*BOOM!*
*BOOM!*
*BOOM!*
*BOOM!*
*BOOM!*
…
The broken weaponry going off in a set of fiery explosions melded well together with Noel’s charge. He reached out with his bloody left hand for his needle that’d been clenched tightly in his right fist. The blood stained the needle, triggering it to sizzle.
Leos’s murderer barely mustered the forebearing and wisdom to shift his body slightly, milliseconds before contact with the needle. It still penetrated, and thanks to Noel’s reaction timing being greater than his by default, while also already half-expecting him to try dodging…
The preteen’s wrist swerved a tad, angling the needle in the midst of penetration.
He couldn’t activate his destructive touch because it was currently at work inside his OWN body, so he resorted to a more...crafty method.
.
.
.
*BOOM!*
Unfortunately, Noel’s attack didn’t do more than penetrate his skin before the angled needle cut through unresisted air. It was spot on before, aiming for the skin connecting the man’s right armpit to his right pectoral. Furthermore, that man’s teleportation device wouldn’t have helped him, since Noel came to realize that it only activated when specific locations were targeted. And the area he chose had already been struck before by a needle during one of their last high – speed exchanges!
...Which is why it’s too bad One managed to tilt his body some. That forced Noel to tilt his weapon, and although he was CLOSE to the original spot...he still made contact with the right pectoral. It was like drawing a red line from one part of the man’s skin, to the other. Noel tried retracing that line to return his family crafted needle to its designated starting point, but failed thanks to an untimely...or TIMELY in the mercenary’s point of view...surgically implanted teleport badge. This meant that the bloody needle managed to break skin, PLUS drill straight through his armored inner wear, but not inflict damage.
Yes, no damage was inflicted. All that happened, was Noel getting some of his own blood onto One’s flesh wound and under armor.
*Tsssssss!*
And the moment One teleported in Noel’s blind spot...that created the ‘distance’ his ‘Vengeful Blood’ curse required to activate.
*BOOM!!*
Noel turned around, smug in his own head, yet still showing that calm, killer smile up to the very end.
This damned smile was going to haunt him for a long time.
…
One was feeling down right now.
He was busy beating himself up over his poorly planned actions, while simultaneously teleporting farther away from the boy. Hopefully that leg injury slows down his speed enough...
1: “(AAAAAH!! How could I mess up this badly?! How could I make such a newbie mistake?!?! To…
To ACTUALLY LET my opponent break free from my grasp, without paying attention to my loss of control over his body! HOW could I allow my opponent to WOUND me?!? I can’t feel my right side, OR the lower half of my forearm! HOW could I abandon watching my prey?!
How can I lose focus during a battle?!
Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon.
HOW could I forget to pay attention to my comrades??
.
.
Especially Six!!
Then there’s my gas beasts...they’re probably gone…
..
Hm? Is that…
No…
No-no…
Wait a--yes! It’s faint but I can still sense them! They’re disappearing fast but...*Come back now!*
...Okay.
Great.
For some reason he’s not moving, either. He’s only staring at me… I wonder why?
…weird freak.
…
Either way, it’s good that he’s not moving. Good news for me.
I can’t move my body well right now. First it was my knee. Soon after came my right arm and the entirety of my right side. If I use the magnetic gas beasts once again...or what remains of them...I should be able to ‘just’ move my leg. I have about 5 patches left on my cranium, my pelvic region, my lower spine, my heart and I HAD one that covered my right pectoral...but the damned brat just wasted it. DAMN!
Still, this time I’m ready for it.
If I can trick him into hitting me at those targeted spots somehow...Fine then! Let’s see what you can do, kid!
.
.
.
WAIT a minute!
NO! I can’t fight him any longer! I need to rescue Six. I have to ensure she remains uninvolved in this!)”
This conversation with himself was summed up in the 10 seconds that followed behind him distancing himself as far away as possible to reorganize his priorities.
