Maria carefully read through all of the items’ descriptions before putting away the two Underworld Relics. She put the Sekhem Scepter back into her [Inventory] while the Necronomicon she just attached to the chain that was holding her other book, [Paimon’s Magic Tome], which was strapped to her waist.
Now, she had two books on either side of her hips, and thankfully enough, they didn’t hinder her movements thanks to her [Bookkeeping] skill which she had obtained long ago back when she first started playing Unitale.
The Necronomicon gave off an eerier aura so Maria thought that it was best if it was kept in a place where she could see it. There were still a few more rewards to go through and they were just as important to Maria as the new equipment she just obtained.
First were the Essence Items, the 3 Divine Essences, the 2 Star Essences, and the single Void Essence. These items were rewarded to her because her Bahamut had killed the powerful Astrals and Gods that were summoned on the battlefield. The 3 Gods that Bahamut had defeated rewarded Maria the Divine Essences while the Star Essences were obtained from the defeated Astrals and the Void Essence was from Bahamut defeating Chaos.
Each of the Essences possessed powerful energy that couldn’t be used by mortals but they would come in handy later once Maria advanced her class on the Path of Divinity. She could absorb these Essences and raise her Divinity stat.
Right now, she possessed 1,000 Divinity from the Holy Grail that she possessed just lying there in her inventory but this Divinity was given to her by an item. The Class Advancement on the Path of Divinity would truly open up the Divinity stat for Maria and these essences could be used to raise that Divinity. Divinity was a very important resource and it was extremely difficult to raise it by a single point. The essences would definitely give her a good start on her Path of Divinity so for now, she stored the 5 Essences into her inventory before moving on to the next rewards.
After opening the 10 Faction Surprise Boxes and not getting anything noteworthy, she stored everything in her inventory while she tallied the number of gold she now had in her possession. She was extremely rich now but those rewards didn’t matter because she was finally going to open the skill books that the quest rewarded her.
“Alright, first let’s check this one out. [Skillbook: Raise],” Maria said as she opened up the book to read the skill’s description and information.
Item Name: Skillbook: Raise Description: A skill book that contains the powerful White Magic: Raise!
Skill Name: Raise Level: 1 (0/2000) Unique Attribute: Holy Rank: A Description: Resurrects a recently killed target negating their death penalty. The revived target will retain only 50% of their maximum resources (HP, MP, SP, etc) and be invincible for 5 seconds upon revival Cost: (Target Lv.) x 1000 MP Cooldown: 1 hour
“Oh wait…isn’t this just the second advancement priest skill? Ah, what a bummer, I thought it’d be something different or better,” Maria said with a tinge of disappointment after reading the spell’s description.
Maria still tapped the skill book on herself and added it to her list of skills. What she didn’t know was that unlike the regular [Raise] spell used by other players, the [Raise] Maria learned was actually even better. First of all, upon revival, the target would have 50% of their maximum HP, MP, and SP recovered while the normal [Raise] skill revived someone but they had only 10% of their resources upon resurrection. There was also the 5-second invincibility that was unique to Maria’s [Raise] as other players’ [Raise] didn’t have it though she didn’t know this.

Maria quickly dismissed the skill window before moving on to the next skill book she obtained.
Undead Raise Level: 1 (0/2000) Unique Attribute: Demonic Rank: A Description: Resurrects a corpse into an Undead Minion to fight for you. The summoned Undead Minion’s attributes and class will depend on the quality and type of corpse that’s being used. Maximum Summon: 2 Minions Cost: 2000 MP Cooldown: 60 seconds
“Oh, this is a new skill…I don’t think I’ve heard of it before.”
Maria knew about the Necromancer class and the abilities they had but none of them were the same as the [Undead Raise] she had just obtained, though their effects were similar. The Necromancer Class had a few skills to summon undead, namely, [Raise Skeleton Soldier], [Raise Skeleton Mage], [Raise Skeleton Knight], and so on. Each undead summoning required a corpse but the skills were separated based on what kind of undead the Necromancer wanted to summon.
The [Undead Raise], however, seemed to encapsulate all of those Necromancer summonings spells but the generated undead was randomized according to the corpse Maria used to catalyze the summoning.
Maria didn’t know if this was a good thing or a bad thing because she wouldn’t be able to specify what kind of undead she wanted to summon. This could be good and bad at the same time because what Maria didn’t know was that the necromancer players needed to obtain specific corpses to use their undead summoning spells. If they wanted to summon a Skeleton Knight, Dullahan, or a Death Knight, they needed to obtain a corpse that held the affinity to be raised into one of those knight-class undeads.
It was the same for all the other types of the undead with the exception of [Raise Skeleton Soldier] which didn’t need any specific corpse to be used since it was the most basic undead summoning skill in a Necromancer’s arsenal.
Maria could use just about any corpse she wanted and the summoned Undead would be randomized and she might get lucky and summon a Death Knight, though the minion’s attributes would be determined on the quality of the corpse she used so even if she got lucky, the summoned minion might have trash stats and will be useless even if it was a high-ranking undead like a Death Knight or a Ghost Mage.
She tapped the skill on herself and quickly learned it. She wanted to test things out because, with another additional familiar summoning ability, she was slowly becoming the literal one-woman army that she wanted to be. It was great because, on the field, she could use all of her familiars and minions to help her grind EXP. The item skills she obtained were also really good since they harmonized with each other and the new undead summoning skill she obtained.
That was the last of her material rewards and the final rewards she received were the additional level-ups that she gained. From completing the two quests at high completion rates, Maria was rewarded with 14 levels–9 from the Goddess’s Shield Quest and 5 from the Gaia’s 3 Fiats Quest. The level-ups now brought her to level 125. This amount of levels was like a month or two of constant grinding on the field so it was very lucrative in Maria’s eyes. Even more so than the other rewards she received.
