After several hours of rest, Shadow had gone to Beta for any new information.
"The messengers came back, she told us to lock them up in the single room upstairs."
Shadow nodded. "....and are they on it?"
The Beta nodded.
Shadow sighed as he said. "Just to be clear, if theyre not tied, they'll squeeze out of that hole in the wall." Beta bowed her head. "Yes, Alpha."

Shadow can still feel a pang of guilt for sacrificing his friends, but he couldn't do anything about it.....even if he wanted to.
The Beta rolled her eyes.
"Shadow, I appreciate what you do and have done for us, but you've GOT to stop attaching yourself to these souls!"
He sighed. " I know."
But to him, these guys felt more like family than any other soul has!
Beta laughed. "It's always the live ones." She said jokingly.
As much as he regretted it, Shadow forced a chuckle.
"The dead are better a necromancer's company." She added.
"Yeah..." Shadow said.
"You still hungry?" Beta asked.
Shadow thought of the offer. "Yeah, you still have that heart?"
She smiled at him. "Special for you!"
He nods. "Alright, I'll take a bite!"
"Come then."
