Maria continued to draw out the time of the quest until finally, only 30 minutes remained until she finished her quest, and Paimon was finished with his spell preparation.

‘But I’ll be stepping up my game now, Paipai~’
She looked at the remaining time before she turned her attention to the soldiers that were struggling trying to get past the 4th floor of the Tower. Maria had to abandon the 2nd and 3rd floors because the number of soldiers overwhelmed the golems and the traps couldn’t hinder them in the least. Only the 4th floor had adequate defenses to hold them up but even then, she could see that the defenses were slowly giving out after they were constantly being battered by the soldiers.
The golems, traps, and barriers were slowly being overwhelmed without Maria’s help but by themselves, they had managed to clear a few waves and it was now the 48th wave. Just 2 more waves and Maria would get another spell from Paimon. Now that only 30 minutes remained, there was no need for Maria to hold back anymore. She was going to thoroughly milk out all of the benefits she could receive from this quest starting now.
“Sorry, Paipai, but I’m not going to waste this amazing opportunity to learn more of your great spells!”
Maria fired a [Dark Ray] into the platoon of soldiers that were banging on the barrier of the fourth floor and completely decimated them. She was on the higher floors so the durability of the structure was greater so she could afford to use even stronger abilities that she couldn’t have used on the lower floors since it would have utterly destroyed everything there.

The charged and enhanced [Dark Ray] blasted through the soldiers of the 48th and 49th waves and immediately brought her to the 50th wave. She was about to prepare her new golems skill when a notification that she hadn’t heard of before appeared.
*DING* *DING*
Warning: Boss wave approaching!
“A boss!”
Maria immediately turned her attention to the entrance of the fourth floor and noticed that a new wave of soldiers was approaching but unlike the previous waves, these soldiers were wearing a different type of armor and there was a person leading them. The soldier at the helm was wearing black heavy armor with a very intricate design engraved on the armor that made him stand out from the rest of the soldiers. Maria remembered briefly seeing someone like this at the helm of the Dark Faction’s army and he was giving orders to everyone.

Maria smirked at the approaching commander and waited for him to break through the barrier. Seeing her confident smirk, Volvoss didn’t say anything and simply pulled out his rapier and stabbed the barrier that was blocking his soldiers’ access to the fourth floor. It was broken quite easily but this much was expected since he was level 150 and the barrier was only meant to block attacks that were from beings of level 120 and lower.
“Hmph, so the fugitive has shown herself at only the fourth floor? I thought I’d find you holing up like a rat with your master on the highest floor!”
Volvoss had a large following of soldiers behind him while Maria had the tower’s golems standing behind her. Compared to the golems, the soldiers were giving off a more powerful and threatening aura. Maria didn’t say anything against her opponent’s remark and simply chuckled at his words because she thought that it was quite funny.
“Hahaha…”
“What’s so funny? You’re going to be captured here and now by me, Volvoss of the Undefeated!”
“Do you normally walk around and announce your title like that to everyone?”
“Are you trying to mock me?”
“It’s kinda cringe, not gonna lie.”
“Woman, enough with your nonsense! Either you come with me obediently or I’ll have to capture you forcefully! Either way, you will have to answer for your crimes against the realm!”
“My crimes? Tell me, just what are these crimes of mine?”
“Since you’re not going to come willingly, then we’ll do this the hard way!”
“Ohhh, I’m looking forward to that!”
“Hmph! You better pray that your master finishes whatever spell he’s trying to conjure!”
Maria frowned when she heard that. She pulled out her Calamity and said, “Let me correct you on that.”
She flashed forward and appeared right in front of Volvoss almost instantly before she swung her weapon in a wide arc. Volvoss was caught off guard by her speed for a moment but was able to get into a defensive stance as he tried to block her attack.
‘Hmph, what a fool! How dare a mage try to contend with a warrior in close combat!”
He was mistaken to believe that because of her delicate, womanly build, that Maria’s strength was weaker than his. He was in for a rude awakening because once his opponent’s ax connected with his rapier, he immediately felt the immense strength that was behind Maria’s attack.
“!”
Volvoss was blown away by the simple attack since he had underestimated her, thinking that she was only a level 103 hybrid Priestess-Mage. He crashed into the soldiers that were behind him as Maria’s Valhalla’s Raiment began covering her body, making her look more of a warrior than even him.
“Paipai isn’t my ‘master’. He’s my mentor, get it right!”
Paimon was looking at the situation on the fourth floor and was worried for only a moment before he was shocked to see that his disciple had blown away one of the strongest people on the planet. Even though Volvoss was considered the weakest of the 5 Undefeated but he held that title for a reason.
Maria had been able to blow him away which meant that her STR was higher than his even though she was a Priestess and her level was obviously much lower than Volvoss’s level. Seeing Maria in her Valhalla’s Raiment, Paimon deduced that she had class-changed into a warrior class but wondered why she had even returned here for the priest class advancement quest if she had already class-changed.
“Hmmm, my disciple’s become more of an enigma after we’ve been separated for so long…Thankfully, her skills have only improved. To think that in such a short time, she’s managed to achieve a level where she’s on par with Eur’s 5 Undefeated.”
