The morning of the next day, Robin walked out after a calm night. It was still quite early in the morning and the sun had not even fully appeared yet. He found Chasm Might just sitting outside but he was covered in a faint red aura different from the one they knew from True Qi which was usually just a faint glow over his skin, due to his mastery.
He sat a short distance away and began to channel his psychic energy.
Spinning through all his nerves and training all his acupoints he sat there alongside Chasm Might for about an hour as the sun rose until his teacher sighed.
“So?” He asked.
“What?” Robin asked, not breaking concentration. It wasn’t hard for him to do so at this point because he was already on the path of learning parallel thinking.
“Not going to ask about what you saw?” He asked.
“Not really. You didn’t tell Silk so I don’t really need to know.” Robin replied.
He looked at the boy with the flaming aura of life energy around him.
“Okay. So how is your training with that blood pump going?” He asked curiously.
Robin faintly smiled, “I’m honestly shocked myself when I discovered how to properly use it with parallel channeling. Even more shocking is that I've trained just channeling in that state just to feel how my life essence moved. Did you know that my life essence actually leaks as well as gets consumed? About 80% of what I lose is leaked because my body forcefully pumps energy too hard. Because my heart flow channels are also my blood vessels I've found that when I channel and spin my life essence through them, I also train the vessels and they tend to keep any energy from leaking out of the areas I channel through.” He said.
“Right, it is always good to train the channels.” He said.
“It would have been good to know early on. That way I could have trained my whole body equally instead of just the acupoints.” Robin said.
Chasm Might snorted a laugh when he heard that and knew he was just joking about it. “Are you worried about the mission?” he asked.
“Of course.” Robin replied simply.
Chasm Might fell silent for a while and scowled, “I hate it when I have to do missions like this. As the execution beuro head, I'm usually the one that the government has set to clean out government trash.” he said.
Robin’s aura slowly weakened as he stopped the flow to his subconscious level and opened his eyes. “People call it the dark side of society. Even if it is not the pristine hero's work we all know but it keeps our society running.” he said and looked out into the distance through the brush at the edge.
“Would you say the same thing if the people you have to kill were others in the line of duty of heroics?” He asked.
This time Robin paused and thought deeply before slowly nodding. “It would depend on what exactly is going on. I wouldn’t want to be sent just blindly into a situation where I have to kill someone doing heroics work but if it was a situation like them funding criminal activity just so that they can have rigged fame and improve their image only to than take the items the villains were after and sneak it to the true culprit then it is better to not have such people working. Society, after almost 100 years of the existence of heroes and even the restructuring of hero ranking, is saturated with people doing this job.” Robin said.
“It is a harsh competitive world, you will find it is even harder when you graduate and build your heroics company.” He said.
Robin smiled, “I hope I can already be a Braveman by then but the ‘merit’ required and responsibility are probably going to be extreme.” Robin said.
Chasm Might smiled when he heard that, “For the last… 10 years or so after I was given the rank of a hero, I've always thought that the system required a new restructuring. Vigilante and strongman are important stages of a person’s growth but I feel like it would be better to remove those ranks and leave trainee, Braveman and Hero as the only true official in heroics. The rest would function under the name of an official braveman as a sidekick until they can reach that level or under law enforcement. With this… if someone eventually reaches it, we can officially establish the Super hero rank.” He said.
Robin had heard him talk about it several times. Only an actual hero knew the stress of the even crazier creatures that threatened the world at large. Each of the four world union nations, America, Europe, Africa and Asia have no more than 10 de facto heroes but there exist thousands of braveman.
What Chasm Might honestly wanted was strongmen and vigilantes to work under law enforcement and military with the same heroic mentality they actually assume and the organizational structure. Those that become braveman would then be honestly part of both systems when they reached braveman closing an ever existing gap between the two.
Soon enough, the other two walked out, “Mr Might, are we going to leave without breakfast?” Marcus asked.
“No, let's get something to eat before we head off to our meeting point to meet our contacts and get updated on the situation.” He said and got up.
Robin followed in and they entered the expanded camper and made a hearty breakfast with some spirit rice to make sure no one was hungry.
After that they got dressed and each of the three boys showed their mastery, even if remedial, of flight.
