Book 4 Chapter 4

Book 4 Chapter 4

Robin groaned as Techno was nearly off his machine trying to get him to talk.

“YOU TOLD ME TO WORK ON IT SO AT LEAST GIVE ME A VISION!” he shouted with uncommon intense irritation.

They had been at this for almost 30 minutes but Robin had not received clear visions, instead it was building up slow and difficult.

“What the fuck are you thinking about to delay you?!” He asked.

“How to help the parasite victims.” Robin replied, losing his patience.

Techno paused, “And you know?” He asked.

“I know the process required but not the method to do it. It’s 100% requires the usage of either a psychic or mental development technique so with my sister needing it immediately for her safety and ours I am focused on that.” Robin finally says and sits down and tries to focus.

With a deep breath and actually tries to focus on the technology after this and the reaction causes an increase to what was very slow to build as it drops the other bits.

The vision starts at the base and starts to build the basic history.

A year after the time incident, with the destruction of the super computer, Techno obtains a new one and rebuilds a single network of towers in another city. The result is that the AI was able to reform. She possesses a Digital core and that was shot into the internet and reformed meaning she had life force as well.

That said, she wasn’t the same. Oliver and Tristan had been in the digital world when the digital world broke down and died inside. The result was that their immense life force merged with the AI and her core absorbed both of their abilities as well as their life force that was adapted to it.

Because of this, the digital world was able to be rebuilt. From there they used that as a base, much like they use it now, to compensate for the loss of 3 heroes and so many braveman.

Similarly they try to restart the hero academy in the digital realm but besides Robin, the others couldn’t prove or disprove the parasite unlike now, the heroes were in combat so they had not seen it personally.

They did not go after the academies and would be the key point to the fall of the union when so many braveman academies turned against the union.

Within the first 5 years, Techno and the AI discovered the old destroyed digital farm. The master of the living island was alive and protected by the island but the others were not. All the living island hosts were protected by their own islands as well. Once they got them back and the old land, they would go on to upgrade the towers with a discovery that caused Techno’s power to increase immensely as well.

It should be said that Robin sat there nearly an hour focusing while Techno begrudgingly worked from his seat to this point.

Once the design started to form, a pulse ran through the tree and nine points, including the one that triggered the effect, started to form and finally the external appearance was exposed.

His eyes shot open, “I GOT IT!” Robin said.

“Finally.” Techno said.

“I don’t have a blueprint but I have the basic format and shape.” Robin said and had him make a hologram of the current secondary towers. “Alright, make a second model that is 50% larger, also please make a holographic ring that I can manipulate.” He asked.

The new holograms formed and then the important part started, “Let’s see…” Robin muttered as he ran the ring through the hologram and looked several times to adjust and nodded, “Alright, the point I lined here, put the small tower inside the bigger one with the same line overlapping from its own.” He said.

Techno looked and his eyes quickly calculated the position and the small one inside.

“That’s it?” He asked.

“No, run a single line vertically and like Kevin’s gamer space orb. Make sure the bottom is still connected but they are able to open up.” He said.

A small change happened and a line formed before the tower opened before closing again.

“Now do the same thing until there are 10 levels, including the original tower, so nine other layers and each of them should open up with the same number of divisions equal to their position and level.” He said.

This time Techno paused, “Is there a reason for this?” He asked.

Robin was silent as he searched for an answer, the others had seen the result but it was a long time for him to get an answer and only in a single timeline he actually got it. “The construction is known as the Divine Flower towers…” Robin said and explained the history within the first 10 years when everything is still one timeline. “Each separate piece is built like the base tower but it works by synchronizing and amplifying the range of the basic tower. Each level doubles the range but each level drastically improves the data flow through each single tower.” He said.

This time Techno was surprised but now what he was curious about was the discovery that caused his power to dramatically grow.

“I don’t know anything about the form itself but from what I know, after the 5th segment, the digital world became the digital realm and the super computers became massive machines that would connect to that dimension and transport absurd amounts of world power through them. You built immense networks from each supercomputer to the towers causing them to be nearly indestructible because all that power pumped through them.” He said.

“Did it ever cover the world?” He asked.

