Hey guys I just wanted to mention that I put a map in the spells and abilities section. Check it out! I’ll be updating it as the story progresses. He might not visit all of the places on it though.
Short summary of the last chapter:
Spoiler :
Voice found out he needed to go to other mage’s guilds to summon other types of fairies. He got some cool gear from those he made friends with, and did his first PK! It went by really quickly.
Also, let me know if anything is wrong with the chapter! Be sure to comment, like (if you actually like it), and rate if you have the time!
When all three players had been killed Voice’s Auto Dissection kicked in. Unfortunately Heather had already started eating one, and EDI destroyed the entire head of another. The only really good specimen was the one missing its eyes.
His dissection of humans increased to 75%. That was only a 10% bonus. It made sense though. He only dissected two bodies, and one was missing its entire head region. All of the items dropped were low quality, except for the leather armor. It was decent enough. Voice left the loot, except the leather, on the ground.
A benefit was that while using Auto-Dissection the bodies apparently stayed. With Dissection it said the bodies disappeared, with Auto-Dissection it said that the first body of each new species would disappear. So Heather got to enjoy all three bodies. Voice didn’t actually understand how she ate them all.
After focusing on a waterfall feeling over him, and trying to make it over the other two, Voice washed himself off. He had to actually concentrate hard to cast magic on others.
Voice looked at his notifications.
Disguised character ‘Bundy’ has received 200 infamy for killing his first player. Infamy will not cross over to other disguises unless the disguises are figured out.
For killing a player the disguise ‘Bundy’ will be a red player for 7 days.
Other players, and NPCs, will be able to detect ‘Bundy’ as a red player, if it the name is disguised(only counts while disguised as ‘Bundy’)
Heather was still munching away at the player, so Voice started a conversation with EDI. “So, how do you like the Sais?”
EDI smiled as she looked them over again. “They are wonderful. They have so much power, and are incredibly easy to use.”
Voice secretly wished he had picked something for himself. Even though he only used a staff, any weapon that was forged with Heavenly Metal, was bound to be awesome. Voice started thinking of a plan to get the Sais back. He had some momentary weakness, but he could still salvage the situation if he managed to make some sort of profit off it.
While he was contemplating EDI ask, “So why did you give me these anyway? They seem to be way to over the top.”
Voice thanked Mar he had the Con Artist skill. “Well, I was hoping to buy your affection. If I give you cool toys, I hope you will be more inclined to join a guild I make.”
EDI seemed like she just received the answer she thought she would. With a curt nod she said, “I will do it. I will join the guild you make. Whenever we get the other person, and the other needed stuff, I will join with you. Does that sound ok?”
Voice struck out his hand. “Sure does. Put her there, partner.” EDI shook his hand. They continued to talk until Heather was done. EDI talked about what she had done while Voice was away. Voice told her about how he tricked Davros.
When Heather was done eating the trio went further into the grasslands to the east. Heather had consumed every non-item thing from the player. Skin, meat, bones, even the leather armor, were all gone. The only evidence the bodies had been there, was a few junk items and a quasi-man shaped blood pool.
After glancing around to make sure no one could see them, Voice undid the disguises. He then re-disguised himself as the human Voice.
The three of them headed off to M’Path. The city to the east. It was about a week travel by foot, but Voice didn’t have any money for carriages. He could have asked EDI, but he didn’t want to turn her off of the idea of joining his guild.
The group walked towards their destination while talking. Sol even came out to listen to EDI. After about an hour of walking a group of three rabbits hopped into their way. These rabbits had red eyes, black fur, and instead of flat incisors, they had sharp fangs.
Voice looked at Heather on his left. He gave her a questioning look. EDI, who was on Heather’s left, nodded.
“These are what happens when low level demons possess rabbits,” she replied. Voice took out his staff and cast a fireball at one.
That was a mistake. The monster rabbit easily jumped to the side. The fireball flew in a short arc, landing squarely on a patch of dried grass. Realizing his mistake, he quickly used all of his mana to cast water. He knew what a flash fire was, and he knew he would lose nature affinity if he started one.
The water he summoned was enough to cover the heads of the short rabbits. The water quickly spread out, and only covered an area close to his ankles. Voice sighed with relief. Heather and EDI chose this moment to attack the three demon bunnies.
