The current time is 12:05 am. Makoto, Shu, Yukari, and Ken are discussing their next investigation plan, in the living room of the Takeru family's main house. Makoto’s expression turned serious

"Whatever it is, this is the only clue that exists to find Fujiyama, so we will investigate there"

Hearing this, the others appeared to agree. Ken’s expression turned curious

"When will we go there?"

Yukari appeared to realize something

"In my opinion, the faster the better"

Makoto nodded

"Right, what if we go tomorrow?"

Appears that no one objected Makoto’s suggestion and agreed with him. Shu replied

"The trip to go there will take about three hours, we should prepare ourselves for tomorrow. So, we will excuse ourselves"

Shu looked like he was about to ask for leave. Makoto smiled

“What if you guys stay here? You guys don't have to bother going back to your place and can get what is needed here”

Hearing this, Yukari and Shu did feel that it was a good idea, but there was still a little doubt in their expressions. Shu replied

“My decision for that will depend on Yukari"

Shu then looked at Yukari. Hearing Shu, Yukari looked surprised, she paused for a moment to think

"I don't mind staying here tonight. After all, tomorrow morning we all will go there together anyway right?"

Shu smiled, then nodded. Shu looked back at Makoto

“Alright then, we accept your offer"

Makoto and Ken smiled. Shortly, Shu appeared to be remembered something

"Regarding what happened earlier, what do you guys think about the Yokais that attacked us?"

Hearing this, making their expressions turned curious. Yukari replied

"I don't know what their goal is, but they seem to be related to the disappearance of my father"

Shu nodded, his expression turned serious

"I agree, unfortunately, they are too strong even for us to be able to defeat either one of them and gain some information”

Makoto nodded

"Right, and another thing that bothers me, is these two Yokais might not have their controllers, which means if their actions come from their own will”

Shu appears to realize something

"Now you mention it, indeed it's odd. Organized actions from some Yokais are rare because Yokai are solitary living being”

Yukari and Ken looked surprised. Yukari replied

"What does uncle mean by solitary living being?"

Ken appeared to want to ask that too. Shu replied

"Yokai tend to conflict between one another, usually over territory"

Ken and Yukari looked even more surprised. Ken appeared to be remembered something

“Speaking of Yokai oddity, I have heard that even the Yokais themselves don't remember how they appeared to this world, and also don't remember where they come from"

"It's impossible if they just appeared out of nowhere right?"

"From the Journal of Monk Ren that can be found, he estimates that the Yokais experience the amnesia phase after the beginning of their appearance"

"Sounds like amnesia on children?"

Ken looked curious

"Maybe something like that, I sometimes think if they can forget, maybe they can remember again?”

Shu replied

“No, I feel that way too, it's just that in his latest investigation journal, Monk Ren writes that it's not a coincidence that all Yokais forget their origins, and there is some sort of trigger that can bring the Yokai's memories back. Shortly after, Monk Ren disappeared”

Ken and Yukari looked surprised. Ken said

“Speaking of Monk Ren, I've read from the old records written by the Kanagawa family's ancestor that they might have a clue about Monk Ren's disappearance”

“My ancestor write that for the first time in his life, he saw Monk Ren looking frightened of something, somehow. At that time, he was the only one accompanying Monk Ren, so not many knew about it. Not long after that of course as you guys already know, Monk Ren disappeared”

Makoto’s expression turned serious

“I think I can understand that, Monk Ren was the strongest Yokai controller in history, I don't even need to explain why because any Yokai Controller must already know why. If there was anything to frighten him... it might be something equal to catastrophic”

The four of them fell silent. Yukari then looked awkward

“Whatever it was, it was over a thousand years ago, Monk Ren must have gotten over it”

Makoto, Shu, and Yukari's expressions turned serious. Makoto replied

“I've heard stories about gods-type Yokai who are said to be very strong and dangerous because they can control the elements and lead other Yokais. It is still shrouded in mystery how a Yokai can reach the gods' type, even in my whole life, this is the first time I've seen it”

Shu's expression turned curious

“I can hardly believe that crow Yokai would dare to act so openly, even if he is a gods type. Will the media cover it?”

Makoto appeared to realize something

"Right, there must be a surveillance camera that managed to record it. Now that you mention it, Yokais rarely show their Yokai form to humans openly, that's why their existence is in the gray zone. But what just happened might make the existence of Yokai exposed. Tomorrow it might become a breaking news... whatever it is, there's nothing we can do about it"

Ken is now walking down the corridor with Shu and Yukari on the second floor of the Takeru family’s main house, to take them to their respective rooms. Yukari and Shu carry their Yokai weapons, and Yukari also brought a stuffed doll Shinra. They arrived in front of the wooden door entrance of one of the rooms. Ken opened the entrance door and invited Shu to come in

"This is Uncle Shu's room, please come in"

Shu walked into the room while looking around. This room is a wide bedroom with a shiny brown carved wooden frame bed, a single sofa, nightstand, floor lamps, a work desk, armchairs, and various other classic-style furniture. This room has a beautifully carved ceiling and a row of tall brown classic carved double window door with curtains that leads to a balcony outside with a view of the backyard of the main house. Shu turned to Ken then smiling

"Thanks, Ken, you can leave me if you want"

Ken smiled back, he and Yukari then walked out of the room. Shu then closed the entrance door of his room.

Ken is now walking with Yukari toward a bedroom next to Shu's room. They arrived in front of the shiny brown wooden double door, Ken then opened this door and invited Yukari to come in

"This is Yukari San's room, please come in"

Yukari walked into her bedroom that similar to Shu's bedroom, only the furniture are in a different design

"Thank you, sorry to trouble you, Ken"

Ken smiled

"I'm actually happy, if Yukari san needs something, just use the phone in this room to call the Butler"

Yukari nodded and smiled

"Okay, I understand"

Ken smiled

“Alright, I will excuse myself”

Ken walked away from here, Yukari then closed the entrance door to her room. Yukari walked around her room while looking around, and looked impressed. Yukari leaned her Yokai weapon on the wall next to her bed, then put a stuffed doll Shinra on her bed.

The time now shows 12:35 AM. Yukari walked over to the tall double window door here, to the wide balcony outside. Appeared that this balcony was wide and connected several rooms that can also access it, and had a railing made from beautifully carved concrete. Yukari propped herself up toward the balcony concrete railing and looked up at the star-studded clear sky. The view of the night sky was so beautiful, a gentle smile began to decorate Yukari's face. Yukari sees her surroundings, the view in front of her is the backyard of the main house with classic Japanese houses area, and a hill area behind it where on one of the highest hills there is the Takeru family shrine on its hillside. Yukari's attention was immediately fixed on the Takeru family shrine in the distance beautifully decorated with the lights from classic Japanese stone lanterns. Yukari's expression turned curious

“This housing area is so wide”

Yukari then walked away from here.