“Yes, I’m sure you can get the answer easily, multiply 100 meter by 2 until you’ve added up the 10 levels.” Robin said.

“51,200 meters… a range of 51 kilometers for a single tower.” He said.

“Yes sir.” Robin said.

“How long did it take me to reach the 10th level?” He asked.

“With all the things that were more pressing for the first 10 years and then the chaos that followed… the 10th level came online 60 years from now.” He said.

“How fast do you think I can make it?” he asked.

“Don’t know but I just know that the towers only work because of this discovery you make.” he said.

“And…” Techno asked.

Techno frowned and focused again and the focus gathered back to the initial reconstruction of the digital world in one of the processing plants that Techno would build to process extracted minerals.

Despite trying to remove impurities, any metal thrown in will heat up to the point when impurities would gather at the time and instead they would have a moment of static.

“It’s a new metal…” Robin said but paused, “No… a new element. Unique to the digital world. The new metal element is unnoticeable because it’s mixed in with mineral impurities in metal but the reaction it has is that it turns all refined metal into a totally new one by fusing all the impurities into an alloy based around the mineral of highest concentration.” He said.

Robin thought before asking for a connection to the internet as he literally searched up about digimon unique metals and showed it to Techno.

“You’re joking?” he asked.

“Well we are working with a real life digital world so no. Also, this process, I apparently saw it personally so I am sure of what I saw.” he said.

Techno looked and nodded, “I guess I got a formate and material source but I definitely will need to see what this thing is.” He said.

“Make sure to refine the metal inside the digital world.” Robin said.

“Right, you can go back to training then.” He said.

Robin nodded and walked to a platform before returning to the digital world.

Appearing again he snorted, “Techno can be so stressful, I seriously lost my entire afternoon trying to find this.” he complained.

With a sigh he started to focus once more in trying to find how to fully break down the mind and properly train it.

The hypnotized children were honestly in a slump, at least 80% had given up and just ran to their parent’s embrace after they had been freed from the parasite. All of them just wanted to forget but the 20% that were left were at home until they figured something out but they were the ones who wanted revenge and to continue training. They did get basic training equipment to keep up their strength though.

Ruth took it pretty hard but Robin felt she wanted to see the villains bleed.

He had taught Ruth the proper training flows like the club members but still couldn’t return to school.

“Come on! Tell me how to free Ruth!” Robin shouted both to himself and to the flow of memories.

He grumbled and then went to sit down and focused intensely on the psychic growth which made about 20% of the sparks focus into that but the information was still scattered between most psychic related things and only about 5% of what was released was actually the actual technique.

He still channeled his life essence and psychic energy in the proper style unique to himself so it would continue to develop.

With classes being the only thing to take his mind off of it, with training going through, the only thing to change was the constant digital farms expanding and forming large new sections to house and teach. Very soon even the original academy grounds began to undergo changes as the designs slowly meshed into one massive city.

After about a month, the last one was made and what could effectively be considered its own city had taken form.

Robin was called to a massive foundry and within was a huge burning cauldron with metal that was still not melted.

“Kid, can you make sense of these?” Techno asked while different shaped alloy cubes were in front of him.

Robin looked, “That’s Digimetal.” Robin instantly replied without even having time to examine.

“I realize that, do you know how shocked I was when there was a sudden digital anomaly inside the furnace and then chunks of solidified alloy started to bob up.

“Oh…” Robin said and a bit appeared, “You need to increase the heat by another 2,000 degrees of the base material’s melting temperature to keep the alloy properly melted and to properly mold it.” He said.

Techno looked and suddenly the machine revved up the temperature.

When Robin looked, he actually saw crystalline structures within the crucible and as the temperature rose rapidly the metal began to melt again.

As you could probably guess, digital anomalies began to happen as raw mineral and digital metal started to blend and only when the static stopped did Techno try to pull anything out.

A cube was pulled out and it was shiny like a polished mirror.

“What metal did you use?” Robin asked.

“Iron, or specifically it was set to make steel.” Techno said.

Robin looked and picked up the cube and divine power flowed into it. Shockingly, digital scripture formed on its body. “So this is Ferrum Digimetal.” he said.

“Ferrum… oh the latin term for Iron.” Techno said.

