Garnet was training under Zedd, trying to improve as much as she possibly could within the brief period of time. Since her Class Change into a Chaos Mage, her power had grown immensely and had a powerful new skill. Charles was taking care of everything else, so Garnet took her time to train. Garnet's mana was still not charging all the way to maximum. Riley was draining her still.
"Instance Dungeon Creation: Testing Grounds!" Zedd had the power to warp reality around him.
Garnet's power was not anywhere close enough to do the same. The lowest version of the spell required 10000 mana. Garnet was just over halfway there. Hopefully, this training would help her.
"Show me what you can do," said Zedd.
"Lightning Fire Bolt!" Garnet fired off a bolt of fire that was wrapped in lightning.
BOOM. The whole thing exploded in mid air before hitting a target. The explosive power was intense and it left the ground scorched in flames.
"Incredible," said Zedd. "Even I cannot cast dual element spells."
"Heat Wave!" Garnet watched as the wave of hot air spread outwards. It was slow, but she could tell that it was doing something to the ground.
"Call: Skeleton!" Garnet summoned some skeletons to use as targets. "Sorry about this."
"Heat Wave!" Garnet tried the spell once more. The hot wave of air went right past them. "It did nothing?" asked Garnet.
"Be careful and check up close," said Zedd.
Garnet walked up to the skeleton and put her hand close to it. She could feel the heat coming off of the skeleton. It was likely that the bones were scorching hot. This spell would basically use an opponent's armor against them and could probably cook them from the inside out. It was something she definitely should not use on humans unless she wanted to kill them.
"There's one more spell," said Garnet. "It requires more mana than all of the my other spells so far though."
"Let's see it then," said Zedd.
Garnet drew out her blue and gold handled sword. "Crimson Lotus: Blade of Lightning!" Sparks flew around Garnet's sword. The lightning began to surround the sword itself as flames wrapped around it. The size of the sword continue to grow and grow. Because Garnet could not channel her full mana into the blade, she had to wait for it to regenerate as she slowly added it, making it require an incredibly long amount of time to prepare.
"That looks like one of my spells too," said Zedd.
Garnet was too focused on her own sword to pay attention to what Zedd was saying. The blade of flame and lightning had grown to twice its original size and was radiating with power. With a single swing, the lightning and flame shot straight ahead. BOOM. There was a massive explosion. Garnet and Zedd could feel the heat and wind from where they were. However, the spell was not done yet. The lightning and flames spread outwards from the explosion. On the ground, the flames remained burning.
"So powerful," said Garnet.
"It's even more powerful than my version of the spell," said Zedd.
"Your version?" asked Garnet.
Zedd put his palms together and began to pull them apart slowly. "Sword of Light!" A blue sword appeared similar to the one that his Mana Armor had. As Zedd swung the sword, it simply cut the ground. Garnet's not only cut the ground, it exploded and left it burning as well.
"So what should I do?" asked Garnet.
"Just keep training your magic," said Zedd.
"Alright," said Garnet. "Can you keep this place open for me?"
"Sure," said Zedd.
"Lightning Fire Bolt!" Garnet continued to fire them to spend her mana.

"Did you get any new transformations by the way?" asked Zedd.
"Yes," said Garnet.
"Have you tried them?" asked Zedd.
"No," said Garnet. "One of them apparently sucks blood from the surrounding and I find that dangerous."
"You still need to get used to your transformations," said Zedd. "If you don't use them, you will not be able to use your full power."
"Transformation: Blood Reaper!" Garnet's entire mage robe turned red. It even became more revealing with a deep V on her chest. Her back and legs were fully exposed as well. Her hands were covered in blood as well. Her hair even turned red. "This doesn't feel right," said Garnet.
"Its purpose is to allow you to absorb blood through your body," said Zedd. "Of course it's going to be revealing."
"What's wrong with my hands?" asked Garnet.
"No idea," said Zedd. "Only another Blood Mage would know."
"Oh that's right!' said Garnet. "Call: Sylvia, Priestess of Blood!"
"You called?" said Sylvia.
"What is this?" asked Garnet as she raised her arm.
"Try swinging your arm," said Sylvia.
Garnet swung her arm and a wave of red blood appeared. She quickly checked her health. There was no change. The normal one would have cast from her health.
"It looks like every swing is the same as a Blood Scythe," said Sylvia.
"Blood Scythe!" Garnet cast the spell just to make sure. They both looked very similar. One was with her hands and one with was with a weapon with a longer reach. Other than that, they were the same. It looked like in this mode, she could use Blood Magic without it taking her health.
