Wow! 100th chapter guys! It’s amazing that we made it this far! Hm, I feel like I should do something special. !!! I got it! I’ll give you all a teaser! SO, Voice is a bit weird right? Can any of you figure out why? I’ve hinted at it several time throughout the chapters. In fact, it involves one of the first few chapters. I wonder what it is…? If any of you can guess it in the comments, you get a few virtual cookies.
Voice approached a town with his puppet in tow. They had taken two days to arrive here. Voice sped both of them up with his buff. Because of Kyle’s inability to think at fast speeds, Voice had to basically drag him.
Voice made sure Kyle wouldn’t disobey several times. He tried letting him stay by himself for several hours, and only giving him the command, ‘Stay alive.’ Kyle didn’t move at all except when a small snake passed by. He immediately killed the snake. Although it probably wouldn’t have caused harm to his body, Kyle interpreted Voice’s command as ‘kill anything that might pose a threat.’
Kyle didn’t say anything on the way to the other village. He perfectly obeyed Voice’s orders, but always tended to be violent in his interpretations of them. When thinking about it, Voice wasn’t bothered.
At least I know he won’t have trouble killing.
Despite killing off an entire town, Voice still felt like personally killing the NPCs wasn’t a smart idea. He decided to make the boy do as much of the dirty work as he was competent enough to do.
The night sky was overcast. Voice was in a foul mood. He had just gotten a message from Chao. The message made it clear, in no uncertain terms, that his city was being destroyed. The only up side seemed to be that the bandits came back for revenge. The bandits cleverly hid in the surrounding area, and used guerrilla tactics to kill the dragons. Of course it was a fruitless effort. Only the female leader could actually manage to take one on.
She did her best though. Using the several hundred bandits she brought with her, she managed to take out three of the dragons already.
Nightmare-Wing was steadily taking on the dragons, but seemed to die constantly. Something Voice was interested in was the fact that the Gryphon seemed to come alive after only a few moments of death. The dragons seemed incapable of stopping him. Although… His attacks were almost a joke to them.
He had killed one dragon cocky enough to try to eat him, but otherwise had a hard time actually killing the rest. He had been battling for half a day when the bandits arrived.
Voice didn’t want to wait for dawn. He decided might time would have to do for his plans. “Kyle. I’m going to change my face. You must obey me, even when my face is new. Only obey me if I am in one of the faces you have seen me change in to.”
With that, Voice changed into another face. Not before saving the disguise Karma Lithe of course. He gave himself a youthful chubby look. He looked like he was the overweight scion of a noble family.
“Now go. Get someone to follow you. It doesn’t matter who. Just make sure they are alone.”
Voice watched for any sign of rebellion, but there were none. Honestly, he felt a bit disappointed that the boy didn’t rebel. He kept feeling like something had to go wrong. There was no way EDITOR would allow him to get this much power. Power to manipulate someone’s mind? Never.
Making dragons attack his city wasn’t enough to stop him. EDITOR could only make patches when his power was too high. So she had to do something else. Voice felt like he had to prepare for everything. He couldn’t let anything go wrong.
Using his disguise ability, Voice erased all traces of the Runes on Kyle’s body. Kyle bowed, and began h heading toward the town.
While Kyle was gone, Voice began to think. He began to think about what Chao had told him. Gravity magic created my backpack… But if that’s true, why does it look like a fusion of other types of mana?
Chao had said that many types of mana were sealed up. But that would mean that they were independent types of mana. Not a combination of other types of mana. So Voice couldn’t make sense of the idea that the magic type would be composed of several types of other mana.
But that would mean the spell that makes up my backpack is a unique mana type. Then why does it really seem to be made up of different mana types?
Voice began puzzling it out. After several minutes of intense thought, he came to a semi-plausible conclusion. What if it’s EDITOR’s fault?
Realization suddenly dawned on him. EDITOR had made it so the people of Solun couldn’t understand the ideas and science from the real world. So it would make sense that it could be done with actual people. The NPCs might have been easy to fool since they were just barely existences, but a human mind?