“Yeah, this is great for armor honestly.” Robin said and looked at the other alloy and took a golden one. “Gold is obviously one of the best electrical conductors but you should experiment between gold and silver since silver is a better conductor.” He said.

“I know.” Techno said.

“No, I mean, Silver is a better bioenergy conductor. Not just electricity and signals.” He said.

This caused Techno to freeze, “What do you mean?” he asked.

“Well, if this was infused into your body properly, the best place to put it is your lower dantian meridian system, Ferrum digital metal is best to replace your arteries and copper is better to infuse through your nerves. After that you get the gamer space to help balance out your biology between the three systems and you will be able to enhance your triple bioenergy system.” He said.

Techno looked at him in shock that he would even suggest it, “How long into the future is this?” He asked.

“No long actually, after Mephesto died after being hunted down by ‘him’ 5 years from now in the original timeline. You would have already discovered this and had started from the outside in and the energy flow was the last thing you touched after about 15 years of development.” He said.

“How strong does it get?” Techno asked.

“Before the three flows, you were about three times as strong, with the three balancing out your energies you doubled that value. Of course, you didn’t have the gamer space to help iron out the things you don’t understand.” Robin said.

“So I guess I will have to unlock this shit?” he cursed.

“Not really, once everything is infused, the only energy to infuse is Life force which quickly becomes life essence. After about 10 years, you would have discovered a new energy by infusing life essence into your lower dantian which became one of the strongest sources of power to energize your body.” he explained.

He told the same thing about Bio power he told the club.

It made him stop, “Bio power… the power of life driving a biological machine.” he said.

“Yes sir.” Techno said.

“I see… what else are these metals used for?” He asked.

“Well… you can literally make armor and cyborg digital spawns. In the case of Oliver and Tristan’s fighters, helping to rebuild their bodies with this could form immense stimulus and help them evolve further. Using small bits you could make weapons for small ones which could do the same thing. It’s very powerful but I’m sure you can guess.” He said and stopped channeling divine power and put it down on Techno’s seat and the hovering machine chair almost instantly boosted a huge amount of thrust power to keep the chair level.

“It’s heavy.” he said.

“Yep.” Robin said.

Techno lifted it with a kind of tractor beam and put it under a scanner.

“The density increased by a factor of 10 after being fully melted down into an alloy. Armor with this would have to be only for super strength warriors.” He said.

“Or you make weapons with small amounts.” Robin said.

“Right… this is great… The benefits of this new frontier are finally appearing. The others had been growing stronger while I’ve depended on technology but now it will be my blooming.” He said before looking at Robin, “What was with the divine force? It made digital runes appear.

“It simply reacted to it. I remember seeing some very powerful digital spawns who had the same reaction and their bodies would glow when they exerted immense force. Those were memories but the other me thought it was just them using their powers but it was just the natural reaction of the metal it seems.” Robin said.

“I see… Thanks for helping identify this, I will start mass producing this material. I will need to test if this can be made into special materials.” He said.

“It can.” Robin said. “Every last process and refining method we know can be used with them. Processed the same way except just the single difference being that it’s digital metal now. It will be harder if you don’t make machines out of digital metal though, even gold is harder then most of the harder metals on earth.” he explained.

“That will be a problem but one we can work past.” Techno said. He was free to go and like everyday he would focus but after a month, a lot of things had started to fill up and as he focused, at long last, the technique for psychic energy development was fully developed.

Not just the general version but Robin’s own version. He could finally start training it, as well as his Life essence to condense their own cores.

When it completed, his eyes opened instantly and grinned as he rushed to Chasm Might and happily told him.

“That’s great, Esper has only cleared a few children who were new to the processes but not the older ones. Do you know if it will clear it for sure?” He asked.

“Yes, it will crush everything except the conscious but there is one drawback. It doesn’t matter which energy but to train the mental skills, they need an energetic force as sacrifice, in other words, without developed True Qi, World power, Psi Power or whatever infused into the lower dantian, they couldn’t train it because they lacked a fuel and burning psychic energy to develop psychic energy doesn’t work.” He said. “The same is for me, I need Divine force to develop and even the life essence follows the same process of consuming an energetic fuel to develop the body.” Robin said.

“I see… how do we test this?” he asked.

