75, To sleep or not to sleep, that is the real question?

Despite more than half the girls getting their [Class]es they were still running around like brats. Although it seemed that they excepted their circumstances much more readily now. Micky was somewhere between their father, their lord and master, and their big bro that wasn’t all that much older than they were. So while they weren’t about to run away any longer they still didn’t respect him, or anyone besides Mrs. Doderson. This was inspite of Prin releasing killing intent when two of the girls used her as a jungle gym while they chased after each other…

Micky didn’t know what to do with them… “Mrs. Doderson, do you mind going out and getting a few things? I’ll also need you to contact these people.” Said Micky.

“No trouble, no trouble at all!” Said Mrs. Doderson as she left

And then the door’s knocker rang. The clang of the bronze knocker rang throughout the house. Micky and Prin turned, feeling an unknown chill climb their backs. They looked at one another, but eventually Prin left Micky to his fate while she rushed for the temporary relief of opening the door.

Ahh, it was the neighbors. “Hello! We were just wondering, when you were going to celebrate your daughters’ divination. Oh, and we brought rice pudding!” Said the first, with similar things from the second and third…

Micky had been planning on only a small celebration between him and his new gals, but apparently the neighborhood had heard, and wanted in. It was probably a good thing anyways, with everybody being stuck in town, they needed a celebration to keep spirits up.

This was growing too large, and he had even invited a couple of people himself like Mathew and Meril, and Most definitely… Is that Yolanda?... Oh, so that’s where the chill was coming from… Why was he getting chills?

Yolanda walked up to Micky’s door and looked at him pointedly. “Why was I not told?” She asked plainly but sternly.

“Wha… What?” Said Micky, still quite confused.

“Why wasn’t I told I had grandbabies? Why wasn’t I told about their divination! Why wasn’t I invited to their celebration?!” Said Yolanda, his other neighbors already making themselves scarce from the scariest gossip in town.

“*Cough* Why don’t you come in master, I see you got the invite I just sent out not that long ago...” Micky decided, he had to put all this food into the icebox downstairs anyway. If his neighbors were going to force an invite on him, they were going to want to see their food on his table… So they could battle it out in a food war!

Prin and the brats greeted the old bat while Micky went down to the basement. This place was interesting as it gathered some small amounts of mana, so quests to exterminate monsters that moved in were common. Although most families considered it a boon to have monsters move in, because they could have their children exterminate them. The neighbors might even sell the right to exterminate them to other neighbor’s kids for a favor or two as well.

The walls of the ice chest were reinforced with mana making it a small dungeon. However, a dungeon of this size and strength with no base monsters won’t grow, and will even eventually die should it be left alone. Unfortunately, even though this house had been left alone for a while, it appeared that there were no monsters for the kids to cut their teeth on, shame.

Micky could still probably bring them down to a shallow area of the crawl though, but first he would need to bring up their [Proficienfy]s to where he felt they could actually beat up a gob without [Dead]. That would be just his LCK…

Micky came back upstairs to find Yolanda gushing over all the kids, even the ork girl was blushing like the little girl she was… and then she would admonish or chastise Prin on the other side of the sentence… Micky thought he needed to do something downstairs… Definitely needed to do something downstairs… It’s too late! He’d been spotted!

Abigail walked up to him and grabbed his hand… It was too cute. Wait no! He saw that vicious smile underneath! You cruel, cruel little girl!... But he forgave her.

Micky walked up to Yolanda and gave her a greeting. And Yolanda in turn stared Micky in the eyes. “You need to prepare boy.” She said, as serious as she could and with all the power her gaze could hold. “There will be a battle, many will fall. And you must win! This is a battlefield. Now, when is this celebration?” Yolanda said.

“I was planning on having a little gathering at the end of the day… but I don’t think it’s going to be a ‘little’ celebration anymore. So maybe three days from now?” Said Micky. He knew that he would have to spruce the place up a bit if he was going to have a large celebration here.

