Lizzy was sent back to reality from the dreamscape and she could see that the remnant soul of the Tempest Dragon King, Viorva, was beginning to fade.
“I have shown you all that needs to be seen. Now let me impart to you my gift.”
“Mhm.”
She was still a bit afraid of the ghost in front of her but she didn’t run away like earlier. Instead, she rooted herself to the ground and let the ghost place its palm on her head once again. Lizzy felt something cool rush into her and a notification bell rang in her ears.
*DING*
You have received the Tempest Dragon King’s Blessing! All stats have increased by 5% and Wind Elemental Affinity has risen by 50%! Mastery of all Dragon-related skills has also been enhanced!
*DING*
Remnant of the Tempest Dragon King Viorva has been absorbed! You have acquired 50 Dragon Force!
“Oh, nice!” Lizzy exclaimed when she saw the notification. An additional 50 Dragon Force meant that she now had 62 in total. In addition to that, her stats increased by quite a bit. The stat increase equated to about 5 levels or so which was a tremendous gain for her. Now she understood a little why her best friend had such ridiculous stats. Even though she repeatedly emphasized to her friend, Maria would always spill out the gains she acquired during her gameplay to her at school.
Due to this, Lizzy was able to understand why Maria was so much stronger than her level suggested. She had acquired a lot of items, titles, and power-ups along with her Awakening which boosted her stats by so many levels. If she was able to obtain all of the Elemental Dragon Kings’ blessings during this journey, she’d be able to raise her stats by a few levels, acquire all of the dragon-related skills, and complete her Awakening Quest all at the same time!
Just thinking about all this put a smile on Lizzy’s face and she couldn’t help but chuckle, “Hehehe, just you wait Eos, next year’s IGC...I’ll definitely put you in your place!”
After taking a brief look at her Status Screen, Lizzy immediately looked up and thanked Viorva’s remnant soul, “Thank yo―Oh? He’s gone…”
The remnant soul had disappeared the moment Lizzy received its blessing and absorbed its Dragon Force so it was a little too late to say thanks. Lizzy smiled and looked back after seeing that the wind barrier surrounding the place she was in was no longer there anymore. With her Wind Elemental Affinity enhanced, she no longer had to worry about the Black Winds of the 2000-meter zone dealing too much damage to her. Lizzy flew out of the canyon while traversing the previous danger zones that she couldn’t move through before.
The only place she didn’t dare to try and travel was the danger zone above the canyon. The winds there were black and accompanied by thick streams of purple lightning. She did not doubt in her mind that even with her boosted stats, that was a place that she shouldn’t mess around in.
Once she exited the canyon, Lizzy checked her Map window and saw that 6 new indicators were on it that pinpointed the locations of the other Elemental Dragons’ homes, or what was now their resting place.
“Well, I’ve got a lot of ground to cover, so let’s get going.”

The closest place to the Tempest Dragon Valley was the Erda Dragon Pit which was around a day or 2 away on foot but with her flying speed, Lizzy reckoned she could get there by the end of the day or tomorrow morning. After taking a small break and logging out to eat, Lizzy returned to the game and immediately began her journey. She had forgotten to take into account that her Wind Elemental Affinity had risen and although she couldn’t feel it inside of the Tempest Dragon Valley due to the constrained space, her flight speed had risen by quite a large deal.
“Woah! I’m flying even faster than before!”
Now that she was out in the open, Lizzy didn’t need to worry about barriers or any obstacles in her path so she went all out and flew at a speed that was borderline supersonic.
“Mary flies this fast all the time? Man, this is so awesome!”
It wasn’t easy flying at this speed as there were many factors that she had to take into consideration in order to fly in a straight line properly. A sudden shift in the winds or her wings would completely throw her off balance.
A few times she fell out of the sky and nearly died from the fall damage. Lizzy spent a bit of time getting used to it before finally, she smoothly proceeded with her journey. Even after taking the time to adjust to her new flying speed, Lizzy was able to arrive at the Erda Dragon Pit by the end of the day. If she didn’t need to adjust, Lizzy reckoned she would have arrived at the location even before the sun fell.
“I can get to any place so quickly now. This’ll definitely be useful for the coming struggle in the Void Sea Realm.”
Thinking about the Void Sea could wait for later because right now, Lizzy had to focus on the task at hand and more so since, for some reason, she felt that the Erda Dragon Pit seemed a lot more dangerous than the Tempest Dragon Valley. Unlike the valley, there were no magical phenomena here like the swirling wind storm that was protecting the dragon pit but Lizzy felt that it was dangerous to just fly down.
It was night time so her vision was limited. She couldn’t even see the bottom of the pit and the fear of the unknown as she stared down into the darkness crept up her spine as it ignited her adventurous spirit and a slight bit of rationale so without any hesitation, Lizzy flew and landed on the side of the dragon pit before opting to head down using the paths carved on the walls of the pit. Her Night Vision was relatively okay since she was a Demonic Dragonoid so it was a racial passive, however, even with the Night Vision, Lizzy had a hard time seeing down the dark pit.
As she traversed the dark pathways that led down the pit, Lizzy shivered a little and mumbled, “Oh...it sure is scary going by myself…”
Her night vision only allowed her to see a few meters ahead of her and despite saying that she was a little scared, Lizzy continued walking down the pathway leading deeper into the dragon pit. She could smell a foul odor in the air but she easily resolved that by manipulating the wind and blowing it around her.
“Ugh, what’s that stench?”
Even when she did that, Lizzy could still smell the pungent odor but at least it wasn’t that bad now. After playing the game for so long, she could somewhat recognize the smell of monsters now and this smell, although much more repulsive, was a little familiar.
“For some reason, this smells a little like―”
She immediately began hearing skittering ahead of her so she pulled out her weapons and cautiously walked forward. The path underneath her suddenly changed as the dirt pathway suddenly had a layer of slime and web covering it. When Lizzy looked further down the path, she noticed that many pairs of red glowing eyes were staring back at her.
“Ah...so that’s why it smelled so bad...”
A few pairs of legs suddenly emerged from the darkness and these sharp thin legs with barbs on them were accompanied by small heads that held the numerous pairs of eyes that were staring back at her.
“Spider-type monsters, huh? Well, at least you aren’t ghosts.”

The number of monsters she saw ahead of her were too numerous to count but Lizzy wasn’t afraid. These weak monsters only seemed intimidating because of the darkness and the large numbers they possessed. Lizzy smiled happily when she saw the numerous monsters blocking her path and moving around to try and surround her. With so many of them gathering around her like this, it was the perfect time to test out one of her newly acquired skills.
“You guys are going to be perfect test subjects for my [Dragon Claw] skill.”
