Last chapter of Arc 2. It's mainly preparing Garnet for Arc 3 where she is going to try to sabotage Duke Gray from inside Antium while the other nobles are preparing for war. The plan is for 8 chapters. The actual war is probably going to be very short.
--------------------------------------------------------
When Duke Wellington finished speaking with the King, they finally returned to the Duke's manor. In all, they were gone for about a month. Ruby was okay being left with Leeroy. Anna had chosen several different types of clothes for Garnet. A mage's robe, an ao dai, a cheongsam and one fairly normal looking set of cloth armor in comparison. It was black, blue, and red. None of it was regular every day clothes. Even Anna got herself something Asian themed. She seemed to be fascinated and used the opportunity to play dress up with Garnet.
"Did you really have to?" asked Garnet.
"Why not?" asked Anna. "It's hard to find them around here, but he was the only one makes them. Besides, you're going to need them."
"For what?" asked Garnet.
"For when you want to annoy Duchess Kiko," said Anna.
"Is that really a priority?" asked Garnet. "I would have preferred something normal."
Anna picked up the mage's robe, ao dai, and cheongsam. "These three are all fine," said Anna.
Garnet could no longer deny it though. Her belly was starting to show a bump and she had to wear the new clothes Anna had gotten. Garnet had no idea why such fancy maternity clothes would be needed. Then again, Anna started to prioritize her safety. From there, everyone started treating her like she was sick again and refused to let her stay out for too long.
"I hate this," said Garnet.
"Just bear with it for a few more months," said Anna. "At least you get to spend time with me."
"I can't even go see Ruby because they won't let me outside the front door," said Garnet.
"We don't know how Teleportation magic will affect you so you are staying in here," said Anna. "Besides you have much more to learn still."
Garnet spent a lot of time learning from Anna how to take care of a baby. After all, Anna was the one who had raised Ruby. The biggest problem for Garnet was that not every problem could be solved by the Hero System. There was no class to help her learn the skills that she needed. To Garnet, it was better than having to do it all by herself at least.
"When will Charles be back?" asked Garnet.
"Not sure," said Anna. "He was still working on something in Antium."
Duke Wellington was trying to bridge trade between the Dukes of Antium and Anzio. However, the other Dukes did not benefit from it as only the North had started using machines in their farming. The rest were still doing fairly poorly. As a result, he was gaining power at the cost of the others. Duke Gray did not like it, but he could not take another action since Duke Wellington knew that Duke Gray had tried to assassinate the other Dukes but failed miserably due to attempting to kill them all at the same time.
Anna taught Garnet all sorts of different cooking recipes. Each one was recorded by the Hero System like a cookbook and she could look at it if she did not remember how to make it.

More than anything, Garnet hated being housebound. The first two times was due to injuries. Now, it is because of pregnancy. "I feel like I've spent more time indoors than outdoors since I've come here," said Garnet.
"That's probably true," said Anna. "After all, you got hurt a lot and you have a habit of it. So that's why we must keep you in doors."
"So all of it is my fault," said Garnet. Had she not been so reckless fighting the Siren, absorbed the Siren, or had not gotten hit by the poison dart, she probably would not be in this situation now.
One thing worried her more than anything though. She wondered how she would be able to save Antium with a family. She was more or less tied down for the next few years until her child joined Ruby at the academy. She will still need to travel in the future. But, worrying was not going to help. Garnet needed to deal with one problem at a time. The only thing Garnet could do for now was learn from Anna and simply wait.
Luckily, the months went by without many problems. Duke Wellington had successfully established trade between Anzio and Antium, resulting in high profits for his region and a surplus of food that could be traded. The tariffs and taxes in the region dropped significantly as a result, but income taxes could not be implemented until he became King. Ruby was doing well in her studies as the early classes had to do with literacy, but she advanced to mathematics and literature already. Chances are, she would finish around the age of twelve or so.
But, not everything goes according to plans. "It's coming," said Garnet.
"What?!?" shouted Anna. "It's two months too early."
Garnet was pregnant for only seven months. The Duke was still away. The only person present was Anna and the other servants.
"It's not gonna wait two months," said Garnet.
Anna ran outside. Garnet could only hear shouting. "I sent someone to get a doctor," said Anna.
"I don't think it'll be fast enough," said Garnet.
Anna had taken care of Ruby, but she had not actually done child birth before and was nervous like Garnet had never seen her be.