The most stable was Silk who has had True Qi since the end of last year while both Marcus and Robin were still learning the basics of flight with Ki and Psychic energy.
Not to say it wasn’t difficult, Shoji had shown Robin how it worked and how to control psychic energy to negate gravity acting on him and how to subtly use it to reduce drag and air resistance.
Marcus was naturally the worst because he has had this for barely 2 weeks.
“Hey, be careful where you fall, we don’t want unnecessary casualties!” Silk said and laughed at Marcus, who glared at him and bounced about as he tried to gain greater control.
Each type of energy has a different ‘control’.
True Qi controls the rules of the world to levitate, psychic energy uses the power of the mind while Ki uses energy propulsion. His body is covered in his energy and controls from that.
Soon he stabilized somewhat
“Alright, we shouldn’t waste time, try and keep up.” Chasm Might said and flew into the air and the three followed.
Although Silk made fun of it, Ki had the highest flight speed. Once he accelerated, Marcus just needed to learn finer control to keep himself from flying wild. Chasm Might had them fly higher than the buildings just to avoid that problem and also out of traffic.
Robin was the slowest as he used levitation but that didn’t stop him from flying closer to building level and catapulting himself at much scarier speeds and maintaining speed by controlling the air resistance and trajectory.
It felt better to him to, at least, slingshot himself because he had grown used to it during his time with beat springs.
Eventually they saw a large tower with the name Star on the side.
“Is this Star tech HQ?” Marcus asked as they approached and Chasm Might was going down.
“Yes, the CEO, Comet Star is a private investigator but few people actually know this fact. It is how we are able to sell brand name goods to political figures.” He said.
“But Star Tech isn’t even a heroic company!” Marcus said.
“Yes… I know.” He said and landed on the open terris
The others worked their way down as best as possible before landing and following after him where he knocked on the door.
Opening it, a man with, shockingly, an exposed glowing orb visible through his chest appeared.
“Chasm Might, I'm so happy that you’ve finally decided to come. I can’t tell you the stress of the situation here!” he said, extremely happy. The pulsing from the orb showed his emotions and let them in, “You must be the interns working with him right?” He asked.
“Yes sir.” Robin said.
“This is Black Bullet, Kong and Punk Dog. Uh… two of them probably have only tentative names.” He said.
“Hey!” Silk said, knowing it was about him.
Marcus was also aware his alias was also to be contested because of his recent change.
“That’s fine, for now please this way, there is just too much to worry about.” He said and closed the door before he activated a security shutdown of the top six floors and turned off the elevators to these floors.
He led them into said elevators but they felt it move horizontal into a totally different shaft and go down.
“Aren’t we going to a meeting room?” Robin asked.
“I’ve said it before, no one knows he is an investigator.” Chasm Might said. “Officially, Comet Star is a retired strongman and retired at the age of 28 when his family was targeted. He stopped heroic work and became a technological developer.” he said.
“And a damned good one.” Comet said.
“Right, that said he actually never truly retired, he works behind the scenes.” Chasm Might said just as the elevator stopped and the door opened into an amazing base.
“Secret hideout…” Marcus said.
“Hey, when you’ve got billions to spare and have to remain silent about things, you tend to give into childish fantasies.” Comet said with a laugh.
He led them through the base until they reached a meeting room. He took the head of the table and the four sat down around it before the lights went out and the walls turned into screens.
Image after image appeared.
“Hmm… these are state senators… and that is the New Jersey governor. That one is New York state governor… that is Pennsylvania and that is connecticut. Basically all the states near or connected to New York city.” Silk said.
“Yes…” Comet said and the pictures changed putting them at the top of the chain before breaking several senators under each and connecting lines, after that was in groups of several at a time Comet star introduced the pictures of judges, police commanders and many authority figures and put them into webs surrounding each senator.
After the second governor, Marcus scowled, “Wait, are you saying that each governor is the head of basically an entire criminal chain?” He said.
“Yes.” Comet star said and continued down the line to the last.
After that he started on the true criminals and introduced the important and dangerous figures of each gang or organization, their range of motion and what they tend to steal or produce.
