In the next few days after forming their alliance, Caedes and Eos began secretly cooperating on a number of activities and projects while they went around contacting the people that were close to them, mainly guild leaders who weren’t contesting with them on Vanargand and some rivals who were, but were on friendly terms with them, for a meeting.
They needed more allies to join their cause to take down the troublemakers of the PK Alliance who were sowing chaos and indiscriminately wreaking havoc everywhere on the continent.
To keep things absolutely a secret, Caedes and Eos gathered everyone in one of the Lycan territories that was close to the Nine Hells Guild’s land under the guise of attacking said territory for themselves before sending their most trusted subordinates to escort the gathered leaders to the actual meeting place that was in the Nine Hell Guild’s territory.
Even Caedes didn’t know about the exact coordinates of the meeting place and had to be escorted by one of Eos’s people to the location, but he didn’t have to worry about Eos backstabbing him because of the system contract, so he was able to put his guard down a little, though not entirely because in the end, they were only allies and friends due to mutual benefits and not actual true friends or anything.
When he arrived at the meeting location, which was set in the middle of a glade that wasn’t even in Eos’s land, Caedes quickly approached his ally and asked, “What’s with all the secrecy?”
“Hehe, don’t worry about it. This meeting has to be kept secret because we’ll be having a surprise guest with us today,” Eos said as he motioned with his eyes towards a particular person waiting alone in a corner.
This individual wasn’t too conspicuous since they were dressed the same as everyone else, but when Caedes looked in their direction, the person just so happened to raise their head to look back at him and when their eyes met, he was shocked to see her.
“...Why didn’t you tell me anything about this?”
“She needed to know if we could trust you or not. Don’t worry though, the system contract is actually between three parties, and you’re the third, so you don’t need to worry about her attacking you…”
“Does this mean all of this was a setup and she’s going to attack everyone else here?”
“No, of course not. She doesn’t need to do any of this just to attack someone, but don’t you think she’ll be a great ally to us?”
“...Then who was it that approached first, you or her?” Caedes asked with a serious look on his face.
“Believe it or not, it was actually her,” Eos replied. “She wanted our help and after hearing her out, I agreed to her proposal.”
“If it was a three-way contract, then why wasn’t she present at that time?!”
“Like I said, she needed to know if you were trustworthy or not,” Eos repeated, before continuing with a light-hearted smirk on his face, “...And we needed your connections too.”
“...”
“Our friend over there had her worries, but after observing for a little bit, she decided that it was fine to reveal herself to you and everyone else here...”
“...I can’t believe that I signed a contract with you and that lunatic over there. You said we were going to eradicate them, but it turns out we’re allied with them? Just what is our actual plan, Eos?”
The lunatic that Caedes was talking about was Hecate, the leader of the PK Alliance. The same person who caused all of the chaos in the previous Main Scenario Quest and fought against Maria.
Their group had gathered today to talk about destroying the PK Alliance, but it didn’t make any sense for the leader of said alliance to be present in the discussion regarding her own faction’s destruction.
“What was the point of everything we discussed last time? Since she’s here, this means that you lied to me,” Caedes whispered in anger.
Eos shook his head and replied, “She’ll reveal her intentions later in the meeting and I’ll reveal my true goal to everyone later as well. About what we discussed before, believe it or not, none of it was a lie. We really are going to destroy the PK Alliance and for a good reason as well.”
“...Tsk, I don’t get it, but whatever, I’ll listen to what you have to say. If I like it, then I’ll stay, but if I don’t, I’ll leave,” Caedes declared. “As for our previous contract, I’ll be annulling it.”
“I don’t mind, but if you back out after hearing what we have to say, you’ll have to sign another contract with me to keep whatever you hear or saw tonight a secret. I can’t have anyone out there who isn’t part of our plan to know of our secret~”
“Whatever…”

After counting the heads of everyone present and confirming that the people he and Caedes had called over were all here, Eos gathered everyone’s attention to him and started the meeting.
“Good evening, everyone. I’m glad that you could all make it,” He began. “I’m sorry that we couldn’t hold the meeting at a proper venue but we needed to keep this meeting a secret and away from any enemy eyes.”
“Enough with the pleasantries, Eos. I didn’t come here because of you, but because Caedes asked for me,” One of the people said. “Just say what you want to say and get it over with. I heard you wanted to completely destroy the PK Alliance, which is why I came. Those annoying bastards have been messing around for too long, so it’s high time we did something about them…”
“We’ll get to that discussion in a bit, but first, let me introduce to everyone the partner who’ll be helping us with that endeavor.”
That was her cue, so Hecate stepped forward and pulled down the hood of the cloak she was wearing and revealed her face to everyone. Previously, the PK Alliance Leader’s face was completely unknown, but ever since the footage of her battle with Maria had been aired live on television, everyone in the game now knew what the PK Alliance Leader looked like.
When Hecate revealed her face, everyone present was greatly disturbed except for Caedes, who already knew about it.