Heather jumped at the one closest to her, as did EDI. That left Voice the one on the far right, the one that dodged his fire. The bunny jumped to kick Voice in the face. As soon as the rabbit got close enough, With a wave of his hand, Voice created a high-powered wind to push the pest aside.
The rabbit was thrown a few feet to Voice’s right. Voice smirked at the pathetic creature. It was only level 16, why did they think they could beat his group? It didn’t matter anymore though. They would be exterminated like the pests they were.
Voice ran to the thing. By the time he made it, the rabbit was just standing up. Voice threw it into the air using his staff. He started twirling his staff so it would pick up a bit of speed. When the rabbit was within striking distance Voice brought his staff down in an arc.
He critically hit his target. He put the butt of his staff on the creature. He activated tight grip, and plunged his staff into the beast’s neck, the largest red mark it had. With a sickening *Crunch* Voice impaled the poor things neck. The monster rabbit died instantly.
The other two members of his party had already dispatched their enemies. Heather was sniffing at the rabbit she killed. No! She does NOT want to eat it… right?
As if to answer his question, Heather took a bite out of the rabbit. Voice asked, “So, Heather. Two questions. One: are you sure you should eat rabbit meat? And two: how does it taste?”
Heather finished swallowing the bite she had in her mouth before answering. “Hm, it’s not as good as demon wolf, but it’s ok.”
Voice opened his notifications screen, since it had an annoying blink.
You have dissected a new creature ‘Demon Rabbit’. You know 25% of the anatomy of ‘Demon Rabbits’.
Voice lost one of the two remaining rabbits to the dissection skill. He and EDI would have to share the one rabbit.
They continued down the road for the rest of the day. The came across two more groups of demon rabbits. Both groups were easily slaughtered. Voice and EDI had enough rabbits to make a good stew, and Heather consumed the rabbits whole.
Around dusk, they found a campsite. In the middle of the dried grass was a small alcove with wood. There were no tents, but it was clear that people slept here. EDI explained that the campsite was used by any. The gods had created many spots like it, for the sole purpose of giving travelers a place to rest. Voice wanted to cook the rabbits. For some reason the rabbits didn’t drop rabbit meat. Their entire bodies were still there.
I guess that means that if I use Auto-Dissection, I will have to do all of the work. Well at least I still have Susan’s knife.
Voice took out his dissection knife, and skinned the rabbits that Heather didn’t eat. He made a hearty stew the meat. He told Heather and EDI to gather any vegetables that were around them. While they did Voice used his pan to fry the rabbit meat. Heather was quickly gathering a mass amount of turnips and carrots. These were immediately sent to Voice’s inventory.
Unless Voice gave the items to Heather, anything she obtained went to Voice. Voice had eaten more than was possible for him to digest, while he was in the woods. Therefore, when he cooked rabbit stew, he offered most of it to EDI. The skinning was only difficult for the first three. After that, his inspect started kicking in. He also got the skill Skinning at the same time. Inspect showed him the most vulnerable places on the pelts. As he stared at each rabbit, Inspect even started showing him what places would be best to cut at.

While eating Voice asked about EDI’s stats. She seemed a little embarrassed to answer, but he prodded her for the information. He only got her level affinities though. She was level 54, but only had one affinity. Nature Affinity was at 80.
After eating their fill, the group went to sleep. In the middle of the night, Voice’s Inspect picked up a sound. After listening for a few seconds, the sound came again. The sound seemed to be several yards away, but closing in. He put his hand over EDI’s mouth, and whispered, “Sh. I think there are others here.” EDI nodded. She equipped her Sais and got ready to pounce up.
Voice did the same to Heather. She squirmed at first, but then relaxed when she saw who it was. He whispered to her that they were surrounded. He sent a mental request to Sol and Ancestor. He wanted to make sure he knew of what was happening, and he wanted to be healed whenever he didn’t have the magic.
His inspect had picked up on several sounds. Since it wasn’t in the advanced forms, inspect could only tell the general direction of the sound. Not the distance or weight of the one making it.