From drugs to support gear for criminals, it was one mass of connections but among this is also conflict of interests.
Then the faces of the killed crime lords were brought up.
“These are the villains killed during the Time Tempest incident. We’ve linked them to several crime organizations thanks to captured subordinates and among them are the Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York crime lords. As you can probably tell, because New York is bordered by three states as well as being a massive metropolitan city with immense cash flow, the city itself is highly contested. Although every state is part of the central east region of North America in the Union, there is still a large faction war here.” Comet said.
“Do the regional governors have anything to do with this?” Robin asked.
“No, people that high up have so many people watching them, not to mention heroes themselves, that people tend to actually see the president and Regional governors as the only ‘clean’ political positions. When you hit the state level, that is when things get harder because of just how many states exist in the entire union.” Chasm Might said
“Exactly, it is easy for heroes to monitor 50 regional governors but it is hard to manage the couple thousand state governors, not to mention the senators, compared to the time it was just the USA, there are infinitely more senators. Just the fact that only this small group of political figures have over 70 billion in their hands is enough to make many people feel the pain of managing continent wide nations.” Comet said.
“So what exactly are we here for?” Marcus asked.
“Because of the fall of New Jersey and Pennsylvania crime lords, along with most of their followers, their crime structure is in shambles. It is particularly harsh in New York because now the surrounding states are trying to expand.” Comet said and began to show the conflict of interest between sides.
“So…” Marcus said looking, “Are we aiming for the invading crime boss?” He asked, pointing out the empty space.
“No, we are going to finish off the existing systems in all states from the top down. New Jersey and Pennsylvania are the ones that are likely to fall easiest. The hard part is once they collapse, there will be no one left to stop the incoming groups and we’ve got to figure out how to stop that encroachment.” Chasm might said.
“So the weak groups are mostly acting as a damaged dam at the moment, once we take it down, there is no stopping those still incoming.” Robin said.
“The most important part is successfully restructuring the police and capturing the judges.” Comet said.
“Do we have any proof at all?” Silk asked.
“The low ranking police are easy enough to catch, the problem stems from where money goes too after that, where weapons go and much more. Techno taking basically all the money from the top people including the police commanders should send them into a frenzy but what he can take is only what they have in the banks. These kinds of people will naturally have money on hand. For normal people it is rare but having money storage units is common for big people who do not want to risk losing at the bank. It is just an electronic device incapable of being accessed remotely.” He said showing the device.
“I’ve heard of these, they are never released unless you have at least 10 million or more to move. With solid money being basically obsolete, these are used to store the digital credit. They are nearly unbreakable apparently.” Marcus said.
“Not unbreakable but it would require a strength type hero to break any of those.” Chasm Might said.
“So what do we do then?” Robin asked.
“For the time being, we have some areas that need to be investigated for suspicious activities and if you can find evidence, even better. Bullet, you are an elastic hero, this should be an easy job.” He said.
“I can’t morph like normal ones.” He said.
“But you are smaller than either of them and from the records sent by Chasm Might, your elastic control should have reached a state much greater than 90% of elastic heroes. You should be able to at least compress yourself flatter.” He said.
Robin frowned before thinking and channeling both his energies and imagining how he would do that.
Ensure your favorite authors get the support they deserve. Read this novel on the original website.
Soon he thought of more paper-like flatness and pressed from the front and back and they saw him grow much flatter by almost half his size.
“This is weird.” He said in a strange voice.
“This is good enough. What is important is for you to be able to enter places that others normally can't hide.” He said and the city map opened up and became 3d as it began to show a complex under a building. Which leads to the underground train system. It goes along the city until stopping and surprisingly there was an opening. The place is along the train system. With the underground bullet trains being so fast, we need someone with reaction time just as fast to be able to get off and out of the way. The other problem is getting in without being found. We’ve only found one entrance and one vent.” he said.
“Seriously…” Robin groaned as he saw the vent which was quite small.
