Slimantha blinked. Her beautiful brown eyes were still on the pool of silver sword essence. Said pool continued to deform. A thick silvery tendril reached up from the main body of silvery substance. Slimantha blinked again and then glanced at her three still-quivering slimes. Her eyes then went back to the amorphous silvery thing.
“You mind stopping that?” she said. “You are kind of scaring my glowy slimy bois.” Silvery sword blades erupted from the silvery thing’s amorphous body, and her three slimes darted behind her. She blinked. Then the silvery creature contorted to point its sword blades at her. “Well, that’s just rude.” She crossed her arms and puffed her cheeks out.
Samuel stepped in front of Slimantha. His hand went to the hilt of his sheathed sword. The silvery creature shifted to point its silvery sword blades at him now. “Stay back,” he said, his blue eyes dead-set on the amorphous blade-bearing entity. “I will deal with this monster.” He drew his sword, its gray blade glinting.
Slimantha blinked again. Her beautiful brown eyes were on Samuel. “You sure you have this?” She glanced at the silvery amorphous entity before returning her gaze to Samuel. “That thing looks kind of tough.”
Samuel glanced back at Slimantha, their eyes meeting for a moment. “Don’t worry. I’m a hero. I got this.” He turned his attention back to the silvery creature.
“Have at it then.” Slimantha smiled and then turned away from Samuel and the silvery creature. She walked over to Mimi and Black, her three glowing slimes following her. Upon reaching the two other women, she turned around to face the hero and his opponent. She stood at Black’s right, Mimi at Black’s left. The three glowing slimes sat in front of the three women.
Black’s tail swished behind her, her lovely brown eyes on Samuel. She glanced at the silvery creature as it lunged at the hero. The sound of metal on metal rang out as the hero’s sword met one of the creature’s silvery blades. Her tail swished again. “I think that thing is a sword elemental.” Her eyes followed the elemental as it sprouted more sword blades. “Looks like it is made out of sword essence.” The elemental reached higher, its body distorting. There wasn’t much of a pool left beneath it at this point.
“You know?” Mimi said, glancing at Black. “This thing”—her golden eyes went to the sword elemental—“is probably why that bird woman dumped us down here.” Mimi blinked and then brought her right hand to her chin. “What did she say her name was?”
“Latril,” Black said. Her brown eyes went to Mimi. “That bird woman said her name was Latril.”
“Right.” Mimi looked at Black and smiled. “That was it.” The sound of breaking metal drew Mimi’s attention back to the fight. A certain hero now stood with a broken sword in his right hand, the blade of his sword looking to have shattered. A drop of sweat rolled down Mimi’s right cheek. Slimantha and Black joined the mimic in sweatdropping.
“I so don’t think he has this,” Slimantha said. Her beautiful brown eyes followed Samuel as he backed up. He still held his broken sword in his right hand, but the sword was mostly just hilt at this point.
The sword elemental oozed forward. Silvery sword blades jutted out from it at odd angles. It reared up, twisting its sword blades toward its prey, toward Samuel. It lunged forward, but a wall of viscous blue stopped it.

“I’m sorry, but no impaling the hero,” Slimantha said, stepping up to Samuel. She huffed and then snapped her right fingers. The wall of viscous blue deformed into a mass of amorphous blue tentacles. The tentacles reached around the sword elemental, binding it.
The sword elemental thrashed. Its body deformed. Yet more silvery sword blades erupted from its form. One tentacle snapped. Another threatened to give. Clearly, the slime bindings wouldn’t hold much longer.
Black stepped up to Slimantha and Samuel. She glanced at the pair, and a smile flashed across her face. “You two get back,” she said, her tail swishing. “I’ll finish this thing.” Her lovely brown eyes went to the still-bound sword elemental. She smiled again, her tail giving another swish. Though the slime bindings clearly wouldn’t last much longer, they would last long enough. This would be easy.
“You heard the woman,” Slimantha said, her beautiful brown eyes meeting Samuel’s blue eyes. She took Samuel’s left hand in her right hand and smiled. “Let’s give her some space to work.” She led Samuel back, Samuel tossing his broken sword away as the pair walked.
Black’s tail gave another swish as she glanced back at Samuel. Slimantha and Samuel had just rejoined Mimi and the three glowing slimes. She smiled again and then returned her attention to the still-bound sword elemental. She raised her right hand, and a small orb of inky black appeared at her fingertips. She brought it to her lips and blew. The orb floated away from her, propelled by her breath. It drifted across the space between her and the sword elemental. Then the orb expanded into a floating ring of inky black encircling the sword elemental.
Black blinked. Her tail gave yet another swish. Her lovely brown eyes were on her foe. The ring of inky black began drifting down. The sword elemental stopped struggling. Black smiled as the black ring touched down upon the brown rock beneath the silvery creature.
“Now to end this,” Black said. She took a deep breath. Behind her, her black feline tail swished. She raised her right hand in front of herself. “Burn. Become nothing.” She snapped her right fingers, and the ring of inky black became a black inferno. The sword elemental contorted and thrashed. The black flames ate at its form. In the end, nothing of it remained. It was gone, slime bindings and all.
“Good job!” Slimantha said, stepping up to Black. “You really showed that pointy jerk.” The slime summoner smiled. “And look. You made the slimes happy.” She gestured at the three glowing slimes that were bouncing about again. She got a smile from Black.
“Yes, good job,” Mimi said, also congratulating Black. She stepped up to Slimantha and Black. Her eyes then went from Black to Slimantha. “We still need to get out of this cavern though.” She pointed up at the overhead trapdoor, the overhead trapdoor that was still closed, with her right hand. “Think you can handle that.”
Slimantha looked up, her beautiful brown eyes going to the referenced trapdoor. Then she blinked. Her gaze went to Mimi’s face, and her brown eyes met the golden eyes of the mimic. “I’m on it,” she said. Viscous blue materialized at her back, forming a pair of wings.
“Wait a moment,” Samuel said, walking up to the three women. His blue eyes were on Slimantha and her slime wings. “You can fly?”
Slimantha blinked and then turned to Samuel. Her brown eyes met his blue eyes. She then gestured at her slime wings. “Obviously,” she said. Then she blinked. “I mean I summoned slime wings. What do you think slime wings are for? Think, Samuel. Think. What do you think slime wings are for?” She leaned toward Samuel, her face close to his face.
“F-Forget I asked.” Samuel pulled back, his cheeks slightly flushed. His blue eyes drifted down to the slime summoner’s lips before he looked away.
Slimantha stretched her arms and slime wings. She then glanced up at the overhead trapdoor. Her lips formed a smile. “I’ll have that trapdoor open in a moment. I’ll carry you guys up afterwards.” Her gaze then went to Samuel. “Is a princess carry alright with you?”
“P-Princess carry?!” Samuel’s face went red. He gulped, and then his blue eyes met Slimantha’s brown eyes. “That is fine.”
