Essence entered him, healing his myriad wounds. Notifications spiraled into his vision, and he quickly opened them.
You have killed Ralnax the Breaker!
You have leveled up!(x2)
He quickly closed that notification, and opened the next one, which was for a title.
You have upgraded one of your titles!
Underdog:Rare->Giant Slayer:Epic
You took out a being over twenty five levels higher than you. That is quite an impressive achievement, especially considering that it was a sapient being you defeated. This title can be upgraded.
Bonuses:+10 points to Strength, +5 points to Resilience
After that one was a far more concerning message.
You have slain a being bearing the mark of Granath. Upon seeing you, and realizing who you are, followers of Granath will instantly attack you. However, you may thwart this effect with subterfuge.
Jonathan closed that message, and then shrugged. It wasn’t like he hadn’t been planning to kill every follower of Granath that he found anyway. In fact, this could even prove to be useful, if he used it with sufficient strategy. He was about to open his stat sheet, but upon seeing all the people crowding around him, he decided to wait until he was in a more secure space. He would have to leave this town before long, in case anyone came looking for the missing Ralnax. If they suspected that someone had killed him, they likely would send someone even stronger. Ralnax had been a bit of a stretch, even for Jonathan, and if not for his left over stat points, he probably would have died there. As it was, he has some things to look over on his stat sheet.
A few minutes later, he was standing in a back alley, preparing to open his stat sheet. There was nobody around, save for a few rats scurrying around in the gutters. They were mutated, hideous rats, of course, but still recognizable as rats. Making sure one last time that he was alone, Jonathan opened his sheet.

Jonathan’s stats were rapidly increasing, to the point that he had all of his resources in the thousands. In addition, with every threshold crossed, he was basically a superhero. Even better, he still had some spare points in the tank, meaning that he would be able to keep a reserve stock in case something like his battle with Ralnax happened again. He couldn't help but contain the grin on his face as he closed his stat sheet. He was a far cry from the man that he had been upon entering the Infinite Hells. He was powerful enough to take out fighters almost double his level, and he was on the path of the greatest quest in the history of this universe. He was the Hellbreaker, and he would break the Infinite Hells.
The next day was spent preparing for his challenges to come. The next monster wave would be coming soon, and now that he had dealt with the drug suppliers, he had fixed most of the problems with the city and the crafters’ refusal to pay taxes. Most of the crafters had readily agreed to support the city, now that the mayor was no longer using his money on drugs.
Jonathan had initially considered forcing the mayor to step down, but as it turned out, the man was extremely good at his job. He was the only person in the town who had a politically related class, meaning that he was far better at his job than anyone else would have been. In addition, after he had worked past the withdrawal symptoms of the drug, he had become a far more agreeable man than before. Jonathan left him to talk it over with the crafters. He had some extra money now from having completed his quest, and he needed to repair his armor. In addition, he wanted to get an upgrade for his gauntlets, in the form of an enchantment. He also had a plan for his gauntlets, but he wanted to try that after he had enchanted them, in case it backfired. If the weapons were more durable than before, then they were better equipped to resist what he was going to put them through. He had sent in his armor and gauntlets to Petrag a few hours ago, and was only now heading there to pick it up. He had paid a bit over fifty Marks for the service, but he was anticipating something extraordinary.
Walking in the door, he saw that Petrag was waiting for him, the dwarf covered in a thin layer of sweat. He held Jonathan’s armor in one hand, and the gauntlets in the other. Jonathan quickly walked up, and gave the man a grateful smile.
“Did it work out alright?” He asked.
“Better than I could have expected. Those gauntlets were already quite powerful, but with the additions that I made to them, they should serve you well.” Jonathan nodded and gently took his items from the smith. He held up his armor first, and analyzed it, having not done so already.

Jonathan quickly donned the armor, welcoming the stat boost from it. A moment later, he analyzed his gauntlets, eager to see how they had improved.
Marauder Captain’s Batterers