“Robot scouts just say that the vent is an airway from below. No blades, nothing, this includes traps. It seems they wanted to be as conspicuous as possible. That said there seems to be other entrances but it is hidden and this is the only one our tracking flies have found.” Comet explained. “For the other two, you’re going to assume normal heroic work. Chasm Might can’t show himself directly or every criminal organization will be in hiding within the day. The jobs are going to be centered around specific gangs and groups that we are following and we hope to get your help. I've heard that all three of you can already produce high levels of strength nearly at minimal level bravemen.”
“They can. At present, only Game Master is the only de facto other student in the academy that can match them outside of normal students.” Chasm Might.
“Game master?” Marcus asked.
“That is Kevin’s alias. Just like Admin Server is an ‘admin’ of the game, Kevin is the ‘Game Master’ of the Gamer space. Only he took that name though and it doesn’t include the others with the secondary gamer space levels.” Robin explained.
“Oh.” Marcus replied.
“Right, Bullet, please be careful when you finally start the mission. Besides being the only one that we hope can fit through the vent, you have to be wary of the leader in this place.” Comet said.
An image appeared of a man before it pulled out. “We’ve identified this man as the ringleader of this base. His power is turbo acceleration, he is able to create exhaust vents throughout his body to suddenly and rapidly accelerate and he has the mental capacity to casually move around at super speeds.” he explained.
Robin looked at his teacher and knew this wasn’t a coincidence.
“I should be able to at least dodge and maybe attack then.” Robin said.
“Can you?” Comet said.
“Thanks to the gamer space I've recently purchased a trait which makes my brain capable of processing information faster. I already had a natural skill to help capture information faster and that evolved into a heightened perception ability while I also had kinetic vision that became enhanced vision. When I tested out my capacities over the last two weeks I was able to ‘see’ anything at least under mach 1. If his speed is fast enough to need heightened perception then I should at least be able to ‘follow’ his movements. If I can hit him while he is moving is another question.” Robin explained.
“That’s good but we don’t need a confrontation, the plan is to install spyware into their system so we can monitor them. This is a stealth mission, not a combat one.” Comet explained.
“I’ll try my best, it would help if you somehow killed their power so that it would be a little easier on me.” Robin said.
“We will see what we can do, killing the power would mean possibly stopping one of the largest metropolitan railway systems, that would affect no small number of lives.” He said.
“Depends which time you stop it.” Silk said, “If we do it after nine and before 3, we won’t have to worry about rush hour. Otherwise we will have to work at night which is more dangerous since they are more likely to come out into the streets directly.” he explained.
“One way or another, also you would assume they have reserve power generators, there are many kinds of power sources and just like in the hearts of those giant Braveman level robot's that were destroyed during the Richmond incident last year during the first internship, they might even have world core generators. Hell, if there was enough corruption, the same 50 or so cores might already be back in circulation.” Marcus said.
“You know about this!” Comet said.
“My clan has a few brave man level members, it is natural that this stuff comes to light, especially when Mr Atlas had his swarm of stones rush out. Similar things were found in their chests from what we heard at home so since bubble gum here says he is a ‘world core host’ then those things are also world cores.” Marcus said.
His analysis was spot on. A single core could indeed power a massive amount of energy at once if power shut down then it might even make them go on the defensive once power returned.
“If that is the case then we will try a smaller scale, we will hook your system visors with our tracking flies and they will help scout the coast and watch your back. If need be, they could be used to hack cameras and freeze their image to open the coast for you.” Comet said.
“That would probably work better.” Robin said.
He was happy that there was a compromise and after that they began to go into the more in depth details of the operation and what had already been discovered and what they were looking for.
***
Oliver slowly appeared, yet again, from the platform while the scanners on one of the wires were heating up once more but unlike the first version made, these were better and as you can guess, a lot of information was coming.
“Hmm… the information is much clearer compared to the first few models.” Techno said.
“This is already the 10th model you’ve used.” Oliver said.
“Yes and I'm making constant changes to see the different results to figure out all the segments that are required. Still… I think I have enough to make the official 2.0 model instead of prototype #1. Once I finish pinpointing the strong points of this model, I'll put together all the strong points into a new scanner and see how it goes.” He said.
Techno took out all the models and began to look through them all and then called worker drones and dismantled the 10 models directly and took the vital parts in every model and gathered them into a single scanner and gave it some tests before replacing anything damaged and with an identical model piece before connecting it back onto the wires.
