Chapter 38 that's a bear

Chapter 38 that's a bear

A minute had passed with the man screaming the whole time. Jake had done nothing else to the man, he just kept pinning him down with a foot firmly planted on the man’s chest. “Finally.” Jake said as a man walked through the door wearing a settlement guard uniform.

“My lord, what has happened here?”

“This man committed murder and is to be executed for his crimes as for the lady there, try to find her family if she’s got any. Make sure no one enters this room other than Kiki, Eric and Emma, not a single other person. Now, can you help me find Emma, Kiki, and Eric?”

“Yes, sir, and Emma is currently at the main gate. She was just about to leave on a hunting expedition with her team. As for Eric, he is currently helping over at a settlement that propped up in what used to be the town of Wonthaggi. He took over fifty mercenaries and ten of the settlement guards with him. Kiki is the only one left in the settlement. I think she might be at the mercenary group’s hall, which they relocated closer to the main gate. Then there’s the secondary building that is used for training near the construction site back in the bushland. Or she could be at the new school that is just down the street in a newly constructed building. I’ve actually been thinking of sending some of the guards there to learn new skills. It would be of grate use for us to produce our own weapons and potions, then we can spend more time out in the field without needing to return to the settlement for resupplies.”

“Thank you. Make sure you keep an eye on that fool that other guy can go. He was just at the wrong place at the wrong time. Also, tell your men what I look like. I have noticed that people don’t know who I am, and it’s coursing a lot of issues or I could just go around in my demon form that would also work.” Jake said as he was walking out of the room.

After jake had left, the guard that was speaking muttered, “now that guy is scary.” Looking over at the man he was told to let go, he asked, “now what the fuck did you do?” As he was walking over to him, the man spoke in a horse voice “I fucked up didn’t I?”

The guard laughed and replied, “oh boy, yes you did.”

“What the fuck happened here?” An angry voice yelled from the doorway. The guard turned to look, seeing it was some council official, the guard commenced his job.

“Sir, this area is off limits to all people, and I’m going to have to ask you to leave.”

“Don’t give me that crap. Do you know how I am? This is my brother’s office and – jack. What happened to you?” The man tried to run over to his disarmed brother, but the guard quickly responded and blocked his path. “Sir, we are placing your brother under arrest for murder. If you move any closer, I will arrest you for obstruction of justice.”

“Bull shit, that’s my brother. He wouldn’t kill anyone. Someone must have framed him. Just open your eyes. They ripped off his arms and left him here to be found. Get out of my way now.” The man yelled.

“Sir, a witness caught your brother in the act. So I must again ask you to leave. And you can also go. Next time you meet him, I suggest you try to be a lot more courteous.” The guard said to the man on the ground.

“I will. Thank you.” The man went to leave when he was stopped at the door by the brother of the murderer.

“Where do you think you're going, my brothers lying there on the floor and you think you can just leave? You will tell me right now who set up my brother and why?”

The man that was trying to leave replied in the loudest voice he could manage with his damaged vocals “I don’t have to tell you shit and I will give you a peace of advice that I wish I had five minutes ago be courteous otherwise you may just piss off someone you really shouldn’t.” the man pushed passed and walked away only to be hit in the head, he crumpled to the ground as his vision went dark. “You idiot turning your back to someone you just made an enemy o–” the man’s head hit the ground as his body was still standing. The man’s blood stained the guard’s blade.

“Are you alright?” the guard asked as he was helping the man up. “Yes, thank you. What the fuck was all that about?”

“sir I think you may want to look over your actions before you ask that.”

“Well, thank you again. May I leave?”

“Yes, I will take care of all this. You can just leave, just keep out of trouble.”

The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

Jake was walking down the street to the main exit when he saw it. The building had five stories and at the door there stood a sign it said Jake’s school of witchcraft. Working title.

“What kind of messed up joke is that?”

“Boss, like the name?”

“No. I definitely don’t. And what’s with those damned coins being used in the market?” Jake said to Kiki, “did you by any chance come up with this idea?”

“That’s not fair. It wasn’t just me, and it does have a bit of a ring to it.”

“Ar, fuck it. Do what you want.”

“Okay, we will. The school will forever be known as Jake’s school of witchcraft.” She said with a laugh.

“So have we got some people together for going to the other would. I have decided to go there to enhance my profession, and I thought I could bring along some of the teachers who have been selected.”

“How many people can you take because on the mercenary group side we have five people that would like to go and three more from the council?”

