Book 4 Chapter 15

Book 4 Chapter 15

Despite all the new changes, there was no immediate explosion of growth, for the people who already had strong powers, their human biology was already enhanced so the human physiology made no difference to them.

However, the ones who did get differences were normal people and humanoid mutants.

Basically the people with extra or more distorted limbs due to the nature of their powers, they had a significantly worse genetic makeup and the human physiology caused a lot of physical changes.

Of course, it did take some stat points to start the change up.

For Robin and Ruth, they had over 200 levels worth of potential and high speed brains to build the energy network.

Robin’s first instinct was to focus on his mental strength. The main reason was because his Supernatural perception and Vision were genetic traits separate from the mental bulk but could be connected if he put the energy towards it.

He first found the quickest path to reach it and hooked them like a branch. Ruth had the traits as well so she also found the path of least resistance to connect them.

That said, when it was connected, shockingly each of the traits, perception and vision, had their own networks of connected traits, with more then half combined into one cluster.

The raw energy was the weakest way to power them up and even the quick path was a poor means to power it up.

After that the two began to work on their mental section until they built the most efficient and powerful flow of energy but everything was connected in the main bulk.

The way it worked was that, normally, the light wasn’t noticeably different but to the twins that didn’t matter. Perception to catch even the most minute details and vision to enhance the vision to supernatural levels allowed them to notice even the most subtle changes.

Like this they were able to build the most intense system without losing energy and propagating the flow to make it stronger and this actually relieved a lot of potential energy waste.

When it got to the extended trait, the straight line of energy to the perception and vision traits it began to change as the line connected to secondary traits as then entrance. In seconds the line shifted between the dozens of traits before several lines came out from different mental traits and connected in several traits and then beeline to the perception. From these several, they began to connect to other traits at very fast speeds which were very slow in their eyes.

Eventually the entire network was activated, fully powering up the entire spectrum of traits and channeling into the central trait.

After that they began to focus on the other aspects of human nature related to their bodies and it very similar to the first one, they first found the simplest passage to the end and then rapidly expanded and branched, splitting and fusing flows that needed to form until they filled out the the human physiology by virtue of their excessive efficiency and propagation of energy.

They stopped after that because they had used up to 90% of their potential energy and would need time and energy to adapt after this.

They asked how much stats needed to be infused to allow the system enough power to implement the full changes they had planned out.

It would need 20 points to the five main stats so they added them in.

When they came out they felt rather good but Robin immediately felt his head and vision feel a bit strange and had to close his eyes.

Behind his closed eyelids, a system massage appeared in his mind as clear as if it was in front of him.

The full activation of the previously inactive network of traits pertaining to Supernatural Perception and Vision has been activated.

Supernatural Perception has gone from level 10 to level 25

Supernatural Vision has gone from level 10 to level 20

Supernatural Perception has unlocked the capacity to perceive information of spiritual, elemental, cosmic and Divine nature.

Supernatural Vision has caused the evolution of the host’s eyes. Your natural vision is still within the normal light spectrum however your eyes have evolved and developed new light sensors for the spectrum of infrared and ultraviolet. Your brain has also evolved to be able to properly understand the colors and the mixture of infrared and ultraviolet with the natural color spectrum.

Robin and Ruth both began to blink because their eyes were actually hurting a bit and as they looked around, their eyes widened in shock because the world looked exceptionally strange. They felt like their eyes actually flexed before the color spectrum returned to normal.

“What in the…” Robin muttered as he felt the pressure in his eyes return to normal. He looked around before flexing it again and that pressure returned and the world started to include the extended light spectrum and he felt his brain hurt.

He immediately stopped because he was clearly not used to it and he was sure he would need an intelligence dump to get his brain adapted to that new change.

Ruth was not much better, “That was weird but besides my eyes, the rest of my body feels so peaceful now, like a fresh wind blew through me.” She said.

“Agreed.” Robin said.

