Returning to the moon base, Jake and Zac were talking about the future.
“I will be leaving my two guards here for now and return with everything you asked for, as well as my personal house staff. You know this isn't going to go down well back at home when they find out you have a wife. I never told you what happened six months ago, did I?”
“No, you didn't. Why do you bring this up now?”
“The reason I even met you was because of it. As you know, six months ago was my fertilisation period and I kind of lost myself. I ended up killing close to an entire branch family and a Neptunian star wrangler just to get the man that changed her. First, let me explain one of the important things about a Neptunian star wrangler: they have a 90% chance of getting seeded by the one they are bonded to, and most importantly, they are fertile twice a year and for two months each time.”
“Why did you do it? Was it just to have children or something more?”
“Something more. A Neptunian star wrangler is an evolved form of my species; we gain a lot more than that. Did you know our children have a higher chance of becoming a Neptunian star wrangler themselves?”
“But that doesn't explain why you wanted that man so badly.”
Zac looked sheepish as she said, “There is a high chance of change if you sleep with a taken catalyst. This is why I'm worried about you if they find out you didn't even sleep with me.”
“So when exactly did you kill everyone? Was it before or after?”
“It was after. It didn't work, and I lost my temper a bit.”
“A bit,” Jayne said as she laughed.
“But this still doesn't explain why I can't have a wife.”
“A catalyst can only ever be with the one he changed due to the fact that if he doesn't, the one he changed will be stuck at their current cultivation level till they die.”
“Wait, is this some kind of dual cultivation?”
“Yes, but how do you know about that kind of cultivation?”
“Jayne and I are dual cultivators.”
“Your what?” Zac exclaimed, her heart thumping.
“But I have a question that's been bugging me. Why do you breathe oxygen now?” Jayne asked.
“Once we evolve, we take on some characteristics of our catalyst.”
“Do you mind not calling me a catalyst? It just makes me feel like an object.”
Ten days later, Jake and Zac walked towards a ship that had been sent out by the King himself upon learning his daughter was representing his entire race to a new species, one capable of faster-than-light travel. Onboard was a man named Viv Con Vay, a member of the same family Zac almost wiped out. He was only a guard, but still, if he found out that Jake was the person that changed Zac, things would go funny. That's why Jayne was in her humanoid form with her arm around Jake's, while Zac was standing by herself. The ramp dropped, and five young men walked out, followed closely behind by a lady who looked very similar to Zac. One of the men looked in the direction of Jake, but his eyes lingered on his wife just a little too long; he was like a man in heat, and Jake had a feeling this meeting was going to go very wrong. As the group arrived, the lady walked over to Zac and hugged her.
“It's been too long, Mum.”
“That it has, and I see you have become a Neptuneian star wrangler finally; that's great.”
“Yes, it is.”
“So who is the catalyst?” Queen Mandy asked, looking around for her daughter's partner.
“I'll tell you about it in private. Would you like to meet the owner of this moon and the man who is willing to give us what we came here for?”
“Yes, I would. I would also like to know the details of this deal.”
That's when the man with the roaming eyes walked up to Jake and Jayne.
“I have never seen a more beautiful lady in my life. It would
be a real honour if I took you back with me as a prized concubine,” Viv said, not even looking at the man she was currently with.
“Husband, can I kill this fool?”
“You think you can kill me?” The man laughed as he walked back towards the queen and asked her a question whilst pointing at Jayne. The queen then headed over to Jake, with Jayne trying to stop her.
“Miss, it seems you have taken the eye of Lord Vay. If you come back with us, your position would be much greater than spending your time on this rock.”
Jake went to interject, but the same man interrupted, “You dare speak to our queen with your dirty commoner mouth?”
“I dare to do what the fuck I want within my own territory, and that includes summary executions of fools like you. Now shut the fuck up, and you, Miss Queen, your precious deal that your daughter struggled so hard for has just taken a giant setback from your actions alone. But as your daughter hasn't seen you for a long time, you are welcome to stay with her,” Jake said before walking off with his wife beside him.
“Who does he think he is? I will have what I want,” Viv said as he went back to the ship. Zac, on the other hand, turned to her mum and said after everyone was gone, “You wanted to know who? Well, you just found out, and you just tried to take away his cultivation partner.”
“His what? Then am I right to say you two haven't?”
“No, not once; the man has never touched me.”
“Then how is this possible?” the queen asked.
“I don't know, but I'm staying here with him, and I hope you make amends; otherwise, things will get really difficult for your people. He's already warned me of his will to go to war. Now, after what you and that fool have done, I doubt he will be so nice as to warn us.”
“But he's only got this little moon; what can he do to us?”
“It's not just a moon.”
“What, he has some land on a planet?”
