The school year soon started up but the official opening of the American Union Hero Academy set off massive waves because of the scale.
First off, it should be said that there were 5 students from every heroics academy that were accepted, how many such schools exist? Hundreds, the heroics division was filled with upwards of 3000 such students accepted but that wasn’t all the students because of Techno, Vincent and the others.
Techno naturally ran the entirety of the technology division and was now responsible for the creation of support items, aka student suits.
That said, this wasn’t the biggest shock despite the size of the technology division being as big as the heroics division.
The most surprising thing was that the school maintained a civilian division but it was very different from anything anyone had seen before.
The reason was because the civilian division was manned and taught by retired police and military teachers. Yep, after quite a bit of planning put into it, the academy would do training for police and military specialists.
The main reason is the NPC class system. Anyone actually marked as an NPC had extreme difficulty growing beyond vigilante if they had no power or a very weak power. That said, the class Combat Trainee for NPC would help them improve their potential and possibly form law enforcement that were at least the strongest among vigilante or weak strongmen, something severely lacking in law enforcement that didn’t involve authorized crimefighters.
The scale of the academy was massive to say the least and recruited thousands to make it function from people with at least strongmen strength but don’t practice heroics or are retired from it.
It gave a lot of incentive for many people honestly but it also brought about a huge competitive scene in the academy because of the limited 30 student elite classes.
At the start it was arranged like normal classes but after the first 2 month test period, the elite classes would be decided and these were manned by the direct bravemen follower or disciples closest to the heroes while physical training was in the hands of Chasm Might, Server admin and Blue Phoenix.
Clubs were not changed but given greatly enhanced facilities. Just like the year prior the students with existing clubs would be allowed to present their clubs to all divisions.
From the reaction of the previous year when it was founded, you could likely tell the reaction to a school regarded as the most elite.
Still, Ruth did join the club because she was also friends with the same childhood group that Robin was and were the few people in the current school she could relax around.
Naturally, with so many new teachers and staff, it gave a lot of room for new clubs to sprout and after the existing clubs had their chance new clubs sprouted like weeds but no one could really take the ‘honor’ that the ‘Civilian Power Research Division’ possessed by having a hero as a monitor.
Of course just like the previous year there were also civilian classes who loved the idea and roughly 30 or so civilians and another 20 tech division students joined the club. From the heroics, there were 8 others who joined and were among the students accepted from their moral compass instead of their powers.
One of them was someone very excited to join because his power was very weak but honestly one of the rarest and most looked out for, healing.
The form of healing was very slow however, it was healing activation via acupuncture. She said her eyes could see the points on a person’s body and her body could release small pulses to feel where damage could be found and by using specialized super thin needles, this pulse can be put into the acupoints and cause them to produce this energy with their biological energy and induce healing through the areas connected to the specific point.
She also said that the reason why she didn’t join the civilian division was because she wasn’t an NPC and because if she jabbed hard enough against someone's body on an acupoint she could deactivate an acupoint temporarily.
She actually tried it on Robin completely making his arm go limp. As you can guess, she was learning martial arts to use this efficiently. However, the interesting part about this is that she hadn’t thought about it until learning about the academy and wanted to join. Server Admin was also her tester and had asked if she could do this and tested it. She was accepted on this basis and after a day Server Admin had actually come with two skill books for her to start training during the summer. Basics of a martial art based on the ‘Touch of Death’, a particular type of fighting style that doesn’t seem lethal but they aim for acupoints in order to kill.
Secondly was a skill book with knowledge of the human energy flow and autonomy which not only contained the system information but also knowledge from ancient chinese medicine that had thousands of years of development to be able to fully understand the human body.
With another weak jab his arm returned to normal showing how scary this can get with skills.
It proved that there was no truly weak power, just not using it properly. She naturally had traits that enhanced it but her power was rare and hard to improve because healing abilities are hard to locate so there were few for the system to reference.
As for why Kevin had yet to reach the 3rd level clearance, that is simply because it was extremely exhausting. They had to build plugs to the levels below and expand but that required a huge amount of energy from all of them meaning kevin, the twins and triplets. Naturally the weakest among them were the triplets. Even with training the last part of the year, they lack the pieces that enhance the body.

The other 8 weren’t much different, they had strange but weak powers that needed a lot of effort. Everyone already had the system and could ask the system to check but they were fully active. Any of them had the energy to know it and were going to have to train that or enhance the system involved with it to use it better.
“Well this year is honestly going to be interesting as it is, what are our first classes?” Robin asked after the first day.
“Heroic wise? I believe it is technique development so basically instead of using just generic attacks, 10th graders get experienced help to start using our powers more efficiently and attack stronger.” Milo said.
Robin looked and he was moving his hand and had some dark mist around it.