There was no grand transformation or increase in power, it was simply the most common and damaged DNA changed for healthy or slightly better then athletic traits but when seen in the overall, it caused a harmony in the body and reduced stress their bodies felt.

During PE they tested everything but didn’t feel much different except their vision being different. The mutant students who felt the biggest changes achieved a more normal appearance except for the parts related to their own ability like extra limbs.

For Marcus, he groaned, much like the other kong clan, because they had a permanent new tail that grew out.

They also didn’t have a huge change besides the tail since they were also only activating the human potential.

After PE, Server Admin came to their class, “I’ve just come to inform you all. The new genetic tree you all see from the Trait shop is running much like the original gamer space. It is unable to tap into your complete potential and can only access a limited potential. You have to use at least 70% for it to be able to extract more energy. I also suggest you seek out someone with a very strong mental processing capacity to find the best flow of traits. We’ve found that some flows of energy can reduce energy waste and propagate energy better so don’t think just flooding every flow and channel is the right course of action, that can kill you.” He said before leaving.

For Robin’s group of friends he helped out, even club but what really took him by surprise was his rivals.

Marcus and Silk, even Kevin, were there for help.

“Punching bag, you had better help us power up our human biology!” Marcus said.

“We won’t let you train in peace if you don’t.” Silk said.

The groups of cronies behind them grinning.

Robin rolled his eyes and looked at Ruth, “Sure I’ll help.” She said with a chuckle.

It took almost a week to finish and it approached the end of the school year when the twins had worked their way through their club members and even the Kong clan and Silk’s cronies.

The psychics were also busy, especially those with a very fast mental perception and processing skill.

Shoji helped since he had learned Robin’s Perception skill.

The annoying part is that each person had a different flow, some flows that worked for one person did not for the other, even when they had the same power type.

It went to show how different it all was.

As for how this affects disabilities, well most people don’t start out with a massive abundance of energy to begin with. Most of them are more worried about their disability but the human physiology traits are infused even if not fully activated.

It takes 10 points in each stat to properly add it all though it includes the triple flows.

Robin saw the first ones, it was a rather poor fellow who had a very warped figure from the asian union. When it was added it was shockingly blinding despite how little energy was added since it was just 50 points but there was literal bone cracking and the sound of muscles being crushed and restructured.

When he came out, the warping on his figure had been resolved and besides some swelling his body looked human. When it was done and he woke up, he actually was able to stand and his power was able to properly activate and the swelling actually decreased while everyone saw his back form wings and his tailbone extend.

They examined him but Robin asked the system a question, “Did his human biology push out the poorly blended DNA and concentrate it into the only complete segments of dna?” Robin asked.

Affirmative

The reply was all he needed to see to know how the system was working through the problem. It was removing the incompatibility humans had with their dormant powers while directing the scattered trait pieces to the largest built traits and built them without deleting powers.

When it was done with, over 100 others of many different varying powers, the results tended to be the same. Most people were swollen after coming out and once they woke up their powers would manifest while the excess mass would take the form of their abilities, usually externally.

People with still warped abilities or shapes likely meant their powers were too incomplete and would need to fix that fully but usually they were significantly healthier then before and were even able to gain some meager control over it.

As for Robin’s own powers, naturally he had the traits of the other two races added in but unlike human DNA, the other one was not active, like recessive genes.

Despite his body training smashing every cell, those DNA didn’t activate.

When school let out, Robin wondered when they would be allowed to travel and do hero work normally again?

“Not much we can do since we had such a massive crackdown. Most criminals are still on the edge since police have been mostly replaced by military officers and national guards who are running under military law. All police are basically subject to military law and their reaction to anything is strict.” Chasm Might said.

“Right… that makes sense.” Robin said.

“Got any troubles?” He asked.

“No… it's just kinda quiet now that all the continents have been purged of the criminal underworld and sort of unsettling.” he said.

“I know what you mean. Oh, Grace was wanting to talk with those who have divine sparks. She said her deity had something to talk to you about.” He said.

“Oh… okay.” Robin said and looked for Grace.

