Within a secure building, Robin looked at the girl he had not met but had learned it was one of the 6th level core gamer pieces.
That said, he was also briefed on the uniqueness of this particular person and was shocked to learn that the person in control was actually an active fragment of Gaia.
He was left to monitor her in case of problems but she was given permission to extend the space. Kevin was ultimately the primary game master while the others were like central hardware for his power to filter and expand.
He could control these pieces.
After the heroes left after dropping them off, Robin felt awkward sitting around with her.
She looked at him inquisitive, as if already knowing he wanted something. “You can ask what is on your mind.”
Robin thought about it and asked, “Are you the same as the gamer system one?” He asked.
“I am though these fragments are not as connected as the gamer system for security reasons and to allow it to slowly grow into a new soul for this child but yes. I am.” she said.
“How many gods have you planned for?” Robin asked. “And what exactly are gods?”
She looked at him with interest, “Indeed a very inquisitive one. As for how many I planned for, none. My soul is too scattered to make true plans.” she explained and then told him what she had told Server admin and Kevin about how her soul makes up the souls.
“So everyone and everything is able to become a god?” Robin asked.
“Yes, their ability to become minor or major is on them however. Choices, growth, mental development, everything sums up to eventually reach that. Some people such as Zack Rain became a demigod before achieving level 2 refined energy while others could only become a demigod after.” she said.
“So… wait… why is there so much history based around gods? Has this world been invaded before?” Robin asked.
“It has, roughly 6,000 years ago there was another invasion but lesser magnitude which was naturally repelled. At the time I was able to gather my soul and become conscious in a different manner.” she said.
“So Zeus, Odin and all that was real?” Robin asked.
“Indeed, they were. Some survived much better than others. After the invasion was dealt with, slowly the war of the gods caused them to die off. The worst tragedy was the death of all the aspects and gods of death connected to this world. It made it impossible to purify and return most of the souls destined to return back to me. If the gods of death were alive, I would have remained active but without mortal sin being cleansed, that meant I had to hibernate and allow nature to cleanse it.” she explained.
“So… you will be able to achieve autonomy once Milo and Lola become gods?” Robin asked.
“It will allow me to manifest naturally, yes, but I do not wish to return to sleep. This gamer system was unable to be crafted during the first invasion but should it fully activate, I will be able to spread it along all the connected dimensions directly in contact with my world. Nether world, Hell, Digital realm, heavenly realm, all the worlds being born within the gods and more. By doing this, in particular to Nether, hell and heaven, I will be able to keep the active flow of soul fragments without the need of the gods of death and hell to filter them. Even if the efficiency drops to less than 30%, I can still make it function until I can raise a new god of hell and death. Not to mention the countless mythical creatures of countless aspects of divinity.” she said.
Robin looked at her, “Why is it that my friend circle has concentrated so many gods and why was I able to become a god when my innate ability is so… useless at the start.” Robin asked.
“There is no real answer besides coincidence. The same moment that Milo can become a Demigod of Death, the villain known as Tartarous could become one as well. It's just a matter of compatibility and your personal inquisitiveness. Many things that have happened are the result of your unique thought process to think outside the box. It is further proven by your future soul going as far as sending his soul back in time just to change the very course of history. He might have achieved great feats in life but you also know how much he lost in the process to become a god able to destroy ‘him’.” Gaia explained.
Robin went silent and frowned, tragic memories were all over the place so he naturally knew what she meant.
Countless friends sacrificed themselves as time went on. Only Milo and Lola were beside him as the leaders of the gods that would be born in decades to come. A meager amount compared to what is blooming now.
“What is ‘he’. I know he is supposed to be some kind of god or celestial that invaded hell before being sealed away on earth but why does he not have a name, a title?” Robin asked.
“To gods, names and titles mean powers. You have the title of Demigod of Perseverance, this holds immense power and causes your mental limits to be absurdly abnormal you’ve not noticed because of your innate ability but you are capable of taking pain without flinching or taking your eye off your enemy or target. You are able to punch when your body is drained of energy and hurting all over. That is perseverance, the divinity to push beyond your limit and hold out to the last moment even if you fall over the next second.” she explained.
“In my memories… I end up the leader among them but compared to all the ancient gods, these powers don’t compare.” Robin said.
“Who is to say if they compare or not? I’ve little control over who or what becomes the leader but I’ve seen the memories in the tree and constantly monitor it passively. I’ve also revisited ancient memories to see the previous invasion. The ‘leader’ is never the one with the seemingly strongest cosmic powers, it is the group most vital to beating the invader.” She replied.
“So his weakness is my gravity.” Robin said.
