Chapter 113 – Tension is high, patience is low.

Chapter 113 – Tension is high, patience is low.

Silence. Complete silence proves none of the current students meet Ms. Daisy’s criteria. Sure, they feel pain. That much is true. Some feel worse pain than others, but is it from a physical wound? Unless it’s beneath the skin, they couldn’t be sure. Without certainty, they don’t feel capable of ‘confirming’ anything.

Just as Ms. Daisy is right about to speak, Ophelia beats her to the punch.

Ophelia: “Ms. Daisy? Before asking all of us if we can confirm with you about whether or not we have a body injury-”

Ms. Daisy: “Oh, sweetie it doesn’t have to be a body. It may very well be a head injury as well!”

Oliviera: “Like mine! If I really died."

Ms. Daisy: “…..Right. Like….hers.”

Ophelia: “*Nods* I understand. Well, I just wanted to say, that Mr. Abrams, he-”

Oliviera: “Oooh, yes! That’s right! Ms. Daisy! Mr. Abrams is still gathering the other two!My original group included Rise and Noel, but we separated when this...really fast villain attacked! I thought I was gonna be safe after Noel asked me to get help from Mr. Abrams or somebody named Aaron, but then I got smacked in the nec- I – I mean head and died.”

Wayne: “He was acting suspicious too. Very suspicious – to the point where we almost suspected he was hiding something.”

Ms. Daisy: “Oh? Acting suspicious? Like how?”

Wayne: “He wanted to stay with Rise and HOLD OFF the villains while Leos and Oliviera ran away! Surely that was suspicious behavior!”

Ms. Daisy: “...Are...you sure he just didn’t want to slow you both down? OR maybe he only had a bit of heroics at play?”

Aly: “EXACTLY what I said Ms. Daisy! He’s only twelve! He probably wasn’t thinking.”

Wayne: “No! I normally would agree with you Alyandrea, but...but I can’t shake this sense of foreboding I’m getting! Maybe…

*GASP*

Maybe…! Maybe he’s in LEAGUE with them! Yes! That would explain-”

Elijah: “That would explain the reason why he stayed behind…! I see. He stayed behing on PURPOSE to slow Rise down. He SENT those two to their deaths by having them run straight into the other villain! AFTER doing this, he made Rise lose to the speedy villain by forcefully handicapping him! Either that, or he stalled Rise long enough to let the SECOND villain come! That would explain his erratic behavior! FIRST he sets everyone up against the school! SECOND he snuck pff, forcing Mr. Abrams to find him! He’s already argued with Rise nonstop today. Then he sent everyone away, only for themto be killed. And now...Mr. Abrams-”

*STOMP!*

A fierce stomp shook the forest slightly. It was obviously Ophelia.

Ophelia: “Shut UP Elijah. He isn’t like that.”

Wayne: “R-Re-Res-Respectfully, Ophelia. H-Ho-How would you know if you o-only met him today? Yo-You DID only m-meet today, right?”

Ophelia: “I only met him today. But he offered to be my friend. He helped me escape from bullies. I...I believe in him. So stop saying bad things, please? When...once Mr. Abrams comes back...we will have our answer.”

Elijah: “...Haah. Hahaha! I feel so foolish! Apoligies Ophelia. So many strange things are happening today that, I guess I’m a tad high-strung. Can you ever forgive me?”

Ophelia: “...Yes.”

Wayne: “I...I WANT to believe in him too! That he’s only being reckless, but the way it looks is-”

Aly: “You both are dumb. Stop the conspiracies already. What if the press heard what you’re saying? Imagine what other people will say about you out there! They might even blame the REST of us for this stuff, saying we’re all bullying him! Don’t drag me into your weird fantasies!”

Ian: “...As Alyandrea so aptly put it: your words are mere ‘conspiracies’ not facts. Noel seems like just a prideful little brat, who doesn’t like to be told no.. That said, he’s kind deep down. Ophelia knows that enough, and I’m sure that’s the REAL reason why he asked Oliviera and Leos to run away. The recklessness assumption makes sense, if you see his Assembly speech as Noel being unable to control his temper. Same with his arguments against Rise – they’re both just prideful!

Of course, this isn’t a fact either! But when Mr. Abrams comes back – like Ophelia mentioned already, we can ask him for the details then.”

Li Shun: “...This topic...I’m gonna stay out of it. Not my place to intervene.”

Brennan: “...Same for me. I’m staying out of this one. Besides, everybody sounds tense and on edge because of...well. You know.”

Li Shun: “...Yeah.”

Ophelia: “...Noel...Rise…Are you both alright?”

Brennan: “They’ll be fine Ophelia. BOTH of them will be alright. Mr. Abrams went there personally. He’s probably dealing with the enemies right now!”

Ms. Daisy: “...(Rather than physical injuries, though there is still a possibility of danger lurking deep within, I fear more importantly that these young’uns are starting to form mental scars. They’ll be needing a DIFFERENT type of treatment, soon.)”

Cass: “...Should we...still be here?”

