50, you enter your second mid-life crises... ambitious aren't you?

After the Dee, Dumb guards left Micky and Prin just sat in his room. They eventualy found themselves having slept together. Well if by together you mean Prin and Squishy stole the bed and Micky was left hiding in a corner in a huddle of blankets.

Neither really wanted to go back to sleeping separately when they had just been abducted and tied up. It didn’t matter if they were ‘allies’. Prin of course was only slightly better, however her [Oath] was flaring up. Micky and Prin both knew there was nothing to be done, but there was nothing in her oath about ‘Try you best kid and get a participation trophy!’.

Morning came, and with Prin’s [Oath] acting like the morning bell she woke up first even before Micky. She enjoyed tormenting Micky awake slowly. First she took a goose down feather and put it under his nose. He started twitching from that. Then she flipped it around and started using the pointy end to poke him. This gave him goose skin all up and down his body. She was about to drop Squishy on him, who was more then happy to participate, when he finally woke up.

Micky eyed Prin, Prin eyed Micky. She dropped Squishy on his groin. *Geho, geho!* Micky coughed out so hard the air in his lungs felt like it was solid. He keeled over to protect his groin. Well, looked like he wasn’t going to be pandiculating today.

“Hmph, you’re no fun! I had so much planned!” Said Prin. Micky just sweated, if a Squishy to the groin was her idea of mid level torment, he did not want to see what she was cooking up for later.

“Alright I need to get my clothes and change, and so do you. Then we need to go get a bath. You still stink from yesterday. Being passed out and abducted is no excuse for poor hygene!” Said Prin. Micky just nodded along, still working off ‘waking up’.

----------------------------------------

Micky and Prin arrived at the field. The instructors, not satisfied with yesterdays torment, have decided to change things up again. Something told him that this was going to be his life. Was he receiving a divine revelation from author-sama? (No sama, I’m a sub too, even if I don’t want to be. The whipped life is the sign of a ‘real’ man! *cries*)

They had decided that the first thing was to see what the class’s weight limit was first. This of course was a competition, that’s how they get you. Then they announced that there was going to be a several mile long hike with twice that weight. Micky’s thoughts were if my weight limit was already set at half that, how am I supposed to hike?!

So now Micky and the class were traveling through the low forest. This was the low ranked forest, though since both forests were one forest this was also called the north forest. Though really it came out more to the north east.

Of course things immediately went to shit. The first wave of slimes were ‘nothing’ and by that it means that they beat down the class while also not doing much damage. It didn’t help that half the participants were crawling.

So it was down to the participants that were up and mobile to protect the rest of the group. Of course those that strayed from the line to protect themselves were struck down by the teachers themselves. This was because they would be ‘stabbed in the back’ should they do it in a party. Of course, it was probably more that they just didn’t appreciate the behavior and wanted to uproot it early.

Adventurers were all about solidarity. Even the shitty ones. This was because you wanted to have one person, at least, that did not want to stab you while you were doing a mission. Because the monsters would stab you, the bandits would stab you, the terrible backstabbing teammates would stab you, even the guards would occasionally stab you. Especially if they were working with, or for, the bandits trying to stab you.

So, having people you could trust, unless they were one of the people trying to stab you, was a very important thing for adventurers. Of course Prin held the line, and while Micky was stuck crawling he could still cast like most of the mages. He was glad to see that the healer that had defeated him wasn’t able to both crawl and cast at the same time.

Micky had thought about using [Enrage] to help him lift and move. However, overtaxing that ability in combat could mean literal death. He had felt the strain when he first tried it, and quickly cleared the ability. Although he used it on Prin, he didn’t dare use it on anyone else. This got approving nods from the instructors as they understood that if you weren’t used to the strain it would hurt you more than help. However his fellow classmates did not understand that and though he was holding out for his party members. Micky did spread the [Accelerate] though.

The next wave after slimes was wolves. This time Micky did use [Enrage] on his fellows as well. But he would warn them to be careful of the strain and also quickly [Cleanse] them of the buff. This actually weeded out the weeds from the chaff more than the training so far had. This was because after the quick flare of the buff to help the combatants Micky would then cleanse the buff. This then allowed the classmate to realise what they had actually done and feel the slightly torn muscles. Obviously it wasn’t a good feeling after having just reached such a high. So the ones that couldn’t understand went towards the right flank of the group while Micky was on the left.

The healer quickly left, but another took their place. This was a nature type healer and would quickly HOT up any classmate that Micky buffed. Of course, Micky himself wasn’t enough to separate the class into high and low level, there were plenty more buffers after all.

What Micky found the most aggrieving however, was that the added weight actually made dealing some DMG easier. One strike was all it took, and he now had a ‘Heavy Strike’. Of course he was still crawling around so there was that.

However the must interesting Monster was probably the [Fear Fantom]. It was a phantom type opponent. However it was still corporial. These were basically living shadows. However they were constantly screaming and causing the [Fear] state debuff. But Micky quickly took care of that with [Enraged]. Actually, because the [Enraged] state completely negated the debuff it could be said that it wasn’t even a worry for his flank. On the other hand the right flank was completely falling apart. The teachers were stepping in but it was still a mess.

For his part, the left flank was destroying these monsters like the tissue paper that they were. Although they were a monster of the medium rank forest, there weren’t all that strong. Or actually, they were a [Base] ranked monster that was a one trick pony.

So while the teachers still came over to help on the left flank it was only the right flank that was having issues. It was actually kind of funny to watch the people of the right flank try to crawl away from the phantoms. Of course Micky was actually crawling towards the battle. Prin had already gone ahead, stacked up on enraged as she was. With the natural battle lust she had built up the [Enraged] stacks were almost unnecessary, almost.

Micky would cast [Enraged] on whoever he would come across and they would slowly lose the [Fear] effect. It was also kinda funny to watch, as they would be running or crawling away, only to slowly stop and their face would just say ‘WHat the heck was I running for?’. It was priceless.

As Micky approached the battle lines of the right, they would stabilize. There was another buffer that could cast a similar enraged spell and he and Micky shared a look. The one went to one end of the field while Micky went to the other. After casting the [Enraged] buff on enough of the mobile DPS the battle lines quickly stabilized. The DPS then congratulated each other on a good fight, and berated the buffers for not casting them sooner. Micky and the five others that were stuck on [Fear] removal duty just rolled their eyes. When the DPS got to screaming at healers for not [Cleanse]ing them fast enough the healers stated they had lost their [Heal] privileges. This tempered their righteous furry pretty quick.
