65, The third midlife crises

Micky quickly exasperated the little tiff that the [Antolion]s were having with the zombies. Thus causing the ants vs zombies to go into an all out war. This relieved the pressure on the adventurers immensely. But the teams knew they had to rejoin the larger group soon because they would not be able to fight a protracted battle from the flank.

Prin knew this, and she knew what to do. So Princess Antonav Zamboski, the uncrowned queen of carnage charged. Micky helped her get into the mood with his own [Enrage] but his did not have the flavor of her own heritage [Bloodrage]. This skill was a heritage skill of the orks and their namesake skill. Any ork, or half, could gain the skill. And where Micky’s [Enrage] was like the greatest natural rush her own bloodrage burned.

So now she was at a crossroads. But the orks did not cross roads, they raided everything, so she charged ahead, oh she shouldn’t have done that. Enemy! She smashed down with her metal stick slicing an ant in two. Another tried to attack her while she was smashing but she simply backhanded the thing into the zombies who quickly swarmed the ting.

Me smash, so Prin mash good with both hands! Hmm, feelin’ not righ’ in the righ’ an’. Oh, metal stick still der’. Prin waved dat stick at em’. She only mashed two, and the rest ran back. But she mashed em’ good with her other hand. Then the cooling waters of [Charm] came in and cooled her jets just a little. She had gone too deep into her orkish heritage.

She was surrounded now, but the rest of the teams were charging in to rescue her. However, waiting while surrounded was no the best tactic. She needed to keep charging through. Besides, these beasts here fast anyway, like giant flees leaping around. She continued to charge through the flank. But this time with a coordinated effort. The [Antolion]s were smart though, they would dodge back and try to charge into her as she charged forward.

But this time she had not overextended. She easily brought the weapon back and sliced through five at once. The rest of the ants retreated. They had a never ending zeal, but they weren’t stupid. They charged at her from both sides at once. So Prin just charged ahead. Now they were all behind her. With a spinning maneuver she slashed out. But this time they were ready for it and the majority dodge back in time. Majority and all were two different things however, and she got one more.

The blood pressure of the ants must be up, however. Because they were starting to charge her with more zeal. Prin was getting more scratches and having to dodge more. Which was of course, when Micky gave more lucky lucky vroom vroom juice. So me smashed out, not caring for scratches. And me charged em down, grabbing one in her right hand. She smashed it’s head into the ground band that not give gud squishing. Only give green satisfaction coming down it’s skull.

So she smashed it again, but that still not enuff. So she used that ant as a flail. The other ants seemed apprehensive and to be even more pissed. They charged wildly while also being careful of the ant carcass in her right. But the real weapon to fear was the matal stick in her left. It didn’t matter which way it hit, it sliced or smashed. But the ants charged that side with more zeal than ever.

Prin continued her one woman charge into the flanks towards the other adventurer group. It was only several paces away. But several paces in ant infested territory. That was when the other adventurers gave a great push. Prin smashed out and the segregated group, opening up the path, and Micky’s group charged through the gap that was created. The sudden corridor reduced the monster group’s momentum.

Prin felt those cool calming waters again. Both of Micky’s skills were amazing. The cool flowing waters were like a nice bath, that also massaged her whole body. They caused the acks she had to relax, even though they didn’t actually feel any better. Prin let that feeling wash over her and counter the burning flame of her ancestral [Bloodrage].

This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.

However she couldn’t truly luxerate in the calming waters for long. She had work to do! So she swept out with both her weapons. Which is when she realised she had been carrying an ant for the past however long. The thing was deader than [Dead] but it’ll do. After smashing through the group she launched her ant weapon like an impromptu missile. This actually worked out better then she though, since the ants actively worked to catch the carcass.

Prin decided to capitilize on their comradery and when she found another ant within grabbing distance she smashed the ants with that one two. Then a water globe smashed into an ant charging her other side. She would have simply gained a new scratch but it was helpful nonetheless. Then she received a [Heal] from the healer. This made all her booboos less booboos.

Prin repositioned herself into the quickly forming extermination squad for the cut off monsters. The other battle line had been drawn and now it was time to finish off this group. So she stepped back and harried the ants as they charged in with they fast passed attacks. But they weren’t anything close to skilled, she got four to counters.

When the battle lines were finally in position and this group had been securely separated they marched forward. Prin took a bit of a charging stance and dove into the group regularly, but she followed Micky’s direction with his [Charm]s and [Enrage]s. This group wasn’t anywhere near as taxing as charging through the monsters had been. And she may have let her bloodrage get the best of her if she were to admit to herself.

But the stragglers had been mopped up soon enough and it was time to go after the main group again. So Prin quickly turned herself around and go into the battle lines. Arrows and spells and spears and all sorts of ranged weapons dove and fly over her head in formation. They almost looked alive with all the skills that were activated on them to make them deal more DMG.

Prin saw a spear dive through an ant like a sparrow diving into the brush. Then it would dive back out only to dive through another ant. The first ant kept on fighting as if nothing had just pierced through it’s chest. Only to collapse suddenly before she could finish a swing. She quickly corrected herself into a block to hold off another three ants.

Prin saw that the upward end had finished off their own segregated group of monsters. It was now time for another push to separate and kill. Prin was only more than happy to oblige. She charged out feeling the rush of Micky’s [Enrage] flowing through her veins. Pumping her blood haze caused by [Bloodrage] through her body with every beat of her heart. Really she should just lock that man in a cage so she could have him cast this magic constantly. But she quickly dispersed that thought, she could lock up Micky later, she had ants to squish.

This end was smashed through just as quickly as the first time, maybe even quicker. And now it was time for the other end to do the same. This tactic quickly decimated the rest of the monsters till there was only a small group left. This group was still having a personal war between the ants and the zombies. But Micky’s calming [Charm] flowed through people, reminding them that they shouldn’t charge headless into the melee.

Finishing off the ants was systematic and clean. With no casualties on this end. The group found their wayward healer comforting the casualties that the other six groups had from before. But everyone knew they had to get a move on.

“I am Antwan Denovavich the fifth, son of Antwan Denovavich the first! I order you all to protect me till we reach the instructors!” Said a nobody that literally everyone ignored. He continued to make complaints but he did eventually realize that he had never even gained the crowd. Of course this just made him stew in his own thoughts.

*Clap Clap Clap* A golden haired man with muscles and a shining bronze set of armor stood out from this impromptu round table. He wore no helmet so his piercing blue eyes could be seen. He said “We need a plan, as I’m sure you all have seen, there is a highly aggressive monster. We need a leader to take charge. So we can move as one!”

“Shut up goldy! We need to break up and move separately. Confuse em’ till we get to the instructors and tell em’ what's going on.” Said another. Funnily enough she also had golden hair, piercing blue eyes, and a bronze set of armor. If she didn’t wear a bronze helmet she might have looked like his female twin.

“Look, no leaders, except what we already have in our parties, and we move as a group. We can’t afford to separate out or lose our heads. This isn’t the test anymore, this is something weird. That’s normal for dungeons but not something on this level and not for a test. We should keep on the move before more of those things show up.” Said another voice.

“Actually this isn’t that abnormal for dungeons. It happens all the time.” Said one more voice in the crowd.

“But it wouldn’t be something like this if they were just letting us cut our teeth now would it?” Said the first disambiguous voice. When they were met with assent from the vast majority all eight parties moved out as one. They were going to charge this dungeon and damn the consequences.