“He teleported me to a completely different galaxy where he owns an entire solar system, and it’s likely he will soon have more. His power in this system is small, but outside of it is a different story. He could wipe your people out without even thinking about it.”
“You keep saying ‘your people’; don't you mean ‘ours’?”
“No, like I said, I will be staying here, and from the people back on that planet, I will be taking my house staff, and that is all.”
“I don't like this.”
“I don't really care what you like or dislike; I found a path forward for my people and our new children.”
“Wait, you came here with two of your guards; where are they now?”
“Looking after the father of their children. He had a bit of a rough time, so they're taking care of him.”
“No way, two with the same man. How is that possible?”
Jake was sitting in his room cultivating when the queen knocked on the door, a strange occurrence; the Venusians don't have this custom, so Jake instantly knew this queen had at least talked with her daughter.
“Come in.”
The door opened as Queen Mandy graced the doorway with her presence.
“Have you come here to apologise or something else?”
“Queens don't apologise, but mother-in-laws do. I'm sorry for what I did out there, and for the actions of my guard. He has been a very loyal man, so I wanted to pay him back for sticking by me. Again, I'm sorry, and I would also ask you to take care of my daughter. I will be leaving tomorrow to get things organised for her.”
“Wow, I didn't expect that. You are welcome to stay, and it would be good if you talked with my ministers, at least the ones I have here, that is.”

“I would like to, but if word got back before I did, things could get a lot harder for Zacaret. She has had it tough for some time, so I would like to get her away from all that mess back home.”
“If you're willing, you can take this back with you.”
“What is it?”
“It's simple paper with the terms and obligations of our alliance. I haven't changed anything on it; if you don't believe me, get your daughter to have a look.”
Just as the queen was about to leave, there was a lot of talking followed by a scuffing noise. The queen opened the door and was about to say something when she saw her guard pinning Lady Everval down. His hands were reaching for her chest. A killing intent erupted out of Jake as he pulled out his pistol, only for two flashes to chop both of Viv's arms off, and a large foot pinned the man to the wall while two swords pierced straight through the man's chest, sticking him firmly to the wall, his eyes in shock. Then the man and the two ladies turned to face Jake, and all three knelt. “Sorry I'm late, sir. I had a few things to sort out before I could come and thank you.”
“That's fine, Jo. Don't overthink it; it's the least I could do for you. And please don't bow to me; it's just odd.” Jake walked over to his wife and helped her up. “What happened? Why didn't you just kill him?”
“I didn't want to mess things up for you any more than what had already occurred.”
“Don't worry about consequences; if someone attacks you, kill them; if someone threatens you, kill them; and if anyone has an issue with it, kill them too.”
Jake walked over to the barely breathing man and poured a healing potion down the man's throat. The man simply laughed as the healing took effect.
“You people are nothing to the power of the Venusians.” Viv looked over at the queen's stoic face, then back at the man in front of him with a knife in his hand. “What do you think you're doing? My family will come down on you the moment they find out what happened here. Release me now.”
“Didn't I hear your precious family fell into a calamity, oh, around six months ago? Tell me, how exactly are they going to come for you?”
“The king will not stand for this.”
“The queen is right behind me; has she stopped me yet? Has she even asked for your forgiveness? But don't worry, I'm not going to kill you,” Jake said as he reached down with his knife, cutting the man's roots and stem clean off. The man screamed in agony for a minute until the healing potion began working on healing his wound, but moments later, he started yelling as he felt there was a problem in the healing process. “What have you done to me? I'm going to kill you all for this; just you wait.” Jake just grinned at the unic. “Good luck ever getting your jollies off now; no amount of healing will bring that back.”
The queen walked over to Jake and, with a curious expression, asked how this was possible, but instead of Jake answering, it was Jayne. “He attacked a bloody poison specialist, and what's worse for him is that the potion he was given was made by me. He is going to be in pain every day till the day he dies.”
Jake then removed the two swords and handed them back to the ladies. “Thank you for helping my wife; I will never forget this.”
“We were only doing what was right, sir.”
“Even so, thank you all. If you need anything, just ask,” Jake said to the group. The two ladies looked over at Jayne, then back at Jake. “We would like to enter the service of Lady Everval.”
Jayne walked over to the two ladies. “Are you sure about this? You won't have it easy working for me. Wouldn't you be better off working for Zac? She at least will be in a relatively safe place where you can look after your children.”
“We are guards, Lady Everval; we're not ones to play house. As for Zac, although she is a good person to work for, her profession doesn't allow for good growth opportunities. But you will always need people like us around.”
“I will accept you on one condition.”
“What is that, Lady Everval?”
“Look after your children first. I don't want you out in the field till your children are born and being cared for.”
“Yes, Lady Everval.”
“The same goes for you, Jo. Take some time off.”