He soon found her and she looked happy to see him, “Oh good! I was hoping to talk to you but hadn’t had time. I talked with Lola already.” she said

“What is this about?” Robin asked.

“Let’s find a classroom.” She said and soon they found a class that was vacant and she summoned the deity.

He looked for a moment before smiling, “Ah, Robin this time. Good, I’ve been wanting to talk to you since the gamer space upgraded.” He said.

“Is something wrong?” Robin asked.

“When the system came online, you saw that it talked about divinity and setting up priests and such.” He asked.

“Right… I didn’t give it much thought.” Robin said with a frown, “Because it feels too weird.”

“It is a very understandable thing for a mortal who gains divinity to feel that way. Religion in this world has been limited to faith in the unknown and unseen for so long so it would feel strange to talk about religion to a living being with a lot of power. That is beside the point, the thing to note is that the divine system is up and running at its lowest level. Previously it had functioned on this world differently, a long time ago but this world had still been able to connect to heaven and had gods.” He said.

“Wait, is this about how to become a god?” Robin asked.

“In part, basically what I have to tell you is the last bit of vital knowledge you need to know related to blessings.” He said.

“Okay…” Robin said.

“Okay, where do I start…” he muttered, “Okay, well I guess I should go with what your friends have. You are aware that Milo and Lola have unique links to the netherworld and Hell realms right?” He asked.

Support the creativity of authors by visiting the original site for this novel and more.

“Yeah.” Robin said.

“Right, for those two, they are able to obtain faith from the races they rule over. Milo will find that his skeletons produce faith and Lola will gain faith from demons and human demon hybrid.” He said.

“Wait faith… religious faith?” Robin asked.

“Yes, the thing about mortal gods is that to produce blessings you require faith which you can convert into holy power and then grant it as a blessing of your design but that is in the future. The thing all gods need however is a seat in heaven.” he said.

Robin was still confused about this so Grace chimed in, “What he means is that you have to be able to access the heavenly realm. In other words, the realm where the souls of the faithful who followed your teachings and such will ascend to as angels.”

“Oh… so I need to enter heaven to grow? I’ve been growing though?” Robin said.

“We know but you will never be able to form a stable world for yourself without a connection to heaven. Heaven is the domain of gods and as much as you might want to, you have to draw upon holy power to achieve divine feats.” He said.

“I have divine force though.” Robin said.

“That power is condensed world power to an unbelievable density but it is not the same divine power that is produced by natural celestials. You need the connection because you have to connect the world you will condense to heaven just like gaia is connected to the heaven I originate from. Even if you do nothing with it, you still need the connection or ‘the heavenly realm’ where souls of good will go much like hell.” He explained.

“So regardless I will end up with a religion?” He asked with a strained face.

“Well, not immediately, you will eventually have religion regardless. The world you create in your body, the source of your power, will breed sentient life and they will pray and produce faith to you one way or another.” He explained.

“Oh… I read that having a divinity related to a domain spread throughout sentience means I don’t have a specific race I depend on.” Robin said.

“Yes, that is a very powerful domain. Not depending on race is a very big thing. Now to achieve the link is quite hard because it requires soul searching.” He said.

He began to teach the process but Robin frowned when he heard that his mind had to sit inside the source of the divine spark. He was well aware how hot that was and for his soul that would burn.

Still he learned the process and was asked to do it. The link would form and it would open a small space that would gather his divine realm around it and he would be able to open a gateway.

Reluctant at first, he had to give in because he did not want to have this kind of blockade on his strength, he already had a lot of irritations to deal with and didn’t want this one as well.

It was not a peaceful process as his entire soul burned when he sat himself within the fire. The world went blank as he felt the fire burn his consciousness but through that burning he slowly felt strings, some kind of connection that dangled loosely. Everytime he felt one, it would pull to his consciousness and connect to it, releasing a burst of energy through his mind.

He didn’t know how many were connected but once he found the final one, his entire mind space broke down and he began to build it from the center out once more and his eyes slowly opened.