“I can see why you think that based on your memory where you injure him but again, it is a collection of circumstances needed to hurt him and you know that as well.” she said.
Robin nodded, “About the divine physiology…”
“Those are racial biology, a set of genetic traits that will birth creatures of myth including naturally occurring gods I still can’t sense more…”
“Not that… I told the digital goddess that before she could think of being a real god she should get a body despite having a soul. These people have a body but lack the soul and spark…
“And you have a spark but lack the soul and body. It is a balanced system that each will balance out with time. At the end of the day, your constant soul and body training are minor transformations which the gamer system helps correct any minor inconsistencies that form from your own training process. With sufficient time, your soul will evolve and break away from my direct link to be your own divinity and your own world and your body will evolve and develop the genetic physiology of a god. The same can be said about the digital goddess. When her realm takes true form she is likely to already have a body but who is to say. My daughter is still figuring herself out before anything else, especially her connection to those twins who are fragments of her soul.” she said.
“Why is everything fragmented?” Robin asked.
“Mortals are too simple to be able to understand and withstand the impact of a true divinity. Bring up the physiology trait.” she asked.
He naturally could and brought the screen of the trait.
“Now bring up your hardened rubber body trait.” She said.
He did that as well.
“Now system, display both as a DNA helix structure.” she said.
Robin was confused but from each screen, a helix structure of DNA came out but Robin was slack jawed instantly. His rubber body was a normal double helix but shockingly the physiology traits, he had discovered with the system after a lot of looking, were triple helix.
“This… I’ve seen mention in video games about how the triple helix was used as the DNA of gods.” Robin said.
“It is not without reason, a double helix is a stable form I came to understand, not to say that it isn’t common throughout the galaxy but who is to say. The triple helix, however, I found during the first invasion when I was finally able to manifest myself. Along with many allied gods of knowledge I studied my personal DNA of my manifestation and discovered to have this structure and within the other gods there were a few such strands which gathered their unique abilities. The number of gods were very small though and all of their abilities ended up vanishing instead of sticking around. That said, within the mortals who had mated with those gods, pieces of the triple helix DNA fused with double helix structures until they formed dormant DNA. That is what constitutes humanity's endless abilities today. The invasion triggered the DNA’s automatic response. With mating, these combinations grow only more complex, it was why I needed the Gamer Space, with so many wild abilities natural to mortals, I needed to find a way to control it because they are going wild now.” she said.
“Right… So that is why there are disabilities, so at the end of the day, all the countless powers we have today are a result of hundreds of thousands of other racial physiologies surviving in small parts within humans and animals.” Robin said.
“Yes, it is also why we have begun to find full physiologies the more complete the gamer space grows. Thankfully level 4 will come with the first of three divine systems and I will be able to properly find the traits most complete and the ones most compatible.” she explained.
“What about me? What is the physiology of a rubber bodied creature?” Robin asked.
“I do not know, it is possible you’ve got plant dna related to the rubber tree, likely a fae or treant of ancient past with that form of DNA.” she replied.
“Those were real?” Robin asked.
“Indeed, not enough time has passed for them to appear yet, especially with a parasite like existence and my soul not being active. Were it active, many things would be different, primarily the fact that I would also start the process of recreating earth’s world tree.” she said.
“Recreating… you mean there isn’t one anymore?” Robin asked.
You might be reading a stolen copy. Visit Royal Road for the authentic version.
“Such a thing used to exist but as with many other things of the ancient era, it was destroyed leaving only the weaker creatures on earth. There are also only some cryptic creatures who will eventually regain their footing once I’ve fully awakened.” she said.
“Is there a way to speed up the world tree formation like with the digital goddess and all the world trees sticking out of each fragment of the world?” Robin asked.
“No, it is not something mortal gods can make. I will need to seek the help of celestial divines to obtain a seed of a celestial tree from the heavenly realm to properly remake my world tree.” she said.
Robin frowned at the irritation of not being able to do more.
“What can we do now to help you?” Robin asked.
“Just work hard, your memories say 4 years until the attack so that means you’ve got 4 years to reach the level of hero to make a difference in history.” she said.
Robin clenched his fist, “Is it even possible to kill him? In my future, I saw we did succeed but he had unsealed himself and we had to fight him at full strength. Wouldn’t killing the vessel containing his power make him get free?” Robin asked.
“How I wish I had the answer for you but my previous invasion was from space traveling mortal gods, not a celestial.”
Robin touched his stomach and felt the core, the tiny fragment that he had absorbed was already gone after undergoing grinding.
“I’ve read about him in Techno’s special archive about him. Mephesto’s statement on him says he has a cloak of demonic energy which block virtually everything.” Robin said.
