Day 7

After spending the night using radar spell covering up the whole cavern, I found out the air holes where the slimes came from. It was a little air hole in-between the three o’clock hole and the twelve o’clock hole, a little distance away from the makeshift toilet. I am calling it the slime hole for the purpose of this journal.

When I was with Blue Canary, there were two main ways to deal with a hole in which monsters came out from:

1. Plug them.

Following this, I, of course, plugged the slime hole using earth and stone as soon as I discovered it at dawn, and left to take a nap. However, the plug was undone once I woke up and found several slimes roaming the field (which I killed swiftly).

2. If plugging is not possible, bait the monster out to eradicate them.

I tried to agitate the slimes by using the modified radar spell, purposefully sending a long mana wave into the hole. It took me a couple of hours for the first slime to come out, but they came out indeed.

The narrative has been taken without permission. Report any sightings.

And by ‘indeed,’ I mean an endless lot of them. The rate at which the slimes came out of the hole is like trickling water—once I’m done dealing with one of them, another is already out, ready to take its place.

It took me a whole day of stabbing slimes repeatedly to realize that the slimes are never going to stop coming. And by that point, I just dug a big, deep trench along the wall to receive the slimes, engraved a slippery spell on its sides to prevent the slimes from getting out, and called it a day. The trench is 2 meters wide and five meters deep. Its length, following the shape of the wall, covers about a quarter of the distance between the three o’clock hole and the twelve o’clock hole.

The slimes are, by no means, endless. Even tonight, I can still hear the trickling and popping sound they make as they come out of the slime hole.

Sluuurp pop~! Sluuurp pop~!

What a nightmarish sound echoing this whole cavern tonight…
