Chapter 121 – Wonderful Mr. Onareilam

Mr. Abrams: “You…

.

.

Haah. Look, enough with these games, kid. I know how you act… how you behave towards others and how hard you work to ensure a safe distance from everybody around you is kept. I can’t possibly fathom what you’re hiding; but so long as you are a faculty member inside of this school, you WILL protect the children of this school equally! If you don’t: Then I won’t hesitate to contact that Magic school teacher from Justice Heights. Do I make myself clear?”

Mr. Onareilam(Aeron): “Hahaha! *Shakes head* Ah Mr. Abrams, Mr. Abrams, Mr. Abrams. I understand what you’re trying to do here, I really do, but seriously… The only thing that irks me more than a need for dependency on others is the foolish desire to USE that same dependency to cover up one’s mistakes! DON’T you dare try blaming me for your failures! If you want those kiddos protected that badly; then stop sniveling and do it yourself, you washed up has-been of a l-!”

*Riiing!*

Mr. Abrams: “...Since you aren’t listening to reason...Ah. Yes, hello? Is this per chance, the number of Mrs. Dubois? Yes, It’s Houdini, yes, hello. My project? Ah...that one. Well, it’s a work in progress. Sad to say it still fails, but I’ve run into some recent...inspiration, that may change all of that. For the time being, I wished to discuss a matter of utmost importance with you: regarding-”

Mr. Onareilam(Aeron): “Ah, no, no, no, no – stop: stop – stop! Okay, OKAY! You win. I’ll do a better job keeping an eye out for the little balls of snot. BUT I won’t go around the entire campus like you! I’m sticking mainly to my stations and nothing more.”

Mr. Abrams: “--Regarding...Regarding the recent troubles we’ve run into with our magic defenses. Why am I of all people asking about magic defense? Well, you know that MY personal specialty lies heavily towards CREATION magic and enchantments. Just tell me a date so we can meet up. Tomorrow? …I’d prefer if it was next weekend.

This weekend? Yes, I did say it was an emergency, but I’m planning a little ‘field trip’ for the kids. They’ve had a very rough first day today and can use a break.

You know what? I do need to speak with you tomorrow, as it turns out, so we can continue then. No. It isn’t something We can chat about over the phone or in person. We can do the usual. Thanks.”

Mr. Onareilam(Aeron): "You two sound pretty chummy. Hmph! I’m taking my leave. This atmosphere is depressing.”

Mr. Abrams: “Aww. Why, don’t you feel like checking up on your ‘baby brother’ anymore? I’ll definitely allow it. Hehe.”

Aeron: “That ungrateful rugrat doesn’t deserve my attention. He outwitted me!”

Mr. Abrams: “...I saw. Chip off the old block, eh? Hehe.

I do faintly remember a certain somebody calling the other 9 families for help after outwitting Jraedan Malierano and earning his ire. I wonder who it was that day...it feels so long ago.

Then there was the beating they received. It continued well in the day before somebody finally intervened on their behalf and stopped him… I’m also a little curious who that person was~”

Aeron: “...Your mother.”

Mr. Abrams: “…Would you care saying that again…?”

Aeron: “...I have absolutely no idea as to what you’re talking about, teacher Abrams. If it will make you feel any better though, I’ll stop those nurses from killing themselves. Deal?”

*Whoosh!*

Before Mr. Abrams can respond, Mr. Onareilam(Aeron) is already opening the double doors that lead directly into the school nurses’ protection ward. No matter how angry the homeroom teacher was, he couldn’t do anything but return to both bodies he’d placed in a magically frozen state – completely unbothered by time itself.

And as for the pouting gym teacher…

Aeron: “A barrier. Anti-Space… powerful against molecule disruption via vibration, but not immune. ‘Like the old days’ huh? Guhuhuhu~ Too bad, that times have changed! These people have to adapt.”

A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.

*VRRRRRRRRR!*

The barrier didn’t hold up at all. He didn’t break it or anything, but his body actually walked through it as if its presence was merely an illusion. As if all reality itself were an illusion at his mercy, and for him alone, to play with.

*CREEEEEAK!*

Georgia: “Dome, is everything all right out th-GEH!”

Winney: “Abrams? Is that you? How are thing going with the intru...der- …Um.

Well now, you’re not who I thought you were.”

Ava: “Who are you?! How did you enter this barrier – protected room?! What happened to Dome and Mr. Abrams?! If you think that we are so easily scared by your presence, then you don’t really know who your messing with!!”

Wuce: “Ava … Ava STOP! He’s…”

Mr. Onareilam(Aeron): “Guhuhuhu, how feisty~ Although I don’t particularly mind that trait. Fear not everyone: I have arrived at last to save you from your heavy burdens. That’s right! I’m-!”