"Fire Bolt!" It did not work. Nothing happened. "Lightning Fire Bolt!" Nothing either. "Flight!" Garnet could not fly either. It looked like in this mode, only Blood Magic could be used. All other magic was disabled while in Blood Reaper mode. "Thanks for the help Sylvia. Dismiss!" With that Garnet felt like she had a feel on what Blood Reaper mode was like. It was a berserker style fighting where one would go in and kill and drain health from enemies in order to restore her own. It was probably not something that she was going to use since it prevented her from using her other magic as well.
Zedd simply stood and observed seeing if he could offer any advice.
"Transformation: Elementalist!" This was the mode that Garnet got with the Class Change to Chaos Mage. Her entire robe changed again. She was glad it was not revealing like the Blood Reaper. The Elementalist one changed the colors. Her robe was blue. The gloves were red. The shoes were green. Her hair turned yellow. Four colors. It looked like a child just painted each part of her clothes differently.
"Fire Bolt!" Garnet fired a massive Fire Bolt that shot forward at an incredible speed. It reached the ground in an instant. BOOM. There was a massive explosion. "Lightning Bolt!" Every one of her fingers generated lightning as it zapped forward. The lightning was much larger and thicker than her normal cast. "Air Bullet!" VWOOM. Garnet was knocked back and fell down from the force created by it. "Blood Bullet!" BANG. Garnet felt pain flow through her body when she used the spell. After all, Blood Magic used health instead of mana. It was risky, but it had a lot of special effects. The spells were all enhanced by her transformation.
"Any special preferences?" asked Zedd.
"Elementalist and Temptress of the Night," said Garnet.
"It's best to focus on those and ignore the rest then," said Zedd.
"How many transformations do you have?" Garnet asked.
"Let's see," said Zedd. He was counting. He actually needed to count how many he had.
"Correct that, how many do you actually use?" asked Garnet.
"Two," said Zedd. "You saw one. This is the other. Transformation: Grand Wizard!"
Garnet watched as Zedd created a suit of armor around himself. On his left floating to his side was his staff. On his right was the sword used by his Mana Armor. It was most likely a form that used sword skills and magic. This further reinforced the idea that the strongest people were very similar. But, Garnet also wondered what Anna would use. She was definitely strong, possibly even near Zedd's level.
Garnet continued to train her magic, constantly depleting her mana at Zedd's order. The problem was that her mana recovered extremely quickly. Sadly, the increase was not as much from fighting.

"Don't you have any special training programs for mages?" Garnet asked.
"Sadly, not at your level," said Zedd. "They require you to be able to create your own Instance Dungeon."
"That means I still need a lot more mana," said Garnet. Garnet had hoped there was a faster way to power, but there was not.
"Lord Zedd, you must come up here fast!" a guard interrupted.
"Instance Dungeon Deletion!" The moment Zedd said those words, the area that he created disappeared.
"What is it?" asked Zedd.
"The sky, a red star has appeared!" said the guard.
Zedd immediately rushed to the balcony of the castle. Garnet followed too. As Garnet looked up into the sky, she saw a red moon alongside the actual moon. "It's coming," said Zedd. "The Invasion is coming. Inform the King and tell him to gather the soldiers as soon as possible."
"Yes sir!" said the guard as he ran off.
Garnet stared into the blood red moon. She felt something strange as she looked into it, as if something was squeezing her heart in her chest. It was extremely discomforting.

"What's wrong?" Zedd asked.
"I feel sick looking at it," said Garnet. "There's a pressure at my chest like something is crushing my heart."
"Let's get you back to bed so you can rest," said Zedd. "We will need you to be in top condition for the fight."
Zedd carried Garnet to the King's Chambers so she could sleep. "Thank you," said Garnet.
"You look pale," said Zedd. "I'm going to call a doctor to be sure."
Rito rushed to Garnet's side and began to check her. He took out a stethoscope and checked her heartbeat. "Don't resist," said Rito.
Garnet relaxed and felt Rito check her body with his mana. "Can you tell what's wrong?" asked Garnet.
"Something is draining your mana," said Rito.
"Why is this happening now?" asked Garnet. It was a lot more than what Riley was draining before. She only had about five percent.
"I don't know," said Rito. "I don't think this is just a coincidence."
"Just rest up for now," said Zedd. "We need you to be as strong as possible. Let me and the King take care of everything."
"Are you there?" asked Riley.
"Where are you?" asked Garnet.
"Still inside of you," said Riley. "But when I saw that red moon, I saw that I needed to help, so I need to borrow more of your power for a bit."
"What are you doing with my mana?" asked Garnet.