Voice equipped his armor and staff. He pretended to get up and relieve himself. He was actually using Inspect the entire time. He walked in a large circle around the camp. He made sure that the ever so carefully hidden people, most likely bandits, were within it. While he walked he flooded the ground with water. It used up a lot of Mana, but he was able to make a circle with a ten foot diameter. He might not have gotten all of the enemies in the circle, but he had at least gotten the majority. There were seven bandits in the circle, and one outside of it.
He emptied his bladder, and then went back to EDI. “I’m ready when you are,” he whispered. She gave him a slight nod. He sent out a wave of fire mana. Suddenly the entire area around the three was covered in flames. The dried grass that made up their surrounding area quickly caught. Several yells were heard in mere seconds. So much for your surprise.
Voice augmented his voice with wind magic. He used his Roar of Paralysis. The enemies, even those on fire staggered backwards at the vicious cry. One man even clutched his heart and fell over. Fucking wuss. Voice smirked at the on coming battle. The average level of the bandits was only 20. They picked the wrong group to fuck with.
Voice began his display of staffmanship, as EDI went to the nearest eye and stabbed it. Heather was right beside Voice, biting any that got too close.
Two men ran at Voice, flames licking at their legs. Voice smiled as the first man thrust his sword, he wanted to impale him. Voice dodged to the side, and hit the man on his wrist. The man’s grip loosened, almost forcing him to drop his sword. The second man was already on Voice, slashing downwards towards Voice’s right shoulder.
Voice easily parried the strike. He spun his staff clockwise, resulting in the sword curving towards the ground. As Voice continued the arc, the man could see that his sword would only put him at a disadvantage. He released it, even as Voice finished the arc. Voice brought the top of his staff (it is facing the ground) up. He solidly connected to the bandit’s chin.
The nearby bandit’s turned their attention away from EDI to look at the place that just echoed with a snap. One of the men attacking EDI ran at Voice. That’s weird. There are only four attacking her. I’m getting attacked by three now…
Voice had a bad premonition, so he immediately turned around. A thin person, that looked suspiciously like a ninja, stabbed Voice with a dagger coated in purple liquid. The only thing he could see was the wicked smile.
You have been poisoned. You will lose 10 health per second for one minute, or until cured. You cannot be healed while under the effects of this poison.
SOL STAY HIDDEN!
Voice’s health was dropping way too quickly. He couldn’t think of a way out of his situation. He yelled at EDI, “Catch!” She raised her hands up, earning her a slight gash to the stomach. She caught the ring and equipped it while blocking the next strike.
Voice’s health was already at 50. He kept fighting, His mind was reeling. He made a plan, but it would most likely end in his death. He blocked a strike from the ninja.
Time seemed to slow down for Voice. 48 health. He hit the ninja behind the left knee causing it to buckle. 39 health. The bandit behind him went for a backstab, his inspect told him ahead of time. He turned around. 33 health. He sent the bandit flying by hitting his ribs with a wind enhanced staff attack.
26 health. He brought his staff around while going to one knee. 19 health. His 360 swipe knocked sent the ninja flying. Voice might have laughed at the side spins if he wasn’t dying.
11 health. Voice picked up Heather and yelled, “USE THE RING!”
6 health. EDI used the ring and fully turned into a giant flying squirrel. 3 health. Voice threw Heather at EDI, and sent all of his lootable items with her. 2 health. Voice cast the biggest gust of wind he could, with EDI as the target. 0 health.
He fell to the ground. His last sight was of EDI raising in the air holding Heather. Voice smiled. At least his precious items were safe. I’ll be damned if I let her keep that ring though!
Voice’s vision turned to black as he hit the ground.
…
Aren’t I supposed to log out now? The world was still black. Usually it only took a couple of seconds at most, to be back in the white room.
…
Voice started hearing sounds. He could make out clopping. A horse?
He was jarred from his spot. He heard, “Oi! We have prisoners back here! Treat ‘em gently!” A round of laughter ensued. Voice felt a kick to the ribs. “Looks like this one’s finally awake!” Voice felt himself get lifted up.
I guess I’m still in the game?
His hands were tied with what felt like rope. He tried feeling them to see if they could be untied.
Thick Horsehair Rope Binding.
