Suga looked curious.
“Can Unjyo san tell me more about Hideyuki Totei san?”
Mrs. Unjyo nodded.
“He was an investigator who often came to my father who was the Kagohara village’s chief, claiming that he had succeeded in photographing Gasokami as proof of its existence, and a possibility that Gasokami is the cause of missing persons and natural disasters that often befall Kagohara village. If Hisoka san want to know more about what happened, maybe you could start by looking for information about Hideyuki.”
Suga was surprised; he already knew that Hideyuki had been investigating the missing person cases in Kagohara village decades ago but then gone missing, too. Suga nodded and appeared to realize something.
“Does Unjyo san know where Hideyuki Totei san is?”
Mrs. Unjyo shook her head slowly.
“Unfortunately, I don’t know.”
Suga’s expression turned slightly surprised as he thought.
“It seems Unjyo san didn’t know that Hideyuki was also became one of the missing victims, perhaps because the Association kept it a secret. I better not discuss Association matters with outsiders…”
Suga replied.
“Alright Unjyo san, this information is very valuable. Can I see Gasokami photo?”
Mrs. Unjyo nodded, her expression then turned serious.
“That’s the main thing I want to show you.”
Mrs. Unjyo stood up from her seat and then went to a metal digital safe displayed on a display shelf in this room. After entering the password, this safe door opens. Inside the safe, there were piles of envelopes and documents. Mrs. Unjyo took a brown envelope and closed the safe door again. Mrs. Unjyo sat back on the sofa and handed this envelope to Suga.
“This envelope contains the photo I was talking about, but there’s a problem.”
Mrs. Unjyo looked bothered to the point that she was a bit lost in thought. Suga received an envelope from Mrs. Unjyo and looked at her in astonishment.
“Is there anything else Unjyo san want to say?”
Mrs. Unjyo came to her senses.
“Yes, I still remember how my father looked frightened when he wanted to open this envelope, and ended up not opening it. Until finally I found this envelope in the things my father left behind after he passed away. But maybe that’s why this photo was damaged.”
Suga was a little surprised, then opened the envelope and took out a photo from inside. However, this photo only shows a blurry image of lush forest trees’s silhouette, and most of the photo surface is blackened. Finding the photo’s condition that had been damaged made Suga surprised.
“It’s okay Unjyo san, I’ll try to recover this photo later.”
Mrs. Unjyo nodded. Suga put this photo back in the envelope. Suga’s expression turned curious.
“Regarding Kagohara town’s history, is it related to Kagohara village?”
Mrs. Unjyo’s expression turned confused.
“I only know the outline of it. Previously, this town was not called Kagohara. However, when most of the Kagohara villagers moved to this town, the various cultures that are the attractions of this town developed rapidly. Townspeople and the town’s government agreed to change the town’s name to Kagohara to commemorate the village. That’s all I know, maybe you can look for it in the town’s library.”
The narrative has been taken without permission. Report any sightings.
Suga smiled and nodded.
“Okay, I think that’s all I need Unjyo san, thank you.”
Mrs. Unjyo smiled.
“Of course, Hisoka san. No need to reluctant.”
Suga excused himself to Mrs. Unjyo and bowed politely to her, who then did the same.
“I’ll excuse myself, Unjyo san.”
Suga stood up from his seat and walked away. Mrs. Unjyo appeared to remember something; she stood up from her seat and immediately stopped Suga.
“Wait, Suga san.”
Suga was a little surprised and stopped in his tracks and turned back to face Mrs. Unyo with a curious expression. Mrs. Unjyo resumed talking.
“If I remember again, there’s something about Hisoka san that reminds me of Hideyuki. At that time, I still didn’t remember much, but now I know what it was. When Hisoka san cosplayed while wearing an overcoat and carrying a katana yesterday, your appearance was similar to Hideyuki at that time.”
Suga was a little surprised as he thought.
“I shouldn’t carelessly share information regarding association....”
Suga smiled.
“That’s possible, right, Unjyo san?”
Mrs. Unjyo smiled.
“I just feel like the person who came to Kagohara village and tried to save the villagers has come back again. This time, I’m sure the villagers will definitely help you.”
