After feeding the slimes in the early morning, I headed toward the six o’clock hole. These past few days have been hectic, but it’s time to continue looking for a way out of this place.
Almost similar to the results of the three o'clock hole, it took half a day for the mana wave from the radar spell to reach the end of the path. The difference was that the path was pretty much straightforward and connected to what I assume is a large area. I'm not sure if it's connected to open air or another cavern as big or bigger than this one. But one thing's for sure: it's far, about 20-30 km away with a steep climb, which is more than double the distance between the three o'clock hole and the surface.
My plan for escape for now is to break rocks following the shortest—time-wise, and lengthwise—path with the least risk of being buried alive. Therefore, the three o’clock hole and the six o’clock hole are definitely out of the equation.
I know I’m magically gifted and all (not bragging), but it will take me a year or two to create a safe tunnel covering those lengthy distances. Digging above is a no-go as I don’t even know how much distance I need to cover or what kind of earth I need to deal with. Yeah, getting trapped in an earth bubble after a tunnel collapse would be a hilarious result, but I'd literally die. So... no.

Bad thoughts aside, all the nuts in the nuts field are sprouting. Granted, it’s not that many nuts to begin with, but what are the chances? I was expecting that out of the remaining 25 blue nut patches, 10 yellow nut patches, and 5 red nut patches, only about 50% of them would be sprouting. But to think it'd be all of them!
Is it due to the soil that I’m planting them on? Or is it due to the water from the well that I used to water them every single day? Or… is it due to the humongous mana heart that’s in the middle of this cavern’s roof?
Yeah~ It’s probably due to the soil and the water. I mean, in passing, I have read a lot of academic research publications about applying mana heart to accelerate plant growth, but nothing actually succeeded yet. There was one that almost succeeded, but the plant turned into a monster, so… Wait. Does that mean my nuts will turn into monsters when they’ve grown?
I want to check if that will be the case, but my current tools aren’t exactly used for magic research either. I guess that can wait, the nuts just sprouted after all. I’m going to sleep now.
