The group walked up the stairs and continued on until they reached the tower entrance.
"It's been one hell of a journey, hasn't it?" Valerian asked them, letting our a sigh of relief.
The warm glow of the sunset shone right on their faces.
"Yeah, but it's something I'm not planning on doing again." Thunderbolt said.
"So, Shadow, how does it feel to be human again?" His sister asked him.
"I haven't felt this way in years. It feels great, and peaceful! By the way, it's Gabriel." He winked at her.

She noticed that he was now just as tall as she was. She hugged her brother and held him tightly.
Shadow looked at his friends. "Welcome back into your bodies, guys."

After they got back to the witches' hut, Valerian piled up blankets and pillows for them to sleep on.
I guess I don't mind being the caretaker.....once in a while. She thought to herself.
That night, everybody but Scratch had gone to sleep, in fact, he wandered outside to watch the stars. When he thought he was alone, Shadow did what he did best and appeared from the darkness.
"What the hell are you doing?" Shadow asked him, with a smile.
"Just watching the stars." Scratch said while looking up.