Wuce: “The executioner! He’s – He’s the bloodthirsty executioner!”

Mr. Onareilam(Aeron): “…”

Georgia: “*Gasp!* The Executioner?!”

Winney: “Wait.”

Ava: “And why would the infamous executioner grace us with his presence...?”

Winney: “Wait. Guys!”

Wuce: “*Grits teeth* Everyone stay back! I’ll hold him off while you sound-”

Winney: “GUYS!! STOP PANICKING and listen! Isn’t he wearing a school uniform and a nametag?”

Georgia: “Oh. A teacher then?(Or is he the intruder in disguise that Mr. Abrams was searching for?)”

Wuce: “No...guys don’t fall for it - it’s a trick! A trap...!”

Ava: “Why do you think so, Wuce?”

Wuce: “Because...isn’t it obvious?! His eyes – just look at those eyes! They’re different colored – just like the rumored executioner!”

Ava: “But it’s a disorder anyone can have.”

Wuce: “How many people do you know have that disorder?!”

Mr. Onareilam(Aeron): “--The gym teacher.

...I am the new gym teacher. Nice to meet you. My name is Mr. - no - PROFESSOR Onareilam!

...Wuce, right? These are actually just contacts~ *Removes contacts* See? Brown pupils!”

Georgia: “…”

Wuce: “Oh… But…

Fine. Sorry I accused you.”

Winney: “Hello Mr. Gym instructor sir~ Is there a specific reason why you’re here? And pray tell, how exactly did you enter our barrier without damaging it?”

Mr. Onareilam(Aeron): “You need to get some better tech. Barriers don’t really ‘work’ on me. I just assimilated with its energy frequency and signature in order to move through it like a fish in water. Actually, it’s more like I became ‘one’ with it than swam in it.

As for ‘why’ Well, Mr. Abrams sent me to help seal that kid’s curse *Points toward Noel*”

Winney: “Interesting. And how are you planning on dealing with it, exactly?”

Ava: “Honestly, we can deal with it ourselves. We don’t really need your-”

Aeron: “Hahahahaha! You mean you can ‘try’! Listen up! Do you know who…or better yet, WHAT this boy is?”

Georgia: “A victim.”

Wuce: “A sad and defeated child.”

Ava: “A brat in way over his head for attending this dump of a school so young and early.”

Winney: “A student whom Mr. Abrams tasked you with helping?”

Mr. Abrams: “While those were all correct answers...no! He is a...well, I’m not SUPPOSED to reveal it, so I do hope you’ll keep a secret for me. Let’s just say he is somebody the Hero Society rescued from the Malieranos’ research laboratories. But again, you didn’t hear it from me!”

Georgia: “…...Really?”

Ava: “And why exactly would he send you if this kid is so dangerous? Why not come personally?”

Mr. Onareilam(Aeron): “Because I’m very proficient with curses and enchantments. That’s why. Listen up: Mr. Abrams told me the three cursees to look out for within a malierano relative or failed test subject. Do you know what they are?”

Ava: “If it’s the ten families...I’d say the enemies they would make are massive. This could be any kind of curse. If they were an experimental subject as you say, could it be related to their own family’s protection? Blood...Hm. I’m thinking it’s some sort of bomb.”

Wuce: “Three things to watch out for...Enemies of their crime organization, becoming their target, and – wait; no you said curses.

.

.

I don’t know. One is obviously related to the kid’s blood though. That creepy stuff nearly gave me a heart attack when I tried removing it.”

Winney: “I dunno either, I give up. What are they Mr. gym instructor with a hard - to - pronounce – name?”

Georgia: “No. I don’t know what they are.

(Does Ava not know about the criminal side to them? No, all medical staff here HAVE to know. You won’t be capable of working here without information on every family or faction there is to deal with.)

Ava, are you implying the child belonged to their enemies?”

Ava: “No, I’m merely pointing out how this curse in the blood doesn’t have to be a type of protection. It could be a weapon used on others. Injections, for example.”

Mr. Onareilam: “Ahahaha! Thinking like a true medical expert! You were close on one of the three problems, but missed the other two entirely! The answer is actually:

One curse for the blood – to protect from all that dare to pry into the families secrets.

One for the soul, to ensure the test subject or family member stays loyal to the family.

And finally, one for the entire family: otherwise known as the curse of the fallen world tr—oops. I mean the Family Generational curse! Anyways, these three deadly curses are what makes dealing with a ‘Malierano’ difficult. Especially the blood one, considering your profession.”

Wuce: “Then ... then what do you suggest we do? We don’t exactly have much time left to waste running around searching for a curse magicia-oh. Oh~ THAT’S the real reason why you were sent by Mr. Abrams!”

Mr. Onareilam(Aeron): “I literally just said that.”