“The same cloak he produces Lola produces…” Gaia said.
“So you’re saying that we need to be strong enough to cancel the power out first.” Robin said.
Gaia smiled and said no more.
Robin knew he wasn’t getting anything more on this subject so he went to something else, “So… if there is some kind of specific physiology, does that mean that human DNA will become restrictive towards their physiology and we will start to be genetically restrictive?” Robin asked.
This time Gaia paused and looked at him and shook her head, “Mortals yes, god's no. That is how the legend of Zeus’s numerous children came about. A god’s DNA can mold to mortal DNA but mortal DNA can’t combine easily. Some of them will, most of them won't so in time, indeed there will be new races to be born that are no longer human. The ‘powerless’ as you call them, are the human population that will remain human and no longer gain powers while the children of the powered will grow more and more concentrated.” she explained.
“So they will be limited to biological evolutions.” Robin muttered.
“Yes, once true physiology traits are properly identified and grouped up, the ‘human physiology’ will be able to form and with it includes levels of improved genetic trait systems.” she said.
Robin nodded and no longer asked for more information and instead fixed his posture he was sitting down in, “I will be training but will be on the alert.” Robin said as he used a telepathic technique which let him sense the surroundings while his mind channeled divine force to start training his world core.
With connection to the network of information, Robin was able to follow the movement of people and all the chaos that was happening as the unions were cleared out but his face just couldn’t help clenching from just how many were involved.
To say nothing else, the asian union had the most intense problem since India and China were both part of the asian union and the population isn’t that much smaller than what it once had in the 21st century with their billions in population.
It would honestly be better if they spread out but who wants to leave their home.
During that time, Techno also began to build up new servers for the digital world. He calculated the grids of each union and made up a grid of placement which would make a full cover of the tower’s range at the 10th level.
As a result, more land masses dropped down providing more power and more data to the network and most importantly, more space.
The most important part of it all is for the digital world to gain enough data flow to allow natural digital spawn evolution.
He had already gone to all the ‘angel’ models with their rings and infused gold digimetal rings to their structure and after a few new landmass dropped in, there was an immediate effect as countless child rank evolved into adult forms.
The shapes were random but all of them celestial in nature. Some were angel-like, others looked like celestial animals like tigers but all of them had displays of their holy artifact in the form of metal rings or weapons.
As the number transforming increased with the increased land mass, eventually a critical mass was achieved on the American continent landmass and starting from the monolith of holy power, the landmass began to evolve until it reached the tree and transformed into a landmass where the world tree released holy power naturally.
It elevated higher and became the ‘heaven’ of the digital world.
For the school and other things, they moved over to the other continents that didn’t have that but as a result of the evolution, now digital spawns with natural holy power were born from eggs.
The digital creatures that had evolved and grown began to work and build their own society to prepare and help train and evolve their kind to be ready to fight in the off chance their own realm is invaded should humanity need to run and hide here.
Other world trees also began to evolve differently but in a much more natural sense.
Massive forests, endless deserts and other environments were programmed and formed and the digital creatures finally gained the feedback and data required to evolve and adapt.
Animal bodies as well as machinery known to man were naturally downloaded, primarily animal forms as the spawns assumed a 90% animal form with some strangeness to them which were slightly more threatening aspects for intimidation.
There were even creatures who became living plants like treants.
When Robin checked the data that came, Gaia was looking and smiled, “A tad bit more twisted but each world adapts to their own times. I hope my world will regain it’s great health it once had.” Gaia said with a melancholy on her face.
Robin looked at her with a hint of worry, “Healthy doesn’t mean safe, does it?” He asked.
She forced a smile and shook her head, “Humans are the weakest of sentient creatures, your teachers will make great gods of humanity and will guide them well, do not worry.” Gaia said.
Robin did not think about it but he just examined everything and slowly he started to split making his own personal archive of natural born digital creatures based on their time and then he also examined the original anime for their typing and slowly started to see a similarity but Robin did it more science like.
Basically his categories were mammal, insect, aquatic, angelic, plant, dragon.
Dragon consisted of everything that was reptilian because there is no way such a thing will not be considered a dragon. Of course, there is a lot to examine to see the difference and there are probably a lot of underline secrets that the digital goddess needs to explain.
“So… how do you actually even give plants sentience?” Robin asked.
“Oh… plants already possess souls but they are about 99% dormant souls. All it takes is giving them stimulus and seeing which ones are strong souls and then just keep stimulating the soul and waking them up in phases. At the same time I would need to add human physiology into the plant and properly merge the natural plant DNA with it to achieve sentience.” she said.
“Did you do the same before?” Robin asked.