"Relax," said Garnet. "You can do this. Grab some blankets for the baby."
Luckily for Garnet, Riley's knowledge covered nearly everything, including what to do for child birth due to health studies. So far, everything else was accurate, and this should be too.
"What do I do with it?" asked Anna.
"When the baby comes out, wrap it with the blanket and leave only the face uncovered," said Garnet. She was starting to breathe much quicker. She tried her best to sit up on the bed.
Anna sat next to Garnet and waited. She could only feel that there was life within Garnet, but despite all of her abilities, she was clueless on what to do. Eventually, a few maids gathered in the room as well to help. "HAHA," Garnet laughed.
"Is something funny?" asked Anna.
"This is the first time I've seen you not in control," said Garnet.
"This is scarier than fighting," said Anna. "At least I know what to do in a fight."
"The baby's coming!" said Garnet. She could feel it move through her as she pushed it out. Garnet screamed. AH.
The maids pushed Anna out of the way as she was clueless on what to do. She lost track of time, but eventually, Garnet was able to push out the first baby. The maids quickly wrapped it in blankets and handed it over to Anna. "It's a girl," said Anna.
Anna felt something was wrong. There was still a sign of life within Garnet. She was having twins. "There's another one coming," said Garnet.
The maids quickly gathered around Garnet again and prepared for the next one. It came out with much less trouble. "It's a boy," said Anna.
"Am I done?" asked Garnet.
Anna tried to sense if there was another life within Garnet. There was nothing. That was it. "Yes, you're done," said Anna.
"Can you bring them over?" asked Garnet.
Anna brought the two babies over to Garnet. Garnet looked at the girl. She had one green eye and own brown eye. To keep with the tradition of naming, Garnet decided to name them after gemstones. "Jade will be her name," said Garnet. The other baby was a boy. He had a brown eye and a blue eye. "Jasper," said Garnet.
"You're not going to ask Duke Wellington for his opinion on names?" asked Anna.
"He wasn't here for their birth so too bad," said Garnet.
"Fair enough," said Anna.
"Can you take care of the two of them for now?" asked Garnet.
"Yes," said Anna. "Go get the crib in here," she ordered. The maids went to retrieve the one that was made. They were not expecting twins. It was big enough to hold the two of them for now, but they would need another.
"I need to sleep," said Garnet. She passed out from exhaustion.
Anna watched over Garnet to make sure she was okay. It was now her job to make sure that Garnet and her children would be safe.
When Garnet awoke, it was to the sound of crying. Anna fell asleep while watching over her. Garnet tried to get up, but it hurt too much. "Hey wake up," said Garnet as she poked Anna in the face.
"Huh?" said Anna. She was drooling.
"Carry them over to me," said Garnet.
Anna did so and watched as Garnet fed them. "If you need anything be sure to tell me," said Anna.
"Tell Charles to hurry his butt over," said Garnet. All Garnet could do was watch over them. After all, she had no experience. The maids helped a little and told Garnet what she needed to do once in a while.
"I already did," said Anna. "It's at least two days from Antium to here."
Garnet remembered. When she rushed over, it took almost a day and a half to reach Freud's laboratory and it took even longer to reach the manor.
The next day. SLAM. Garnet could hear the door slam open downstairs. "He's here," said Garnet.
Duke Wellington had a habit of that when he was in a hurry. As he approached the room, he slowed down and opened the door quietly. He at least had the sense to not slam the door where the babies were sleeping. Garnet watched as he approached the crib. Anna put her finger over her mouth, signaling to him to stay quiet. He cried as he looked over them before hugging Garnet. "Be gentle," whispered Garnet. "It still hurts."
Duke Wellington had no words. He stayed there and watched over them. Garnet was sleeping almost as much as the babies. "The boy is Jasper and the girl is Jade," whispered Garnet. "You weren't here, so you don't get a say."
"I know," said Duke Wellington. "That was the same for Ruby."
Duke Wellington had to return to his duties, so he had to leave them again. He was busy spreading Garnet's ideas to other farms in under his control. His wealth had increased significantly and some of the farmers even willingly offered a larger share to offset his investment into their farms, which he gladly accepted. The only thing that he was missing now was military might. With that, he would be able to challenge Duke Gray for control of the throne.
That left Garnet and Anna to take care of the two children. Garnet did her best, but she often had to rely on the others for assistance. She was happy that there were others to help her. After all, it was two children. If she was by herself she would have no idea what to do. Anna had some experience with Ruby, but taking care of both of them was still difficult. The maids and other servants often had to help.