Voice gawked at the idea. But EDITOR had made it so time moved faster than in the human world. She even made it possible to download data directly into one’s mind. That’s what happened when he learned to make his clone.
Voice began pacing as he thought aloud. His body flitted through the densely packed trees and underbrush. “Even if it wasn’t EDITOR, it could have easily been that other person. Whoever it was that put the chaotic beings into such a dire straight.”
As Voice mused, he sensed two light mana signatures rapidly approaching. When he became aware of the lights, he shook himself out of his thoughts. Gotta play this out right.
He stealthily snuck behind the two signatures, by using his shoes to walk on air. Without a single sound, Voice appeared behind them.
Voice listened for a moment using his wind mana.
“*Huff* Alright boy. Where’s your sister? If you lied to me, I’ll gut you!.”
A smile spread across Voice’s face. Scum is the best to control. No one will care if he goes missing.
Voice teleported behind the man. In an instant he had activated all of the same skills and spells as he had with Kyle. After knocking the man out, he covered his entire body with various runes meant to make controlling him easier. Voice cloaked the three of them in darkness mana, and used wind mana to blow away the flames before they reached anywhere they might cause harm.
Voice began absorbing all of the nearby mana to fuel himself. Since he was using darkness and wind mana in addition to the spells and skills he had used with Kyle, he needed to restore it much more quickly.
Voice became like a funnel for all of the magic around him. Wind began gusting towards him in a cyclone. The moment it came within six or so feet of him, it suddenly disappeared. The darkness and shadows around him did the same.
The sky eventually became devoid of any noticeable wind, and the landscape became a pale gray instead of a blackness that it should have been. The entire time, the man was being roasted alive, while Voice’s insidious skills wormed inside his mind.
Even a man with more willpower than Voice would have trouble keeping his mind intact after a dozen minutes of this torture. Voice simply kept himself filled with mana. He ignored the soundless screams of the man, and funneled more and more mana into the entire process.
After two hours of this, Voice decided it should be enough. According to Instant Analysis, the man was only feeling loyalty.

“I am Karma Lithe! I am your Alchemist Master! Obey my orders! Stand at attention!”
The man instantly shot to his feet.
“Only obey the one called Karma Lithe. Only obey Karma lithe if he has my face. This is my face. You must obey me, even when my face is new. Only obey me if I am in one of the faces you have personally seen me change in to.”
The man nodded seriously.
“Good. Let’s go. Both of you, follow me. We are going to a different town.”
The two quickly followed him.
When they reached another town, they convinced one more person to come out alone. Voice did the same to that person, and then the four continued on to the next village. This continued for two in-game weeks.
Occasionally he would go scout himself, often dressing as a feeble old man. He would find someone to kidnap, and have his people go about doing it for him.
During this time, Voice gathered a sizable force. More than twenty people had been either kidnapped, tricked, or otherwise coerced into joining Voice’s small army. During these two weeks, Voice preformed several experiments. His end goal was the total knowledge over what was truly magic.
He used three people, out of his total of twenty, for these experiments. The first person he used was the second member of his thralls. He had infused as much mana from the various types into his body. After making sure his body could hold no more, Voice used his ability Forced Evolution.
Congratulations! Thrall 3 has evolved into a mana Wraith!
Mana Wraiths have a unique Racial Ability to command all mana types in a designated area. Mana Wraiths can wretch away mana from others, as easily as one might wretch away another’s sword.
The man still looked human, but had a faint glow about him. He seemed to have control over a very short range of mana. About five feet or so. Any mana within that sphere was under his control. Voice could still win in a battle of who could actually control that mana though.
The second person was a mishap. When the Forced Evolution ability was done with its recharge, Voice used it again. Voice buffed Thrall 4, with every buff he could think of. After finishing he used his ability.
Instead of something great happening, the person simply exploded out in a grisly scene of blood and viscera.
The last was Kyle. He constantly fused large amounts of darkness mana into Kyle’s body. At the same time, he would take out the light mana.