“Do you need tests?” Robin asked.

“The Technique itself no but we need someone who is willing to subject themselves to hearing the hypnosis triggers that Esper has identified to still work.” he said.

“Okay… I think Ruth wouldn’t mind. She hasn’t given up on becoming a hero.” He said.

Chasm Might smiled and pat his disciples shoulder because he knew he worked hard for her, so she could regain her life and dreams.

They called her while Robin wrote and drew out the technique as detailed as Chasm Might’s own technique. Psychic energy was not the same as True qi but the process was different from just the channeling form used to use the energy in combat.

When she arrived at the club room, she was confused why she was called but saw Robin at work.

“Did you call?” She asked.

“Yeah, I finally got it, the technique to develop psychic energy. The process will also help crush all the mental blocks and possibly the hypnosis effects though we aren’t sure if it does completely cure.” He said.

“Why did you call me then?” she asked.

“We wanted to see if you could help us test if all the triggers get undone.” Robin said.

She looked at the file he was working on and nodded before walking in and waiting until he was done and then went read it.

“Wait… it breaks down the mental space?” She asked.

“It shatters everything besides your conscious and subconscious which keeps you alive. Everything else will get constantly pummeled and processed by your true qi and enhanced before it is completely rebuilt from the bottom up.” He explained.

“Does it hurt?” She asked.

Robin smiled, “Yes, it will hurt less and less the more it is done for the time but we also need to wait for the True Qi technique’s more advanced form to take shape but you should be able to do it to advance with Psychic energy.” He said.

She nodded and asked him to explain properly in case she missed something.

Robin tutored her in the technique and how to use it before she sat down and began to channel it.

The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation.

He watched her but he felt a strong waving through their link and the link actually broke. He got naturally worried as he watched but there were waves of True Qi running through Ruth so she was doing it still and then psychic energy rushed and pulsed through her head.

After a while they actually started to hear echoes of bangs and breaking like chains were broken.

The two looked at each other, “It’s like she is literally breaking down walls and chains.” Robin said.

“She probably is and what we hear is her psychic energy just echoing the ‘illusion’ she destroys.” Chasm Might explained.

It continued for quite a while with various levels of fluctuations. Clearly the hypnosis wasn’t as peacefully broken as they assumed it to be. As much as Robin wanted to join in, his link was cut from her side and he couldn’t connect and support her.

After a bit it finally goes quiet and the flow of both energies triple but her face turns incredibly peaceful and even smiles.

The pulsing from the psychic energy grew more intense as they watched until it finally peaked and the link connects and Robin is instantly overwhelmed by the intensity and purity of her Psychic energy. It was like it had gone through ten thousand filters and that tiny extremely pure strand ate every last bit of psychic energy and became a suffocating force.

“Woah.” Robin said, almost collapsing from the pressure.

Ruth’s eyes opened and her eyes were bright and burning with passion she had lost.

After gathering himself Robin asked, “Are you okay?” He asked.

“Great… but the process isn’t peaceful. To break down my mind I had to go against every fear, uncertainty and anything that could be used against me mentally and crush it. Behind each and everyone was the voice of the parasite still embedded into my brain and each one I crushed felt like an entire section of my mind I didn’t know existed unlocked. My mind feels so liberated.” She said.

“System, can you tell what is going on?” Chasm Might asked.

Ruth felt the scan and quickly replied.

Psychic and Hypnotic blocks have been broken releasing mental potential equal to 150 Wisdom

Ruth Harison has successfully surpassed and defeated 62 mental demons which infested her mind with uncertainties and has gained 100 wisdom and 200 intelligence.

As a result of surpassing her mental demons and expanding her mental capacity she has also surpassed biological limits and her brain has started to evolve. Adding 50 wisdom and 50 intelligence will allow the system to aid in the over 300 points of brain evolution.

She looked at her status and smiled because it grew after so long stuck because she wasn’t allowed to train. After adding it there was a large surge of energy from her brain as her brain evolved from all the potential growth and she stopped glowing and stood up.

“My intelligence is now 1:1 to my wisdom and it’s both 850.” She said happily.

“That will really help seeing at high speeds, especially with such a boost you had with Mr Might’s basic physical traits added in.” Robin said.