Since the Siren incident, there were no major problems. Garnet could not help but worry. "Is there anything I should I know about?" asked Garnet.
"No need," said Anna. She had intercepted all information and told Garnet on a need to know basis in order to not stress her out. "No monster sightings, no dead rising from the ground, and no one is flirting with your dear husband."
"That's good," said Garnet. She had largely recovered from giving birth, but still felt exhausted from taking care of her children. No amount of vitality would help her with this. "Do you have any kids?" Garnet asked.
Stat Increase: Vitality +5
"No," said Anna.
"Any plans?" asked Garnet.
"Nope," said Anna.
"Really?" said Garnet. "I thought you'd at least get with Leeroy or something."
"I'm a loner," said Anna. "I like it that way."
"But you spend so much time with me," said Garnet. "There's no way you like being alone."
"I mean in terms of relationships," said Anna. "When I was young, my parents arranged for me to get married. In response, I ran away and joined a temple to hide."
That was where Anna had gotten her skills from. When she joined the temple, she trained in their martial arts and fighting. This was the first time Anna had talked about herself. Garnet wanted to know as much as possible and took advantage of this chance. "So what happened?" asked Garnet.
"They kicked me out when they discovered I was a girl," said Anna.
"How old were you when this happened?" asked Garnet.
"Eight," said Anna.
"What did you do?" asked Garnet.
"I traveled the world working for various Guilds," said Anna. "Eventually, the Duke invited me to take care of things here so I ended up working here."
"But why would he trust you with a baby?" asked Garnet. "Most of those people are fighters."
"He met me in the day care at a guild," said Anna. "I was hired by the guild itself, not doing their requests."
"That makes a lot more sense," said Garnet. "But what made you decide to accept?"
"I just wanted a change," said Anna. "I spent so much of my life fighting and I just wanted to get away from it for a while."
"What about now?" asked Garnet.
"This life is good," said Anna. "I have to fight sometimes, but the reasons for it are good. To protect someone rather than to kill something. It was not what I expected, but it is nice."
A year passed before important news arrived. Both Jasper and Jade were capable of crawling on their own now and struggling to walk. The other servants were much more able to aid Garnet in taking care of them, but Garnet and Anna did everything but wash their clothes. That was left up to the servants. Garnet felt relieved that there was help. "The King is nearing death," said Anna as she finished reading the letter.
"That means its almost time," said Garnet.
"Yes," said Anna. "It is likely that Duke Gray will accuse the other Dukes of poisoning the King and killing him."
"How do you know this?" asked Garnet.
"That is probably the easiest way for Duke Gray to build his own support while undermining the others," said Anna. "With control of security in the city, it is easy to get away with poisoning the King yourself and then blaming it on others."
"People won't just believe him right?" said Garnet. "That seems ridiculous."
"Kings are often poisoned to death near their end if someone desires their power," said Anna. "With his control solidifed in Antium, there's a little you can do about it."
"What if there was someone who had just as much if not more influence than him?" asked Garnet.
"That's impossible, the only person who is more powerful than a Duke is the King or his Wizard," said Anna.
"I know the Wizard," said Garnet. "He owes me a favor."
"Then it isn't impossible," said Anna. "When the time comes, you can try to call it in, that would disrupt his power and prevent him from seizing Antium for himself."
Now all they had to do was wait. Duke Wellington was already setting things in place. The alliance with Duchess Kiko and Duke Innes was already in place. The condition was that when Duke Gray turned on them, they would unite against him. Duchess Kiko only agreed on the condition that she would be Queen when they won. Duke Wellington agreed.
Garnet spent her free time traveling between Anzio to visit Ruby and taking care of Jade and Jasper. She had her hands full with just those duties. "Will our kids be safe?" Garnet asked Duke Wellington.
"I'm not sure," said Duke Wellington. "But I plan to send them up north with Leeroy and Ruby."
"Doesn't the school only accept them once they are five?" asked Garnet.
"Yes," said Duke Wellington. "But I arranged for a house up there with a few servants and Leeroy. If we sent them, they should be safe."
"Thank you," said Garnet.
"What do you plan to do?" asked Duke Wellington.
"What do you mean?" asked Garnet.
"I want you to leave with Anna and go North to Anzio where you will be safe," said Duke Wellington. "If they capture any nobles or their servants during a war, they will most likely be executed."
