Chapter 14.5 Yaaay, my food!
“Mmm…”
I rolled over, lying on my back, and was fully satisfied. Empty plates, stacked on top of each other, littered the counter.
“How can a tiny cat eat that much. Do you have a bottomless hole as stomach?” The wolf woman laughed.
“Maybe, who knows…” I thought as I melted away in absolute bliss.
“Ha-ha, it’s always great to see someone enjoying my food!” The muscle man exclaimed energetically as always.
“I’m glad this incident got resolved so quickly.” The calm man said while looking at me. “Who would have thought it was a case of sabotage.”
“How disgraceful, wanting to destroy other restaurants just so your own can flourish!” The muscle man added, with a manly tear leaving his eyes.

“…” I observed them as I let my head hanging in the air.
“While we are on the topic, we finally found the merchant that sold the perpetrator the magic whistle.” She said annoyed and gulped down her drink.
“He possessed all kinds of illegal goods. Because of all this, I had a ton of paperwork to do, and Veronica didn’t let me leave until I had finished everything!” She complained, resting her head on the counter.
“And then there is the mystery of who killed the perpetrator and froze the whistle. The magicians still couldn’t melt the ice… Well, maybe it’s better this way; the “Rattenfänger von Hameln” is a dangerous magic item after all.” She looked in my direction.
“Meow?” I tilted my head innocently.
“Christian, do you know what the kids said that we rescued?” She continued to stare at me…
“A black cat apparently spoke to them and made them ice flowers.” She added…, still staring at me…
“Meow?” I looked at her with big eyes exuding pure innocence.
“Children sure have a lot of imagination.” He looked at me amused…
“…”

“We are finally here!” A man exclaimed as he looked from a hill into the distance, the moonlight revealing a silhouette of the port town.
The small winged creature next to him nodded excitedly, “They are definitely in this town!”