"I'm trying to restore at least part of myself with a temporary body," said Riley. "With this, you will be able to call me like any other spirit that you summon."
"How is that even possible?" asked Garnet.
"Did you forget?" asked Riley. "I'm a spirit. That means I should be able to be summoned like any other spirit."
Garnet fell asleep. Riley was draining a lot of her strength. When she finally woke up, Charles was there next to her. "How long was I out?" asked Garnet.
"A while," said Charles. "You were asleep for most of the day."
Garnet was still exhausted. Sleeping did not help. Riley was draining an incredible amount of her strength. "This better be worth it," Garnet thought. After all, she was losing valuable time. Then, it finally appeared.
New Skill: Call: Riley
Call forth Riley, the Rune Elementalist. Her power scales according to the summoner's intelligence.
MP Cost: 5000
The mana cost to summon Riley was immense. It was on the same cost as the sword spell, but it also meant that Riley would most likely be just as powerful. After all, the higher the mana cost, the greater the power.

"Done!" said Riley. "I'm going to be back in your mana resevoir, if I stay here too long, I feel I might do permanent damage to you."
"Alright," said Garnet. "Take care." That was the reason why Garnet also should not go in her mana reservoir too often. The exhaustion Garnet felt was just from Riley trying to cross over to give her a little help. The same thing would probably happen if Garnet tried to go inside her mana reservoir again. Continuing to do this would most likely shorten a person's lifespan. But for some reason, Riley's actions increased her own skills. "Did we share the experience?" Garnet thought.
Garnet took a look at the countdown timer. She had lost a few days.
Quest: The First Invasion (173:28:15)
Defend Antium from the first wave of the Invasion.

As Garnet got up, there were guards outside her door. The guards saluted her as she opened the door to look out. "Where is everyone?" Garnet asked.
"They are preparing at the courtyard your highness," said the guard. "Zedd asked you to join as soon as you can."
The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
"Alright," said Garnet as she closed the door again. She got dressed and headed to the courtyard. King Charles was with Zedd, Duke Innes, Duchess Kiko, and two new Dukes. All of them bowed except for Charles as Garnet approached.
"You're awake!" said Charles as he hugged Garnet.
"Not here," said Garnet. She looked at the other Dukes who all faced away.
"I'm Duke Keith," said the young man. "I replaced Duke Gray."
"I'm Duke Joey," said the middle aged man. "I took over King Charles' territory."
"Nice to meet you both," said Garnet. "Can someone tell me what is going on?"
"The red moon in the sky has gotten larger," said Zedd. "It's going to be a big Invasion."
"We've prepared an army of about 20000 for this," said Duke Innes. "They've been preparing since Charles asked for soldiers to be provided."
It was much larger than the army that fought against King Arnold. However, as Garnet took a look at them. Their levels were fairly low. The average was probably ten or so. "Are they strong enough?" Garnet asked.
"They'll be as strong as they need to be," said Charles. "We need you to be on the battlefield as well."
"The mere presence of royalty and nobility inspires people to fight," said Zedd. "So we are trying to get as many of them as possible to join us in the fight."
That was why Garnet received such a huge boost in stats while on the battlefield when the Dukes were fighting against King Arnold. Their presence provided a huge boost in stats to the soldiers. The same thing would work here, but with a King and Queen. "I wish to fight as well," said Garnet.
"No, that is too dangerous," said Charles.
"I don't intend to go alone," said Garnet.
"You will only fight as a last resort," said Zedd. "I'm going to have you prepare a spell with me."
"What spell?" Garnet asked.
"One that combines our swords together," said Zedd. "This is the first spell I ever created on my own and I believe it will have the power in case we need it. I call it the Sword of Elements."
"It would be great if we could have more soldiers though," said Duke Keith.
"I can get you a few more," said Garnet.
"No," said Zedd.
"I'm Queen, what are they going to do to me?" asked Garnet.
"There's a reason why it is taboo and I told you not to do it," said Zedd.
"At this point, any help is appreaciated," said Duke Joey. "I don't care if you're going to raise the dead."
"See," said Garnet.
"I won't stop you," said Zedd.
"Here we go," said Garnet.
"Call: Riley!" A pillar of light appeared similar to a Hero Summoning. A young woman with black hair and brown eyes appeared dressed in a black and green bodysuit a layer of leather armor appeared on top of it. "Riley?" asked Garnet.
Riley immediately hugged Garnet. "You did it!" said Riley.
"Wait a minute," said Charles. "Isn't Riley you?"
"Take a close look," said Garnet as she pulled Riley over.
