After Garnet returned to Constantinople, she could not help but look at all the materials the Lich Raphael had collected. There were two large chunks of Hihi'irokane, the material that Garnet was looking for. On top of that, there was a huge amount of gold, and numerous random metals and crystals. There was also black metal similar to the Hihi'irokane called Orihalcum, and a white metal similar to the Hihi'irokane called Mithril.
Without the knowledge to actually process the materials, it was impossible to do anything with them for now. "Do you know how to process these metals?" Garnet asked Zedd.
"No," said Zedd. "These materials are extraordinarily rare. Did you check with Serena?"
"She said that we needed to open the hidden door of the Vault in order to do it," Garnet replied.
"Any ideas how?" Zedd asked.
Garnet shook her head. "It's impossible without the Guardian of Metal," said Garnet. "Serena did not know what happened to the Guardian of Metal, she supposedly disappeared during the Invasion about fifty years ago. Since then, there was nothing."
"Do you know what this guardian looks like?" asked Zedd. "If you did, maybe we could find them?"
Garnet headed to the library where she found Riley and Serena, still rummaging through the books for the right spells. "Serena, do you have any idea what the Guardian of Metal looks like?" she asked.
Serena headed towards the back of the library. "Follow me," she said.
"Where are we going?" Garnet asked.
"Our generation of guardians was based on numerous experiments," Serena explained. "We were mostly slaves, offered up by our Masters in order to become artificial Heroes to protect our city."
"Artificial Heroes?" said Garnet.
"The Hero Summoning was considered as unreliable, so the people of Constantinople sought another way," said Serena. "This was the origin of the Guardians. In exchange for some of our free will, we are granted immense power."
"How many generations of Guardians have their been?" Garnet asked.
"Three since they started keeping track," said Serena. "Yours will be the fourth."
Serena placed her hand on the blank wall. A blue five petal flower appeared as her hand slipped right through the wall. "This is the only hidden room, that I have access too," she said as she pulled out a book.
"What is this book?" Garnet asked.
"It is the document of every known Guardian of Constantinople since the city started keeping track of them," said Serena.
Garnet opened the book. The first on the list was a young boy about ten years of age with blonde hair and blue eyes. He was named: T-308. His element, earth. Next was a young man with reddish skin and black hair. N-44, the Guardian of Wood. "Can you just show me who I should be looking for?" Garnet asked.
Serena flipped the book several pages over. "She is the one you're looking for," said Serena.
"It can't be," said Garnet as she looked at the picture. It was Anna. The same Anna that was taking care of her kids. "Riley!" Garnet shouted as she ran back.
"Wait what is it?" Serena asked.
"I think I know her," said Garnet. "Riley!" she shouted again.
Riley came running. "What is it?" she asked.
"Is this Anna?" Garnet asked as she pointed to the picture.
Riley looked at the picture of the person. "It does look a little like her, but she has longer hair in this picture."
"Zedd!" Garnet shouted. "I know you're in here!"
Zedd jumped down from one of the areas higher up in the library and floated down. "What is it?" he asked.
"Is this Anna?" Garnet asked as she pointed to the picture.
Zedd looked closely at it. "I think so," he said.
"I have to know," said Garnet. "Teleportation Summoning Circle! Teleport!" Garnet immediately headed back to the castle of Antium.
When Garnet arrived in the throne room, there was no one there. Two guards stood outside and bowed to Garnet as she walked by. "Where's Anna?" she asked.
"The same place as usual, with your children," said one of the guards.
"Thank you," said Garnet as she walked off.
"Did you see her enter?" asked the other guard.
"No," said the first guard.
"I hope we don't get in trouble for this," said the other guard.
Garnet ran over to Anna's room as quickly as she could. She knocked on the door. The door slowly opened as Anna stepped out. "They're sleeping," she said.
"I came to speak with you today," said Garnet.
"What's wrong?" Anna asked.
"Guardian of Metal?" Garnet quietly asked.
Anna's face suddenly changed. "So you know who I am," said Anna.
"What are you?" Garnet asked.
"I am an artificial metal spirit," Anna explained. "My generation of Guardians were all artificial elemental spirits."
"Why did you not say anything?" Garnet asked.
"It's not something I want to remember," said Anna. "Do you remember what I told you?"
"You're tired of fighting," said Garnet. "I remember."
"I severed my connection to Constantinople during its fall," Anna explained.
"Why?" Garnet asked. "Serena was looking for you."
"I know," said Anna. "But I don't want to go back. If I go back, it will be my duty to become the Hero's weapon once again."
"I won't make you if you don't want to go back," said Garnet. "Besides, I feel safer with you watching over my children."
"Thanks," said Anna. "So may I ask what you are here for today?"
"The hidden door of the Vault," said Garnet. "Serena said you have access to it."
"How bad is it for you to need to open it?" Anna asked.
