Splitting up Mags and squishy moved to either side of the stage. Micky moved into a crouched position to dodge. He had never faced a mind mage before, but who had really? So he didn’t know what the tells would be. All he could do was get ready and hope that one of them could smash his head in… like everybody else had been doing to Micky.
The referee looked at Micky awkwardly as he prepared to sprint towards his opponent. He just shook his head and gave up on the mage. After both parties signaled that they were ready and neither one proactively started casting anything the referee called for the start. And then everything started to go wrong.
Mags was [Mind Spike]d first instantly going down clutching her head. Squishy propelled itself toward the mage like a gellotanis missile. But that didn’t prevent it from being [Mind Spike]d with a look. This left Micky to chase the mage down, who until this moment had just been standing in the dirt circle of a ring.
Micky dodged out of the way of his look. This gave a CD of a second till another [Mind Spike], at least that is if he actually sent the invisible projectile out in the first place or that was the actual cooldown and not a feint.
This left Micky dodge rolling around the ring from just a look from the other mage’s eyes. Which of course, caused everyone and everything seeing it to laugh including the other mage. But Micky didn’t care. He knew that he couldn’t take a hit and continue. A mind mage was a mage killer. Their [Mind Spike] caused a silence effect on whoever they cast, though it wouldn’t affect things without a mind, or warriors…
When Micky finally did dodge roll close enough to attack the mage, mostly because said mage was getting tired of Micky’s clowning around, he locked eyes with Micky. Now, certain female viewers of this fight might have strange thoughts of what’s going on. They might be thinking that the two combatants were sharing a moment, that their thoughts were linked, that at that moment the two had become one and were intrinsically linked in a way that could not be expressed in words. They would be right.
As the mind mage penetrated deeper into Micky’s mind Micky’s thoughts and memories flashed through his head. An example would be an example of this exact situation happening in his favorite scroll series about the Harold Of Justice! It did not go like this, it did not go like this with the harold at all. Micky’s thoughts about everything were flashing through his head. He was not locked out of his thoughts or mind, but locked in.
He saw different thoughts that came up in his mind. Things about the fight, like his tactics. These were then crossed out on by one as they flashed by and failed. Even his current tactics and how to get out of this flashed by in his mind. It was literally the opposite of every comic he had seen on this situation. But that wasn’t all. Micky’s mind was not focused on one thing or even just a few things. He had multiple thoughts going on at any one given time, especially now. So of course, those thoughts were the ones that came to the forefront and smacked into the invader.
One of the thoughts that flashed across Micky’s mind was a particular thought he had about Prin. It was a thought about wanting to have relations… ok it was in the privacy of his own mind, so he attempted to sensor the thought but instead played both across his mindscape. A giant increasing thought about how he wanted to screw the woman hard. Only she was with three participants, and all of those participants were him…

But it was because that thought came across his mind he had more thoughts about the different people he love to have relations with. Merry the alchemist for one, the receptionist, and several other girls in his day to day. But of course why would that rain of thought end there? No it went into darker areas like thoughts about his girls, Mrs. Doderson, or Yolanda. Micky’s mental mindscape shivered as these ‘dark’ thoughts appeared and he tried to push them away. But think of the devil and he shall send out his dark tendrils toward ye.
As the two participants were being assaulted by Micky’s different random thoughts his dark thoughts appeared. Because of course Micky was depressed. He was the outcast of his village for years. The village golden boy and ticket to fame was his bully for years. He hated himself, and it would not be the first time that he wanted to kill himself. Some of these dark thoughts were simple things like ‘fuck fuck fuck’ or ‘I hate myself, I hate myself’ chanted repeatedly like some kind of dark mantra. Others were more convoluted, like intricate plans of suicide so that they wouldn’t implicate or harm his loved ones. Ways that everything would be settled best. Others were things he hated himself for, like dark thoughts of Susan or Pinky’s mom or whatever he couldn’t bring himself to except about himself.
The dark had risen and it was hungry for it’s due. So Micky and the mind mage were washed in the darkness. Micky was stuck there for a time, in the dark, absorbed by it. He reveled in the darkness of his own mind. He curled up into a ball and chanted a mantra of ‘I hate myself, I hate myself, you don’t deserve to live’ over and over to himself as the darkness settled in like a blanket. It showed him images of his past, things he hated himself for no matter how inconsequential, things he had never done, things he wanted to do so bad but hated himself for wanting them. It was like a sick twisted movie. Only the images ranged from putting that frog in Susan’s bed, to making a joke about Pinky’s dad before Micky knew he was [Dead], to the things he truly regreted to this day. And of course, the creme de la creme, the piece de resistance was his divining. The day he had become a [Pink Mage].
He hated that day above all others. He had been so excited and nervous. Micky wasn’t sure which was worse, the nervousness or the finality that came when he was done. When he was finally proclaimed a [Pink Mage]. The entire village laughed at him. Then the old hag threw the first stone. She kept it in her palm incase there was something uncouth like a [Witch] in the divining. Micky would have preferred that, at least he could fight back and defend himself. No he was chased out with stones, and his own parents apologized to the village for bringing him there before them. They had defended him sure, they did afterwards too. They encoursaged him and tried to get him to play with friends. But they had apologized to the town for his existence and ‘bringing bad luck’. Micky know knew it was a nervous reaction to the whole thing. His parents were embarrassed too and disappointed. But it had still happened.
So Micky curled up into a ball and wrapped himself in his darkness for a while. But eventually, it was over. And Micky stretched himself like he had just woken up from a bad dream. His mind cleared somewhat and he flew his avatar? I guess that was what you would call it. Maybe you would call it a mental projection, but Micky thought avatar sounded cooler even though he didn’t really have one. He was just a presence of self, an existence, in his own mind. He looked at all the stray thoughts floating around and willed them to clear away. And they did. Though they were simply in the background of his mind instead of floating in front of him. But that reminded him that he had a fight to win and girls to impress. Or at least a fight to not lose too badly again and get laughed at.
Micky looked around for the mind mage, maybe he was already in the infirmary. But then why was he still stuck in his mindscape?