It was glowing a dull gray color. In his eye he saw a line extending from Grace to the deity and then looked down at his body as he saw many strings extending into the void.

The deity looked in shock, “So many!” He exclaimed.

“Is this not normal?” Robin asked.

“Ah…” The deity exclaimed and Robin knew it wasn’t. With a cough, he fixed himself up, “The links… typically represent a pantheon, normal gods tend to have two links, one to heaven and one to a more powerful god that forms a system of faiths.” he said.

Robin looked at the strings and found one that was pure white. He touched that one and it extended visibly as it sought for something, Robin channeled his three forces into it until it reached the tip and gave it power to pierce the barrier between dimensions into the heavenly realm and there was a large eruption of energy as it was trying to force out the connection but Robin was very calm.

His eyes saw white but soon they focused beyond and the brightness changed into a myriad of colors not known or explainable to human minds. It moved rapidly in all directions as it captured information like crazy and with a wave, special colors actually moved and impacted others, morphing and causing a ripple effect until it concentrated at the connection and the light was forced into the tip of the link until it burst.

It pierced and pulled the link through and immediately opened a gateway.

Moments after, Robin’s eyes returned to normal and he dropped down in pain, holding his eyes shut. “Fuck that hurts!” He shouted in visible pain.

It took a moment for him to get up and barely open his eyes. Grace gasped as she saw veins around his eyes were bulged.

“What happened to your eyes!” She exclaimed.

“It would seem he has activated the full potential of his vision. From the looks of it, supernatural vision is fully activated and you are still in the process of adapting.” The deity said.

“Yes, it’s so painful though.” Robin replied through groans.

“Yes, I would assume so considering your eyes now have the capacity to see beyond the light spectrum and even the merged spectrum of light.” He said.

“Merged light?” Grace asked.

“It’s the colors that are merged with waves beyond the human light spectrum. You are unable to comprehend what the color of ultraviolet and infrared and all such things look like in the visual spectrum but the boy is slowly developing a sight that ‘can’ understand it. His eyes seem to have evolved and gained a new form of light sensor and it is likely the first level of its development.” He said.

“Yeah… It's only infrared and Ultraviolet though.” Robin groaned as the veins slowly calmed down. Life source was channeling and healing the damage in his eyes.

He looked at the portal and after a moment he walked through.

Grace looked and followed.

As Robin stepped through, he found himself on a plateau within a realm of bright yellow clouds and a vibrancy unseen.

Moments after grace and the deity enter, his divine spark began to pulse within and an energy field formed around him before finally expanding to all sides descending to the base of the mountain and spreading over nearly 20 km radius of his position.

“What happened?” Robin asked as the pulsing settled.

“You’ve established your domain in heaven. The territory you’ve spread from will provide a minimal feedback of holy power to use for very minor blessings.” The deity explained.

“Minor blessings, I thought I needed faith?” Robin asked.

“The way faith works with the heavenly realm is sort of like a trade. Unlike Lola or Grace, who houses holy power or demon power within their bodies, you do not. In that case, you need your divine realm, this territory, to act as a container and so you need to harvest faith and feed it to the heavenly domain to access higher amounts of holy power.” The deity explained.

“I see…” Robin said.

Moments after, shockingly, tiny little children began to swarm the area. As large as his thumb, they were basically babies with wings and they gathered and laughed around Robin.

“What are these?” Robin asked.

“Angels, infant ones from the look. Those who somehow find themselves on earth are typically called fairies however.” the deity explained.

Robin looked but he felt no connection to 99% of them but he did feel some kind of reaction.

He slowly waved his hand and it gently pushed the angels off except for a handful who remained close and actually got closer.

“What about these that I feel a reaction from?” Robin asked.

“All angels have an affinity towards certain divinities. A sort of predisposition. All angels seek out gods but they don’t feel their own reactions but gods do. By forming a connection, you open these angels to your domain and they will live here with higher function and the capacity to evolve into forms of celestials and maybe even lesser deities. They can also do jobs for you though they are not able to be summoned to earth. Only souls of religious faithfuls who ascend into your divine realm can be summoned back as angels.” he said.