“Oh? Did you finally get the resistance?” Robin asked.
“Only the basic resistances. I can’t get more without this and the death god said that none of the necromancers or bone warriors that can channel this energy can’t get higher quality ones yet.” he explained.
“Bone warrior?” Lola asked.
“People who transform their bones into armor and weapons or grow bones as projectiles and other things. Most of these people have some connection to necromancy in a way.” he explained.
“How do you use it?” Robin asked.
He was still waving his finger before pointing it and it gathered to the side and suddenly one of the bone lances appeared but this time it had the death energy radiating around and form inside it but only lightly.
“Punch it.” Milo said.
Robin looked and walked over and he raised it vertical and Robin gave a ‘light’ punch but it took it without even moving. He frowned and wound up for real and punched with his body but no energy and this time cracks formed around his fist and he formed an indent but that was about it.
“Wow… that is hard?” Robin said, shaking his fist and feeling the heat inside it.
“Yeah but the energy to cover this entire thing is exhausting after I started gathering death energy. For now I am limited to arrows.” he said, spawning several small but straight bone spikes that were the same length as the bone from the elbow to the wrist.
“Wow these are straight as an arrow.” Robin said holding one and swinging it about and hitting the table causing a strong thack.
“Took me the whole summer to understand how to properly infuse death energy into these but they are very useful. Once I’ve naturally developed resistance and control I’ll be able to learn how to enhance undead as well.” he said.
“Are there other necros?” Robin asked.
“Yes but not with my ability, it is based on what the gamer space created. Apparently there is a Necromancer acolyte class now and it seems to base off both my connection and Sir Vincent’s system of growth. The system helps form a very weak connection to the nether realm in those with the class which they can summon from so that undead don’t need to be risen from corpses.” He said.
“Oh, I saw that. Most of Vincent’s followers got that and those already adults are training at home while students are in schools. There are some here right?” Shoji asked.
Milo nodded.
“There are lots of classes. Honestly, there is a novice esper as well.” Shoji said.
“Did any of you get the Hero’s Disciple class?” Robin asked.
Lola raised her hand and at the computers the twins did as well. Rudy was obvious since he was a phoenix but that was it. Milo and Shoji clearly weren’t fully accepted but it was curious that Lola was.
“Does it consider Grace a hero?” Robin asked.
“No, Mephesto himself, I had two personal training days at the start of summer and at the end the day before yesterday actually.” she said.
“That’s good, I heard he wasn’t fond of the idea of joining the circle dedicated to the academy.” Robin said.
“He’s not, that is why he came around only twice.” Lola said.
“I guess it makes sense, there aren’t limitless heroes that could react quickly to super villain threats.” Shoji said.
“That’s right, how are you two in heroics?” Robin asked the twins.
They turned and laughed and told them what happened with the stored life force and what happened after that to everyone’s surprise that they could share life force and it was balanced out at just over 6k for each of them.
“After that we found that we could share powers as long as they were connected.” Oliver said showing the hand plug and they connected their hands and just held hands and Tristan took his phone and summoned Hack while Oliver took the one he had focused on in his phone and surprisingly shot out another Hack but this one was different, it was clearly based off the original model but it was changed a bit. The prime change was that the horn on the nose had a golden ring at the bottom and all around the borders were countless tiny codes.
“Huh? That one seems different?” Lola said and pointed at the horn. “Why do I feel holy power radiating from that ring?” She said.
“Well because of what we found about the AI we started making plans for the future and one is trying to get the AI and spawn system to recognize something like holy power so I just altered the Hack Model to have this ring which was originally bare and put the ‘lore’ around it to be a vessel for great holy power. The system made it possible but it can’t make the power so after that, we had Grace just unload power into the ring and it somehow was able to store just a bit when it was sent back and the system spent nearly a week completely silent as it analyzed that. When it was done the ring evolved and contained all these coding and when it was finally summoned out the ring was gold but dull but it had full capacity to hold a huge amount and take it in. It is limited to just strengthening it in this state though.” He said.
“This state?” Shoji said, noticing it.
“Yeah, they both have adult forms.” They said grinning but sadly they couldn’t show off.
Everyone was curious about it however and couldn’t wait to see it tomorrow when they finally start the technique development.
“Wait, are they already adults?” Robin asked.
“Nope.” they responded, “They lack the life force but the new form and all it’s design has been compiled and uploaded. It just needs us to evolve them in the real world and that form will stick.” Tristan explained.
When he said that they got excited to see that.
“I feel like this is going to be a big year, let’s all work really hard and live up to the expectations put on us.” Robin shouted.
The club members in the new larger and amazingly equipped room all cheered at his words and grew excited for what the future in a hero academy would hold.
