The current time is 9:15 am. Ken, Makoto, and Asanuma are doing an investigation at the Kanagawa family's house. Asanuma looked around him and appeared to have realized something

Makoto and Ken looked surprised. Makoto's expression turned serious

Asanuma replied

Makoto’s expression turned serious
“Sorry for not explaining it to you, but if that Yokai trail suddenly disappears, it could be because he turned back into a medium, or in a Yokai that hasn't been sealed, turning back into their human form”
Ken appears to realize something
“So that explains why there were traces of another human that suddenly appeared”
Makoto nodded. Ken continues talking
"So, what if there is unsealed Yokai interference?"
Asanuma and Makoto's attention was drawn to Ken. Makoto replied
“I may have explained it to you before, but I haven't told you that unsealed Yokai is rare, and the possibility that if it wasn't coincidental to be here, makes it even more strange…”
Ken’s expression turned curious
“Grandpa means, this attack was probably premeditated and not just a random attack?”
Makoto’s expression turned serious, and he then nodded. On the other hand, Asanuma appeared to have realized something
“There are traces of other humans here as well”
Makoto appeared to realize something
“It was probably from the police officers investigating this place”
Asanuma's expression turned doubtful. Ken gave a nod, he then appeared to realize something
“What should we do now? we're back at a dead end”
Makoto paused in thought, crossing his arms and propping his chin with his right hand
“What is certain is that we know that there is indeed Yokai involvement in this case”
Makoto looked around carefully
“Looks like we can't find any other clues here. For now, we can only try to look elsewhere for clues. Tomorrow I will look for information at his workplace, and I will assign you to supervise Fujiyama's daughter's school, Yukari"
Ken gave a nod
"Okay, I understand"
Makoto, Asanuma, and Ken, then walked away from here.
The next day, the time is now 7:00 am. Appears that in front of the Takeru family's main house, there are now two sedans, which are different from each other. Makoto and Ken were ready to leave, standing not far from the two cars. Makoto was wearing a black knee-length overcoat, shirt, waistcoat, trousers, and loafers. While Ken was wearing a bomber jacket that was unzipped in the middle, black pants, a thick gray t-shirt, and sneakers. Makoto said

"There is a new case today Ken, so we will cancel today's activities, and go there first"
Ken looked surprised
"What is this about Grandpa?"
Makoto replied
“There was an assault case, on an antique shop, which is located in the shopping district area. Strangely, no casualties were found. But again, there are missing people”
Ken looked curious
"This case might have something to do with the attack on the Kanagawa family house"
Makoto gave a nod, he then handed a document to Ken, and Ken accepted it
"Sorry because this is so sudden, so we don't have time for a briefing, and only that document"
Ken's gaze fell on the document he received. Makoto said
“As before, we will check whether this attack has Yokai involved or not. Now we go together to the crime scene, you can read the document on the way”
Ken gave a nod. Makoto entered the sedan in the driver's seat, while Ken sat next to him. Their car then sped away from here.
Their car continued to drive through the city streets, the view on their right and left were tall buildings that alternated. Ken appears to be reading a document regarding this case, which he got from Makoto
“So, the owner of the antique shop is a middle-aged man, not yet married, has no criminal record in the police database, and nothing appears suspicious. Why is a man's place like this attacked?”
Makoto’s expression turned doubtful
“Yes, but that identity might be fake. Some neighbors of the shophouse that became the crime scene, heard a lot of noise the night before”
Ken gave a nod
“It says there are many gunshot marks found there, if they intended to kill someone there, they might have already got him”
Makoto nodded
"That’s possible, we will look for clues there"
Ken's expression turned curious, and he then gave a nod.
Sometime later, their car arrived at the shopping district in question, where this district was where the shop they were going to was located. They arrived at the antique shop in question, which was none other than Shu Kuwamori's shophouse building, where Yukari was staying before. Appears that there have been three police cars that have preceded here. They parked their car on the side of the road, close to the police cars. Ken and Makoto then got out of their car, their arrival immediately attracted the attention of the police officers who were standing on guard in front of the shophouse building. The entrance looks destroyed and given a police line. The police officers then rushed to them. Before the policeman asked, Makoto immediately took out his assignment letter and showed it to the policeman
"I am Makoto, a government investigator, and this is my partner. We were assigned to participate in the investigation of this case"
Makoto said while referring to Ken. Ken, who appears to be getting used to it, can give a smile without being nervous. This policeman took the letter that Makoto gave him and read it. The policeman's expression looked doubtful for a moment, he then returned the letter to Makoto
"Okay, please come in. If there's anything you want to ask, just say it"
Makoto and Ken gave smiles and bows of thanks. Makoto said
“Thank you, please help”
Makoto and Ken then walked into the shop.
Inside the antique shop, the condition appeared to be a mess with the things falling apart and breaking. On the wall, there were countless bullet marks from assault rifles. Ken is surprised to see the circumstances around him, whereupon Makoto's expression turned serious. They proceeded to the room of the house connected to the shop, and things were also chaotic. Ken said
"What happened here? how are we going to determine if the one attacked is still alive or not?”
Makoto gave a nod
“Whatever the reason, an attack like this is no joke”
Ken appeared to agree with this opinion. The two of them continued to check the other rooms up to the second floor, where one of the rooms, namely Fujiyama's room where Yukari was staying, looked messy. Makoto said
“There is not the slightest clue, even for information on the actual party that inhabits this place, looks like it was intentionally omitted. It’s clear that the information from the police station is incorrect regarding the occupants of this house”
Ken's expression turned astonished
"Then why does the police seem oblivious to this?"
Makoto replied
“It won't if this fake identity is made up by the owner of this house himself”
Ken looked surprised to hear this. Before long, Makoto appeared to have realized something, his expression then turned serious
“Someone with that ability, and getting attacked like this, must be involved in something dangerous”
Ken looked curious
“Does all of this remind Grandpa of anything?”
Makoto appeared to have realized something
“Yes, a Yokai investigator, but might as well not be someone I know”
Appears that something is bothering Makoto's mind. Ken asked
"Then, are there any traces of Yokai here Grandpa?"
Makoto looked doubtful
"Well, that's something I don't know either"
Makoto looked around carefully, to confirm the situation. After making sure that things were safe, Makoto then said
"Okay, now we ask Asanuma to check it"
Ken's expression turned serious, and he then gave a nod.
Ken took out the glove puppet Asanuma, which he carried under his bomber jacket. Ken then concentrated
"Come, Asanuma"
Pillars of black smoke started to come out of the glove puppet Asanuma and eventually enveloped him. This smoke then rolled down from Ken's hands, onto the floor. From behind the smoke, Asanuma appeared, only the size of an average wolf. Asanuma looked around him in surprise, he then looked at Makoto and Ken
"Let me guess, you guys are conducting an investigation"
Ken smiled
"That's right Asanuma, be a sniffer dog again please"
Asanuma sighed. Makoto replied
"We want to know, is there Yokai interference in this attack Asanuma, please help"
Asanuma replied
“Okay, leave it to me"
Hearing this, Makoto smiled.