Suga smiled and nodded.
“Of course, Unjyo san and the others have helped me a lot. Thank you very much.”
Mrs. Unjyo smiled and nodded. Suga resumed talking.
“I’ll excuse myself, Unjyo san.”
Suga bowed politely to Mrs. Unjyo, who then did the same. Suga walked out of the room; Nellson then flew after him.
The time shows 1:45 pm. Suga walked out of the inn’s entrance while carrying an envelope containing a photo in his hand. Suga walked to his bicycle, parked in the bicycle parking slots next to the inn's building, and then got on it. Without being asked, Nellson flew and landed in the basket in front of the bicycle handlebars as usual. Suga put the envelope into the bicycle basket along with Nellson, making Nellson look slightly surprised. Suga then pedaled his bicycle away from here.
Suga arrived in the middle of the town, with the atmosphere as quiet as usual. Nellson, standing in the basket, turned around and looked at Suga curiously.
“Where are we going Suga?”
Suga’s expression looked deadpan. Occasionally, Suga looked at Nellson while riding his bicycle and focused on the road before him.
“We are going to the town library at the town hall. But first, there is a place we'll visit.”
Nellson looked at Suga curiously.
Not long after, they arrived at a two-story shophouse, where the first level was used as a photographic studio, camera equipment, and camera accessories shop. This shophouse has an entrance with transparent framed glass pane on half of it and a wide rectangular framed glass pane on the walls to the right and left of the entrance. Suga parked his bicycle in front of the shop and then got off the bicycle.
Suga entered the camera shop, carrying an envelope containing the photo he got from Mrs. Unjyo, Nellson then flew after him. Inside the shop, glass shelves display various camera equipments and accessories, a glass counter displaying various camera equipment, and a cashier. A single-door entrance leads to the photographic studio at the end of the room. Suga walked through the shop inside while looking around him with an amazed expression, Nellson landed on the floor while watching Suga curiously. A male shopkeeper immediately noticed Suga’s arrival.
“Welcome, how may I help you?”
Suga smiled, then walked over to the shopkeeper. Nellson flew after Suga, then landed and stood on the floor next to Suga, Nellson looking up at the two of them curiously. The shopkeeper was surprised to see Nellson’s presence, Suga immediately explained.
“He’s my pet who loves to do cosplay like he does now, hahaha.”
Suga forced a laugh with an awkward expression. The shopkeeper’s attention turned back to Suga, then smiled.
“What a unique and cute pet.”
Suga smiled.
“I’ve heard that a lot.”
Suga handed over the brown envelope in his hand, and the shopkeeper accepted it with a curious expression.
“I want you to restore this damaged photo.”
The shopkeeper opened the envelope and examined this photo for a moment.
“Okay, leave it to me. You can leave your contact number; I’ll let you know as soon as it’s finished.”
Suga nodded, then gave the shopkeeper his contact detail. Suga walked out of the camera shop and got on his bicycle, Nellson flew after Suga and landed in the bicycle basket. Suga said.
“Now we’re going to the town library.”
Nellson turned to Suga and nodded. Suga then pedaled his bicycle away from here.
After riding a bicycle for some time, Suga arrived at the two stories Kagohara Town Hall building, which extends to the right and left in a classic European style; it has a library and town’s archives, and a beautifully carved fountain before the Town hall building, as well as a park area near the building. Suga parked his bicycle in the bicycle parking slots in front of the town hall building. Suga walked in a short staircase leading up to the town hall with a higher surface, then walked into the building through the wooden carved double doors entrance; Nellson then flew after Suga.
The first room in the town hall is the guest hall with a ceiling as high as two building levels. It has a front desk, a door to the meeting room, and corridors that lead to the right and left part of the building. At the end of the guest hall, there are stairs that lead up and then turn to the right and left, leading to the second floor. Near the entrance, a table with a wide glass box on top contains a miniature of Kagohara town. The atmosphere of the town hall is quiet, with only a few visitors. Suga walked through the guest hall, and Nellson flew after him while landed on the floor occasionally.