“Alright, Model 2.0 complete, let’s start shedding some lights with a more complete view.” He said with a smile.
“Is this even going to work? How is just putting it together going to help?” Oliver asked.
“When making technology based on a single user’s powers, numerous tests are required, at the moment we are studying how your life force assumes a state of data and even retains the several gigabytes worth of DNA from every cell of your body without having any side effects.” Techno explained.
He gestured making Oliver sigh and knew this was just his portion and eventually it would move on to the others but he entered once more and ran through the changed wires.
The internal view of each scanner was much different from the originals that were more like gates.
These were longer tunnels which extended the scanning range by several meters instead of a single line.
His entire body fit into the scanning zone as he passed through and came out on the farm and opened the camera.
“How was it?” Oliver asked.
“This is amazing!” Techno exclaimed as he was working.
Tristan walked, “The scanners seem to finally be able to handle you moving through and it seems the scans have finally started to piece together all the separate scans he took before.” he explained.
Techno had him come back using a different wire to not overload the same ones and go back through the other wires just to increase the number of scans before he finally appeared once more.
“Hmm, this is honestly amazing. Alright, let’s replace these scanners with new ones and finally try the final tests.” He said.
“Which are?” Oliver asked.
“Dungeon boy, take out one of those crystals you were finally able to condense.” Techno said.
Zack focused and took out a pebble sized crystal which radiated a scary amount of life energy but it was perfectly stable and would not disperse unlike the eggs he had before.
“Perfect, this is the final test, I want you to try and digitalize this and take it into the farm.” Techno said.
Oliver frowned but knew that this was important so he took it and walked to the platform where everything started up.
Of course, he had no idea how to do this so he first tried to digitalize it while cupping his hand around it but it just phased through once he became data so he had to think of something else and instead he added just a little bit of his life force that was start to get affected and he found the crystal starting to destabilize and grit his teeth before it suddenly expanded into a head sized ball and formed a bubble like an egg before forming a filament to contain this power.
When it assumed this state, it finally digitalized and he went into the platform where everything stabilized.
His hand plugs had come out and formed an energy sphere to contain the life force stable and he was able to move but had to focus. He couldn’t go fast like before but that was even better as he passed the scans slower and gave it longer periods to analyze him and the life force before he arrived.
He had to use voice commands to open a window, “What do I do with this thing!” He shouted.
“Is there no reaction from an AI?” Techno asked.
“No, there is no AI in this chip yet.” Oliver said.
“How do you know?” Techno replied confused.
“I’ve been in the farms that had the AI and have felt its presence before, there is nothing in this farm that matches that.” He replied.
“That’s helpful.” Techno said and noted it down.
“Alright, just let it loose so we can see the result.” He said.
He didn’t feel good but he let it go and it dropped down and bounced like slime before it was shockingly absorbed into the farm itself.
Instantly the farm began to shake and expanded in levels as it expanded a full ten times before the farm began to rapidly start gathering data.
“Wh-what the hell!” Oliver shouted.
“Activating digital spawn core creation system. Tristan!” Techno shouted.
Instantly he knew what he had to do.
“Oliver, get out.” Techno shouted and he didn’t wait as his body shot out.
Once he came out, Tristan extended his hand plugs and ‘touched’ the node of the secondary pillar and instantly his body began to make dozens of small life essence nodes that he injected one at a time and all of them rushed into the farm where they began to crystalize into small spherical orbs and gather data.
Each one formed an egg brimming with life energy and as they turned solid, Tristan extended his life force and pulled one out and started to extract his life force and form new chips. The process of creation was extremely fast and required very little energy. The eggs couldn’t struggle and were far more stable than the wild infants. Almost 70 eggs were formed and he regained around 95% of his life force and installed all the chips into the pillar.
Each one reformed as an egg and each one was on its own level 1 farm.
Techno was busy analyzing everything, “hmm… the data of the eggs is quite impressive but what is breathtaking is the energy in the farm that grew. Although the life force has spread and was moving, it seems stagnated now but it is brimming. If a properly programmed tree model was created, it would be able to support, for a time, a natural cycle of food and transfer of life energy.” He said.