“Yes… humans were the first sentient creature in my world, despite what anyone will ever say. Everything that came after had some level of human DNA mixed in to achieve sentience. It is also why so many creatures in mythology have, at the bare minimum, a human structure or can transform into human shape. At least the most intelligent of them.”
“What about dragons?” Robin asked.
“They are ancient lizards who adapted exceptionally well to mental enhancement caused by human DNA but are resistant to the human form. It is this same reason why many of them develop mana so easily but can’t concentrate their life force and become so huge in size. Their own size becomes a weakness and requires so much energy. If they were able to concentrate and produce life essence, they would automatically assume a humanoid shape and become more humanoid and that itself is seen as an insult to their precious ego.” she said.
“Uh… why are there no fossils of them?” Robin asked.
“They are hollow bone creatures. How else would they fly? No matter how cosmic they grow, a dragon needs hollow bones to start flying until they learn to use magic to keep up this capacity as they grow bigger and older.” Gaia said.
“The dragon king is said to have dense bones.” Robin said.
“Indeed and you can see where it landed him. Permanently stuck in Antarctica where he cannot leave since that would require flying and he is unable too because of his dense bones. If he does not learn to produce Aether, that giant body will forever be grounded.” Gaia said.
Robin felt there was some kind of animosity in her tone towards the giant predators.
Robin did check the little information they had on the monstrosity that had beaten away all of the heroes. He also asked about Dracon and how he flew.
“He is flames in solid form, he is fire incarnate and he solidifies it into that form to control the power most efficiently or converts into a fused human form to transform that energy into physical brute power.” she replied.
“And his previous host who named himself after a god?” Robin asked.
“A god of fire that has not developed enough to be rewarded the divinity of one.” she replied.
“Not god of the sun?” Robin asked, confused.
“Where is the power sun based? Your teacher is a demigod of the sun because his power derives from the sun. He is even revived should he die and is exposed to sunlight.” she said. “This is just the power of fire.”
Robin smiled at the irritation she showed.
He didn’t question it more. In the african union, the amount of regions was much smaller than the american union so it took less time once data was collected and it went much faster compared to the asian union to the point that the asian union was the last one to finish with the european union being the first and they gathered there before returning.
Effectively the entire world was scanned by the system but Robin scowled as he looked at how massive the four hospitals of disabilities were.
It was honestly painful to look at just how bad it had gotten and the only thing he could be happy about was that everything he had done had caused a domino effect that would allow so many hundreds of millions of people to get the help they all needed.
Another thing to change was that with new land masses, all four unions began to move their official powerless populations, the ones with 100% impossibility to obtain powers, to the digital world.
People who wanted to be farmers were given a small farm plot and could actually work the farms even with the help of digital spawns.
Others who wanted a normal city life gathered and made towns or cities and each one began to make work while the heroes provided resources to start off the digital world society until food, material and resource base was established to support this society.
On Robin’s part, he groaned as he worked with the disability hospitals to work through the psychic disabilities and get these most dangerous individuals cleared first before working through the ones that needed to have their powers shut off to give them a healthier life to work up the money to get their traits fixed.
Besides intense training needed to keep growing and preparing, this is how his 11th grade went as the world adapted with all the major villain plots for the next four years completely crushed.
As for the reaction of the villains, no matter how they attacked, they would only get attacked back in full force but from satellite scans, the entire central area of australia was coated in a thick black cloud that did not move and it was clear that the anger ‘he’ felt was manifesting this.
As for the super villains, they either all escaped to the continent of villains after being hunted like dogs by three or four heroes at a time or they were very good at hiding and were able to hide their presence somehow from the gamer space.
There was even a reading showing Time Tempest but as soon as he saw five heroes coming down upon him, many who were actual threats, he directly ran through the time stream because it wasn’t like 2 years ago when the american union barely didn’t have any heroes that could fight him.
As such, for the first time in decades, the union of heroes had fully and effectively pushed the villain's presence out from the world completely.
When it finally achieved this, Kevin was also finished the 3rd level but they had not been ready and when it was, he and the other pieces spent nearly an entire week to gather every piece, it wasn’t a small number because now it involved every class. Combat, support, NPC class, everything was involved and shockingly, even Milo’s necromancy piece had its own system but the gamer space had to build the class. Once it was done, it merged with the currently active necromancer class and now permitted necromancers the ability to use undead biology but only through the system but even then they did not get feedback like he did.
When it was finally done, the power pieces upgraded and the size of the space expanded to the entire north american continent and it’s national waters, stopping just short of the panama canal.
Divine system active, System is now able to scan and analyze elementary physiology and demigod divinity
