Jake teleported away from the monster appearing at the corner of the sealed space; he then gave the command for one of his servants to attack the monster while Jake thought over the methods he could use to fight the monster. The servant that Jake sent in flow up to the monster’s face discharging it full power into it before it vanished Jake looked on as the energy entered the monster’s face then through its body and out into the surrounding swamp, not a single bit of damage could be seen on the mud monster.
“Well, that tactic is out.”
Jake’s wings sprouted into being as he shot forward, flying up to the monster’s head, and charged a fireball. The mud monster swung his head to the side, looking directly at Jake. Opening its mouth, it spewed out a huge amount of mud, hitting Jake’s left arm before hardening. The fireball failed to form under the hardened mud. Jake couldn’t move his arm, making his attack for not. So he teleported away, only to find out that not all of him came through the other side. Every part of Jake’s body that had mud on it stayed behind. Jake quickly drank one of his healing potions before he sat down.
“This is going to be a pain.” Jake said through gritted teeth as his arm slowly heals.
“I’m thinking I might be losing my arm a bit too much lately.”
As Jake teleported from place to place, keeping at a distance from the mud monster. He came up with a new plan and that was to cut the mud monster off from its source of power. There were two options: lift the mud monster out of the swamp and into the air, or find a way to stop the flow of mud. As the first one was impossible for Jake, he had no choice but to try the second one, by using his fireball skill as a kiln to bake the mud monster’s feet. After some time, Jake was finally ready for battle again. Flashing through the sky, Jake landed just in range of his fireball. firing one after another until the monster started to attack, then he flow to a different location to continue. This continued for one hour before the monster did something he wasn’t expecting. Both of the monster’s fists pounded into the ground as it stopped moving. The mud from the swamp moved up its arms as it condensed into what looked to be extra appendages that sprouted from its back.
“Now that’s fucken sick.” Jake said as he watched literal shit enter the monster’s body.
Just as Jake thought he had found a way to defeat the monster, he was back to square one, as the monster began its slow walk towards Jake, but this time with a constant stream of mud vomit spewing everywhere.
“Its attack patterns are simple, like to the point it’s boring. But it’s just so big I can’t beat it. If I knew its weaknesses, no, my plan is working,” Jake said as he looked at the monster’s feat. They haven’t moved since it put its hands in the swamp.
Continuing on his current path, Jake attacked the monster’s hands, starting with the ones out of the swamp this time, then finally he began his attack on the others. After three days of constant fighting with the monster in a cheesy way, Jake finally cut the monster off from its source of power. To do this, Jake had to bake the mud from its hands to its shoulders and from its feet to its knees. It took Jake so long because the monster kept sprouting new limbs. The monster looked more like an echidna now that Jake had baked its arms solid. Now all Jake had to do was kill the monster and bring about the end of this dungeon. Jake started blasting away with his fireballs while he dodged the monster’s vomit. Only stopping to take the last of his mana potions every hour, just to make sure he never ran low on his mana. The monster’s body got smaller with every attack it made, making Jake’s final attack more impact full when he charged a full power punch, blowing the monster’s body to bits. Chunks of hardened mud splashed back into the swamp. Jake relentlessly punched until he obliterated the monster. He opened up his terminal to check if the boss was dead.

Just after Jake finished checking his notifications, the whole dungeon flashed with a white glow before it vanished, leaving Jake standing at what once was the entrance to the dungeon with all of his missing items returned to him. Staring out into the forest, Jake noticed every monster he didn’t kill escaping into the forest.
“I might have made a mistake.”
“Yer. you did.”
Jake quickly turned around to see who said that, only to be blindsided by an enormous fist, knocking him unconscious.
“You really shouldn’t have let me go.”
Some time later, Jake awoke. He found himself naked and on the ground. His soulbound items were the only things that remained, and they were scattered throughout the forest. Jake looked around for any other belongings that might have been left behind, but to his dismay, he found nothing else.
Jake went over what items he still had remaining after that bastard of a man Jake should have just killed hit him in the back of his head.