“The energy is stagnant… is it because the world lacks a core?” Tristan asked.
“I think so, it probably needs something that pushes and pulls energy like the human body does at its three centers of power.” He said.
“Were you able to analyze the process of digitization?” Oliver asked.
“Yes, because I was also upgrading the platform’s scanners from the inside to match the progress of the wire’s scanners, I actually saw what you did. The process is extremely unsafe for life force users who have condensed energy. It is very likely that only those with just life force and particularly small amounts will be safe to transfer for the time being. From what I can guess, at present it is impossible to digitize people without Oliver’s aid in the process. Over the next week we will continue to get new scans before we move to a live target with lab animals. That way we can see the reaction to living creatures and what needs to be taken into consideration.” he said.
“Condensed… so it should be safe for powerless once this process is finetuned.” Oliver said.
At this, Techno smiled, “Exactly, boy, take out the uncompressed egg and so we can see how just life force reacts instead of compressed life essence. If there is no explosion like the compressed one then it should be safe as long as other people don’t break down into pure life force and can’t reform.”
Zack got the full egg and Oliver tested but as they had guessed, the egg only lightly grew, about 30% bigger as the energy got agitated until it turned into a digital form before it got pulled in alongside and he appeared on the level 10 farm.
When he came back out with it to see the result, he stepped out and surprisingly, it compressed back to its original size once it returned to its natural state.
“Good, that should be more than enough for tonight. I need to start doing extensive changes to the setup after this.” He said.
“Sir, I know we are here to develop the technology but are we going to work on and train the spawns?” Tristan asked.
“Don’t worry, the plan is that we will construct Richmond’s entire pillar system with the primary tower as well and create the first ‘server’ or continent. I've already downloaded the Holy power data pack and once these chips develop their separate AI, I will update it and design a ‘holy land’ pack. We are going to test how flexible these things can be by even testing what happens if we put them inside a 3d model of a normal animal. The end result is to produce the first anti virus force. At the same time, I'm already looking through the known sources of ‘world cores’ to find a match that the AI approves. I'm hoping the world cores we got from those giant robot's will work.” Techno said and finally dismissed the three boys and had them head off to rooms he prepared.
In there, they sighed after the night and morning of just pure tests.
Oliver fell on the bed exhausted at the effort he had to put in.
“You okay?” Zack asked.
“Yeah, just tired.” He said.
“I never expected to become part of a hero’s project.” Zack said.
“Yeah, neither did we.” the twins replied.
“Hey, I was wondering, your dungeon was pretty limited in diversity right? Have you gotten any support from the school?” Tristan asked.
“Yeah, we found that the more complex the environment, the better the effect on me. With me making the 6th floor when Mr Might gave me my dungeon boss, the first 5 floors were left very empty.” He said.
He raised his hand and projected the five floors and what they saw was an amazing structure of mazes and the movement was much greater. A lot of rooms had been combined to make larger rooms and many more insects and reptilians were added into the mix to form a healthy ecosystem. After that were things that could eat those reptiles that are commonly toxic. Then many kinds of higher spectrum animals.
“Are there any more monsters?” Oliver asked, looking at the amazing maze before him. Most of them are a little monstrous already.
“Mr Might had me take out a few of each specimen after the dungeon stabilized with the many new animals from top to bottom. It also proved that I can only control my dungeon bosses but it is pretty fine as it is. Most of the creatures on the first 5 floors are mostly trainee or weak vigilante strength though.” Zack said.
“How strong is your boss now that it has grown?” Oliver asked, curiously.
“It is still growing but it’s already firmly in Vigilante. I have it regularly run through the first five floors to weaken certain populations of animals and bugs that are starting to get out of control and eating a lot of their corpses helps with its growth a lot. Below that…” Zack said and the maze disappeared and the 6th floor appeared. It had already expanded quite a bit and the wild but weaker variation of the boss had a large nest active in a single room while the dungeon was already being converted into a very large forest zone.
“Why are the rooms so big?” Tristan asked.