“So the initial ones were only a 50% boost.” Chasm Might said. “Doesn’t seem wrong, my bloomed traits have a x5 boost and my agility has a x6 boost to my raw stats. Based on the stat correction based on level as well…” Chasm Might said and did the math.

“You’re too strong.” Ruth said.

He grinned, “Of course I am, I wouldn’t have been able to beat Time Tempest’s ass so hard if I didn’t grow so much. You children are no joke either though. Let’s see, that is 3,447 strength, this means a base 34k weight lift capacity then the 0.01% per level, that is 1.75 pushes your raw weight lift capacity to 60k of just raw strength.” He said.

“System, are there modifiers for just channeling Psychic energy, Life essence and True Qi?” Robin asked.

Affirmative

True Qi has a modifier of 0.3

Life Essence has a Modifier of 0.5

Psychic energy has a modifier of 0.2

Note: this is in relation to strength, each energy has different modifiers for each separate stat.

Strength: TQ - 0.3, LE - 0.5, PE - 0.2

Agility: TQ - 0.2, LE - 0.5, PE - 0.3

Dexterity: TQ - 0.3, LE - 0.5, PE - 0.2

Constitution: TQ - 0.3, LE - 0.7, PE - 0

Intelligence: TQ - 0, LE - 0, PE - 1

Wisdom: TQ - 0, LE - 0, PE - 1

“So there is as much as double the effect on each stat? Do they stack or calculate together?” Robin asked.

It is calculated together as one modifier but it only comes into play after the level modifier. So the effect of the stats for Ruth Harison is indeed multiplied by 2

“Does Divine force have a different modifier?” Robin asked.

World Power has the modifier of True Qi, Titan force has double the modifier of True Qi and Divine Force has 3x the modifier of True Qi.

However all energies will achieve the modifier of Divine force because of the immense density it requires to achieve it

“That is a big leap, that would effectively mean a 1.2 boost from it alone.” Chasm Might said.

“That means Robin is running an extra… 1.9 boost on his strength.” Ruth said.

Robin checked his strength and level. “5,091 strength with the trait multiplier and level 200.” Robin said.

“That’s almost 200k kilo.” Chasm Might said.

“Woah.” Robin said.

“I’ll catch up! You’ve had a month ahead of me but I will catch up!” Ruth said.

The two looked and began to laugh because she was so excited. Esper was called and he tested all the triggers and none of them triggered her.

Her happiness could not be expressed as simply cheering because she broke down crying as she hugged Robin because her dreams weren’t ruined because of this.

“How did she break those barriers?” Esper asked.

Chasm Might showed and explained what he heard from Robin.

“So I need to properly generate… what was it called, Psi?” he asked.

“He called it Psi power. It's properly processed chi into psychic energy in your dantain.” Chasm Might explained.

“Child, do you know how to make it?” Esper asked.

“Yes sir.” Robin said and while sitting with his crying sister he showed how to make both Life Power and Psi Power.

Esper put it to practice while Robin watched to make sure he was doing it right and once he got it they all noticed a shift. He was making Life Power first and as you would expect, like Chasm Might, his immense life force began to radiate in response and began to fuse into the blood vessels and blend.

After he had a little bit of both, he stopped, “This will take a while.” He said.

“Yep, you will stabilize in about a week but you will see a lot of growth for months to come.” Chasm Might explained.

“Perfect, with this I can also start to effectively grow efficiently.” Esper said and went to go train.

The news was quick to spread, children affected by the parasites were all told that they found a cure but only those ready to battle their uncertainties and inner demons would be able to completely break away from the hypnosis. They would also need at least one active biological energy to be able to set up and train that.

Many children heard about this and after looking at one another they didn’t want it. Many of them were too fearful to see those things again and decided that they would live a normal life in this digital world away from any possible touch of those evils.

Those that wanted to and had the capacity to use energies started to train again but they weren’t allowed to exert their job in heroics without direct supervision until they could break the hypnosis entirely.

For the psychic students, they were instructed on creating Life Power and Psi Power to both extend their stores of power as well as to prepare for them to train the psychic energy directly.

The same could be said for all students who had mental energy unlocked.