Weakness: Fire
Durability: 5/5
Knot: Complex
Voice thought of burning the binding, but he realized he was also blindfolded, gagged, and they tied his feet as well. While he might be able to get out of the bindings, and maybe even burn off the blindfold, and gag, there was no way he was going to be able to get ready for a fight that quickly. He felt something hit his head.
You have been knocked unconscious for 10 hours due to your low endurance. Would you like to log out?
I have high endurance! When the system didn’t respond to his inward yelling he though, yes.
His pod door opened.
“Alright I’ve got two hours before I need to be back. Might as well make use of it.” Brenton started the oven and made a small meal. After cleaning the dishes, he took another shower. He toyed with the idea of calling his mom, but she always got in trouble when he called. He knew that because of the way she would seem slightly depressed on days he called.
He took a quick shower. After cleaning his body, he put on shorts, and a shirt. He started browsing the net while drying his hair with a towel. He went straight for the DI homepage. He wanted to see what news there was about the game.
If you come across this story on Amazon, it's taken without permission from the author. Report it.
Apparently SD and LB and somehow managed to piss of an entire kingdom. It was found out that the assassinated someone, someone Brenton didn’t really care about. Brenton continued to skim. He couldn’t find any info on EDI, or DH. He saw a bit about himself though. Sadly it was only his two videos. He didn’t really expect anyone to write about him in any other way, but having the only comments about him being discussions about two videos hurt.
Brenton sighed. He started thinking of ways he could get out of his situation. He was captured by bandits, he had to do something about that. He needed to know where he was, and how to get back. He had sent all of his loot with Heather.
“If she died I’m going to kill her.” Brenton would not tolerate failure. Especially after he risked his life, to save those items!
Brenton decided that the best thing to do was to let the bandits take him wherever they were going to. After that he would figure out a way to kill them all. The most likely scenario was that there were at least a few others he would meet there. He could use them to make his escape. He made several escape plans.
Some involved just him, but most involved a group of people. The first step in every scenario was to figure out the hierarchy. He could use the ladder of power to his advantage. If he could take out the boss, then the underlings would have no one to turn to.
The biggest obstacle is how to do it without dying. If I knew some other types of magic besides light and wind, he would have a better chance. Although the knockback the wind provides isn’t anything to laugh at.
After another half hour of deliberation, and a restroom break, he went back to Solun.
Once in the game he realized his character was being beaten. “FINALLY! BOSS! HE’S AWAKE!” Voice squinted as light filled his eyes. He saw an ugly, brutish, bandit in biker like armor. Black leather, and metal spikes seemed to flow in any era. The brute had an ugly grin, enhanced by his lack of teeth. His muscles seemed to bulge from every angle.
Kronah Level 26
Elite Slaver Body GuardHealth:520/520Stamina:360/360
Voice sighed. I thought this shit would end when Davros was sealed. Guess life isn’t that nice.
Voice glanced at his bindings. They were the familiar cufflinks of the slaver his mother had killed. He had to actually work to keep his bloodlust from leaking out. He tried to maintain a meek look. He saw a blue arrow in the bottom of his vision. He followed it. On his cufflinks he noticed a small blue gem.
Mana Binding Mana CrystalThis ring absorbs any mana that travels near it while in the form of a spell.
Hidden Attribute: Mana Absorption
If you consume this Mana Crystal you will absorb 25% of all hostile magic directed at you. You must be blessed by Gnome to see this attribute. You must use Gnome’s blessing to consume this Crystal. You are cursed. You cannot currently use Gnome’s blessing.
Voice’s eyes went wide. The people around him were shouting something. HOLY! Ok. So that means I can still use Sense Mana Crystal? I guess it’s because it fused with Inspect. Hm, this could be awesome. I don’t care about escaping anymore. At least not right now. I want this crystal.
He tried activating his Metal Stomach. It worked. Had he not been keeping complete control over himself he might have laughed. If his stomach worked, than in all likelihood, his shoes would to. He wouldn’t have to worry too much about an escape plan.
He felt a tug on his chains. “Let’s go!” Kronah seemed irritated for some reason. Voice heard him whisper, “shitty mages.”
Voice looked around as Kronah dragged him. Voice could tell this had once been a city. Over time it had been renovated by these slavers. Voice’s bloodlust started seeping again. Control. Control it.
