Chapter 1 fight

Chapter 1 fight

The sky is clear,

No clouds in sight,

The small forest is lush green,

Brimming with life,

“A trip to the forest, spending time in nature is great and all, but I would rather lay on a tree now and enjoy the nice breeze instead of hunting…”

*sigh*

“But what can you do when the town you currently live in is about to be “attacked” by sneaky monsters and the inhabitants of said town haven’t noticed them yet…”

While I was complaining in my mind, I trotted through the abundant lush green forest on my way to exterminate the pesky little monsters that planned to sneak into town.

I saw them one night when I was wandering on the town wall, surveying the area to find a way in…

They are small and good at hiding, so most people won’t notice their presence, and they tend to sneak into homes to cause mischief, causing the home owners nothing but misfortune.

If it were one or two, I would have ignored them as long as they wouldn’t inhabit a house that I frequent, but…

“Why are there so many?!” I shouted in my mind.

In this forest near the town, there are over twenty Kobolds hiding, waiting for their chance…

“That’s abnormal I never heard of so many gathering in one spot…”

My train of thoughts came to a halt, I hid myself in the thicket…

“Found them…”

I could hear them talking in an unknown language… if you can call these weird high-pitched noises that, but they seem to understand each other…

There they were, a large group of small grotesque locking humanoid creatures with pointy ears…

“Are they maybe the ugly cousin of elves...?” I thought to myself jokingly.

I observed them for a while, it seems that they stole random stuff from the town or from elsewhere, hoarding it here…

“Let’s get this over with…”

I emerged from my hiding spot and walked towards the Kobolds, who in surprise started to panic for a moment…

until one pointed its ugly finger at me, snickering…

“Wow…”

The others also seemed to lose their initial fear…

“Sure, I look like a cute innocent cat, but…”

“Yeah, you did it…”

“I’m pissed…”

“I don’t care anymore…”

“Let’s just slaughter them and be done with it…”

I changed in an instant to my bigger form and adjusted its size to that of a big wolf. If I had to describe my appearance, I would say I look like a fantasy version of a panther now.

Anyway, just like I hoped for the snickering of the Kobolds vanished and got replaced with terror, some froze in place while others tried to run away, but before they could do so, spears of ice swiftly empaled them.

It was a one-sided massacre, they could do nothing but cower in fear, awaiting their icy deaths…

A few minutes passed and I was done…

The stuff collected by the Kobolds scattered around and tiny corpses impaled on crystal-clear ice spears that had a tint of sky blue littered the forest ground…

Rays of sun shone through the green canopy, reflecting on the ice.

The lush green of the plants and the blue-tinted ice complemented each other well,

The scene looked straight out of a painting…

Birds and other insects could be heard.

I plugged out one of the spears and took the Kobold previously impaled in my mouth.

“The ice should melt soon…”

Once I was near the entrance of the forest, I laid the dead Kobold down.

“This way, it shouldn’t take long until someone finds it.”

People often come near this forest or go in it, the reason why they hadn’t discovered the Kobolds was probably due to them hiding deep in the forest were rarely someone ventures into.

“There you are, I thought you wouldn’t come today anymore.” The calm man said to me while I sat at my usual place “Bruno is out buying ingredients, he said he wants to try a new dish.”

He started petting my head like usual… “So you will have to wait a bit.”

“Hmm, I don’t care.” I thought.

“But that you would come this late, don’t tell me you made friends?”

“Did you play with them?”

“Well, I guess you could word it that way…”

“I hope you won’t leave us…” the man made an exaggerated pitiful face, while lifting me up and cuddling me…

I smacked my paw in his face.