The rest of the year was very careful and along the year, the allied academies began to move into the digital world and in the third quarter of the year they finally hit the academies with the parasites.

When they were pulled into the digital world, they did not come out in the same place, the children were allowed to use the gamer space which caused them to faint and they were transported to a containment zone for the necromancers to carefully kill the parasite’s soul. For the staff, they killed the parasites for those still salvageable but they were killed with hero level locks and in prisons that could hold braveman until they could confirm.

In their paralyzed state with the parasite killed, the system used enough stats to heal them and they will only know true enemies from allies based on their reaction.

They were all alone in a confined room with a hidden camera to watch the reaction.

If they freaked out and cried because of the memories then you would know a victim, if they glared coldly because they were caught, it was obvious who they side with.

As you can probably guess, once all the children were free, the amount of crying was immense. The direct families of all these children were made to move into the digital world while they were at it because unless these children cured their hypnotic triggers they would not be able to safely live in the real world where they were exposed to ‘his’ hypnosis.

To the outside world, it was simply the hero academy uniting all braveman academies to create one massive organization in a secret place.

Only those inside would know. The children were made to keep it a secret obviously and the amount that wanted to remain in heroics could only amount to barely 20% of each academy remained if they could generate a natural energy was unknown however.

There was also a need to comb through the children based on their personality so that bad eggs did not get through.

By the end of the school year, the last braveman academy was dealt with and the American Union heroics was now under the sole training of the hero academy. The amount of space was naturally equal to the allied academies until they could expand enough to match all the academies.

The next year it would also be the year that Judith would enter highschool and she was accepted so the twins were already helping her prepare while also training hard as more techniques were revealed to Robin.

Huff! Huff!

Deep breaths came in the peaceful piece of the demon realm where Mania ruled. Lola was breathing hard as her Devil essence was stuffed. Her contracted demons had spent the year gathering raw life essence by hunting enemy demons that invaded their territory.

This raw essence was left for her and with a year of adapting she entered and absorbed that huge source of life essence, grinding it into devil essence.

“How much do I need to match you?” Lola asked.

Mania smiled, “Don’t worry, you already have about 15% more than me. Although it’s only in energy, once you have twice as much then you can finally summon me.” She said.

“Is my body full?” She asked.

“For the time being, even with your body equal to about 3000 and your constitution already grew to 2,500.” She said.

Lola looked and then thought about something, “How is my constitution only so low but has so much more than you all who are already as strong as heroes who have tens of thousands.” She asked.

“The vitality of mortals is different from what we have.” Yez explained. “Remember, just 1% of your life force could be as much as 10% for an Imp’s capacity. We are just efficient with our power and draw out all the power it can.” Mania said.

“Oh…” she replied.

Lola returned home and opened her status to see.

She thought about how much she could hold, “System, if I added constitution, would that overload my body or would it adapt and increase my Devil Essence?” She asked.

Your body is currently in a momentary overloaded state but there is no danger in adding constitution because your body can handle the evolution.

She smiled and loaded 300 points into constitutions and she felt her body burn up as the stats entered and evolved her body to handle the overflow.

When it was done she collapsed.

Due to adapting your body during an overflow period your other stats have grown. To support the stress which caused additional feedback.

She smiled brightly and summoned Mania, “Can you tell how much Devil Essence I have compared to you now?” She asked.

“You used your stats to further boost it?” She said with a frown.

“The system said it was safe since my strength was higher than my constitution.” She replied.

Lily rolled her eyes and examined her master, “You’ve got roughly 50% more than me now.” She said.

“Yay! That means I’m a short way away! That was 300 points with 160 extra feedback to go from 15% to 50%. Hmm, that means I need at least 3,500 constitutions to finally summon you in full power and merge!” She said.

“Yeah.” Lily said with a smile at her but as she unsummoned herself her face was serious as she looked out in the demon realm. The four mountain space she commanded drew attention because she was just a greater demon as were the others. They were all weak compared to others, if any archdemon were to feel and find them then it would be a disaster.

She felt the demon god bone fragment that her body had absorbed and assimilated.

Her body had purified all of its influence and darkness through her hierarchy over this year and it had infused her body with countless mysteries and powers. “It’s almost time.” Mania said and the generals were serious as they went to guard the territory.