Voice could tell this used to be a beautiful city. If the windows weren’t shattered, and the buildings weren’t missing chunks of mortar and bricks, the city would have looked almost flourishing.
There were unkempt trees that lined the streets, withering and in some cases charred. The homes were all made out of stone, but many houses had missing roofs. The black scorching indicated thatched roofing, and a fire. Voice saw a group of people in chains. They didn’t look up, just followed the slaver leading them. The soul was gone from their eyes.
Voice noticed the smell of water permeated the air. Earlier he was too preoccupied to notice. He looked around. He noticed the city was surrounded by water. He could see all four corners of the city, and they all had water around their edges. There was probably about thirty feet of water on the north and south sides of the little island. The island was connected to both sides by a long metal gate. One that was probably opened from inside the city. The gate was towered about ten feet above the water, and who knows how far beneath it.
WOAH! A city in the middle of the water!? Cool! Voice was pretty excited. He had always wanted to live in a place that had easy access to the ocean. Even if this was just some sort of river, that would still be awesome!
The water sparkled in the morning light. The water flowed gently in the direction the slaver shitbag was taking Voice. Voice figured they had a while to go before they made it to wherever it was they were going, so he decided to experiment with his magic. If there was any he could cast, that didn’t count as a spell, it would only aid in his escape.
He put his head down and looked at the ground. He tried sending a small gust of wind aimed towards his captors back. Kronah stumbled as an unseen force pushed his back. As he fell forwards, he yanked Voice’s chain. Voice let himself be pulled to the ground. “Umph.” As he hit the ground, Voice smiled. It had worked. Even though he couldn’t cast ‘spells’, he was able to use his wind. He turned his pain setting down to 1% in preparation for the game to come.
Pain Setting at 1%Your body will undergo harsher repercussions with low pain settings.
If that was the case he could just create the element he needed. As long as it wasn’t structured as a spell he could use it. He could adjust his iron stomach to consume more mana, so that he could preserve the food he had consumed. He gave it 8.45 mana. That was exactly half. His stomach now produced about 85% of the required nutrients he needed each day.
With his improved digestion trait, food would last him even longer. He had what equated to several days’ food already in his stomach. It took up about half his carrying capacity. He had one hundred pounds of wolf meat. He could still carry a hundred and five pounds of stuff though.
He stood back up when the brute yanked his chain. As they walked Voice continued to look at the town. It would be a perfect place to own. It had some hastily built defenses, such as wooden watchtowers and long spikes where a wall would be, but that is what would make it hard for Voice to conquer.
For he DID in fact decide to conquer this town. If he could kill all of the slavers, then he was sure the people of this town would praise him enough to let him have it. After all, without him there would be no town.
Kronah pulled Voice into a kneeling position. Relinquishing his thoughts on capturing the city, Voice noticed a toned, yet slim, man sitting on the throne. Beside him were two ninja looking people. He dismissed Kronah with a wave of his hand. Voice continued to kneel, knowing that as soon as he got up he’d probably get beaten.
After a few minutes, he heard the man speak. “So,” his voice rumbled, “What do you think of my humble abode?” Voice knew he had to speak. He still wanted to maintain some semblance of dignity.
“it looks very nice. Although,” he paused for a second. “It could look a lot better if everything wasn’t in ruins.” Voice felt a dull smack on the back of his head.
The head slaver laughed. “UHO! Well did you know this pretty place was ruled by a woman? Imagine THAT! HAHAHAHA!”
“I don’t see what’s wrong with that.”
The slaver looked at him. “You don’t? Well let me enlighten you. This place had great economy, a perfect position to attack or defend from. All of the buildings were made from stone. This woman had it ALL! But she squandered it! Instead of getting money from the river she let people through for free! Instead of charging her citizens a steep tax for the environment, she only charged upkeep of this place! I threw her into the underwater tunnels! HA! Imagine her face when she went from a squanderer of riches, to being trapped in the tunnels! HAHAHA!”
Damn! That sucks! If she’s still alive when I save this place they probably won’t let me be owner!
Voice glared at the slaver scum. Not only does he have the balls to capture me! He’s so stupid he didn’t even kill the bitch! UGH! I’m not going to be able to kill her unless she’s in a dungeon! Voice cursed the incompetence of the slaver. If he was going to be the ‘bad guy’ he should at least do it right!