“This is their natural size actually, I've not actually merged any rooms until now, they all are about 100 meters across so with some planning done with the teachers, I've been basically building large gardens which the rabbits are pretty happy with. I'm also going to soon break some rooms off in all the rooms and make special tunnels that will connect with the water systems and finally add aquatic life. When I finally make the 7th floor, that is when I will add animal and insect life to the 6th floor. I can already see the chaos that will ensue because the dungeon automatically decompresses my life essence into life force on the top floors. It doesn’t do that for the bottom ones. I'll be producing actual dangerous monsters once things are put in there.” He said.
“That’s so cool, could you imagine if you had like 20 or even 30 floors, you would already be making brave man level monsters!” Tristan said.
“I’m really far away from that, everything is dependent on the quantity of my life force but I will soon have to supply a huge source of energy to you guys so I'm unlikely to get a lot of development room.” He said.
“Don’t say that, you definitely will, in the end, it is your own power so you don’t need to worry about it that much.” Oliver said.
“Yeah.... What about you guys? Your powers are almost out of your own hand’s at this point.” He said.
Tristan and Oliver smiled weakly, “At the moment, we’ve already confirmed with the AI that she can’t actively produce digital spawns even if she had the towers. As for digitizing them or not, she also can’t do that since they need life force to convert data into matter. Though, it is amazing that the Gamer space is able to pick up on the spawn’s own stats despite it being our life essence.” Tristan said.
“What level are they and how strong?” Zack asked.
The twins grinned, “Halo and Hacks are both level 92 and their physical stats are all above 500. Their constitution is even higher at nearly 600. Although their wisdom and intelligence was pretty low initially. With 460 stats, we raised their 15 wisdom to 100 and then split the remaining in 5 ways for the other stats. They got smarter and stronger when their potential was properly tapped and after that Techno and the AI checked their core data after Mr Might tested their abilities and brute strength. They are nearly on par with Robin and his rivals.” the twins said.
“That’s amazing.” Zack said and envy was clear on his face.
The two were extremely happy and they only had the basics of their adult forms developed, they had a lot of potential to tap into and develop different abilities still.
“They are pretty big, is it safe to use them in the city?” Zack asked.
“At present, they are pretty small on the spectrum of ‘big creatures’. Especially Halo.” Oliver said.
“That’s true, what are the plans for the ‘holy’ spawns?”
“That is part of the tests. It depends on the things we generally hear when they evolve. Remember how the AI said their firewall system and programming upgrade during the hatchling to infant stages. We believe that digital spawns are very much like digimon and can adapt to and give form to any kind of program. We plan to basically install a developed firewall system into one of the many eggs that were born as they are and will see how it goes. Hopefully by properly upgrading the potential of the firewall and defensive aspects while mixing it with holy power, we will be able to produce a natural evolution produced without ‘command’ evolution like we usually do when we designate spawns to evolve. In all respects, the cores that the pillars were designed to try and incentivise natural evolution, that way, waste data will truly become waste and will not be usable for evolution as it was before.” Tristan explained.
“So that was how it worked. It is all so complicated.” Zack said.
“Yeah, we agree.” They said together.
“It isn’t something we personally can build alone. Techno is basically designing all the programs and systems based on the natural formation already there and building off that.” Tristan said.
Zack nodded but looked at them, “Is it safe for you to enter the supercomputer? Both of you basically possess the two powers that could make the AI an actual god? One to change between matter and data and the other to literally create life.” Zack said.
“No, not yet at least.” Oliver said. “We can’t be sure if it is safe so one of the main things we know Techno is already doing is loading the farms with Life force like we saw today. If the farms are already filled with it, the AI will finally calm down once she is able to connect and pull those ‘continents’ and feel like she doesn’t need what we have. Hopefully there is a world core to help stabilize this stuff as well.” Oliver explained.
Zack nodded and saw a tv and decided to watch something to relax. Soon they were all asleep after missing a full night and Techno didn’t bother calling any of them as he basically was rebuilding more than half the connected machines and actually started testing live tests of what could have possibly been what caused digitalization but it all failed so he enhanced the scanning power.
“Next time I need to focus on Oliver’s hands to analyze the energy waves coming off his plugs.” He said and continued the reconstruction after several failed tests and checked on the boys before deciding that he also needed a short break to do only analysis without changing the entire system.
