While Lizzy and her team were out exploring the unconquered areas and finding suitable places to build a base, Maria and Sky were out fighting all of the PK teams and guild parties that were sent to suppress their faction. The 2 factions didn’t give them any time to rest but thankfully, Maria and Sky lived in completely opposite time zones so while Maria was logged out of the game, Sky was there to fill in her position and the same worked vice-versa.
Before, Sky would usually play during the night but this time, she had to switch her schedule around a bit and take evening lectures at her university until her quest inside of the Realm of War was over. Lately, many people’s attention was drawn to the game because of the Realm of War where the Second Planet’s Main Story Quest was taking place in.
It was a battlefield of chaos where nearly every minute and every second, you could find parties of opposing faction players constantly fighting against each other. The highlight of the realm was obviously to the 2 opposing factions, the Celestial Order and the Pantheon.
The Goddess Faction which had intruded onto the Realm of War was regulated to a supporting position so not many were focused on them. People did hear that Maria was part of that faction and that she had managed to survive a joint attack by both of the factions’ elite teams which were highlighted in the official Unital E-sport channel that broadcasted the epic battle and everything else related to the Realm of War.
It was no longer a mystery why the Goddess Faction was inside of the Realm of War. They had already failed to stop the war from happening between the two factions so this time, they were there to stop the conflict by acting like an enemy for both sides.
However, instead of ending the conflict, they only added more to the chaos which was contradictory to their purpose. But, it didn’t matter though because the battles that were broadcast from the Goddess Faction’s perspective were the most exciting ones that brought a lot of viewership to the Unitale-exclusive channel which was established just before the IGC. Now, all Unitale related news and broadcasts would be available exclusively on this channel.
Watching Maria, Lizzy, and Sky–the 3 beauties of the Goddess, so the public gave as their moniker–in action was quite exhilarating especially since they were fighting against the dreadful PK groups and the other 2 factions’ players.
The most fighting that happened in the Realm of War was on their factions’ side because they were the public enemy that needed to be rid of as quickly as possible. However, with Maria and Sky holding down the fort with Lizzy moving around conquering neutral land after neutral land, their faction was able to erect a good number of bases which increased their population limit. This allowed the players of the Goddess Faction to act more recklessly in their battles so it was always exciting to watch them since they fought as if their real lives were on the line.
Many of the fights ended with split results but even if they won or lost, the Goddess Faction players would always come out on top in terms of the number of Summons and Summoners defeated. This was made possible thanks to Maria and Sky’s power. They were literally in a league of their own since the two were Awakened Players and there was only a handful of Awakened in the game at the current stage.
The other factions’ Awakened couldn’t freely move like those 2 since they always needed to watch their backs and be careful of their enemies’ ambush while Maria and Sky didn’t care about that at all. If any player, Awakened or not, were to attack them, they’d simply fight back. Preserving strength or whatever didn’t even come to their minds since their mission was to kill the most Summons on the battlefield.

The battle in the Realm of War continued for a few days already but inside the game, weeks had passed. One time when Maria and Lizzy were both out of the game since it was nighttime and they needed to rest, Sky had fallen for an ambush that was orchestrated by the Pantheon’s leaders. The enemy’s spies had reported Maria and Lizzy’s absence so when Sky was going out to find players and Summons to kill, she was ambushed by the Pantheon.
They wanted to kick her out of the realm so that there would be no Awakened players on the Goddess Faction for a time and during that time, they’d try to attack the Goddess Faction’s base and conquer a few of them before Maria or Lizzy returned to the game. The battle that ensued was very epic and it was on the same level as when Maria was fighting against the leaders and elite players of the two factions during the first day the Goddess Faction entered the Realm of War.
That battle was being rebroadcasted on the exclusive Unitale TV channel and Maria was watching it as she ate her ice cream. She had just returned home from school an hour ago and finished up all of her homework so now, she was taking a break before entering the game.
This battle happened two nights ago and it was the first time Sky used her Summon. Her Summon was called Leviathan and just like Maria’s Summon, Leviathan was also an Ancient Primal which came as a surprise to her. There were only a few Ancient Primals and she had met 3 of them already. Bahamut, Odin, and Ultima. Now there was another called Leviathan and this summon was in the form of a humongous sea serpent whose body size was much, much larger than her Bahamut.
When Sky summoned Leviathan, the weather of the area 100 kilometers around her immediately changed as a turbulent storm kicked in. The enormous summoning circle appeared in the sky, obscured by the storm clouds and when Leviathan appeared, his body was hidden in the sky so the players could only partially see him. However, observers of the battle caught sight of the gigantic summon’s body moving and coiling around in the clouds on the outskirts of the 100-kilometer area where the storm was brewing so this meant that Leviathan’s serpentine body was more than 100-kilometers long.
That was incredibly huge and the area where he was summoned was turned into a watery domain that boosted his summoner’s powers. As a Scylla, Sky thrived in an environment that was abundant with water. Her signature summons, the Charybdises, also thrived in the water so once Leviathan was summoned, the ambushers soon became the ambushed. Even when Caedes and Arthur summoned their powerful Gods, they couldn’t do much at all.
Sky killed a few of the Pantheon’s elite players with Leviathan’s help and even managed to severely injure Arthur, nearly sending him out of the realm. They were at a disadvantage so the enemy quickly retreated in defeat. She didn’t pursue them because after summoning Leviathan, she would incur a penalty. Her pact with Leviathan was the same as Maria but unlike Maria, she didn’t need to fulfill a condition to summon Leviathan.
In exchange, however, she would receive a penalty afterward whereas Maria didn’t because she had to fulfill stringent conditions to summon her Bahamut. The broadcasted battle was epic and Maria was extremely excited when she watched it. However, she noticed something different between her Bahamut and Sky’s Leviathan. Unlike Bahamut who took an active role when he appeared, Leviathan was a bit passive.
He did provide the environment advantage upon his appearance but other than attacking with a few high-ranked water and ice-type spells and the devastating Maelstrom skill just before he returned to the Void Sea, Leviathan didn’t do as much as Bahamut did. That being the case, Maria didn’t think that Leviathan was less useful than Bahamut. Just the environmental advantage it provided upon its summon which gave Sky the advantage and greatly hampered her opponents, this was already extremely good.
The flood that appeared thanks to the storm that accompanied Leviathan caused the enemy to have a hard time moving and would sometimes drown them. Dying because of drowning was very humiliating, especially in the game. Maria wanted to see how their Primals would fair if pit against each other but that thought was dangerous so she shelved it immediately.
She didn’t want to turn Sky, who was her friend and ally, into an enemy because of her stupid impulses. She needed to think far ahead into the future. Sky would come to Vanhal one day and if she used her Summon to attack her Dire, Leviathan could flood the Dire’s territories on the Blood Continent which was not good for her who was the Dire’s Queen. Maria needed to stay on Sky’s good side so such a scenario doesn’t happen.
So, with the ambush occurring, Maria and Sky’s Summons were revealed so all that was left was Lizzy who still hadn’t used her Summon even until this day. As the other Awakened player on the Goddess Faction, many people anticipated that her Summon would also be devastatingly powerful just like her two friends.
Maria wasn’t going to lie, but she too wanted to see what Lizzy’s Summon was. However, her friend kept things under wraps and didn’t tell anyone about it. She wanted to surprise everyone later on, just not right now since there was no use in her using it at the moment.