Yolanda nodded at that, it could work. Things seemed to be getting out of hand for the boy, but as his master she had a job to prepare him for the rigors of life. The fact that she seemed to be glowing because she was unconsciously channeling mana was of no consequence…

Mrs. Doderson brought back news and the groceries that Micky had asked for. Mathew had gotten stuck in the city with everybody else, but he would be on night shift today, so he couldn’t make it. Micky told her that he had to reschedule the thing for three days from now anyway. Then she too glowed as she prepared for battle, only more figuratively… And Micky was pretty sure she was releasing some kind of maidly killing intent…

A few of the others showed up for the impromptu dinner that Micky was having for his charges. Though he himself felt that they were becoming more his daughters than his retinue or staff. But having grown up with seven brothers and sisters he didn’t mind having a few brats running around his home, it even made him relax more.

“Can we invite the other kids from the orphanage too? We’ve never had a celebration before. The matron didn’t allow us to throw a party.” Said Terra.

Micky had to nearly wipe tears from his eyes. “Yes, sure, we can invite them. I even think I may have something special for them...” Micky said, and he had a bit of a plan as well. If his evil scheme worked out well, then maybe he could do more than he could have before.

The party lasted into the evening and then some. Meril ended up taking a room to herself and her new boyfriends, after goosing Micky a few times ‘accidentally’. Most of the others left but Prin had apparently gotten herself a boy toy as well. He had also gotten promises of return visits from most of them for when he celebrated in three days.

But when he was about to go to bed, Mrs. Doderson grabbed his shoulder and locked him in a room with a desk… One that he hadn’t even known about till now…

“You, my lord, still have work to do. We have to plan accordingly! Obviously it will be potluck, but we need to prepare our own dishes. I can cook a few things, as a maid I was trained to cook should my master need something when the kitchens were closed or busy. I would also recommend that we train one of the girls as well. Maybe the ork or the wolf. The ork girl because orks are known to be gluttons, and the wolf girl because her nose would make for an excellent cook.” Said Mrs. Doderson.

“I don’t plan on forcing them down any path, or at least not yet anyway. And I don’t appreciate the division by race.” Micky said a little coldly.

“Oh, how cute you are. So are you saying the ork girl and the wolf girl should get the same treatment and meals that the other girls are getting? What about the two elvin girls?” Said Mrs. Doderson.

“Of course!” Micky yelled. “And don’t you dare do otherwise...” Micky said a little quieter but just as forceful. Mrs. Doderson just smiled at him.

“So your saying, that despite the fact that orks eat two times the amount of others at this age, and three times that once they reach puberty she should have her meals shrunk to that of the others? And the wolf girl that is a carnivore should be forced to eat grass like the rest of the girls? And finally speaking of grass, the elves themselves while omnivores, require a diet of at least six parts of ten vegetables to meat or they get gastrointestinal problems should they eat too much. This is inspite of the high elves themselves preferring meat dishes to vegetable dishes, and that the best ratio is eight parts in ten. That was an interesting visit from elvish diplomats, though they quite enjoyed themselves in spite of the circumstances....” Said Mrs. Doderson, dipping into her memories at the end there.

Micky was taken aback. He hadn’t realized that there was much difference between the races, though it did make sense that they would have different requirements. However he still didn’t want to treat the girls different, or segregate them.

Mrs. Doderson said “I understand, I won’t treat the girls differently from each other as best as possible. However, the girls themselves are different. I would recommend that we start with training the ork girl Firstblood for her inevitable natural bloodlust right away. She will most definitely have a [Bloodrage] when she reaches puberty and that can’t be that far away. She is a little girl, and girls mature faster then boys do… and female orks tend to grow stronger then males as well, though they still have the same system stats.

I am just glad that we rescued her from that dreadful place before she had her first [Bloodrage]. Who knows what they would have done. They might have even… No, I shan’t even think of it. Anyway, I don’t think there are anything to special or off that we need to address with the other girls races. Though we should have special training for BrightFur. What they have done to her is absolutely dreadful.”

Micky could only agree, which made his secret plan all the more important...