“Whatever. That doesn’t sound that bad.” Voice baited the slaver. It seemed like the underwater mines were pretty hard to deal with, he might get lucky enough to be put in there with her.
“What was that? Young man I don’t think you understand who you are talking to!” As the slaver said that two people grabbed Voice by his arms. Since they were tied together in the front there wasn’t much he could do. They lifted him to a standing position.
He had to put up a fight, he had to make it seem like he was strong. If he was defiant enough he might be able to get put into the same place as the ex-mayor. If he won the city from the slavers he would be tasked with saving her. If he failed to save her at that point, the people of the town might grow suspicious.
The lead slaver started walking towards him. He used wind magic to jump in the air about four feet, and kicked on of the ones that held his arms. The two didn’t expect to feel the force of such a powerful jump, and so didn’t stop him. 1st weakness: Unable to quickly adapt to changes.
As he jumped he coated the soles of his feet, with metal. He sent a powerful kick to both targets. Since the two men held his arms, the entire force of the kick was transmitted. As his feet connected his arms were released. He quickly deactivated his magic. He managed to land on his feet. His previous captors holding their stomachs in pain, kneeling on the ground.
He felt a sword at his neck. “Oh~ They told me you were just a mage. Looks like I’ll need to give them a talk .” A malicious smile appeared on the slaver’s face. Voice could now tell some of his info.
Evan Level 42

“Well, it looks like you need a little special treatment yourself. Guards! Put him in the tunnels!” Everyone around started oohhhing, or laughing.
He was hit in the back of the head. Fucking STOP with the head hitting! Voice didn’t like getting hit in the back of the head. When he awoke he saw that he was in a cell. There was very little light. The only light source was a long way to his left. Most likely the opening to a tunnel. As soon as he regained consciousness, a foul odor assaulted his nose. His inspect said it had a 90% of being fecal matter. Voice nearly gagged.
While he stopped himself from retching, he stepped in something. He looked down. Yep. That was a pile of shit. … EW. FUUUUUUUCK! Not only was this a really shoddy jail cell, it was a fucking sewer! The slavers didn’t even take the time out to clean up. Voice looked around to make sure no one was around.
When he didn’t see anyone he created a small wave of water, to clean out his cell. As the water pushed the fecal matter to the edge of his cell something dropped from the ceiling. He didn’t really need to inspect it to find out what it was. When I said it was a sewer, I wasn’t SERIOUS! Yep, the latrine was located directly above the jail cells. While pushing that outside he noticed that on the other side of his cell was another row of cells.
As his eyes adjusted to the darkness, he realized the cells were all made by iron bars. In the cell opposite his, was a person. Well he assumed it was a person. His eyes started adjusting to the darkness more and more quickly.
The person in the other cell was most likely the ex-mayor. She was huddled into the corner of her cell. It seemed as though she was trying to avoid as much of the fecal matter as possible. Voice called out to her, in a whisper. “Hey! Are you the mayor?” He wanted to be sure. Since she was looking at the ground she didn’t seem to notice him using water magic.
He spoke a little louder. “HEY!” He shouted. Startled the person looked at him. By this time his eyes were fully adjusted, he could see as if the saw were about to peek over the horizon.
This woman was covered in fecal matter. It looked as if she had been starved for many weeks. Given only the bare minimum to live. Voice’s Inspect was having a field day. It classified many external injuries, and even said she was under the effect ‘starvation’. It identified the substance on her was indeed feces.

She only had 5% of her total health! Voice focused on her. He couldn’t touch her, as the length between the cells was about ten feet. Each cell itself was only six feet. He had never healed from far away before, and he didn’t want to expose Sol.
He remembered the first time he had healed Troy. He pictured the mana flowing out of his body, and into Troy’s. He had imagined all of Troy’s injuries knitting themselves back together. All of his aches and bruises being fixed.
He did the same this time. He pictured his mana flowing into the woman’s body. Inspect told him most of her external injuries, so it was easy to imagine them coming together. The mana expenditure was enormous. Even with his 30% mana reduction, it cost over 100 mana just to close a small wound! Normally that much would be enough to close most of the small wounds on her body. Luckily the gem didn’t absorb any of the mana Voice sent to her.
