Dome was happy. Finally…! The forest is in sight at last! Now they’ve gotta get in, carefully search for the security stationed to guide them all and begin examining the kiddos. He doesn’t exactly know WHAT is going on, but something had to have happened if all’a these nurses are involved.
.
.
.
then a white circle instantaneously materializes around them.
*Vwish!*
Dome: “Wha--
Aw hell...!! we just CAME from this place! Are you tellin’ me that we haf’ta start running from these nurses’ rooms, ALL the way back to the stupid forest?! Whose practical joke is this?! I don’t feel like doing it all over again, If I’m being honest.
But…
.
.
...SHIT! Haah. Let’s just ask security for a lift over there. Even though I was told not to trust anybody who wasn’t already selected for this job, I ain’t running that far a second time.”
Mr. Abrams: “Don’t worry; because you won’t have to head back there anymore. Security is performing a thorough clean sweep of the entire North-Western Forest. While all of that is going down, we’ll stay indoors and protect the nurses as they do their job.”
Dome: “Who? Oh. It’s you. What’s that you’ve got in your...gah! Wha-what the hell happened to this kid? Is he even alive anymore??”
Ms. Daisy: “Oooh…! Damn it, Dome! I TOLD you while I was askin’ if you could summon all the nurses you can trust! There was an attack on the non – combatants!”
Dome: “Well I FIGURED that much, Ms. Daisy. What I wanted to know was WHY does he look like a corpse already?! Ain’t this overkill considering we’re in the dead center of Herotopia? Heroes are littering the city. Our security staff is nearly as formidable as the city’s main police force! So how did the boy wind up in THIS sorry state, when that new place is supposed to be protected by one of the strongest security details around, and souped up with the greatest tech money can afford!?”
Ms. Daisy: “I...I don’t really know, Dome. Maybe the security doesn’t patrol that forest as extensively as we always thought? Maybe they DO patrol there, but the security officers on duty were taken out? Today shows us that there are way too many holes in our defenses.”
Dome: “But none of that explains WHY the security syste-"
Oliviera: “HELLOOO?! Stop plubbing TALKING and start EXAMINING! Just because the other nurses are moving Noel and Rise, doesn’t mean you both can IGNORE ME! My head hurts and SHE’S a nurse! Examine me, now!”
Ms. Daisy: “…...Dome, we’ll have to pick this up later. OKAY then. Just come with me to the next room and I’ll start checking you much more extensively than I did, back in the forest. Are you sure it’s only in the head that you feel pain, dear? I can have a teraher—erm, I mean a non - radiation based x-ray done for you?”
Oliviera: “Oh that won’t be necessary. Just give me a band – aid for my head and let me share a room with those two guys. I expect a room all to myself when I’m feeling a little better, possibly by the time they wake up. OH! Where are the showers?! I feel like a farm animal since I’ve been laying in the grass for SUCH a long time. I need a shower. Oh – Oh and-!”
Dome: “Huh? What’s this bratty thing talking about, Ms. Daisy? Since when d’you have showers in here?”
Ms. Daisy: “...I don’t. Little girl, who lied and told you I have a shower up in here?”
Oliviera: “*GASP!* ...What?! You don’t??
Stolen content warning: this tale belongs on Royal Road. Report any occurrences elsewhere.
Then - then you just LET your patients stay smelly??”
Ms. Daisy: "Does this look like a hospital to you? Darlin’ my patients at most, stay with me for 3 days. Sometimes it’s only 1 and USUALLY no longer than a few hours. I may be certified as both a doctor and a nurse off the clock, but I ain’t legally allowed to care for patients for longer than a school day without the approval of a nearby hospital staff validating my assistance to their patients and this ONLY applies when the hospitals can’t except any more patients. Aside from that, I’m only allowed to act as a Doctor if and WHEN an emergency calls for it. Somethin’ like right now. Does it look like those two sleepin’ beauties are askin’ for showers right about now? They won’t be waking up until we’re done curing them. THAT’S in no small part, thanks to a certain somebody who saved their lives. Your teacher. If you want to ask HIM for a shower...well dear, you go on and do that. You do look a bit...disheveled after your little run in. I agree that you could use one.
Showers...Did you think I lived here or something?”
Oliviera: “Wait. Wait just one moment. Are you telling ME that I have to wait 3 WHOLE DAYS in order to BATHE just...JUST because they aren’t awake to protest against this indecency?! You – you DICTATORS! Do you REALIZE how smelly humans can get after not showering for 3 WHOLE DAYS?! Because I don’t plan on finding out! I DEMAND a shower! Now! Pronto! STAT!”