He swiftly pulled out a strange compass, and begun concentrating.
1: “Mmnnngh. This will at the very least, absorb my life force in exchange for the necessary energy to open a spacial gate at the inputted coordinates. It’s too far for me to manage on my own. What I CAN do though…”
*Swoosh!*
Rise: “Grrahahaha! I’ve played with you long enough – it’s TIME for you to---wait.
…
…
…
Wha? Where the heck am I no--”
*SWOOSH*
…
*Clang!*
From a spacial gate, fell Rise and all of his werebeast glory. Along with him came 4, but the man was clearly on the verge of death. His body was sliced up while remaining intact; all except for one of the young man’s arms. his face looked slightly disfigured with all the cuts decorated on his cheeks, beneath the chin, around the eyebrows, all over the forehead, directly down the nose, ACROSS the nose, four long streaks beneath each eye, along the temple, scratches behind and atop the two ears from the upper ridge down to the lobe, Across the upper lip, and slanted from the bottom lip, connecting to his chin.
his one good arm was mangled beyond reason, with one of his fingers leaving an empty hole behind instead. Similar to his face, his good arm bore too many scars to count. It couldn’t be called anything else other than ‘unsightly’.
To prevent him from moving, the legs were twisted in two different directions. He wasn’t even conscious any more.
{Rise must have used him for stress relief.}
The moment the two landed on the soil surface beneath them with double ‘plops’, A gravity and friction enhanced blade came slicing through Rise’s neck!
…
Well, the side of it anyhow. Just as it drew blood – a man with wavy white hair
grabbed onto the deadly blade that threatened to chop through yet, another student’s throat.
Mr. Abrams: “Hmm. I don’t think this is proper behavior of a staff member. Could you...perhaps, have come here with the intent to kill?”
1: “Aaahh, FUCK! It’s the Monitor Man! JUST my fucking luck!”
Mr. Abrams: "…”
…
Going back to the point after the white light appeared, reviving the non-combatants entirely… He decided to briefly ‘ignore the ass-pull like power and search for the missing students. Upon searching, his ‘remote viewing’ stumbled across a strangely high level battle. Well, the first was a gigantic monster toying around with a one - armed spearsman – except both were flying across a clearing in the middle of the forest at speeds breaking the sound barrier. Furthermore; A huge amount of broken metal littered the field. So much so, that there was actually more metal than dirt flooring!
Mr. Abrams: “...Why is a random monster fighting a random one armed man in the vicinity of my students’ dorm? And furthermore...why does that beast have such a familiar energy signature??”
In another part of the forest – Mr. Abrams saw a scene completely horrific. Trees were eliminated in a wide marginal area. Blood and metal also cluttered the space, but what was really shocking was the amount of damage dealt to both parties.
… and one of the fighters HAPPENED to be Noel!!
Mr. Abrams was alarmed. The boy in his vision harbored a scary - looking injury embedded deep within his shoulder. His leg dripped blood onto the crushed bullets and blades all around his general space. To push this little brat so far...usually villains, even master martial artists would’ve fallen to him fairly quickly.
Just as he was about to step in...
*BOOM!*
Noel dashed! Like a runaway train, he managed to cross the field faster than a single second. But right after contact was made...the man disappeared.
And THEN his whole right section of skin exploded.
What exactly is going on here….
He expected this much from Noel, but that man...Just who is he? Mr. Abrams was very tempted to intervene. Seeing his student bloodied like that hurt his heart – even though he barely had any contact with him – such a sight filled his heart with pangs of regret. He WANTED to bring that man over and beat him up, or save his student and ask for an update on the ENTIRE evening’s situation.
But no. That didn’t happen.
It COULDN’T happen, because only now, would he be able to rhythmically help every single non - combatant to seek shelter away from the school.
He needed to expend energy to catch Ian, Li Shun, Brennan and the rest. Because of that fact, his priority was to recover his own students! And recover he shall!