Sitting in his room, Shoji breathed as the three psychic powers ran through his body. From almost downgrading to civilian army to firmly holding his place in the heroics class, the discovery of Life Power and Psi power had once more expanded his potential.

Not to mention that like the others, he unlocked the full 10 stat potential and unlocked a huge amount of potential.

Standing up, his life power surged out and condensed into a blade that radiated the power of life while his psychic energy gathered at the edge and his Psi energy gathered and gave him immense control.

Holding the blade at the ready, his body moved like a blur until he stopped and a current of air moved out and smashed into a barrier at the edge of his control range.

It rang out like the clash of blades constantly despite forming lines where it cut, the psychic blade reached only the outside edge of the barrier and stopped. Not one bit of energy escaped under his control, this was a training exercise he had created after learning to create psychic barriers. By making the barrier and trying to keep his power entirely contained without using excess energy, he trained his control.

His ability had also grown and many psychics as well as students were cautious dueling with him. Even the teachers had to be cautious because he could actually cause serious damage if he hits their emotional shadow.

The degree of damage was totally up to Shoji but when he was forced to kill someone during on duty patrol, he decapitated the guy by chopping the shadow’s head.

It was also the first time he did it because it was a stressful situation like when Robin fought the speedster.

“I can still grow, control is key. Waste will mean I grow weaker first. Remember, skill can outdo talent.” he told himself.

His father looked into the room through the crack and smiled as his child, he only had psychic energy to blossom his ability. As a detective he had become exceptional at interrogations.

He left and Shoji looked at the door, he had sensed his father there and had only just done what he did to show some physical growth but he turned serious as he tossed the sword.

Instantly his life power sword broke down and gathered behind him and slowly took the form of Shiji but looked several years older and looked like he had lived exercising physically.

“Durability… strength… agility… boost!” Shoji muttered and Psychic energy rushed and fused with that hollowed image infusing psychic enhancement.

Psychic enhancement is a type of technique derived from people who’s psychic energy literally focused 100% on enhancing their physical strength. Shoji found this type of thing extremely difficult until he gained the other types of psychic energy.

“Power up.” Shoji said and that image overlapped and was absorbed into him. When he opened his eyes, his eyes had changed from black to green.

His eyes glowed green because once a psychic starts using above a certain amount of psychic energy, it starts to radiate visibly around their bodies. It looked similar to magicians but he wasn’t.

Shoji took a breath before walking carefully around his room and gently grabbed the sword and returned to the middle.

“I finally did it.” he muttered “System… Please analyze the current boost I am getting and display it as a modifier so I can understand how much I am boosting?”

Life Power construct: x2.5 to all stats - constructs are built and innately form enhancement like effects.

Constitution: x1.5

Strength: x1.5

Agility: x2

Note, the values are stacked not multiplying onto each other.

He smiled brightly because this was a massive boost. Esper was the biggest inspiration to psychics and everyone knew he battled with some level of psychic enhancement. For a psychic with poor development in many techniques, learning close range and physical enhancement was the best choice.

Shoji was like a modern samurai in a sense but he was the weakest among his friends. Even Milo’s physical stats have grown through rigorous training alongside his skeletons. The Death mana he had was also very powerful.

Shoji had started to bottleneck at around 1,000 points even after getting biological traits to start enhancing. He had focused on mental traits to improve his usage and control of psychic energy and other times improved mental functions similar to Robin. He had started working on his physical half way through after Robin figured out how to make the other energies though.

With his boosted psychic energy to feed the other two he finally figured out how to boost his physical power.

“This boosts mental factors as well, that’s important.” He muttered. “Times 4 strength and constitution… 1,028 points means a lot, no wonder it’s so weird to move around right now. I need to get used to this and maybe walk around in active duty like this. Training will have to be harder though because this will clearly retract from my physical stress.” he said. “Regardless… I finally succeeded in psychic enhancement where I couldn't before.”

The power slowly lightened and the enhancements were all broken down and he felt his strength return before he felt a bit of pain and groaned, “Guess I’m not as ready as I thought. That light, slow walk exerted so much stress on my muscles and bones. Do I actually need physical body traits?” he muttered.