Those words dwelled on Garnet's mind. She wanted to keep her family safe, but Duke Wellington would have to fight in the front lines if he was going to be King. "How can Duke Gray challenge three other Dukes at once? That seems impossible," said Garnet.
"Not if you've been skimming from the royal treasury for many years," said Duke Wellington. "It's likely that is how he built his army in the first place."
It turned out that the King might not have been the problem. As crazy as King Caligula was, he had some smart people around him like Zedd. It was Duke Gray who was able to redirect some money and it prevented the other nobles from being able to do their jobs. Although the Dukes were technically equal in standing, they struggled with each other for power and Duke Gray had the largest military, which he used as a threat against many others. Through that he was able to consolidate his power and keep the others weak.
Garnet knew that one day she would have to return to fighting, even if it was not for Duke Wellington or Antium, it was clear that Zedd knew she would have to do more. Antium was only the first step. "I need you to teach me more," Garnet said to Anna.
"Teach you what?" asked Anna.
"The sword and the fist," said Garnet. "These are the most common weapons yet I barely know how to use them."
"I did say I would," said Anna. "Why do you bring this up now?"
"I feel that there's not much time left until we're going to have to fight," said Garnet.
Anna's face changed. It was one that of worry. "So you're going to fight?" asked Anna.
"I might have to," said Garnet. "It's something that someone entrusted to me. Even if they lied to me, it's why I am here."
Support creative writers by reading their stories on Royal Road, not stolen versions.
"I'll take care of your kids, you won't have to worry about them," said Anna. "But remember your promise to Ruby, you have to come back."
"I know," said Garnet. "So can you teach me?"
"Of course I will," said Anna. "The more you know, the better chance you have of surviving."
It was a few more days before Anna brought it up again. "Okay, I'm finally ready to train you," said Anna. She tossed Garnet's ao dai at her. "Wear this."
"Finally?" said Garnet. "It's been three days." Garnet put on the ao dai and saw that it increased all of her stats. She wanted to check, but did not want to show Anna more than necessary.
Name: Anna
Level: ???
Class: Monk
Sub-Class: Lotus Warrior Black
Stats: ???
Garnet still could not see Anna's level. She really wanted to know how strong Anna was, but Anna was somehow able to hide her personal information from Garnet. It was clear that Anna was very strong, but Garnet wanted to know how strong.
"I had to get something made," said Anna. She took out numerous swords and books in front of her. "Pick two," said Anna.
"Why two?" asked Garnet.
"There's generally one weapon for fighting other people and one for other monsters," said Anna.
"Books?" asked Garnet. "Why are there books?"
"Each weapon comes with a philosophy and set styles," said Anna. "If you don't understand the philosophy, you will never understand how to fully use the weapon."
"What about dual wielding with two swords?" asked Garnet.
"Don't be silly, that is both stupid and impractical," said Anna. "Not only is your body unsuited for it, you won't be able to use its full power and it is more effective to wield a one handed sword with both hands to increase its power instead."
"What do you recommend?" asked Garnet.
"This," said Anna. She pointed to a sword with a gold, blue, and black hilt. It was sharp on both sides and had an oily look throughout most of the sword. The edges of it looked like a normal sword. It came with a matching blue scabbard as well. "It's called a Damascus Sword."
Garnet picked up the sword to look closer at. The hilt was fairly big and the sword was much bigger compared to the short sword that she used. It was also not made of metal. It was made of some type of wood. "What makes this one so special?" asked Garnet.
"It is forged of a special steel and can be used to channel magic through it," said Anna. She took the sword from Garnet. "Watch." Anna closed her eyes and the entire sword erupted in blue flames. She swung it around before dispersing the flames.
"I never knew you could use a sword like that," said Garnet.
"There are few swords that can do this, but as a mage, I think this one is best for you," said Anna.
"Thank you," said Garnet. "I'll use that one. What about the second sword?" asked Garnet.
"With a sword like that one, you can just stick with one since it will be effective against monsters as well," said Anna.
"What about something like a dagger?" asked Garnet.
"Like the one you like to keep tied to your leg?" said Anna. "That's not a bad idea as long as you don't accidentally cut yourself with it." She took out a very short sword that was a little curved. It was barely even a sword. It was an Asian style sword.
Garnet watched as Anna removed it from the scabbard. "This is called a wakizashi," said Anna. "It's basically a class of short swords."
"Is there a difference?" asked Garnet.