"What is in the Vault?" Garnet asked. She had no idea what Anna was referring to.
"The Hidden Vault is the official name of it given by Master Assad," said Anna. "It contains the great weapon that he was working on before he ascended."
"There are at least two groups of enemies that are after me and Constantinople right now," said Garnet. "The first is the Grey Ghosts, who said the allied forces of Anzio would descened upon the city. The second is a group of Dark Mages. And, I think there might be another Invasion soon."
"That is bad," said Anna. "But do not worry, I will protect this region no matter what."
"Did you know that I was the Hero?" Garnet asked.
"Yes," said Anna. "As a former Guardian, I could sense off the unique aura that you gave off in addition to your ability to make natural creatures you kill respawn."
"I give off an aura?" said Garnet. "I never knew that."
"It's only something an artificial Guardian that went through the Rebirth process can do," said Anna.
"So that's why you and Serena can sense me," said Garnet as she realized how Serena knew. "You're quite a good actress by the way. I really thought that you were surprised by my special ability."
"I've had time to practice," said Anna. "Thank you for not forcing me back."
"I will not force you to do something against your will," said Garnet. "You're a good friend and I trust you."
"And I will trust you," said Anna as she took a black ring out of her storage ring. She handed the ring to Garnet.
"What is this?" Garnet asked.
"The key to the Hidden Vault of Constantinople," said Anna. "I know I called it a key even though it is a ring, but that's what it is used for."
"Do I just put it on?" Garnet asked.
"Use it with your Map," said Anna. "Follow the light of the ring."
"Do you know where the hidden rooms of Constantinople are then?" Garnet asked.
"Heh, the hidden rooms is a joke that Master Assad liked to play on everyone," said Anna. "The only hidden rooms are the ones available to each Guardian."
"But, Serena kept the book of past Guardians and you kept Master Assad's weapons locked away," said Garnet. "Does that mean there's three more?"
"Well if you really want to know," said Anna. "Don't blame me if it ruins your image of the Hero."
Garnet really wanted to know. "What could it possibly be?" she asked.
"One is dirty magazines," said Anna.
"..." Garnet was speechless. "You're serious?" she asked.
"Yes," said Anna. "Dirty magazines. As a Hero, he was not allowed to have martial relations by the city until much later in his life because they were afraid he would prioritize his family over his duties. As a concession, they at least allowed him to have dirty pictures and magazines. It didn't help that both me and Serena worked with him often."
"And the other two?" Garnet asked.
"One contains Master Assad's favorite snacks, probably expired by now and one is his private quarters," said Anna. "Those are the five hidden rooms of Constantinople."
"Where is the Hidden Vault?" Garnet asked Anna.
"Put on the ring and walk around in the vault," Anna explained. "Follow the light. If it gets brighter, you're getting close. If it dims, you're moving away."
For a short time, Garnet imagined Constantinople as a city filled with secrets and treasures. She knew now that the only treasures were the Ark and the knowledge contained within it. The rest were remnants of an abandoned city. "Why doesn't Serena know this?" Garnet asked.
"Serena took her job way too seriously," Anna replied. "In fact, the other Guardians did as well, so Master Assad only told me about this because he was worried about the shock that would happen to them."
Garnet was shocked by this too. If the other Guardians who dedicated their life to protect Constantinople knew this, they would probably react negatively as well. She needed to immediately get this out of her mind as well. "You said you're a spirit of metal right?" Garnet asked.
"Yes," said Anna. "An artificial one, but I can do what most normal spirits do as well."
"Were most of Constantinople's Guardians made like you?" Garnet asked.
"Some humanoid ones were," Anna responded. "Some were immensely strong creatures or spirits, others were made from scratch."
Garnet took out the Hihi'irokane. "Can you process this into Liquid Bio-Metal Zi?" she asked.
"For the automata?" Anna asked.
"Yes," Garnet confirmed.
"Do you have the other metals?" Anna asked.
"Other metals?" said Garnet. "What other metals?"
"The Hihi'irokane needs to be combined with Orihalcum and Mithril to be made into Liquid Bio-Metal Zi," Anna explained.
"I have all three," said Garnet. "A Lich had all three in its possession and it was speaking to an eye like the one overlooking the city during the Invasion."
"Then it's good you took it," said Anna. "It was likely they were trying to create this metal as well."
"What's so special about this metal?" Garnet asked.
"It's a liquid metal can be injected into anything in order to increase their abilities by increasing their sensitivity to different types of energies like mana," said Anna. "You can turn a nobody into a gifted mage. A gifted mage could become an incredible one."
Garnet had a thought. "Would it work on me?" she asked.
"It works on anything," said Anna. "Are you sure you want to do it? If you do, I can make an injection for you."
Garnet remembered Adam had used something like an injection before. "Do mages use things like this often?" she asked.