She looked up, as she felt some of her wounds healing. She looked around frantically. As her eyes finally came upon Voice, she gasped. “HU! You’re real!?” She nearly shouted. “I thought you were just a trick of my mind!” She started to look excited. After only a brief moment of hope gracing her face, she turned sour again. “I wish you weren’t here. That means the scum got the entire city under their thumbs.” She looked dejected.
Voice healed her for as much as he could, before talking. “Don’t worry. I am making a plan to get us out. I need you to tell me the schedule here.”
“Schedule?” There was no way someone not dealing with the slavers could know about a schedule. She was indeed on a schedule. The water would rise, go down, then she could eat. Unless he was one of the slavers he couldn’t know about it.
“Well I just thought they must have some sort of feeding schedule. If they feed you erratically, then my job gets a lot harder. Isn’t there a certain time of day you get fed? Or, from the look of you, a certain time every few days?”
Elvina thought, Maybe he is part of the slaver crew. I don’t care anymore. He did heal me. Wait! How did he heal me? Her thoughts seemed to clarify after realizing that. He HAS to be part of the slavers! The main reason the slavers were able to capture her, was the fact that they found an anti-magic Mana Crystal vein in a mine. This stone absorbs all magic around it. There was no way they would be stupid enough not to cuff a mage.
“So how did you manage to hide the fact that you were a mage?” She tried to act excited, but the fact that she was covered in the slavers refuse made it hard.
Voice saw that she was beginning to warm up to him… NOT. Inspect told him she was 83% untrusting and 13% deceitful.
So she thinks I’m a slaver. Hm… I need her trust in order to conquer this place quicker.
Voice replied, “I didn’t. They knew I was a mage. So they put this on me.” He showed her the gem. He gave a small chuckle. “Of course they don’t know I’ve been blessed by the gods. My name is Voice0fReason. I am the Chosen of Mar, and I will free this town!” He said the last as if it were a triumphant roar, interrupted only by the feces suddenly dropping behind him.

He closed his eyes, and focused on the image of water pouring into Elvina’s cell. If he was going to get Undine’s blessing, he wanted to do this the right way. He was going to impress Elvina, then he would get her ass to help him.
He noticed a pull in his mana. He looked over while still trying to push the mana out. A small waterfall had appeared on the back wall of her cell. He gave himself a congratulatory smile. The mana cost was not as high as the healing, but it was still quite high. He could only clean out about half of her cell. The rest was pushed towards the bars. The girl herself noticed what was happening, and went under the waterfall. She took the quickest shower in human history. It only lasted about 30 seconds.
Undine has noticed your kindness towards her Chosen One.
Undine has granted you 5 Water Affinity.
He thought about sending Sol out there as recon, but the possibility of losing Sol was too substantial. First thing I need to do is figure out how to make it so we don’t get shat on. He knew what he wanted to do, but didn’t know how.
While he was thinking about this conundrum, he realized his ankles had gotten wet. Voice crinkled his nose as he looked at the liquid. He noticed water mana was permeating the air. He looked around. He noticed the front of the cave had gone dark. He heard Elvina yell to him.
“The water is rising! You have to take a deep breath when it comes!” She seemed extremely frantic. I guess she wants to believe that I’m here to help.
Voice found himself cursing Davros. If this damn ring wasn’t cursed I would be able to breathe! His cursing did nothing to stem the flow of the water. He tried using water magic to push to away, but the vast amount of water was too much.
The water was up to his hips. The mayor was still alive, so there must be a way to survive, but he didn’t have time to figure it out. He had an idea. The water was rising quickly. In only a few seconds, it was up to his chest. Voice focused on what he called his turtle defense.
He sloshed over to the corner. When the water reached the middle of his chest, Voice started channeling earth magic. The earth around him started to form. It slowly sprung from the ground. The water was already up to his neck at this time. His earth barrier was quick, but so was the water.
Time again seemed to slow for Voice. He felt the water rise, caressing his body with the sweet scent of oncoming death. The earth was arching towards Voice’s head. Voice was lifted off his feet by the water. His substantial 200 pounds (Weight plus food) was floating towards the ceiling. He barely managed to push his lips above the water for one last breath.
The earth barrier finished just as it was completely filled with water.
