Chapter 357 - Secret Alliance

When Amanda heard her friend's declaration, she looked at her in shock before asking, “Wait, you were actually serious when you said that you're trying to conquer the entire planet?!”

Maria nodded at her words and said, “That’s exactly what I mean. I already planned on conquering this planet long before I even knew that it was one of the Main Scenario Planets!”

“That’s…that’s so ambitious! Not to mention completely insane! Are you out of your mind, Mary?!”

“Nope. Not at all. I will conquer this planet one way or another. That’s a promise I’ll definitely keep, just you watch, Ama.”

Amanda began rubbing the bridge of her nose before saying, “I won’t dissuade you or anything, Mary, but don’t you think that ambition of yours is close to impossible now that the players are here? If you actually wanted to try conquering the planet, realistically speaking, don't you think you should've tried that before the players even arrived here?!”

“I know, but that won’t stop me. I won’t let anything stop me.”

“...Please think realistically! If this was before any players had arrived, then you would’ve definitely been able to conquer the planet for sure. I mean, you already took an entire continent for yourself, so you’ve already done half the job,” Amanda said. She paused for a moment before continuing, “Now that we’re here, I just can’t imagine it, Mary! There’s going to be so many people opposing your ambition. They’ll definitely try to stop you!”

“Then I’ll just have to stomp them out!” Maria declared. “Like I said, I won’t let anything stop me.”

“Ugh, it’s pointless if I say anything to you now. Once you’ve set your mind to doing something, you’ll chase after it until you succeed…” Amanda replied with a resigned look on her face. “Anyway, about what you said earlier, is this your way of inviting Lizzy and the rest of us to join your war?”

Maria nodded at her question and said, “Yup. I need to recruit more allies who can help me expand my forces.”

“As I thought…”

“With the Main Scenario Quest still obscured, the timing is practically perfect to start raising an army, don’t you think so?”

Amanda couldn’t refute Maria’s words because what she said did make sense. As a frontline guild, the Fallen Angels should be busy trying to find the Main Scenario Quest’s next stage, but with no clues so far, there wasn’t much searching happening. Everyone was just doing their own thing, like exploring the new world, running dungeons, leveling up, and gathering materials on the field.

Since the players weren't actually doing much at the moment. It was indeed the perfect time for Maria to recruit reliable people to her side and increase the size of her army. She planned on creating a player army, so she needed help from her friends to screen the ones that are reliable and prevent players that harbored negative intentions from joining her side to spy on her and her people.

"When we finish with this time's exploration, let’s head topside and continue this discussion in further detail with Lizzy and the rest of my guild’s trustworthy executives,” Amanda said.

“Great, we’ll do that then. Thanks for hopping on board and helping me out, Ama!” Maria said with a big smile on her face.

“We’re friends, so if you asked us to join you in your war, we would’ve said yes anyway.”

“Hehehe~”

"All we gotta do now is convince the rest of the executives, along with the people that invested in our guild. We gotta convince them that helping you take over the planet will be profitable for them and the guild."

"Heh, if you guys help me. I'll leave a big piece of land for your guild to do with what you guys wish. I'll even lower the amount of tax I take from you guys to make it more profitable for everyone that invested in your guild."

"Hmm, that sounds nice."

While Maria and her friends were mapping out the First Layer of the Underworld, over at the Vanargand continent, the situation there began to grow even more chaotic and heated. With so many player factions contending for supremacy along with the Lycanthrope Kingdom that didn’t welcome them, things were very volatile and what made it worse was the PK Alliance constantly making a mess of things and purposefully sowing chaos by attacking everyone indiscriminately.

Caedes, the Guildmaster of the Testament Guild, and Eos, the Nine Hell’s Guildmaster, were meeting secretly in a lycan town’s inn and discussing a possible alliance between their factions to combat against the PK Alliance threat.

“How about it? Shouldn’t we band together and destroy the nuisances before we contest with each other? In the previous Main Story Quest event, we lost because a third party one-upped us. We shouldn’t make that mistake again, right?” Eos said.

Caedes nodded his head since he understood exactly what Eos meant, “You’re right. We should get rid of the possible threats that’ll prevent us from establishing our own factions on the continent…especially if it's a player force.”

“So you agree with me! Great!”

“This alliance is only temporary, if you betray us midway…I’ll make it so that you won’t be able to establish your own faction!”

“I understand. So, until we’ve completely dealt with all of the third-party problems, none of our forces should fight with each other!”

Caedes nodded at Eos’s words before he brought up the system so that they could sign a contract this time around. This way, it was certain that neither side would betray the other since the contract from the system would punish the side that broke the agreement before it was fulfilled.

“We’ll sign a system contract then, but let’s not add any more people into this secret alliance of ours,” Eos said.

Caedes was in agreement with what Eos said and replied, “Yes, but we should still seek a few of them out and ask for a verbal agreement to first deal with the PK Alliance before we start warring against each other.”

“We’ll be allies until the end when it’s just the two of us left. Once we’re the only ones remaining, the contract will be completed.”

The two of them quickly worked out the contents of their alliance contract and once each side was satisfied with it, they proceeded to sign it, but before they did, Caedes raised another concern, “What about the Lycans and the Dire? What’ll we do with them?”

Eos crossed his hands together and began explaining, “The Main Story Quest indicates that they’ll be fighting against each other, right?”

“Yeah, so what?”

“We’ll let them tear at each other’s throats before we swoop in to deal the final blow on them. We’ll take over Vanargand, and defend against any future invasions from the Dire. Does that sound good?” Eos asked.

Caedes thought about it for a moment before nodding. They were going to be the ones doing the third-party this time around so it sounded like a good yet simple idea though there were many things he was still concerned with.

“It sounds good and all, but what happens if our contract is fulfilled and they still haven’t destroyed each other? With the contract gone, who's to say you won’t backstab me while we deal with those two powers?”

“Didn’t you read the contract earlier? It says until the two of our forces are the only ones that remain on Vanargand. If there’s still a third force, it won’t break so you won’t need to be worried about that problem,” Eos said.

“Hmmm, so you put in something like that, huh? It seems I’ve misunderstood,” Caedes said before he grabbed the contract and continued, “Well, if things are like that then I won’t hesitate to sign it.”

He had already read through the entire document and he made sure there was nothing deceitful about it and no holes either side could take advantage of. Eos completed the signing afterwards and the two forces were secretly allies now.