"Nope," said Anna. "But it's small enough to keep hidden and tied to your leg."
"Then I will choose this two per your recommendation," said Garnet.
"You should take this too," said Anna as she pushed forward a hand crossbow. She tied it around Garnet's wrist and folded it. She pushed the arrow down into the slot and it opened up. She then pushed in the sides and the whole thing folded up. It could be hidden under the sleeves of something like a robe or a dress.
"This seems like a lot," said Garnet.
"This is to keep you safe," said Anna. "This way you are prepared for every situation."
Garnet was able to wear her sword at her side. The short sword she strapped to her leg. The hand crossbow on her right wrist.
"Get used to moving around in that setup," said Anna. "If something doesn't work, try rearranging your weapons."
Garnet walked around and the sword at her side threw off her balance. She strapped it to her back and pulled it out like that instead. "This is okay," said Garnet.
"Then show me what you already know," said Anna.
Garnet only had three sword skills. Horizontal Slash, Double Slash, and Crescent Slash. She demonstrated each of these to Anna. "Just these," said Garnet.
"Not too bad," said Anna. "But there's a lot to learn."
Anna picked up a similar length sword and stood next to Garnet. "Follow me," said Anna. Garnet watched her sword movements very carefully. Anna slowly did a horizontal slash, a diagonal slash, then a downward slash. It resembled the number four when it was completed. Garnet repeated the movements.
New Skill: Triple Slash (Level 1)
A horizontal slash followed by a diagonal upward slash and then a downward vertical slash. Breaks guard.
MP Cost: 50
Anna only smiled at Garnet. At this point, she had expected that Garnet would learn it easily, so it was no surprise. The next attack was a diagonal upward slash, a diagonal downward slash, followed by a horizontal slash. BOOM. There was a giant triangle smashed into the floor.
"What was that?!?" shouted Garnet. "That did not seem like a sword attack."
"It is and it isn't," said Anna. "It uses the sword, but it can also be used at a distance. You need to infuse wind magic into your attack to do this one."
Garnet repeated the movements, keeping the mana flowing into her sword. The result was just a simple triple slash into the ground. No explosion.
New Skill: Delta Attack (Level 1)
A diagonal upward slash, followed by a diagonal downward slash and then a full spin horizontal slash. Can be infused with magic to be used at a distance. Breaks guard.
MP Cost: 100
All of the skills had special effects. The ones that Garnet learned on her own were simply different types of slashes. The ones that Anna was teaching her were far superior.
"Just practice until you can do it in the future," said Anna. "There's still a lot more."
"How many more?" asked Garnet.
"That depends on how much you have time for," said Anna. "There's possibly hundreds, but I'm teaching you the most versatile ones."
"Hundreds?!?" shouted Garnet. She never knew that there could be so many.
"There's always simple techniques like so," said Anna as she thrust the sword forward with a dash. BOOM. There was a loud explosive sound. In that short distance, she had created a sonic boom like the Siren did.
Garnet tried it, but she could not replicate it. She only covered a fraction of the distance. "That's one thing I cannot do yet," said Garnet. "That is no means simple!"
"I'm glad, for a moment, I thought you would be able to instantly learn everything," said Anna. "That would indeed be scary, but it is still simple because it is a straight movement. Nothing fancy."
"I see," said Garnet. "What about skills for fighting multiple enemies?"
"Basically you just want wide swings," said Anna. "But the real problem is the loss of momentum from trying to cut several enemies." She held the sword backwards with the blade facing downward and swung her sword at almost a full 360. "Feel free to add fire or wind to it as well." She did it again and blue flames spread outward in every direction.
Garnet tried it with the full spin.
New Skill: Spiral (Level 1)
A full 360 degree swing that hits everything around the user. The damage to targets after the first one is reduced. Magic can be added to increase its effect.
MP Cost: 100
"Just stick to these for now," said Anna. "Having too many at this point will only wear you down considering we still have hand to hand skills."
Garnet continued to swing her sword. "Can you mirror me?" she asked.
"Sure," said Anna. She raised her sword and the two went through the moves slowly.
Garnet wanted to feel what it was like for sword to strike sword. It was the best she could do for a simulation without hurting anyone or getting hurt. It was not as good as the real thing, but it was better than nothing."Okay, that's enough," said Garnet as she put away her sword.
"Take the books too," said Anna.