“So it's different from you and grace?” Robin asked.

“Naturally.” He replied.

Robin nodded, he saw a thin string connected to all the angels and one string on his body was reacting to all of them. He thought a while before powering the thread which spread thin threads and those branches linked to each angel.

They cheered as they spread about and holy power began to fill their bodies. It was very little but their life force brightened and they grew to the size of a newborn. They still looked like babies but now they were stronger.

“Is it safe to leave these children like this?” Robin asked.

“It's fine, however the important one is not here yet.” He said and looked around.

Moments after a bright shining light was seen streaking over the sky and tip down at them before finally stopping with a powerful pulse. What took form were three celestials.

One was a powerful armored six winged man with burning wings and a spiraling ring of eyes around him. The second was a two winged creature, covered in light with several heads on it, one being human and the third was a flaming mass with six wings. Within the flames appeared to be an angel but its features were obscured.

“Ah, here they are. It would appear these are your three councils. A throne, a Cherubim and a Seraphim, the angels of your western culture.” the deity said.

They descended and kneeled before Robin.

“May the new divine bless our presence and guide us.” They said together.

The strictness was rather constraining to Robin but he felt it was ritualistic. Not wanting to embarrass himself he just remained quiet as he extended the connection. Their threads reacted and connected and their bodies brightly shined until it calmed down.

“What are your orders!” They exclaimed.

“First off you can relax.” Robin said.

“You need not worry, most angels are strict by nature because they do not perceive emotion and feeling like mortals do. Unless they ascend and become lesser deities, they will be unable to comprehend mortal emotions.” Grace said.

“But the little angels seem rather well aware.” Robin said.

“That is just an impression because they are happy to be in service of a new god.” the deity replied.

“Oh.” Robin said. “Is this all?” Robin asked.

“You will slowly find more angels that react but these are your first council, they are your most loyal followers to death. They are here to protect the countless angels you will bind and work to your service.” the deity explained.

“So effectively they are guards and servants?”

“Yes.” the deity said.

Robin frowned and didn’t like this but he could tell there was no changing it.

“How do demigods measure up to native celestials?” Robin asked.

“Our ranks are angel, lesser deity, Greater deity, supreme deity. Human Demigods are on the level of Greater Deities because you’ve condensed a core. Supreme deities are gods who have condensed a world of their own but also produced a sentient race from which faith is drawn.” the deity explained.

Robin nodded, “So what do I prepare first?” Robin asked.

“Your pick but i would say to prepare homes.” the deity said.

“How many hands are needed for that?” He asked.

“My lord would require a few hundred to begin learning the trades of masonry and carpentry. Farmers are also required for sustenance.” the Throne explained.

Robin sighed, “Then for now just protect these angels and the ones that are gathering until my next visit and we will keep binding new ones. For food, there should be wild fruits that can help you relieve hunger.” Robin said.

“Understood my lord.” They exclaimed.

Robin felt constrained so he left and learned how to close the portal and open it. Like Lola it used his life source.

“Just another thing to worry about.” Robin mumbled.

“It is a vital part of being a god.” The deity said.

“Yeah, no memories appeared in my future despite being a god in the future.” Robin said. It was clear that it was a minor memory that had yet to appear.

“If it troubles you so much, why not just make do like Lola and benefit from it. I personally have a body cream brand called ‘Heavenly Gloss’ which makes skin care products. There are a lot of other things I didn’t really care about using so you might be able to gain funds from that like Milo and Lola.” she said.

Robin forced a smile, he doubted it would be that valuable when so many gods were being born and were soon to fill up the heavenly realm.

“Just saying but divinities within the heavenly realm cause herbs to change so even the same produce might have some differences based on the god.” the deity said.

Robin nodded, “Perseverance… I think I might study about physical care goods, things to help the body that helps people train and heal from training.” He just mumbled but looked at them, “Thank you for this, there is so much going on. Oh right, how do I access the power to make blessings.” Robin asked.