"When a person's strength reaches a bottleneck, they will try to do different things to reach the next level," Anna explained. "There are some items that do have side effects, like injecting your body with poison over time to give yourself poisonous attacks would weaken your endurance in the long run."
Garnet realized that was most likely what Xiaomei had done. "Did you do anything like that?" she asked.
"How do you think Guardians of Constantinople are made?" Anna asked. "We're injected with this stuff as well."
"Are there any side effects?" Garnet asked.
"Just a little pain," said Anna. "That's why this material is so precious. It's called a bio-metal because it works with people or objects."
"Do it," said Garnet. She needed the strength. The Grey Ghosts had lots of combat experience and were stronger than her. Xiaomei had the speed and skill to overcome Garnet's strength. She was falling behind in terms of power compared to the others.
"Let's go somewhere with few people," said Anna.
"Is it okay to leave them in there?" Garnet asked as she pointed to the room behind Anna.
"There's two other maids working with them, they'll be fine," said Anna. "This way," said Anna as she pulled Garnet by the hand.
The two headed to Zedd's room in the castle. "Should we be using it without his permission?" Garnet asked.
"He lets Rito and his friends use it all the time," said Anna. "He won't mind if we borrow it for a second."
"What do I have to do?" Garnet asked.
"Nothing," said Anna. "Just throw everything in the pot."
Garnet carefully placed the Hihi'irokane, Orihalcum, and Mithril into the cauldron that was normally used for magicraft. "It's in," she said.
"You don't have to be careful with that stuff," said Anna. "They're durable and I'm going to be melting them down anyways."
"Work your magic then, oh great Guardian of Metal," said Garnet sarcastically.
"Real funny," said Anna. She pushed Garnet to the side. "Just stand back and watch."
Anna raised both her hands and stretched out her fingers. She straightened her hands and began to press them together. The metal in the pot began to react to the movements. When it was done, the red crystal had turned into a bright piece of red metal. "Step one done," said Anna.
"How many steps are there?" Garnet asked.
"Three," said Anna. "Step two begins now." Anna superheated the pot. The whole thing glowed orange. The black and white metals in the pot melted into the red one, turning the whole thing into one large shiny silver ingot.
"I don't think something like that could be placed inside a person's body without killing them," said Garnet.
"Just wait until I'm done," said Anna. The metal slowly melted as the heat died down.
"I thought metals were supposed to melt at high temperatures, not low ones," said Garnet.
"Liquid Bio-Metal Zi is something very unique," said Anna. "No matter how much people have experimented or tried to tweak the recipe, it hasn't worked. It is something very unique and does not follow traditional laws of physics."
When the metal completely cooled, it turned into a silver colored liquid. No matter how she looked at it, Garnet could not help but think that it was something poisonous. "Are you sure it's okay to be injected into a person's body?" she asked.
"Yes," said Anna. "It's how the Guardians of Constantinople are made."
"Can each of the automata become as powerful as a Guardian?" Garnet asked.
"I wish," said Anna. "But sadly, the core of the city cannot support such a powerful army."
Garnet watched as Anna took out a needle and filled it with the silver liquid. "You're sure this is safe right?" Garnet asked.
"I injected mana into your body to awaken your Mana Armor last time," said Anna. "This should hurt less than that."
It was not very comforting for Garnet. When Anna awakened Garnet's Mana Armor, Garnet collapsed onto the floor in pain. Garnet braced herself for the pain as she looked away from the needle. "I'm ready," said Garnet.
Anna inserted the needle into Garnet's forearm. Garnet felt a little pain as the liquid entered her body. "It's going to take a few minutes before it goes into effect," said Anna as she disposed of the needle and took out a huge jug.
"No need to store it," said Garnet as she opened her Minion Development Menu. She activated the Mana Conduit upgrade on the automata.

"A thousand soldiers," Garnet said. "That's what I just created in an instant." The thought of such an ability was frightening. However, this might give Constantinople the power it needed to stop people from raiding the city all the time.
"A legendary material, almost all gone in an instant," said Anna. "Like always."
Garnet looked over and saw a few drops left. "How did you know there was enough for me?"
"I did this for Master Assad as well," said Anna. "You might want to sit down as well."
"I knew it," said Garnet. "It's gonna hurt isn't it?" she asked.
"Maybe," said Anna.
FWOOSH. "Gah!" Garnet screamed as her wings bursted from her back, unable to retract them.
"It's starting," said Anna calmly as she crossed her legs to watch.
"What's happening to me?" Garnet groaned.
"Master Assad referred to it as Secondary Evolution," said Anna. "It's when your transformation somehow mutates and grants you new abilities. It usually happens when you use your transformations enough."
Garnet recognized it as what happened to Adam. Adam had used some type of injection to be able to transform into a dragon. Garnet used the bio-metal instead. "Will I remain human?" Garnet asked.