Charles looked at both of them. They had a similar body figure and Riley looked a little like Garnet, but with brown eyes. "Are you two related?" asked Duke Keith.
"Sort of," said Garnet. "She drained a lot of my mana these last few days to make it possible. What can do you by the way?" Garnet asked.
Riley changed into a slightly older Garnet. It was exactly like Garnet's old appearance before returning before returning to the appearance that reminded Garnet of what Riley would look like if she was the daughter of her and the old Riley. However, Riley could not use a full transformation like Garnet could, only partial transformation. "I can do almost everything that Garnet can do," said Riley as she created blue flames in her hands.
"I have more," said Garnet. "Call: Romulus, Knight of Blood! Call: Sylvia, Priestess of Blood!"
"That's the man that attacked us!" shouted Duke Keith.
"Correction, I only wanted King Arnold and King Caligula dead," said Romulus.
"Me too," said Sylvia. "I have nothing against you as long as our master has nothing against you."
"I told you, I would raise the dead," said Garnet. "Call: Nuria! Call: Mazu! Call: Lilith!" The fire spirit, water spirit, and a human appeared. "Huh?"
"What's wrong?" asked Zedd.
"You look different," said Garnet as she looked at Lilith. She was no longer a horse. In fact, she looked a little like Garnet in her Temptress of the Night form.
"I'm finally myself again!" Lilith squealed. "Thank you!" she said as she hugged Garnet.
"That's the monster that attacked King Arnold at the execution ground!" shouted Duke Innes.
Lilith immediately turned to look at Garnet who never revealed that she was actually the one who did it. "Yep, that's me," said Lilith. Garnet was relieved that Lilith took credit for it. "I wanted to have some fun with some young men, but none of them really interested me," said Lilith as she licked her fingers. "So, I chose her, who interested me," said Lilith as she pointed at Garnet. She was trying to seduce them and she implied a lot of things.
"Not here!" said Garnet. "I don't know what you perverts are thinking either!"
"Alright, I'll stop," said Lilith.
"Last ones," said Garnet. "Call: Skeleton Knight! Call: Skeletons! Call: Skeletal Hounds!" Numerous skeletons appeared. A total of nine. "Riley, you're in charge of them!"
"Me?!?" said Riley who was surprised by this.
"You should have some knowledge of how to lead a group, figure it out," said Garnet.
With this, they had an extra group of strong soldiers, but Garnet was unsure whether it would actually help them or make all the other soldiers in their army even more worried. But, the additional fifteen were much stronger than the rest of their soldiers. Unsure of how powerful the Invasion would be, they would settle for anything. Even though Garnet had never witnessed one before, it was clear that the ones who did were very nervous and wanted as much to be in their favor as possible.
"So, what do you think?" Garnet asked.
Everyone was standing their with their mouths agape. "Teach me!" shouted Kiko. "Tell me how you learned those summoning spells." Kiko was more interested in acquiring power than what Garnet was doing.
"They're mostly contracted," said Garnet. "You'll have to find one on your own if you want to do it." She was lying, she still did not flat out reveal that she was a Dark Mage. There were others who used similar magic, so as long as Garnet could come up with a believable excuse, it was alright. Zedd had warned her about Dark Mages, but it was clear that there were other mages with similar abilities at this point.
None of the nobles were questioning what Garnet was doing. She was unsure whether it was because either they were desperate or they just did not care.
"I'm glad you're on our side," said Duke Innes. "Please support us as we fight."
"You're going to fight?" Garnet asked Duke Innes.
"The Dukes traditionally lead the front line and represent the will of the King on the battlefield," said Duke Innes. "I promise, we will not fail you," he said as he kneeled before King Charles and Queen Garnet.
The other Dukes all followed Duke Innes. Garnet was still uncomfortable with this. Nobles kneeling before someone who was still a slave. "There's one more thing I still have to show you," said Garnet.
Garnet removed her glove and revealed the slave crest to the Dukes. "I want to make sure you know everything and know what you're fighting for," said Garnet.
The Dukes all looked at Kiko to see how she responded. Kiko looked at the crest on Garnet's hand and grabbed it. "I wish you were still mine," said Kiko. "But I'm glad you're fighting alongside us."
Duchess Kiko had accepted Garnet. "In the face of something like this, it matters not who you are," said Duke Joey. The other Dukes accepted her as well.
"Thank you," said Garnet.
"I still do not think you should show that to others in public though," said Duke Keith. "There are some that do not accept the changes Charles has made."
"I know," said Garnet. "That's why I'm only showing it to you guys."
"Thank you for trusting us your highness," said Kiko.
They all faced the red moon in the sky. The Invasion had finally arrived.
