared.
"I accept," said Anna. She wasted no time in accepting it.
New Skill: Call: Anna
Summon forth Anna, Guardian of Metal

The forth petal on Garnet's hand lit up. This time it appeared a white colored petal filled in. Four of the five were now filled in. "Transform: Blade Dancer!"
Anna only carried a single sword in her hand. It was not as visually impressive as the transformation of the other guardians. "I will incapacitate as many of them as I can, but let Garnet kill them so that she can become stronger," Anna instructed. "Save your questions for later."
"Okay," said Serena with no hesitation.
"Who are you?" Sunny asked.
"A friend," said Garnet. "It's alright."
"Reunion!" Anna reabsorbed the Guardian Replica that was fighting Apollo. With the metal from it, Anna created five more blades that floated on her back. When she released the sword he had on her hand, it returned to her back as well. Six swords floated on her back.
Anna wasted no time as she charged towards Belphegor. "Mortal human, feel the power of a Greater Demon!" Belphegor shouted as he raised his sword.
"I'm no ordinary human!" Anna shouted back. Anna gripped her hand and one of the swords were instantly transported from her back to her hand. "Scorching Lotus!" Anna's entire sword ignited with flames as she quickly danced around Belphegor, slashing him four times. BOOM. There was a delayed explosion with Belphegor at the center.
"Argh!" Belphegor screamed as he fell over.
Anna wasted no time as she continued towards the Yariks. "Desolate Sands!" Yarik casted another spell.
The ground underneath Anna began to dissolve into sand. However, her footsteps changed quickly, allowing her to jump across the sand.
"Cursed Seal!" Yarik wasted no time to cast another spell.
"Transformation: Transcendence!" Anna raised her arms and charged straight for Yarik.
Anna activated a second transformation. The blades on her back split in half. There were now twice as many. Lightning crackled between some of them before transforming into light that bridged the gaps. There was now a pair of bright yellow wings on her back made of pure energy. A single long blade remained in her hands, glowing with a bright light. "You're fairly weak for a Guide," she said to Yarik.
"Transcendent Wings!" Anna's wings lit up and projected a burst of energy backwards, giving Anna even more speed.
A magic circle appeared around Anna and began to close in around her. "HA!" Anna screamed and released a powerful burst of energy. The magic circle underneath her shattered. Anna was charging towards Yarik, and nothing could stop her.
"All Divide!" Apollo once more casted the spell that reduced the stats of their enemies.
Anna visibly slowed down, but she continued her advance. Even with her stats cut in half, she was still going to fight. "Now!" she shouted.
"Lightning Fire Blast!" Riley fired another shot towards Apollo. A beam of fire and lightning connected the sky and ground. BOOM. This one was much larger than Garnet's normal cast of the spell. It was similar to the Fire Bolts that Zedd could cast.
Using this as cover, Anna jumped towards Apollo. Four of the swords in her back combined together into a large two handed sword. With a powerful overhead slash, she aimed straight down at Apollo. "Wrecking Blow!" CLANG. Apollo blocked with his sword, but he was sent crashing into the ground anyways. Anna's strength simply far outclassed Apollo's strength, even with her stats reduced.
"You again!" Apollo shouted. "Why must you keep getting in my way?!?"
"You attacked a friend, I'm just returning the favor," Anna replied. In her other hand, a black and gold sword appeared.
Apollo instantly fell back the moment he saw that sword. He knew what it could do. "Don't touch that sword, it will freeze you in place," he warned Yarik.
The Yariks and Apollo stood in front of Anna. Anna was receiving support from Riley, who was overlooking the battlefield and waiting for opportunities to shoot.
Meanwhile, Garnet approached the body of Belphegor. There was a small crater around him from Anna's attack. Belphegor was bleeding heavily from Anna's attack, but he was not dead. He turned his head to look at Garnet, but he could not speak. He was barely able to move at all. Belphegor tried to reach for his sword, but he no longer had the strength. "Lightning Fire Palm!" Garnet struck Belphegor in the chest with it. BOOM. Belphegor was once again pushed further into the ground as the crater widened just a tiny bit.
"Essence Absorption!" Belphegor's body broke into a red mist and entered Garnet's body.

"Shouldn't we go help Anna?" Zedd asked.
"No," said Serena. "Let her fight alone, that way she doesn't have to hold back."
"Alright," said Garnet.
The group continued to watch Anna fight against the Guides on her own from afar. To their surprise, Anna was winning. She alone was winning against thirteen enemies that were able to coordinate their attacks.
Anna kept shifting her eyes, watching for movement and moving the blades on her back around to deflect attacks. No matter how many enemies there were, only four of them could attack at a time without endangering each other. Her fighting style was unorthodox, making it difficult to predict and read. The swords behind her moved independently of the sword that she held in her hand. It was like watching a single person using five swords at once to fight. However, it was still difficult to find an opening when there are thirteen enemies trying to attack you.
"Phantom Strike!" To everyone's surprise, Anna rammed one of her swords straight into the ground. It appeared underneath Apollo and stabbed him from the ground, injuring his leg. "Cover me!" she shouted.
"Fire and Ice!" Riley rained several shots from above, this time in a circle around the Guides.
BOOM. The Fire Bolt created a cloud of smoke. Several Ice Bolts embedded themselves into the ground and created ice pillars that made it difficult to maneuver around. "Transcendent Blade!" Anna's sword turned transparent as she slashed a Yarik that was behind an ice pillar without breaking the pillar itself. All Garnet could hear was screams.
When the smoke cleared, Apollo and three of the Yariks were down.
"Impossible… This world was supposed to weak," said Yarik.
"Did you forget who came from this world?" Anna asked.
"No one of importance," Yarik replied.
"That's why you fail," said Anna. "If you come back with any of your bodies, I will destroy them all."
"Sky Dragon Crest!" BOOM. With a single strike, she slammed her sword into one of the Yariks, pushing him straight into the ground. The entire ground glowed with a magic circle with a dragon emblem underneath it. Slowly, the dragon emblem from the ground shrunk and the dragon wrapped itself around Yarik's body. "Eight to go," she said.
"Retreat!" Yarik shouted. "Everyone fall back!"
Each of the Yariks drew a purple sword that they used to open up a portal of some kind. The remaining Guides all ran away. This time, Garnet was saved by Anna. Anna was incredibly strong, stronger than anyone she had ever seen or met before. It was clear that Anna was stronger than even Serena, Sunny, Nian, and Zedd put together. But Anna had fought for a long time, long enough to be tired of all of it. There was no telling how long she had been at it and she had gained incredible strength. Anna's skills were far beyond that of any ordinary person.
"Are they gone?" Garnet asked.
"I think so," said Serena. "They all at least left this world for another."
The Revenants, Xiaomei, and Quinton began to clean up the remaining summoned creatures. If any of them escaped, they could probably message their summoner and help aid in the next Invasion. For now though, Garnet needed to get stronger. The enemies this time were far stronger than anything she had encountered even though they were only about twenty levels higher and Garnet was much stronger than during the first one. Despite this, they would have lost without Anna's help. This could not happen a second time.
"Essence Absorption!" Garnet absorbed the body of Apollo and the Yariks that Anna had killed.

Like the previous Invasion, it gave Garnet lots of experience and stats. The problem was that it was not enough. The enemies were twice her level. She needed to get stronger, much stronger, if she was going to be able to defeat the next one. Even though Garnet was the Hero, she was not the one saving everyone, she was now the one that was being saved.
