Jake found himself standing over the decaying bodies of his former team, looking down at the one with the radio in his back. He said, “I'm sorry, brother. I tried to keep her safe for you, but like I told you when you asked me, I'm just not good with people.”
“What the fuck are you mumbling about?” came a voice from behind.
Jake looked over at the man he once called a friend. “Adam, ha. I truly had forgotten about you.”
“What do you mean forgotten? I know a year was a long time to be stuck in a room, but come on, my hatred for you only got stronger.” Adam pulled out his sidearm and shot Jake in the head.
Adam started to laugh hysterically. “I thought it would feel better killing you, but it's just made me more angry. If it had just bee–” Adam stood there, staring at Jake, or what looked like Jake. No, this was a demon from the biblical realm. The next moment, the demon was on top of him, its long nails digging into his face.
“Ha, you really just sat in that room for a year. I'm surprised your right arm isn't the size of a house by now.” Jake said before he ripped off the skin on Adam’s face, then rammed his fist through his chest and squeezed his heart into paste. Looking around the alley he was in, he saw the scared faces of the Australian government's enforcers. “Run,” Jake said in a quiet voice, but it was like everyone in the area could hear him as they all dropped their weapons and ran for their lives. Jake was glad they ran because, after the tutorial, the system didn't refill his stats.
What was a little disappointing to Jake was that after killing Adam, Jake didn't gain any levels. Jake made his way to an abandoned building as he looked for a quiet place to recover. Looking down at his body, he realized he was actually in his old clothing, including his combat webbing, something that has become unneeded now as he also still had his storage item. Looking into his storage ring, there were all the things that he acquired.
List of items in the storage ring:
Misc items:
* Upgrade token: Upgrades an item one rank.
* Settlement token: Claim a plot of land on your home world. Size 870 km². The area picked will be protected from bombardment and unauthorized entry, limited to those with hostile intent. You can pick up to five lifeforms to run your settlement. Any profession-related activities will have a 20-point bonus to each level gained. This only applies to the owner and the five managers. Items crafted will require 30% less materials to form a finished product while in the settlement. Land claimed will be recognized as land owned by the user of this token.
* Transport token: Locked to Aaliyah La Flame’s home world cottage. Can transport 10 lifeforms. Soul-bound to Jake Everval.
* Blueprints of Erica-class Corvette and other miscellaneous blueprinted items
Weapons items:
* Scope of mana (common): Uses a mana-infused metal to provide sharpened vision; magnification increases depending on perception stat. Fits F88.

Jake quickly changed out of his old clothes and back into his other outfit, minus the battle exo suit, as Jake decided to forgo it, for now, to save it for when he really needed it. After Jake put on his clothing, he sat down and started a long meditation session. After a week and a half of meditation, Jake was back at full strength, and as such, he divided up his stat points. Jake knew he didn't want to be a strength-based fighter, and it's not like he had to lift anything heavy, so letting that stat lag behind the others was okay by him. Perception was the other stat that Jake didn't have to worry about right now, so he just put a little 100,000 into it. That left him with 497,218 points for emergencies.

Jake's body felt more nimble; he felt as if he could avoid a bullet if he saw it coming. And if he did get hit, he had enough health points to just tank the damage and keep going.
“So, I wonder how that teleport skill will work. I can see myself chaining skills together with that one. Just think, hiding in a shadow, only appear and attack the enemy, then teleport into a different one to hide again. Fuck, there are so many options that could come available.”
Jake was pondering over the options when he heard talking from outside.
“We saw him over here last, sir. He was some kind of demon with horns and all. He crushed Adam's heart with his bare hands, not to mention ripping his face off and laughing at him.”
“Just tell me where he is, soldier. Just leave the rest to me.” “That building, sir.” “It was Adam's fault anyway. Imagine getting the chance to become a literal God, but then turning around and saying no, I am too good to do a stinking tutorial. What an idiot.”
Jake got up, walked out the front door, and instantly used his identify on the two individuals.
Human:
* Grade: G
* Level: 10
Human:
* Grade: G
* Level: 50
“Well, that sucks, I thought you would be stronger, seeing how you were all confident a second ago.”
The man on the right was the weakest of the two and seemed frightened, his face physically pale, while the man on the left was clearly an idiot.
“Ha, you think you can scare us? I'm level 50 and have put all my points into strength. I'm by far the strongest out of the three of us, so just die for me.” He said before rushing at Jake and throwing his strongest punch at Jake's face. The impact sound was loud enough that it broke the glass behind them. Jake just stood there with a grin. To him, everything seemed to be in slow motion. If Jake wanted to, he could have simply moved out of the way, but Jake wanted to know just how strong someone at level 50 could be.
“Um, was that your strongest punch?” “Are you fucking with me? Of course, that wasn't. Why would I use my full strength on some weakling like you?” “Hey mate, do you even know how to use your identify skill? If you can't, just ask the man beside you. But I would hurry, as it looks like he is going to have a heart attack any time now.”
The man looked over at his companion, then quickly shot his gaze back to Jake.
“Demon, let him go. If you don't, I will not hold back my power anymore.” The idiot yelled.
Jake just looked at the man in disbelief. “Are you a fucking idiot? I haven't done anything to him yet.” Jake, having enough of this fool, decided to shut him up. With one flick of his finger, he sent the man flying across the street and through a shop front window.
“Fuck, he really did just put everything into his strength. If he kept going that way, he would have been the world's biggest glass cannon.”
Jake looked over at the cowering young man. “So what is the political environment now, and what is the situation outside the city?” Jake asked.
“Don't kill me.” “I'm not going to kill you, just answer my question, then you can go.” “The Victorian government has regained its power in the capital. They're recruiting powerful people to enforce their new rules, and most of the people have agreed with the government's rules.” “Is the resistance still around?” “The resistance has been either destroyed or left the city to find their deaths in the wilderness.” “What do you mean by their deaths?” “The government enforcers swept the city two days ago. That's why it took so long for them to send one of the enforcers here to deal with you.” “Get back on track. Tell me about this dome that looks to be encompassing the city, and is the city larger than it was?” “Yes, the city is larger, and the dome, as you called it, is a barrier that keeps enemies out.” “What do you mean by enemies? Is there a faction or something outside the dome?” The man went paler than he was. “Out there, there are monsters, very powerful monsters. It looks like the wildlife on the planet got a boost in their stats, at least more than us humans.” “Okay, one last thing. How is in charge of the government right now, and are they aware there is a fucking armada sitting up there?” Jake pointed at the sky. “What do you mean by that, an armada?” “Yes, there is a fleet of ships up in space. I wouldn't have noticed them, but one just tried to enter the atmosphere. It didn't go well.” “Okay, so no, not that I'm aware of. But as for who is in charge, well, it's the same old, same old.” “So, he survived then.” The man stood there, waiting for Jake to say something, but nothing came for a good couple of minutes before he mustered up the willpower to speak. “Is there anything else that you want to know?” Jake was stunned for a second as he had totally forgotten about the man. “No, you can go. Oh wait, before that, who is the strongest leveled person in the city, and what's their level?” “The leader of the enforcers, and her level is 100. She just broke through to 100 two days ago. Can I go now?” the man said with hope in his eyes. “Yes, fuck off, and don't let me catch you again.”