Saphy: “We CAN’T leave! Not until we see the brave hero come back with the children alive and saved from the eveil mastermind villains OOH and – and the villains HAVE to be tied up by his side as well! Then – then…!”

Frieda: “I...don’t know about all THAT. But I also kinda want to see this play out til the end.”

Mrs. Haldeen: “Oh? So you three were here all this time? Well then. For sneaking out during an emergency, I’m sure you can prepare a 10 page essay of the ‘Dangers that sneaking out during an emergency‘ can produce. I can expect it to be done by tomorrow, yes?”

Frieda: “Wha-? You MONSTER! I was just helping them all HEAL!”

Cass: “*Nods* Yeah. Yeah. If not for us, gloomy mc - gloomerson over there *Points at Elijah* would still be crying and blaming himself about the OTHER guy *point’s toward Leos* and how he lost his head!”

Frieda: “You should be THANKING us for being kind enough to help the less fortunate, and possibly traumatized non-combatants! We were HELPING while you teachers were busy SCRAMBLING! And… And...*sniff* ten pages is too mu- *Sniffle* -much!”

Mrs. Haldeen: “...It seems ten pages is too small…!”

Saphy: “Girls...like, maybe answering back to the teach is the WRONG move…? Maybe, you both should…”

Cass: “...I apologize teacher Haldeen.”

Frieda: “My - My teacher! My savior! I truly apologize for my outburst! It was unseemly of me – truly unsightly of me! Please don’t think ill of me… OR increase the pages! DEFINITELY not the pages!”

Cass: “Yeah. *Nods* Yeah – Yeah. No more pages please!”

Mrs. Haldeen: “…”

While everybody was busy talking, Ms. Daisy had been adamantly walking around, touching the students in their shoulders, neck and arms with a number of different metal devices. One device took their temperature. Another scanned their body for unnatural energy insertion – that meant she had taken it out to ensure none of the villains left behind a wisp of energy to track the students down later on in the future.

She scanned each of the students with a number of medical devices that were all safe on the body. Only after she reached Ophelia, her last patient, did she take a bit longer while bringing a ‘special’ device out. This one looked like a metal stamp affixed with a wide suction pad on one end and a barcode on the other. It was FAR better suited to use when examining the student’s physical body, in relation to their sealed strength. It also helped to determine if the student’s seal was weakening for any reason. She just had to affix it to the student’s seal, almost always on their back, and let time continue flowing.

Ian: “...Ms. Daisy! *Waves* Over here! Over here! You – did you already finish checking if everybody was alright, physical injury-wise? I’m only asking because *points to Aria beside his knee* She needs to be looked after by a professional! I – I don’t have enough experience for this! I can’t get her to react or wake up no matter what I try!”

Ms. Daisy: “Just about. *BEEP!* (She’s okay. Her seal hasn’t weakened too much, yet.) Although...quick question for everyone; how many of you remember the way you died? If you don’t want to talk about it, I won’t force you to speak. But you may have to answer security’s inquiries in a bit.”

Brennan: “I remember I was shot and then my body exploded.”

Ian: “...Same as him.”

Alyandrea: “Oh, Ian~ I thought you didn’t believe in your own-”

Ian: “We went OVER this! Just drop it you – you moron!”

Alyandrea: “WHAT did you just call me-”

Ian: “I – I said-!”

Ms. Daisy: “Stop your yapping!”

Cass: “Pffft!”

Mrs. Haldeen: “AHEM! *Glares* What are you giggling about?”

Cass: “...Nothing(That wasn’t a giggle, stupid.).”

Mrs. Haldeen: “...This girl…”

Aly and Ian: “...Okay. We’re sorry.”

Li Shun: “I...kind of don’t remember...kind of do…”

Ian: “Pfft. Yeah right. Quit the tough act.”

Brennan: “I agree with him, Shun. You don’t need to hide it, all of us died the same way.”

Alyandrea: “I also feel like you should drop the tough guy act by now. *Nods* Don’t run from it. Overcome it!”

Li Shun: “...Thanks everyone. Ms. Daisy, I apparently died when I had my body exploded by this evil magical girl’s magic bomb bullets.”

Ms. Daisy: “(Magical girl? Magic Bomb bullets? Is she some kind of enchantress, or maybe a sort of magical engineer?)

Okay, alright. I understand how you three ‘died’ now. One last problem, what happened to the ‘girl’ that killed you? What do you all REMEMBER after you were mysteriously revived?”

Brennan: “Nothing. I don’t remember a single thing. The world went dark before my eyes, immediately after I woke up back in my body. I think… I truly think I might have died once again.”

Ian: “I was engulfed by a scary, forever expanding darkness. It was pitch black – a suffocating I vaguely remember. And I wish I DIDN’T remember. The world is so unfair… SO, completely……. unfair...”

Li Shun: “I died. Then I regained my life. Then my life flashed before my eyes once again. Was God laughing at my insignificant minuscule traces of misery? I would never know. Finally, I… I…”

Ophelia: “…”

Ms. Daisy: “…”