“I have to be the unluckiest man in the universe. That funny prick, why do I keep falling for the same shit?”
Not only could Jake not enter his human form he also exited the dungeon with less of everything, stats taken, items gone, and everything Jake worked so hard for had been taken from him, he didn’t even have a weapon to defend himself with all thanks to his trusting nature he trusted those monkeys he trusted that human and now he is trusting a system and why is that. It was because it supposedly saved him, but Jake had no actual proof that anything he was told by that system was true at all. Plus jake didn’t even know what the system was or why it was really doing all of this. It said it needs experience to evolve, but what is it evolving from and what is it evolving into?
Jake equipped his clothing before summoning out his wings. Taking flight, he handed directly to the outpost of the demon’s hand mercenary group. As he caused everyone and everything that used him for their own benefits. When Jake arrived at the outpost, his killing intent was on full display, the guards at the gates crumpled to the ground, blood streaming out of every orifice as he approached. Jake kicked open the gate and walked over to the group of people that seemed to be able to at least put up a bit of a defence.
“Where is everyone?” Jake shouted. But as he did this, the feeble defence the people had erected around themselves crumbled to dust they fainted on-the-spot Jake cursed their incompetence before moving on to a big building that looked a lot like the old meeting hall from back then when he first made his settlement. Jake kicked the doors clean off of their hinges before walking inside. Sitting at a desk was Eric. He looked fully healed.
“What can I do for you Mr Everval?” Eric said
“Mr, it’s nice to see how quickly you change your tone, little pup,” Jake replied before saying what he actually came here for.
“Where is my wife?” Eric looked at the enraged demon standing in front of him but because of Jake’s new position, he couldn’t treat him the same as he would have liked. So he took on the role of his superior as the mercenary group’s rules required him to.
“madam everval is out with a team of mercenaries fighting against the invaders, but as you are no longer the commander of the group, I can not give you any more information on her mission.” Jake just looked at the man he would have once called a friend and said,
“I hope you don’t find yourself in a position like before, Eric, as next time I might not help you or this group that still holds my titles. Just remember that next time you are in trouble.” Jake said this before leaving the building. Jake walked out of the outpost and into the forest, leaving a trail of destruction in his wake.
The demon hand mercenary group
(Erica)
Erica sat at the moon base, waiting for a very important person to arrive. She had received word that the demon of death was coming to have a look at her mercenary group to see if it met her standards. This information came directly from Aaliyah, so Erica didn’t believe she was lying, but she hadn’t received any reports of new ships entering the system, so Erica began to relax. She was sitting in her office for the first time in days with her hands resting on the table as they were being used as pillows for her head when, without any warning, a voice broke the silence.
“So this is how a servant of this new demon acts the moment her master has gone?”
“I’ve been the one holding all this together. Jake even left it all to me and some lady named Jayne when he dumped us like a sack of potatoes the moment we got in his way.”
“Good. At least he knows what’s best for him. Now, would you mind telling me what the purpose of this mercenary group is in your mind?”
“It’s a place people can come to find their own path in this universe and a place where Jake can return to.”
“Interesting. So are you saying anyone can join this group, from demons to gods, from slavers to slaves?”
“Not exactly. My master frowns upon slavery and we don’t allow groups to join us. Only individuals and those individuals who are inclined to take slaves would need to surrender them before they join us.”
“Ok, it looks like I will either have to destroy this group or make it subordinate to me. I can not allow a group to have my race in its name without even having a demon in charge.”
Erica finally looked up from her desk and simply said, “this mercenary group belongs to my master, the demon of the past and no one else even if he doesn’t want to run it, it is still his and always will be.”
“Good, at least you’re a loyal servant. If possible, I would like to meet this master of yours some time in the future. I will also take the Demon rank and the Demon official positions within your mercenary group, so sign me up, lady Blake. Because you are going to need me in the future.” The demon of death said just as she walked out of Erica’s office.
“That lady was scary.” Erica’s personal assistant said.