“Y-You!”
“You’re Hecate, the PK Alliance’s Leader! Eos, explain! What is she doing here?”
“Is this a setup? Is the PK Alliance here to ambush us?!”
“Dammit, we’ve been had!”
Eos raised his hand in an attempt to calm everyone down, “Please, everyone. Relax. She’s not here as our enemy!”
“Not our enemy? We’re here to talk about destroying her faction and yet you say she’s not our enemy? What kind of nonsense is this?!”
Hecate was growing pissed at all the noise so she stomped her feet in annoyance, destroying the ground underneath her before saying, “Shut up, assholes. I don’t need to use this kind of gimmick if I wanted to kill all of you. I would’ve just attacked you all directly!”
“...”
“This foul-mouthed–”
“Like I said, she’s not our enemy. In fact, she was the one who approached me with the plan to destroy her own alliance!” Eos declared.
“...What?”
“Why?”
“...”
Caedes was surprised when he heard Eos’s words. He turned to look at Hecate, who was giving everyone a distasteful look and didn’t even deny it.
“T-This lunatic…she wants to destroy her own faction? Why?”
Hearing someone ask that question, Hecate turned towards them and replied with a crazed grin on her face, “It’s because everything’s gotten boring.”
“...Boring? What do you mean?”
Before anyone could say anything else, Hecate quickly started explaining, “I didn’t create this dumb alliance of lunatics because I wanted to. I just killed my way through some dumbasses at the early start of the game and continued doing so. After some time, people began gathering around me and they started claiming themselves to be some kind of Alliance with me at its head.”
“Okay…?”
“It was fun being the leader of a bunch of crazy idiots for a while, but lately, I’ve gotten quite bored of it, so now, I want to destroy it and go my own way…”
“...Huh?”
“This crazy…hooligan…”
“You’re going to destroy your own alliance just because you got bored and tired of it?”
“...We can’t follow the reasoning behind a crazy person. Just take her word for it, I guess…”
“Maybe I should kill all you bastards right now, huh?” Hecate said as she glared at everyone.
Feeling the intense bloodthirst just from her gaze, they all quickly shut up, which allowed Hecate to continue saying her piece.
“I’m destroying the alliance not only because I became bored, but because at some point, a bunch of hooligans began declaring that they were part of the PK Alliance and were doing some pretty messed up shit in our name,” Hecate said. “The Alliance was set up so that people with a similar mind as me who just wanted to fight and fight and fight until we die were able to gather together.”
“Uhuh…”
“That’s what my henchman with a brain said.”
“...Okay???”
Hecate nodded to herself as if she was agreeing with something before she continued, “The fools who I was talking about earlier began doing some stupid shit like imprisoning players or abusing the game’s contract feature and turning unfortunate idiots who fell for their scams into gold farmers and even slaves.”
“Wait, what?”
When Hecate said this, the guild leaders and faction leaders who had gathered all began to raise their voices as they had heard about stuff like that happening in the game, though they were only just rumors.
The rumors said that the PK Alliance had a major hand in all that notorious stuff. No one believed that it was actually true until Hecate came out and said it.
“Hey, we heard some stuff like that before, right?”
“Yeah…in fact, I thought Caedes and Eos gathered all of us here today to destroy the PK Alliance who were rumored to be doing that…”
Hecate scoffed before saying, “I don’t know who those fuckers are, but because of them, being the Leader of the PK Alliance has started to become a headache. Also, my interest lies elsewhere now, so I don’t care if the alliance is destroyed or not, but I’m not just gonna leave my boys and girls to suffer the same fate as the other fools in this dumb alliance.”
Her words were contradicting, so one of the leaders present quickly raised his voice and asked, “So what do you want? You said that you don’t care what happens to the alliance, but now you’re saying that you do?”
Everyone present was confused by Hecate. They really couldn’t understand the reasoning of a crazy person. In the same sentence, she just said that she did and didn’t care about what happened to the PK Alliance, which made everyone extremely confused about what she actually wanted.
“Alliance Leader, let me take it from here? I’ll explain it to them so that they can understand,” Eos said with a smile.
“Sure do what you want. These idiots are so stupid that they can’t even understand what I’m saying. How do I even converse with crazy idiots like them?” Hecate said before she put her hood back on and stepped back.
‘Uhhh, no, I’m pretty sure you’re the crazy one here…’
‘We’re the normal ones… you’re the one who’s crazy!’
Everyone present, including Caedes, was thinking somewhere along those lines, but they didn’t dare to voice it out because they were worried that Hecate might act out and start attacking them without warning.
No one present thought that they could take Hecate on their own or together, because they all saw the battle she had with Maria, who was reportedly Unitale’s strongest known Unranker.
The battle ended with Hecate’s victory since she was the one who walked out of it alive while her rival had been logged out of the game, so knowing this, the leaders present didn’t want to continue messing with her in fear of being attacked and killed by her.