Dome: “...Loud mouthed brat. If you don’t like our arrangements then get checked quickly and go. Once you’re back in the dorms where you belong, you can shower for 3 whole freakin’ days if ya want. You clearly aren’t in an emergency state like the other two, so you don’t have to expect much, past maybe staying overnight. Did I get anything wrong, Ms. Daisy?”
Ms. Daisy: “Other than the need for a more extensive examination since she did say that her head hurts, there’s only the fact that she can’t share a room with those two left to tell her. Aside from that stuff, you pretty much said what she needs to hear Dome. Good work.”
Dome: “Thank you.”
Oliviera: “Wa-Wait! Isn’t there some way I can take a quick shower today, and THEN stay in your smelly hospital beds? I – I don’t want to leave my classmates!(As IF I am going to leave just because I don’t have some silly ‘emergency’ thingie wrong with me. I did NOT work so hard to throw away this juicy story! I WILL hear the end of it! And – And in the meantime, I can go over this video.) *Feels for phone in pocket*”
Ophelia: “They will be fine without you. Go and rest. receive the treatment for your brain and take a hot shower back at the dormitory. I can keep watch and let you know when they awaken.”
Oliviera: “...My BRAIN? What exactly are you implying?! That I’m...I’m STUPID?! How DARE you imply that I’m stupid!”
Leos: “I dunno why you wanted to come here, Oliviera, but so long as you’re around I’m not saying anything. If you understand what I mean, then leave. Shoo! Shoo, shoo. Go and get yourself checked, then hurry and check yourself out! We don’t need busybodies interfering.”
Oliviera: “I am NOT going anywhere! Don’t forget I was the one that convinced you to come in the FIRST place! That really interesting conversat--- I - I mean… my head. Ahh………oww...I can barely see. Things look a little blurry! I better go off to pick my bed!”
Leos: “*Shrugs* Suit yourself. I honestly couldn’t care less if you stay or leave. Eavesdrop or not. But if I want answers, then I need him to talk. And it doesn’t look like he’s willing to talk with extra people around. So unless he speaks up first while you’re around, I won’t be talking one bit. Oh! You better watch out too. Noel, that guy… he’s not as kind as you believe him to be.”
Oliviera: “Oh, really? I couldn’t tell. Not after he KICKED you across the plubbing battlefield or after you called him a m-
...*Looks at Ophelia* Um...hi. Hehe.”
Leos: “Idiot.”
The black haired and tan skinned youth walks away with Dome, who guided him to an unusable room. Ms Daisy was starting to lead Oliviera by the hand, when she suddenly reached out and clasped her free fingers around Ophelia’s.
Ms. Daisy: “You come too. We can get the both of you situated in a room together.”
Oliviera: “Wha-- NO!”
Ophelia: “Yes. I fully agree. (I knew it. She’s plotting something, something that doesn’t sound too good. And that isn’t all. I thought it was the only reason she came here. I agreed with Alyandrea over this person’s motives, but...
...Judging by that conversation just now, Oliviera knows something. She ‘knows’ what really went on, in that forest. She ‘knows’ how strong Noel really is…!
And she knows something about him that she doesn’t want ME to know about. But I will pry it out of her – one way or another.) *Tightens fist*”
As for Mr. Abrams? He followed close behind the nurses. There were 4 in total, two each, ensuring the safety of both wounded males. Another pair held the double doors for the largest room open, where they’d completed transferring the mercenary 4 onto a bed with thick straps attached to the sides. These two were waiting for their newfound patients to enter so that all 6 nurses can simultaneously work on the emergency treatment. Honestly with these three patients and only 6 active Nurses – Not counting Ms. Daisy who was busy attending to the ‘safe’ students, they don’t feel that confident.
But before they could be wheeled any further, both beds came to an abrupt halt. Mr Abram’s eyes glowed bright red, then white before speaking to the 5 women and one male.
Mr. Abrams: “This is far enough. First: may I ask what all of your names are?”
Nurse #1: “Raftia. Hi.”
Nurse #2: “Billbert. Don’t judge me!”
Nurse #3: “Ava.”
Nurse #4: “Winney, honey~”
Nurse #5: “My name is Wuce. Hello.”
Nurse #6: “Georgia, dear. Now if we are done, can I begin treating my patients?”
Mr. Abrams: “Thank you. AHEM! Now that introductions are over and the … others, are out of sight; I have a confession to make.”