The deity taught him and when he condensed the first one, his vision suddenly tunneled as he saw a young man in the wilds, hiking. Behind him was a monster, it looked to be a bear but it was twice as big as normal and it seemed to be playing with the man.

The man was crying in fear and running as best he could but he was a normal man, powerless and far from home.

Robin frowned and he pushed the blessing forward and it vanished from his hand within the digital world and came down on the man.

“PLEASE GOD HELP!” the man shouted before the blessing fell upon him.

You’ve been blessed by the Demigod of Perseverance.

Blessing of Perseverance

Fighting your body to survive, you were blessed by the demigod that watches over those who persevere through the odds.

Improve stamina recovery by 200%

Increase stamina by 3x

Increase healing factor by 5x

Increases speed by 5x

Increase mental speed by 5x

At once the man bolted forward like someone pressed fast forward and in the matter of moments the gap between the two stretched to nearly 100 meters before the bear could react.

It immediately roared in anger as it sped up but that stretch also confused the man and he actually dropped his speed because it was beyond anything he could normally achieve. His stamina began to recover but as he looked back and saw the bear actually angry the adrenaline pumped hard again and he didn’t look back anymore and sped up again.

The bear had lost its patience but thanks to the increased speed, the man jumped out of the brush near his camp and screamed for help.

Immediately there were powered people who ran and began to attack the bear, causing it to roar and rear up in anger and attack but the man got behind the powered people who could handle the beast.

No one expected monsters in an area because they are so uncommon compared to humans.

When he finally collapsed in the safety of some vehicles he finally was able to see the window that had appeared and began to cry and thank the lord that something or someone had actually saved him in the nick of time.

The vision pulled back and suddenly a stream of bright white fog gathered around Robin. It was strong and vibrant, “Woah!” Robin said.

“Did you bless someone?” The deity asked.

Robin nodded and explained the event he had just witnessed and the deity smiled, “Yes, that is probably the most obvious case of using blessings. Let’s not waste this faith.” He said and taught how to channel it into the domain. It needed to go through the divine sparks in his body before channeling it through the link to the heavenly realm where it would deposit into the domain and draw in holy power in exchange.

“I never expected to help people like this, the system told him as well.” Robin said.

“I’m sure it would, the system is very fair in giving others the recognition they deserve. For a hero, giving this type of help in moments and distances he could never hope to cover is very valuable.” He said. “So what type of blessing did you give exactly?” He asked.

Robin read the description perfectly from memory and the deity and Grace nodded, “Makes sense that you would bless stamina, speed and healing regeneration, nothing more to say about preserving through danger then being able to run outside the limits of your body and not have your body break down because of the boost.” Grace replied.

“Its such a strange feeling.” Robin said.

“You will grow used to it. For your mortal sense it is strange, sure but with time you will adapt.” the Deity said and gave a few final tips before calling himself back to the heavenly realm.

Robin thought about it and asked who was still missing to call. He helped gather them up for Grace.

Milo probably had the most important because the process would unlock the underworld for him while Lola already innately had the ability so she just had to learn what to do and how to sense the connections of her divinity to incorporate it into the network she already has.

At the end, each of them ended up opening a domain and Milo’s was within the netherworld where his original connection was and causing a maelstrom as the domain expanded.

There was an immediate effect as the souls of the undead, wraiths specifically, surged towards him and the domain stripped the toxic energy of death leaving their souls free to move onto hell and Lola felt a reaction as soon as that happened and souls began to fill the rivers of hell with much greater intensity.

Lola knew she could not hold back anymore and got busy within Hell and began to fill her imp level with thousands of minions before looking to the lesser demons to bind all the tribes within the domain.

At the end, each of them learned to bless people based on their domains and this also meant Zack learned to bless his bosses and monsters with actual blessings as well as powers gained from his innate power.

When it was all done they decided to relax for summer and focus on filling out their potential trait trees and working on themselves.
