I started the day with a quick soak in the newly constructed bath. It was cold, but it did its jobs wonderfully, so… nothing to complain about.
Today marked the fourth day I let the nut plants overgrow from its usual harvesting time. I harvested one plant each from the three nut species to check if anything changed, and it sure does.
At first glance, the nuts per plant count become fewer than their usual quantity. Not sure exactly how, but I assume it’s related to the changes in their taste and appearance.
The red nuts became smaller, redder with spiciness level double than usual.
The blue nuts became semi-transparent, like a little piece of dried slime, and tasted colder than ever.

The yellow nuts became somewhat crystallized to the point that I could have mistaken them for a sugar rock, if I didn’t know any better.
With so many changes in four days, I wonder what changes will occur to my nuts in the next three days*… Looking at the samples, I assume they will have fewer nuts per plant, becoming more concentrated, and their taste will become much richer. But I’d bet there’s still a chance they will get ruined or stay relatively the same as today's samples… Either way, I don’t feel the need to worry about this nut batch anymore as my food stock could last me for several months at this point with the slime trench, the stocked smoked pigs and the ridiculously short-harvest time of cherry tomato plants. In which, for the record, I also harvested five more pots today.
I saved the newly harvested cherry tomatoes, and today’s nut samples for tomorrow. I think it’s about time I created a new batch of fruit wine… My thirst for alcohol is starting to build up again with this much juicy fruit in my hands…
*Regular harvesting time for the nut plants is every seven-eight days.