He didn’t want to depend heavily on traits that didn’t directly build up his natural ability and mental energy control.

Shoji asked if there were physical traits that improved body structure but didn’t affect stats like Robin had done. The result ended up being evolution of bone and muscular structure, it wouldn’t directly make him stronger but the bone’s internal structure would be completely rebuilt so that it could support a significantly higher amount of strength exerted and his muscles would be restructured so that his muscles withstand much greater force being exerted. The direct effect would make his constitution support go from 1:4 to 1:6 meaning 1 constitution could support 6 points of strength.

As for the muscle, it would change how the muscle fibers were intertwined and allow it to support stress without tearing to a much greater extent.

He checked if he would need something else and in the end he also had to enhance his lungs and heart to transport more oxygen because the side effect of the new stronger muscles would consume more of it when he started to exert himself.

The four traits were added and he tried to use the enhancement again and the stress was significantly lower. He tried combining it with the life power construct without extra enhancements and found it much more manageable. A 2.5 increase in power was still a significant increase in power. He tried adding a healing factor enhancement and found that, although it drained his stamina faster, his body's stress would drastically lower since his body’s recovery supported it. That said, it was clear he couldn’t use this for long periods but it was perfect if he ever got himself caught in another major fight.

Milo breathed deeply as death energy came slowly into his body. Around him were five death mage. Each and every one of them he had crafted and built their souls and made them more like monks or spiritual seekers instead of evil like most death mages.

They were trained to form death mana themselves and as you could expect, the immense feedback to Milo was still affecting him. The last year he had actually purchased resistance and affinity traits for death energy because of the huge surge causing more than his body could handle.

He also learned how undead and bone warriors used death mana.

As a member of the living, as soon as he tried, it sent a shock against his life force and instantly his bodies self preservation tactic was to immediately start condensing a force equal in quality to death mana within a week of starting to train physical usage of death mana, his body condensed life essence and the gamer space noticed and helped his body condense it throughout.

Adding the channeling honestly helped his body tremendously because it balanced the aura of death with the energy of life.

Brago and Scar were naturally among the undead who were advanced to use death mana and as you could expect, they underwent big changes and Milo underwent big pressure from the feedback.

Currently he was training the technique Robin had uncovered for mana, or specifical death mana.

The five death mages watched and one of them was working with medicine tools while another was helping by holding a nether flame active at a very consistent amount. The other three constantly infused death mana into the mixture.

“Are you sure you wish to go this route, master?” the one driving the process asked.

“It was the only mortal necromancer medicine that the death mage had. Whether it was the technique you all obtained to train to become a Lich, which had the exact points Robin pointed out was needed to change for a human to become equal to Lich, or the spells and medicines made for mortals.” He said without changing a shade while channeling.

The five skeletons were still worried for their master because what they would do was both a potion as well as a minor necromancer ritual. It wasn’t lethal to the necromancer but it was a dangerous process. It was a process which would more readily allow Milo to access the power from the netherworld and enhance, naturally, his affinity for death energy.

With a nod, they put some special nether world plants, which were far from common, and the concoction began to boil dangerously as the noxious green color slowly turned into a bloody red as the first reactions happened before it slowly turned into an venomous purple but stopped boiling.

A book on the side had all the recipes and they were watching every change and they quickly threw in a paste made of ten different herbs and the nether flame nearly covered the entire cauldron when the intensity was elevated.

The mixture turned bloody red once more and almost spilled before it finally calmed down in a sky blue liquid.

There was a collective sigh before they all stopped and each of them began a cryptic chant which slowly raised five streams of the liquid into the air until everything was out.

The five moved to surround Milo and he knew it would start. The summer would not be peaceful as he prepared himself. He was still extremely far from replacing Vincent as were any other child but out of everyone, he had the most prospect because he literally exploded with growth everytime his undead underwent a major change and he needed to be quick to adapt or he would restrict their growth as well as his own.

The group of liquids moved and reacted to the chanting until it surged at him and Milo screamed in pain as he forced his death mana to channel while his life essence shined brightly to protect his vitality. It reacted greatly to affinity and resistance traits forming an energy field which protected his life while still letting his body absorb this medicine but it burned him from skin to bone painfully.