“That leaves me with two spots empty. wait I’ve got two people that could use the experience. Could you find someone to get Mary and Lewis? There are plenty of things to kill over there, and it would be good to have some more fighters to help out.”

“What types of monsters are there?”

“Mostly spiders, but they are not like the monsters here there not as dumb there more evolved, some possibly above E grade.”

“And you only need two people as guards?”

“Ar, to be perfectly honest, I don’t need them. The place we are going is kind of like a safe zone.”

After talking with Kiki for a while, Jake was escorted into the school, where he sat down and waited for the people to arrive. Three hours later, Jake was still in the room, but now the room was void of any arcane energy.

“I should probably figure out how to fix that.”

“Fix what?” a man said. He was the spitting image of the chicken loving colonel.

“Nothing, it doesn’t matter. I’m assuming you’re one of the others that will be going with me.”

“Yes, I’m an alchemist from the council. There will also be two black smith’s going as well.”

“I believe they are called smith’s, but ultimately yes, they do just hit something with a hammer.” Jake replied

“Is that so?” a lady said from behind the chicken colonel.

“Show me it’s different, and I will retract my statement. “

The lady went quiet, not taking any action, as this would only prove his point.

Jake had said what he did to put a fire under the smith’s ass to prove to the alchemist that a smith is more than just a blacksmith from before the system. He just wanted to see the alchemist's face when he realised that it was his profession that was limited the most. But this could all be just Jake’s bias on the whole alchemy bull shit and his hatred at sitting for hours as right now his ass hurts.

“Yer, you blacksmiths are nothing but a bunch of hammer winding brutes.”

“Okay, that’s enough.” Jake said.

After the two people from the council arrived, the five teachers from the mercenary group entered, followed by the last smith from the council. Now they were only waiting for Mary and Lewis to arrive.

Fifteen minutes passed before Mary and Lewis entered the room.

The same old man spoke first. “What took you so long? We’ve been waiting for hours.”

Jake took a quick look at the man, then back at the two latecomers. “It’s good to see you again,” Jake said before the old man spoke again. “Now all we have to do is wait for the one who can supposedly can take us to a different world.”

Jake looked over at the man with a bit of a frown “alright I’m starting to get a little fed up with your crap and before you try to say something I happen to be that person how can take you to a different world also I’m the fucken owner of this settlement so if you wish to keep your place in this group then shut up for once in your life.”

The other people that were picked by the council started clapping. "You idiot, you didn’t even know that the man you were standing next to was Jake, the owner of this settlement. You are so far up yourself that you didn’t even research who it was that was taking us. I even bet you thought you were going to be in charge of all of us,” one of the members of the mercenary group said while holding back her laughter.

“Okay colonel you can sit back down now and let the Boss tell you what we will be doing.”

“Thank you Mary. Now, shall we get started with some simple rules? rule once we get there. You eight are not allowed to leave the cabin. This is for your own safety. There are powerful monsters on the planet. Rule two, there are a lot of books there and you can read anything as long as it has nothing to do with a lady named Aaliyah or the profession of an arcane smith. Those two things are out and if I find out that anyone has broken that rule, I will kill them. The third and final rule is to use your time there wisely. Your time will be limited and, as such, you won’t be able to read everything.”

Jake walked up to the group and asked what everyone’s name was.

Council personnel

Mark Ross also now as the colonel. Alchemist age 67.

Rosabella White. Smith 53.

Tristan O’Neill. Smith 48.

Demon’s hand mercenary group

Samuel Hobbs (Sami). alchemist age 55.

Jeffrey Rasmussen. Alchemist age 29.

Ibrahim Nunez. Smith age 20.

Serenity Robinson. Alchemist age 68.

Ebony Tapia. Smith age 19.

And finally, there were the two Jake already knew.

“Last chance, does everyone have what they need?” no one replied. They all just looked at him oddly. Jake quickly activated the token and whisked them all away.

Emma was out with her team they had hunted down quite a few low rank monsters since they had been out here she wished that there was more time than what she had for hunting but for now she had five days all for the progression of her class levels It was odd now that she looked at her levels she noticed the profession level was now twice as high as her class level. But for now, all her efforts would be all for her class levels.

“Emma, his coming around on your right flank. Hit him hard.”

Thud!

“Yes, you got it.”

“Nice work Emma. that’s one big ass monkey. also how are there monkeys in Australia?”

“They would have escaped from one of the zoos. What the fuck is that?” one of the team said

“That is a bear.” Emma said.
