As he started to conceptualize the power of his new breakthrough, he realized that the energy he felt came from his hands, rather than his core or body. All of his willpower related to martial arts was locked down in the implements that he used to carry out his butchery.
Before he tried anything new, he read over his stat sheet, reveling in the new changes.

He carefully reached out, and snapped his fingers, imagining a foe’s head being blasted apart by his metal clad fist. He drew upon the store of energy within him, still not understanding it fully. A moment later, a ghostly shape streaked through the air before him, impacting the wall with a dull clang. It left a sizable dent, but was unable to break through the Tier 3 stone. For a rudimentary weapon domain, it seemed quite powerful. That was due to the fact that he had formed it using three weapons at once, rather than a single one.
“You will need practice with your abilities,” Arkanon declared. “However, that practice is best done in battle. You have gained all you can from the training room. Using an Expert Ranked skill in a mortal body will kill you, willpower or not. As for you, Hushar, you seem to be on the cusp. You need to exercise that bloodlust I feel straining within you.”
The big Uthraki simply nodded, likely trying to conceptualize his near breakthrough with his weapon. The man was very close to creating an Advanced Pathway Skill revolving around his weapons, but so far, his battles had necessitated him sticking with his sword. He was not like Jonathan, who could fight with substandard weapons against enemies higher level than he was.
Arkanon snapped his fingers, creating a portal before him. Jonathan still had no idea how the man did that, seeing as he wasn’t attuned to Dark elemental energy. It was likely an artifact, but it was hard to tell.
“This will deposit you in the center of the front lines, fighting against the Mimic scourge. It is the surest source of essence in this realm. Just be sure not to lose yourself as you battle against tides of your own reflections.”
Jonathan opened his mouth to ask something, but a sudden force pushed him into the portal. He swore heavily at Arkanon, but it was too late.
When the darkness of the portal cleared, Hushar and Jonathan found themselves standing in the midst of a warzone. At first glance, what looked like two armies of utterly identical Uthraki warred for dominance, painting the world with their blood and viscera. As Jonathan’s vision cleared however, he noticed a few glaring differences. One side was utterly silent. While the Uthraki fought with bellowed war cries and screeches of pain and misery, the mimics remained silent, even as they were sliced apart into ribbons of flesh.
The nearest Uthraki turned to face the newcomers, baring their weapons. The unit looked to have been in the middle of rushing to support the frontline fighters. However, they seemed to recognize the power of Arkanon’s portal, and lowered their armaments, smiling slightly at the sight of reinforcements. Then those smiles fell as they realized that Jonathan and Hushar were the only ones coming.
“Where are we needed most?” Jonathan asked briskly, ready to get into the action.
“Does the Lord seek to humiliate us?” One of the Uthraki asked, ignoring Jonathan. “He sends us off to die, and then rewards our efforts with weaklings.”
Jonathan’s teeth ground together, and he clenched his fist, exposing his Domain to the world. The concentrated power of Expert Ranked mastery in three weapons erupted into the world, shining like a beacon of conceptual might.
“I am no weakling,” Jonathan declared. “Now, answer my question, or I shall find something better to do with my time.”
“I apologize for the rudeness of my subordinates,” one Uthraki said, stepping forward. He was clad in plate armor, and held a massive hammer in one bulging arm. “They are used to thinking that levels are everything.”
“Hmm,” Jonathan replied, making it clear that he was waiting for a response. Normally, he would have been a bit more patient, but the time he had spent divorced from his strength had instilled a burning need within him to express it.
“If you wish to help, the front lines are in need of reinforcement. You can join our unit for now,” the man added quickly.
“That sounds good enough to me,” Jonathan answered. “Lead the way.”