Eventually Kyle’s body began to slow down in the production of the light mana. The darkness mana began to become thicker and thicker in his body. Every pour in his body would occasionally ooze pure darkness.
Over the course of the two weeks, Kyle began to show signs of decomposition. As if he were a living corpse. Of course, Voice would heal him after each night. It wouldn’t do to have his subject die one him.
After enduring ten days of experimentation, Kyle’s body finally gave out. Voice was infusing darkness mana into him, while extracting light mana.
When the darkness mana began oozing out of his skin, Voice stopped the process. But the oozing continued, heedless of Voice’s wants. The darkness began to eat away at the light mana inside Kyle’s body.
Voice activated his own darkness mana to combat the situation, but suddenly stopped himself. This could prove interesting.
Voice watched as Kyle’s skin began to shrink around his bones, as if he were quickly losing all liquids in his body. His eyes began to rot, and his hair and nails grew at an exceptionally quick rate. In moments he looked like he had been mummified for dozens of years.
Zombify
This spell replaces the light mana one’s body naturally produces, with darkness mana. When enough darkness mana has been infused, the subject becomes undead.
The base spell cost for this spell is 500 darkness mana of purity 100, or an equivalent amount.
The zombie will retain all memories and emotions that it had in life. All physical attributes will be drastically reduced.
“Go hit that tree.” Voice gave him an order. The mummified Kyle went over and hit the tree. Voice’s face turned sour as he watched. Kyle’s speed could only be considered a slow crawl. Voice couldn’t help but frown.
He began replacing the darkness mana with light mana, when he suddenly had another idea.
He quickly took one of his other thralls. “You! Thrall 3. Hurt yourself, but don’t kill yourself.” Without hesitation, the thrall threw itself against a tree. Voice watched as it began to hurt itself more and more. When the thrall’s hp dropped below one third, Voice activated his spell.
Heal Over Time
Heals the target’s health by ((40 + light affinity) * Aura) over the course of five seconds.
The base spell cost for this spell is 35 mana.
The healer must indicate a target within five feet for this spell to be effective.
One of his first spells. He tacked on ten of them to the thrall. The fused together to form a new spell.
Major Heal Over Time
Heals the target’s health by ((40 + light affinity) * Aura * 8) over the course of five seconds.
The base spell cost for this spell is 250 mana.
The healer must indicate a target within five feet for this spell to be effective.
With 70 light affinity, Voice now healed (110)(1.1)(2), or 2420 points over five seconds. So a total of 484 per second. Voice made the spell permanent for 252.5 mana.
“Why the hell hadn’t I thought of this before!?” In his excitement Voice completely forgot about healing Kyle. Kyle began degrading faster and faster.
Voice ordered thrall 3 to stop, then promptly took the buff off. The next moment, Voice felt more alive than he ever had. His health regen just went from 1 point every second, to 484 per second. Even while in his sped up form, it would still be more than 30 each seeming second.
“I need to fight something.”
His town had been attacked. According to Chao, the dragons were on the brink of destroying his entire city. Most of the city was in ruins, but some of it still stood. The castle in particular.
During the two weeks the dragons had all but obliterated the bandits, but the bandits came back over and over. Each time they came back, they would take one or two of the dragons down. Nightmare-Wing continued to do small amounts of damage to the dragons over the course of that time.
The oddest thing was that the castle seemed to be unapproachable with mana. Chao had noted to him a few days prior, that the area around the castle seemed unusually empty of mana. Voice almost instantly came up with the reason.
Could my mana purifiers be the reason? They do absorb mana, but they don’t have a very large range. How could they absorb enough mana to make the entire region void of mana?
When the dragons attacked the area, their various magical attacks were basically consumed by the area around the castle. Johnny had been too afraid to approach the castle without the dragons, but the dragons could do nothing to the castle.
“Alright Thralls. You all are to follow any undead moles that lead you underground to a dungeon. When there you will patrol the dungeon until you die. Only hunt other humanoids.”
Voice obviously told Chao of his plan as he ordered a tunnel to be dug to his location. Let’s see if I can’t take out a few dragons.