Garnet went to take the books for the corresponding swords. She flipped through them and there were detailed images of different movements. "Were these made by you?" asked Garnet.
"Yes," said Anna. "I put what I learned in these books and divided them by weapon type."
"I will study hard," said Garnet. She remembered she still had Zedd's book, but out of spite, she had not taken a look at it. At this point though, she would need to as well. There was no telling how dangerous the upcoming war was going to be.
Anna walked up to Garnet. "Just follow my movements," said Anna.
Garnet had only learned a few simple punches and kicks. Her most advanced techniques were palm strikes that had been infused with mana. She watched as Anna used both her hands. Garnet's attacks had only used one hand at a time.
"Every attack with your hands and feet can be infused with magic," said Anna. "It makes it much more dangerous, but it also gives away that you are either a mage or a very high level warrior, so be careful with it."
"Okay," said Garnet.
The first was an upward swing that could be accompanied with a dash to increase its power.
New Skill: Uppercut (Level 1)
A powerful upward blow aimed at the opponent's chest or head. Can cause the enemy to stagger.
MP Cost: 30
Next was a punch that was accompanied by a loud sound. VWOOM. It was as if a giant burst of wind was released with a punch.
New Skill: Ki Burst (Level 1)
A mana infused attack that releases an explosive burst to knock away or knock down opponents.
MP Cost: 200
"The advanced skills all require you to have high speed or a way of increasing your speed," said Anna. "So most of them are out of your league for now."
"Aww," Garnet cried disappointedly.
"But you should be able to do multi hit combos," said Anna. "Watch closely." Anna lowered herself and moved left and right in a figure eight. As she changed direction, she launched a punch. "But it is important to be able to move freely and disrupt your own movement as needed. Anna was able to back away even though it looked like she was moving in to attack.
Garnet did poorly at trying to interrupt her own movements, but nonetheless was able to do at least the basic movements.
New Skill: Dempsey Roll
A combination of movement and attacking that makes the attacker much harder to hit.
MP Cost: 100
"But, here is the most important skill," said Anna.
Garnet felt an overwhelming amount of power being released by Anna. "Hold still," said Anna as she moved her index finger towards Garnet. "It will hurt for a second, but when you feel the power flow through your body, I want you to maintain it as much as you can."
"Why did you wait until last to teach me the most important skill?" asked Garnet.
"Because I'm pretty sure you'll be out for a while after i do this," Anna explained.
"Okay," said Garnet. She tried her best not to move, but she stiffed up.
"You need to relax otherwise this will only hurt more," said Anna.
Garnet tried, but she barely loosened up. The amount of mana being released by Anna was a frigtening amount. Anna touched her finger tips to Garnet's forehead. "UGH!" Garnet groaned as she collapsed on the ground.
Garnet felt the mana coursing throughout her body, but it was very painful, as if all the blood vessels in her body were being forced open with pure power.
Skill Upgrade: Mana Strike + Mana Shield -> Mana Armor (Level 1)
By continuously releasing mana around your body, you are able to convert your physical attacks into magical, use mana to reduce or negate all forms of incoming damage, and sense objects that come into contact with your armor.
MP Cost: Varies depending on the strength of it and amount of incoming damage, applied per second, minimum cost of of 10 per second and damage ratio of 1 mana per 5 damage
"That's it for now," said Anna. "Just remember to aim for easy to hit locations like the chest and stomach. Avoid the head because that is a smaller target."
"Okay," groaned Garnet who was still collapsed onto the ground.
"And be sure to find yourself a weapon that can enhance your magic," said Anna. "I don't have something like that, but I'm sure you'll be able to find one somewhere or make one yourself in the future."
Garnet practiced these skills every time she was free when she did not have to take care of Jasper or Jade or visit Ruby in Anzio. She even kept her Mana Armor on as much as possible every day. The results were significant, but it still did not feel like much compared to some of the other people. Thanks to Anna's training program, Garnet's stats nearly doubled in all areas. Even intelligence received a massive boost.
Stat Increase: Strength +20
Stat Increase: Dexterity +20
Stat Increase: Intelligence +20
Stat Increase: Vitality +20
Stat Increase: Agility +20
Zedd could probably do much more for Garnet when it came to magic. Garnet wanted to call in that favor, but it seemed like this was not the time for it either.
Garnet knew that these days would not last. Before long, the news finally came. King Caligula was dead. He had passed away after being sick for over three years. The long anticipated struggle between the Dukes was finally going to begin.