"Yes," Anna replied. "It would be pointless if this thing turned you into a monster entirely. Most people don't even change their appearance. It might change your transformation though."

Garnet breathed heavily as she recovered from the transformation. She stumbled to get back on her feet. "Congratulations on your Second Evolution," said Anna.
Garnet looked at her own body. Her hands were shaped more like a normal person's rather than claws though her feet still looked more monster like than human. Parts of the black scales fused into a thin smooth layer instead of being rough, giving her more flexibility and making it easier to move. It resembled the plate armor that Nian had, but was pitch black in color. "Can I get a mirror?" Garnet asked. She still needed to look at her face.
Anna handed Garnet the mirror and Garnet stared into it. Her head now had a pair of black horns, but her face resembled her untransformed face more. Her hair still reached down to the floor like the previous. Her eyes were normal, her face was normal. There were black marks that stretched to her cheeks She could still be recognized as Garnet when transformed. "It looks a little like a mix between your old transformation and your normal self," said Anna as she looked over Garnet's shoulder.
"It feels incredible," said Garnet.
"It'll take your body a while to adapt to the changes," said Anna. "Until then you shouldn't fight in this form."
"What happens if I fight in this form?" Garnet asked.
"Your mana will drain incredibly quickly and it will not last long," said Anna. "New transformations tend to do that and it will leave you weak."
"I never knew that," said Garnet.
"That was why you were bedridden for so long just from maintaining a partial transformation and why you healed from it so fast once you were able to stop it," Anna explained.
"How long does it take?" Garnet asked.
"I don't know," said Anna as she shook her head. "It's different for each person. For now, maintain the transformation, but don't fight in the form," said Anna. "Your body will adapt to it quicker."
"Thanks for the information," said Garnet. "Now, I think I should head back."
"Don't forget to stop by some time," said Anna.
"I'll try, but I'm worried my presence will draw attention to Antium," said Garnet.
"Oh those grey cloaked people already know," said Anna. "They've tried to get in many times, but every time, I will stop them."
"Is Ruby okay in Anzio?" Garnet asked.
"She's safe," said Anna. "I made sure of it."
"How did you do that?" Garnet wondered.
Anna took out a pair of bracelets. Each one had a blue crystal in them. "See these?" Anna asked.
"Yes," said Garnet.
Anna pulled out a sword and struck her arm with it. CLANG. The entire sword bounced right off of her arm. "Ruby has this and so does Leeroy," said Anna.
"That's a relief," said Garnet. "But what if they aren't wearing it?"
"The effects are absorbed into the person over time," said Anna. "It eventually becomes a passive ability for the wearer."
"That's incredible," said Garnet.
"It's something that only the top magicrafters can make," Anna explained. "Don't worry about the safety of Antium or your children, I promise you I will protect them no matter what," said Anna as she placed her hand on Garnet's shoulder.
"Aren't you weakened without the protection of Constantinople and the power of the Guardians?" asked Garnet.
"Did you forget what I did after I left Constantinople?" Anna asked.
Garnet remembered Anna traveled the world as a member of the Guild. She had reached diamond rank during her travels. Garnet could not even make it out of copper, the lowest set of ranks, due to the lack of requests. For Anna to have done that, it would have required many years. "Thank you for your help," said Garnet.
"Any time," said Anna. "Do you want the remaining drops as well?" she asked pointing to the pot with the remaining Liquid Bio-Metal Zi.
"Is there anything that I can do with that little?" Garnet asked.
Anna put her finger to her chin as she thought. "Oh I know!" she said as she clapped her hands together.
Garnet watched as Anna shaped the remaining Liquid Bio-Metal Zi into small round drops. They solidified into tiny beads. Anna attached them onto a pair of earrings, handing one to Garnet. "Here you go," she said.
Name: Anna's Ear Pin
Class: Mythical
Effects : ???
"What is it?" Garnet asked as she looked at it. There were numerous tiny little markings all over it, including something that resembled a magic circle.
"Hold onto it," said Anna as she pinned it onto the hole on her ear.
"What does it do?" Garnet asked as she stored it inside her Inventory.
"If you ever run into an emergency, channel your mana into it," said Anna. "It will create a copy of me at a fraction of my power."
"Thank you," said Garnet.
"Your family has done more for me than I can ever repay you for," said Anna as she hugged Garnet. "Promise me you will take care of yourself."
"I will," said Garnet as she held onto Anna's arms. "I'm glad you're part of my family."
"Me too," said Anna. "If Constantinople is facing a true threat, then you need to be ready. Hurry and retrieve Master Assad's weapon."
"Alright," said Garnet. "Tell Charles I wanted to say 'hi.'"
"I will," said Anna.
"Teleportation!" Garnet returned to Constantinople with the key to the Hidden Vault in hand.
